Easy, self-serve, and good prices. It is right next to the boat launch and docks so it's really convenient. If you need help, they are right next door. Two hours was a good amount of time to go from the dock, to the east end of the river, under the bridges to the west, and back.

DO NOT BUY

Update : Received refund from Yelp took about 2 weeks from start to finish. Emailed shop@yelp.com. Again don't buy the Yelp coupon ($20 for $36) it will not be accepted by new owners. However, needs to be a priority of the new owners to remove that from this page.

Kayaking on Lower Salt River

Love this place! Super friendly and helpful service. Great advice on where to take our kayaks for the day. Easy pick up and drop off. Felt great supporting a local business as well. These people are great and have the best prices!

Kayaks and sunset and great price! What more could we ask for! Just know after 4 you need to launch and store kayaks yourself so bring a friend! Amazing time!

Thank you for an amazing experience today! My husband and I went out for a short ride around the lake and it was so quiet and weather was perfect in November! I will definitely be back and will bring my friends with me to play too. I have done SUP yoga before and other paddle boarding rentals but this place was very personable, great pricing and I love Tempe Town lake for a quick day date while the kids were in school. PS my husband had a great tip to be able to fully paddle/steer the board on just one side from his days in the Philippines, he said to google "banana boat rowing" not sure if this is a real thing online but it worked for him. He scooped the water, didn't go too far below the surface of the water and then turned the bottom of the paddle towards the back of the board to steer.

One of the best smoothest rental service I've ever had . Just came out to kill some time best choice ever !! Staff is super friendly and very helpful will definitely recommend and will be returning with my kids soon.

Single kayak on the salt river.

The owner helped us rent a single kayak. She was so friendly and helpful and had a lot of info on nearby water bodies. I was able to reserve over the phone on the way to the business and fill out the forms needed on my phone. Super easy. She loaded the kayak on our car for us and provided us with everything we would need (straps, life jacket, foam so the top of the car didn't scratch, etc.). Definitely recommend this family owned business! Prices are comparable to other places in the area.

Another wonderful experience at Northshore. Very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. My family has been here numerous times over the years and always a pleasant visit. Love it!!!!

Found via Groupon and used for a mom & son date. My son and I intended to try stand up paddle boarding and Chad gave a how-to in the store. Very friendly, and offered to store personal items in the store in the [rare] chance they'd get wet via a fall in the water. Ultimately after about 5 minutes in the water on the paddle board my son and I determined the stand up wasn't for us. Chad was extremely understanding and instead offered individual kayaks and restarted our time of one hour per the Groupon voucher. He turned an embarrassing situation into a very enjoyable and memorable experience for me and my son. Will recommend to others.

Enjoyed renting kayaks from here - a single and 2-person kayaks. A very easy process and friendly service. Would definitely do it again!

North Shore is, in my opinion, the best spot to rent water sport equipment for Tempe Town Lake. Chad and team are a great, personable and fun group. The rates beat all and the check out process is fast and safe. I spent many weekends on the lake and always stop in at North Shore.

Chad is the owner and helped my fiancé and I from choosing a paddle board and gave us a lesson before we started.

My tips when visiting saguaro lake:…read more - Arrive early if you're planning to rent a boat or kayak, especially on weekends. The marina can get crowded and boats are in high demand. - Bring plenty of water! Arizona heat can be brutal, even in the fall and spring. Make sure to stay hydrated, especially if you're hiking or spending time on the water. - If you're visiting for the first time, be sure to take a boat tour to get a unique perspective of the area. - Watch out for wildlife . You might spot herons, eagles, and even bighorn sheep along the trails, so keep an eye out! Plan your visit during the off-season (fall or spring) to avoid the summer heat and the crowds.

I visited Lake Saguaro on a Saturday.. Good thing I arrived early at 7:30am. I was able to unload…read more my vehicle and get on the water fairly quickly. By this time all of the front beach spots at the Butcher Jones area were completely taken up by large camping tents. It was tough to squeeze by people to get my stuff on the water. The water was crowded with many different paddle boards, jet skies, boats pulling other water toys. If I return it will likely be on a weekday when school is back In session. Nice lake otherwise. Oh yeah, when I left at around noon, there was no parking down near the beach. That parking lot was packed full. There were cars parked on the side of the road all the way up where you turn into the street driving towards the Butcher Jones area. Appeared to be a LONG walk down too. The FULL signs were posted at the turn off.

I have rented Kayaks from Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch several times over the past few years and have…read morealways had great service and a wonderful experience. Reserving a spot and kayak is easy on the online website. Once you navigate down to the main road to the Guest Ranch, it can be a little confusing as they always have a roadblock as you progress towards the parking lot. Just proceed past the sign to the parking lot ahead. After parking, walk back towards the ranch and check in. Guest services will provide a wrist band as well as a parking pass to place on your dashboard. Once your reservation time is ready, you will be provided a quick orientation of the equipment, navigation of the river and where the staff will pick you up at the end of your float. The staff is always super helpful. Be sure to bring plenty of water and a carabiner to hook on your dry bag or backpack to the kayak. Even though the majority of the river is an easy float, there are some small rapids. You may accidentally flip the kayak if you get caught in a tough spot on the River. This will prevent you from losing your bag! I'm experienced and have flipped once or twice. Depending on the time of year and water flow, the float can take 2 or 3 hours. Beautiful views of the landscape, wildlife including various birds and the gorgeous wild horses! At the end of the float, the staff will load your kayaks and take you back to the Guest Ranch. In the main building, be sure to stop by the gift shop prior or after the float for souvenirs or in case you forgot supplies you may need. They have several items including sunscreen, water shoes, hats, shirts snd much more. I found prices to be reasonable. This is the perfect place to bring out of town visitors. They will love it.

Such a fantastic time! I cannot recommend this enough…read more My bf and I are not outdoorsy people so I was nervous about how to take on the salt river. This was PERFECT, so happy we did this over the tubing. There's a reason tubing has mixed reviews and these are all positive! It took us exactly 2 hours and it was very leisure. We wanted to sit and enjoy the beauty, it was fun to race in our kayaks, and one time we pulled over to jump in the water to refresh. We did the 7:15am Sat July 5 hoping we would get a nice serene time and compared to how it usually sounds, it was very peaceful. Few party people down the river but nothing too crazy. I recommend not going later than 7:30 if you want a more peaceful time to yourself and low crowds. Plus the sun wasn't as brutal. Saw a woman go on her own, and you're definitely fine to do it by yourself. Charge up your phone so you have plenty of juice for photos and videos and in case you need to make a "help call" "Rapids" are not bad at all so fun and simple. The quality of what they provide is very nice. They send detailed instructions of what to expect, including parking (refer to email). Do not forget your water shoes. We didn't need a snack during but it was nice to have after, obviously water is a must plus sunscreen. We wore rash guards and hats and I recc that. Pre buy a waterproof phone lanyard. I got wonderful photos and videos from something cheap on Amazon The most wild life we saw was one horse and like 5 fish lol I wish there was an easier way to keep my water in front with me because every time I went to grab it behind me I was worried I would tip myself. I also wish they had little signs to point which way to go, it's simple, but after the excitement heat etc, it's like "wait they did say left middle right left, right?" lol Can't think of any other tips, besides just do this, can't imagine you would regret. We are new to the area and wanted to do something that felt very Arizona, super happy with the decision
