The lazy river was awesome, I just wish they had more signs to let us know where to get off. Love the scenery. Great pics of the horses

Suited up and ready to go!

We had an amazing adventure on the river yesterday! Fun and exhilarating! Such a wonderful way to see the beauty of the Salt River Canyon. Our guide, Lucas, was amazing! Experienced, light hearted, and crazy talented at navigating the water. He made the trip extra enjoyable by providing information about the surroundings and sharing in our excitement. This company provided everything we needed to have a great experience! Grab a water bottle and go!

Floating the river is always a fun time! You see wild horses and it's a relatively calm float/kayak. People throw marshmallows for some reason which is gross cause they float in the water. The long float is about 4 hours and the short float is about 2. Wear sunscreen and bring a water proof bag for your stuff and clip it or tie it to your tube!

This post is about six months late but I want to share what a fun experience it was going down the Salt River with Salt River Rafting. My girlfriends and I enjoy several hours on the easy going river. It was a wonderful adventure and we even had the opportunity to see wild horses.

Wonderful trip. Beautiful canyon. Our guide Ara was super. Price was good. We can't wait to go again.

This is a must do activity for locals! We have done this trip a couple of times now and love it even more each time we do it. The people working there are very kind and provide helpful tips. We tube from 1 to 4 which typically takes about 4 hours. Bring water, cocktails, a towel of your tube and plenty of sunscreen. My biggest pointer would to make sure that you continue to apply sunscreen to your body and pay close attention to your knees down to your ankles as they will burn terribly from hanging over the tube!

    Wild Horses everywhere!

110 degrees out? Perfect day to grab a tube, relax and enjoy the wild horses and the scenery. So much fun to do with a group or by yourself! The staff was great from the rentals to the bus drivers!!

My wife and I went rafting with Salt River Rafting yesterday and it was great! Our guide was Grant and our safety boat was Hanna both very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. My wife and I were in the boat with Grant as the guide and Hanna was always in the safety boat ahead of us so if we had any problem she was there to help. Great white water and great fun. Weather was excellent water was not that cold and we both enjoyed the total trip. Half way down the river we stopped at the camp and had a very good lunch and nice break. Grant was very knowledgeable about the salt river and the area. Hanna was friendly and also knowledgeable about the area. Can't say enough good things about these two they do a great job representing the company. Will do it again next time we are here. Don't miss an opportunity to see the parts of Arizona you haven't seen. The drive out to the rafting is just as much fun as the rafting and the scenery is awesome.

We went salt river rafting today for the first time and had a wonderful experience! All the guides were knowledgeable and fun! Provided an amazing lunch. Ara was our guide and we all loved her! She made our trip so much fun with all of her experience and interesting stories!

Us getting pictures with our awesome guide/safety Squid! You ladies are awesome!! We can't wait to raft with you again!

This is my favorite place on Earth with some of the coolest people I've ever met. That's the reason I gift myself a Rafting trip for my birthday as often as I can. This was mine and my daughter's third trip down the Salt with this company. This trip was by far the best...so far. Thanks to our amazing guide Ara and our safety Squid Syd! We decided to extend our rafting trip to a raft and camp. Best decision we made in a really long time! Barely $100 more for priceless memories. We started out like any other trip by gearing up, then our guides loaded us up and took us up the river further. *This was new. We actually got an extra 20+ mins of rafting because the water was up. After a short, but thorough safety briefing, we were off. Ara was top notch and made our trip super exciting and tons of fun. The rapport between the two women made for great entertainment. Ara also made sure we hit the big holes and got super soaked! We stopped for the famous chicken fajita lunch at 2nd camp, then breezed through the 2nd stretch. The gnarly bus ride back was even more fun, cause we got to raft a third time across a small wash. After we said goodbye to the guests that weren't camping we drove our personal vehicle back to 2nd camp. (I recommend a vehicle with decent clearance) We have a Subaru Forester. Once we arrived we were shown our camping area, made familiar with our surroundings, and introduced to the rest of the group. Ara brought out appetizers and helped us feel at home. After getting to know everyone a little we had an amazing steak and grilled veggie dinner followed by strawberry shortcake for dessert . We relaxed around the fire for a bit and then hit the sack. We awoke to the smells of breakfast and was shortly greeted by hot coffee for me and hot chocolate for my daughter. After a huge breakfast of pancakes, eggs, hash browns, and fresh fruit, we packed up camp and reluctantly said our goodbyes. This was by far the most amazing trip of our lives....so far. Thank you so much Ara, Syd, James, Terrick, Amy, Aaron, and everyone else that made our stay so awesome! ***Remember to tip your guides***

A lady was unloading her boat and she knew she needed to hurry as it is was the "wrong" beach but all privates drop their boats there and normally stay tight and out of the way. As she was unloading the big bus rolled up ( 8:30 am) and honked she went to move her truck instantly a guide jumped out of the truck and started dropping the f bomb, peacocking and threatening the lady to the point I was concerned for her safety. She said she was trying to move out of the way but the guide kept yelling at her in a totally unprofessional manner calling her a bitch, dropping the fbomb, threatening to throw her stuff in the river the whole time not allowing her to move as he was in between her and her truck. He just was escalating the problem all she kept saying was ok I am going to move but he kept preventing her. His mannerism was narcissistic, chauvinistic and his odor was suspect. As a guide professionally for 35 years at various rivers including the Salt, and now working promoting adventure tourism I find this behavior unacceptable and I will not be endorsing this company. I understand at the end of the season folks get burned out but maybe the guide should take anger management or work at the DMV. Start out with hello instead of " You stupid B@#$%h". Having thought about the incident of which I only witnessed it is sad that in such a beautiful spot it occurred.

Reserving a spot and kayak is easy on the online website. Once you navigate down to the main road to the Guest Ranch, it can be a little confusing as they always have a roadblock as you progress towards the parking lot. Just proceed past the sign to the parking lot ahead. After parking, walk back towards the ranch and check in. Guest services will provide a wrist band as well as a parking pass to place on your dashboard. Once your reservation time is ready, you will be provided a quick orientation of the equipment, navigation of the river and where the staff will pick you up at the end of your float. The staff is always super helpful. Be sure to bring plenty of water and a carabiner to hook on your dry bag or backpack to the kayak. Even though the majority of the river is an easy float, there are some small rapids. You may accidentally flip the kayak if you get caught in a tough spot on the River. This will prevent you from losing your bag! I'm experienced and have flipped once or twice. Depending on the time of year and water flow, the float can take 2 or 3 hours. Beautiful views of the landscape, wildlife including various birds and the gorgeous wild horses! At the end of the float, the staff will load your kayaks and take you back to the Guest Ranch. In the main building, be sure to stop by the gift shop prior or after the float for souvenirs or in case you forgot supplies you may need. They have several items including sunscreen, water shoes, hats, shirts snd much more. I found prices to be reasonable. This is the perfect place to bring out of town visitors. They will love it.
