What an amazing day!!! 5 70 plus went tubing. We can't say enough for this company. The staff and Marilyn went so far out of their way for us. We tied our tubes together and floated down the river. We couldn't believe how clean the river was and the rest areas were litter free. This trip renewed my spirit of our country. The help and respect that we received floating down the river was unbelievable. No matter what color or what language they spoke they were there to help us out. Also the the Safety team at the end of the ride. 2 were stuck in the tube at the end of the ride and weren't able to get out with a semi fast water and started to float away but there was the was the Safety Patrol to rescue them. 1 person in our party walked with a cane and after they got him out of the tube they stuck with him and even escorted him up to the bus and wanted to stay until the bus arrived. I'm not sure if this is a review for the tube renting place or for just going at all. But I highly recommend buying your own tubes to own forever, and if you have the opportunity take 2 cars to go to the top and drop off spot so you don't have for rent a tube. If you own your own tube, you can still rent a bus ride for $19. This is definitely an Arizona summer classic. Wow!! I'm updating to say that in all my 21 years I didn't realize that there was a difference between rafting and tubing and that there were 2 different of options on what you can do to go down the river. This review is for a RAFTING & CAMPING trip (lol, I can't believe how many people have left reviews for tubing)! It's going to be my longest review ever! Where do I start?!? I have wanted to raft the Grand Canyon (Colorado River) my whole life so when my friend asked me if I wanted to raft the Salt River I said "heck yeah"!! My 2 top takes from this trip are RESPECT (respect these guides, the river and the land...they are awesome and deserve every bit of it) and don't judge a book by its cover... Upon arrival my friend became really nervous (she even had me getting nervous). She walked over and found our guide Ara and immediately came back feeling a lot better. We had plenty of time to get our PPE, buy some shirts/stickers/sunglass straps (cheaper than Amazon) and use the porta potty. An awesome guide explained safety instructions and insisted people listen! Respect him - it could save your life. He made sure everyone could see and hear him. Safety is their #1 important thing! All the rafts left at the same time. Us 3 and our guide in one boat. The rest of the boats seemed to be a high school trip. You do some practice paddling in the eddy before the first rapid. On that first rapid you have someone from the team taking your picture! After some amazing fun we stopped for lunch where the guides gave us chips and salsa to start while they made chicken fajitas (the chicken is separate from the onions and peppers which my friend appreciated because she doesn't like those veggies). We had plenty of time to eat, drink water and use the porta potty. I highly suggest doing the full day because this is where it would end for the half day/no lunch trips. It is soooo worth it to continue on. We got to learn a lot about our amazing guide Ara, we instantly trusted her beyond words. She has years of experience and has paddled rivers from AZ to Alaska! She has her own raft and constantly going on new adventures. Looking at her...young and a girl...you may second guess going with her but this is why I say never judge a book by its cover! She was amazing!!! We all had absolutely 100% trust in her!!! The whole team is on top of things. I was so impressed how they handled a raft that was pulled over. One by one they pulled to the side and waited or assisted the stopped raft. Later I overheard one of the kids say he purposely fell off the raft - don't do that. It's not cool - respect the river and the guides!! They drove us back to our truck and dropped Ara off at camp (where we had lunch) to start preparing for our evening of appetizers and dinner. We drove back to camp and set up our tents and Ara brought over a wonderful charcuterie board (I love these)!! After setting up Ara had a nice fire going while she finished up dinner. She made the most amazing Alfredo/pesto tortellini, salad and bread! It was so good I forgot to take a picture!! While we were eating she mentioned something about baking a cake (I was thinking it must be one of the guide's birthday's). Nope!! She baked us a pineapple upside down cake in the cast iron Dutch oven! Omg so delicious! All the guides in the camp were so welcoming and friendly! They invited us to play horseshoes, sat with us by the fire and really made us feel included (after all this is their home for the season). The next morning Ara had yogurt, fruit, leftover cake (my friend was really happy about that) orange juice and coffee waiting while we tried to wake up. We took our time...Ara always made sure things flowed on our time. She never pressured us or rushed us - it was absolutely wonderful. She cooked us a nice breakfast of croissant sandwiches and we had to pack up and head out. We made sure to tip her (and if I could have made it 100% of the cost I would have) she hugged us and we said our goodbyes! Everyone we met was amazing!! Ara, Annie the dog, Stu and G-String (my ears must of been waterlogged because I swear that's what his name was - lol). I wish I remembered more names but these were our top favorites. They have me wanting to do the 5 day trip next!! read more

Floating the river is always a fun time! You see wild horses and it's a relatively calm float/kayak. People throw marshmallows for some reason which is gross cause they float in the water. The long float is about 4 hours and the short float is about 2. Wear sunscreen and bring a water proof bag for your stuff and clip it or tie it to your tube! read more

This is a must do activity for locals! We have done this trip a couple of times now and love it even more each time we do it. The people working there are very kind and provide helpful tips. We tube from 1 to 4 which typically takes about 4 hours. Bring water, cocktails, a towel of your tube and plenty of sunscreen. My biggest pointer would to make sure that you continue to apply sunscreen to your body and pay close attention to your knees down to your ankles as they will burn terribly from hanging over the tube! read more

My wife and I went rafting with Salt River Rafting yesterday and it was great! Our guide was Grant and our safety boat was Hanna both very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. My wife and I were in the boat with Grant as the guide and Hanna was always in the safety boat ahead of us so if we had any problem she was there to help. Great white water and great fun. Weather was excellent water was not that cold and we both enjoyed the total trip. Half way down the river we stopped at the camp and had a very good lunch and nice break. Grant was very knowledgeable about the salt river and the area. Hanna was friendly and also knowledgeable about the area. Can't say enough good things about these two they do a great job representing the company. Will do it again next time we are here. Don't miss an opportunity to see the parts of Arizona you haven't seen. The drive out to the rafting is just as much fun as the rafting and the scenery is awesome. read more

This is my favorite place on Earth with some of the coolest people I've ever met. That's the reason I gift myself a Rafting trip for my birthday as often as I can. This was mine and my daughter's third trip down the Salt with this company. This trip was by far the best...so far. Thanks to our amazing guide Ara and our safety Squid Syd! We decided to extend our rafting trip to a raft and camp. Best decision we made in a really long time! Barely $100 more for priceless memories. We started out like any other trip by gearing up, then our guides loaded us up and took us up the river further. *This was new. We actually got an extra 20+ mins of rafting because the water was up. After a short, but thorough safety briefing, we were off. Ara was top notch and made our trip super exciting and tons of fun. The rapport between the two women made for great entertainment. Ara also made sure we hit the big holes and got super soaked! We stopped for the famous chicken fajita lunch at 2nd camp, then breezed through the 2nd stretch. The gnarly bus ride back was even more fun, cause we got to raft a third time across a small wash. After we said goodbye to the guests that weren't camping we drove our personal vehicle back to 2nd camp. (I recommend a vehicle with decent clearance) We have a Subaru Forester. Once we arrived we were shown our camping area, made familiar with our surroundings, and introduced to the rest of the group. Ara brought out appetizers and helped us feel at home. After getting to know everyone a little we had an amazing steak and grilled veggie dinner followed by strawberry shortcake for dessert . We relaxed around the fire for a bit and then hit the sack. We awoke to the smells of breakfast and was shortly greeted by hot coffee for me and hot chocolate for my daughter. After a huge breakfast of pancakes, eggs, hash browns, and fresh fruit, we packed up camp and reluctantly said our goodbyes. This was by far the most amazing trip of our lives....so far. This was my first time white water rafting and it was a total and complete BLAST! I am so totally hooked! Tarik was our guide for the full days rafting trip. He was completely fun and safe. Gave us every bit of information we needed to stay safe and IN the raft. It was a 12 mile rafting trip and the included lunch was amazing! Chicken Fajitas with all the fixins. The only thing that bother me was the fit of the life jacket, but I'll get my own now that I'm hooked and looking for my next trip. They even do 2 and 3 day trips, my next adventure! The other guides were great! We got into water fights with the other rafts and listening to Matt was something special that cannot be conveyed here. All I can say is that he was entertaining as hell! What a GREAT, AWESOME, NOTHING BUT FANTASTIC DAY!!!!!!! Thanks Guys! Only bummer was that the CD I bought with the pictures of the trip was not usable when I got it home. I recently went on a four day trip down the salt River and had the trip of a lifetime. Our guide Terik was able to educate us on the history of each area, the geology of each area, and was able to provide a lot of background that really made the slow spots of the river even more interesting. Going through the rapids is more fun than a barrel of monkeys. The equipment was top-notch and in great shape. Our guides Terik, Zach, Lauren and John were also very friendly and helpful. They prepared great meals. They always put us first. I would highly recommend taking at least a multi-day trip to really get to experience parts of the river that some people will never get a chance to see in their lifetime. read more

As a first-timer I was a bit nervous but this was one of my favorite adventures and I will definitely go again! All of the guides were so friendly and welcoming! Aura, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the canyon's history, flora & fauna, and fun stories about living on the river during the rafting season. My friend had arranged for a kayaking trip for 7 of us for her birthday. We travelled to the canyon from PHX in two cars. Long story short...the other car (being driven by the birthday girl) got lost. They were over two hours late for our 10:00 departure. Salt River Rafting was so laid back, assuring those of us who were on time they would make it work. The girls finally showed up and SRR fed us lunch and we hit the river. Prester, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna and sights on the river. He was also amazingly tolerant of 7 raunchy girls! Even though our trip was short, I had a blast and got my money's worth. SRR fed us so well - chicken fettuccine Alfredo for dinner, eggs Benedict for breakfast. We had a group of 34 Boy Scouts and dads. The facilities and personnel were top notch. The guides were patient with the boys and withstood many splashing attacks with other boats. Everyone we dealt with from the office people to the guides, support crew, cooks, and bus drivers were great.These are people who love what they are doing. It was an absolutely great adventure. Unseasonably cold over the weekend but the campfire and fajitas at the lunch stop were welcome. The cold weather and snow this winter made for great rafting and great rapids. What an incredible experience! Had my first-ever white water rafting trip yesterday. We did the full-day trip and our guide Cam and all the other guides made it such a fun and safe experience for us. So awesome that we can enjoy rapids this close to home! The trip was a great mix of thrill and chill. Cam injected some education about the nature around us while providing us with his own brand of humor. It was great watching a bunch of strangers come together as a team to navigate our raft over multiple rapids along the river. Cam made sure we enjoyed some fun exciting moments but I'm so impressed that these guides make sure we understand safety is top priority. I felt so safe the entire time. On the bus trip back to the start, we got to see the rapids we had navigated through and I thought to myself that these guides really know their stuff and got us safely through them. They all have their own personalities which makes for a really fun time. They camp out during the entire season so they can take us on these trips so be kind to them and make sure you hug and tip them! We had a blast on our full day trip! We were lucky enough to get the best guide, Lauren. She was really knowledgeable and a lot of fun. The rapids are a great balance of a little scary, a lot of fun, and calm areas to look around at the scenery. The water was very chilly when it washed over us on waves, highly recommend using one of the wetsuits provided. Great experience for kids and adults. Lunch was delicious. We did have a small issue with the ride on the bus back to our cars at the end, we got stuck, and had a flat tire. Absolutely awesome trip. The river was down, so the rapids were not as challenging as we'd hoped. But the beauty of the canyon and all the desert vegetation and animals more than made up for it. Our guide, Marco, was knowledgeable of the river, of course, but also the geology, fauna, wildlife and even stories about the Indian tribes whose reservations we rafted through. I took a kayak down the salt with my family. The adventure is real you don't even remember you are about 30 minutes from home. Wild horses cool cool water and the current is fast but not too fast. I went on this trip 2 years ago to try rafting for the first time. I was very nervous at first, but everyone was very helpful and entertaining. I had so much fun that I am going again this weekend. I cant wait! Oh, and early on the water is FREEZING. I was the first person to jump in (on my own accord) for the season, but what an adrenaline rush!
