NOTE: The business owner has answered me below. He is right. It is not a good fit for me...and they certainly don't need me. I also have no issues with 20 something women.. unless they get condescending to a 50 something person who has been handling firearms longer than they have been alive. "You may know it's cleared, we don't" is not a good answer from the seller of a gun, who just checked it, after pulling it out of their own cabinet. His grand kids are adorable. His daughter was fine for the most part. It is a family run business. I am not attacking the family honor I am reviewing the business. That is what brought me in the door. I like supporting local businesses, especially family businesses. I made a good faith effort to support his business 5 TIMES. I have just never had this particular experience before...and it was noteworthy. On to my review: This was my first choice for a gun shop because it is close to my work. So I go in looking for a specific firearm and a 20 something woman behind the counter holding a (adorable) baby tells me to go over there and look at a mostly empty display. Customers all mostly have masks on... counter staff do not. I see nothing at the display, so I ask the woman to show me a gun in the counter case. She pulls it out, checks it and hands it to me. While I am examining it she keeps holding her hands out in front of her. I ask if she wants it back. She says: "No I just don't want you to point it at her" indicating another woman sitting in a chair behind the counter. I'm stunned because I did no such thing and I don't know why she would think so. My finger was nowhere near the trigger. It was basically flat in the palm of my hand. She then shows me the revolver capacity of another gun, opening and closing it while it is pointed right in the direction of the same woman. I didn't see that as a problem since the gun was also checked and clear... but still... I guess I could have gotten all extra "safety first" and pushed her hand away too. Kind of awkward...and a little off putting...even though I absolutely respect the good intentions. Obviously I didn't take this too badly... because I visited this shop 3 more times. I was told I just need to keep coming back again and again. Which I did. Once I was kicked out because they were closed and I accidentally walked in the open door. At that point it began to become a grind to me. They have no wait lists. No pre-ordering. I also tried to email them asking what my options were. They explained in the email that there are no options, they won't reserve or pre-order because it is too hard to keep track of it all that money...and they may "never get the gun in" and then I "will be pissed at them". Ok... I guess. But I'm pretty sure pre-ordering is a thing...that is done... in business...and they have systems for that. They also don't answer their phone by the way...they explained this to me when I asked why their line kept hanging up on me. So, I literally have to drive my way in to ask them in person because they are also not answering the phone when people want to keep checking back again and again on the phone. The only option they offer is to keep checking their Facebook page where they will announce new items and then we can all race each other in at the same time. Look, I get the industry has crashed... and there are all these challenges everyone is facing... but this is asking me to do all the work for them so they can just had me a thing and collect my money at their convenience... and I don't work for them. As hard as I tried to buy from this store, I have many more options than them. So I called Davidson's firearms, the big weapon distributor, and asked them about this situation. They told me the firearm I wanted was going to customers on a wait list in stores. That was their exact words. They said any gun shop they supply is free to get on the "Davidson's wants" list. They will then do their best to make that shop a priority to fill the order. I'm not sure what the miscommunication was here between Ammo AZ and the gun distributor but that's what each of them say. It is obviously a voluntary system. Glockmeister was near me and they are on Davidson's list. They also actually had the firearm I wanted right in the cabinet. So I guess I hit the gun shelf jackpot by checking other places instead of Ammo AZ. Which is sad because I tried 5 TIMES to give them my business and they just waved me out the door each time. Glockmeister also does pre-orders which I was told by AAZ NO GUN SHOP WILL DO. So, in conclusion. This place is fine... but it's obviously not for me. read more

This place is amazing. I found them at their old build. They are right across the street from my office (Kinda But not far). One day being talked about in the break room and it was all good things. So I happen to show up on a Saturday Pre covid and there was not any line. I was able to get in and get out. The girls behind the counter were amazing with there help. I knew then I would never go anywhere else Covid happens Here we are in the new location. Much larger and more space but....My honey hole has been found. There are always crazy LONG lines. But its because there is ALWAYS some kind of deal that makes the line worth the wait. Once day waiting in line for an SR22 that was on sale for $99 ( Steal of a Deal) This dude comes out the door with his phone recording everything. That is when I find out they were very active and on facebook. There is no need for me to call them, I can send an FB message and they respond quickly. I know because of their constant updates what is on sale and what ammo I can expect. I met the own not long ago while I was there picking up a Radical AR-15. He seemed very down to earth and very level headed. There was a guy trying to get him to price match but they didnt have the gun....They had a better model and it was actually a better price and they guy was just not understanding it. Very funny. Over all this will be my shop until I am to far to get to them. Staff is awesome and he hires family and people from the community. Long lines are a good thing. It means he is making $$$ which means he can stay in the area. They have a nice system. Get in, Claim your item, Move to background, Check out. For my AR-15 we were 23rd in line and we got in by 10:15 and had my rifle down the 101 but 10:45. Most big box places are not that efficient. Customer for life. The Box for my AR was Crushed but the Gun was 10000% OK. Still the owners son tossed in a FREE hard case. It was very nice. read more

**NEXT FFL TRANSFER WILL BE DONE AT LONE WOLF** Horrible experience from every person involved. Governors gun club apparently was a middle man for orion wholesale firearms who shipped it to ammo AZ. This was my first experience with ammo az. Orion wholesale did not give the tracking number to governors gun club. The firearm was delivered and I was never notified. I finally found out it had been delivered who knows how long ago. When I ask ammo az if they have my firearm or when it arrived they become hostile and defensive with me and did not answer my question. They began explaining I have to have a tracking number to pick it up. When I began to explain why I don't have a tracking number they get upset. The entire conversation they where upset and accused me of being rude repeatedly. I directly communicated with them and asked "what have I done to upset them and what am I doing rude?" I ask twice. Twice no response can be given. They just know they are upset at me for something I've done they can't explain. Finally they find my firearm with no tracking number as if it was never needed to begin. Interesting how that worked. Almost like obstructionism ,argumentative responses and upset attitude was never required for them to perform their job. Next FFL TRANSFER I DO WILL BE AT LONE WOLF FOR 10$ LESS. *Update passed my 4473, then upset bailey on the phone. Found out his dad was owner. Told him I would never return again and was permanently banned and trespassed then my firearm was returned to sender. Petty is an understatement* ** Further update dude has gone unhinged on YouTube responding to me, I've also learned he's done this to multiple other customers and he's even tracked people down and followed them around and filmed them on YouTube.*** read more

The store is clean and has nice people behind the counter. The reason I'm giving such a low score is because of the way they operate their online store and their lack of communication skills. When something is not in stock, they advise you to order it online. The online store does say there may be a delay in receiving products and you have to agree in check out that you are OK with waiting. That was all fine with me, but I have tried calling the store every day at various times for a week and it goes to a full voice mailbox so I'm unable to speak with somebody or leave a message. It seems my only option to speak with them is to drive to the store in person just to ask a simple question about the status of my online order. That to me is enough to lose my business read more

Went in today to buy my first firearm. I've done research on YouTube, but still didn't really know what I was looking for. I walked in and immediately saw a well organized store. When I talked to the owner, Murphy, he gave me ideas for my first. The one he recommended was a bit too basic for me, and I mentioned a Zeus arms rifle that I liked. They were out of stock online and I asked if there were any in store. They were out of production due to the store moving locations soon, but he called the Zeus arms employee and he just happened to have one left in the store. They brought it over immediately and sold it to me despite not being supposed to until the move. 10/10 would recommend and am very thankful for the service read more

They have decent supply and prices. Took my GF their to get her first gun she has no clue about the different models had her get a feel for several models decided on sig 365xl and when we went to the counter I looked at her she said "I don't remember the name" I said she wants to get the 365XL and they said I was attempting a straw purchase because I said the name of the gun because she couldn't remember. Left there went to where I have bought many of my guns northwest armory and got amazing service and saved $50 on the gun/Red dot combo. Was very insulting to be accused of a federal crime when I was just trying to help out a first time gun owner purchase her first gun. read more

This is my favorite store in the valley. Love these guys. Also seeing Zeus is awesome. Nothing better to make someone's day. Only time prices go up is when the owner has no other choice. Yes, he has lost money before on deals because he doesn't believe in price gouging like other stores. ALSO, 99.99999% of the "bad" reviews are from people who don't understand gun laws or that they are not the center of the universe. "They never answer the phone" well, because they are taking care of the customers who take the time to GO INTO THE STORE. I bought four of my last 5 guns there, and wish I had bought the fifth there as well. Huge selection of weapons, and a website, that carries I think every gun imaginable, and as I only pay with cash, I can walk into the store, order the gun off their website, pay, and have it in my hands in just a few days. Zeus and the other associates are helpful, friendly, and the entire environment is like family. Prices are good, ammo prices are amazing ... and the new store is huge, across the street from the old store, and still packed almost to the rafters .... I had not ever purchased a gun personally until this year. It can be hard when you know what your looking for but not sure on the route to go. Especially with how many different options there are! However, the owner helped me with general questions. The process of checking out to the background check and general questions was seamless. Everyone in this store is there to help and are extremely nice! I have only ever purchased guns and ammo from them! I highly recommend them as they know what they are talking about and doing. Newer Gun and Ammo store. The owner is a great guy, always friendly and helpful. You cannot beat his prices on guns or ammo. He just moved to his new location and has a very nice display of a variety of guns. ARs, AKs, 22s, etc. Check this place out, its nice to go to a gunstore and not have to wait forever just to look at a gun. He displays his guns openly on the wall and allows you access to take a look at any gun. Nice concept!!! His prices are easily 20-40% below others for the same gun. This is the gun shop in Phoenix. Fairly priced, fair in every way with customer. principled & passionate about what they do. Only gun store I recommend. They started as a tiny shop and have grown to a massive business by doing things the right way, solid ethics, treating people right, and doing their best to live by their own principles. Awesome place great staff never once annoyed and helped me go through all my options for my first ar and didnt push me into anything and even helped me out with the 1000 questions I asked .
