My husband told me I need to put on some extra weight; a pound and a half to be exact. I was perplexed but then he took me to Ammo AZ and the light-bulb in my head went on, lol. Let's be honest, though, he just used that as an excuse to go find a new gun for himself. Walking into Ammo AZ you're enamored by all the guns on the walls and on tables so you can touch, feel, and find the right one for you. The set up is simple and clean, not overwhelming. The sales team is wonderful, informative, and extremely knowledgeable but not pushy or trying to force a sale (I love that); they help you get what you want without making you feel sold. (But then again they don't have to because the guns here practically sell themselves with their amazing pricing!) Ammo AZ is family-owned and literally has all your needs when it comes to guns -- bullets, accessories, whatever you need. And their prices can't be beat... trust me, hubs and I have shopped around. Needless to say, our home is protected by the good Lord and guns, because the only thing more dangerous than guns is not having them and wishing you had. The staff are some of the kindest and most helpful people in the business. Prices are decent for the current gun and ammo shortage. Only qualm is the owner is off his rocker. I ended up not buying due to his behavior. I appreciate all the staff and the vendors they have but the owner unfortunately did not make it a nice experience. To each his own. The social distancing and mask compliance is also extremely subpar. You can be a republican and read peer reviewed scientific journals about the benefits of masks. First time at Ammo AZ, I've been helping a friend get a Glock and Roni package together, we came to the store to look at the Glocks and she ended up buying 19 Gen 5. Great experience, the girl at the counter was great and very helpful. It's a family business so there were grandkids around, I know some have mentioned this as a negative, my friend and I thought it was delightful. I'm tempted to leave a 1 star and an ignorant review only to get into a social media feud with the owner. ;) Unlike any other shop. You don't have to ask to handle anything, it's all right there. Family and dogs, usually Zeus, will come greet you. How cool is that? You get giant doggo love whilst gun shopping. Multiple generations and fur kids all working together on an American dream. I like to pretend I'm a collector and they don't really carry used guns. If they do, it's surplus trade ins. So I have to hit other places to find rare or collectible items. read more

Typical small time gun store. Employees have no customer service training and are content to just sit around. When I walked in there was a hand-written sign stating that their internet was down and that they could only do cash purchases. Ok, not their fault. But if you have a business where every customer can spend $500-$1500 it seems like it wouldn't be too much to ask to get off your chair, welcome them to the store, apologize for the inconvenience of the internet going down and act like you are glad to see them. I feel sorry for the owner of this place to have such lazy and incompetent employees. I will not be coming back. I was prepared to buy a S&W FMC, optic and ammo today but I will take my business somewhere else. read more

I love this gun and ammo store. The owners and staff here are very nice people. They have never disrespected me or treated me bad. So i dont know why some of the bad reviews. Kind of like a family owned store. These are the type of people i like doing business with when purchasing my firearms legally and ammo legally. Me and a friend of mine were here to purchase some ammo and guns. Well he wanted to buy a gun and ammo. I already own 3 guns back at home in my safe locked up. I was just in the store today to pick up a custom made firearm which I had ordered from another store in Virginia a year ago. I received a phone call from the maker a month ago asking if this location is still a good location to send the firearm to. I answered yes. Whoops. I hadn't heard anything since that phone call from Virginia, so I went into Ammo AZ yesterday to ask them about it. The person working the desk said they did not have it and asked if I had a tracking number. I told him I did not and that I haven't heard anything since the call and that I was looking for a very specific custom made pistol with special engraving signifying my sons boat that he is on in the NAVY. I had my I.D. out and any and all information about the firearm and myself. He again said no they don't have it and I need to get in touch with the store I bought it from. I did today. They let me know it had been shipped FedEx and the person that signed for it back on August 11, 2023 in addition, gave me the tracking number and serial number and to let him know if he could help in any other way. I went back in to AMMO AZ and there were two people working the counter, one was the same guy from yesterday. I asked by first name for the guy that I was told signed for it almost two weeks ago. They looked at each other and said nothing. I asked for the same guy and included his last name and said he signed for my firearm on the 11th. One spoke up and said, "That's me and asked for the last three numbers of my tracking number." I asked him what would it matter he said you don't have it, and was pointing to the second guy. The one I had spoken with just yesterday. He said I can look for it under the tracking number. I gave it to him. He returned not 1 minute later and had the FedEx box, sat down, pulled out the pistol case and set it on his counter, opened the case and asked if this is what I had ordered. I said yes. I also asked if FedEx used the blue painter's tape to seal the box for shipping, He said no that was us to reseal it after we opened it. I said you opened it and right on top of the pistol case is the paperwork with all my information, Name phone, email, address. Everything. He said we don't go by that, We need a tracking number. I said you told me you don't have it. Clearly you did and have had it for almost two weeks. He said, But I wouldn't know because you didn't have a tracking number. I said you opened the box and had all of my information including the description of the custom pistol. Dumb look on his face, then I guess the manager came over and said all the same stuff. They've had this pistol now for more than two weeks and just now they start a background check. "We can't start it until you are in the store." I told them if someone would have let me know two weeks ago we would have this done by now. Complete idiots here and went somewhere else to buy the necessary AMMO. Will NEVER be going back to this place. read more

I found myself recently thinking now is a good time to get a handgun, given the current uncertainties we find ourselves in. As I began the search process it ironically turned out that this is NOT a good time, since apparently everyone else is having the same thoughts I am and finding something is turning out to be the proverbial wild goose chase/needle-in-a-haystack/pick-your-cliche. My long-winded point in all this is, having been to several dealers now my 2 trips to Ammo AZ have been actually good experiences in that while they have been out of stock of my several desired choices and stock is pretty sparse overall, there still has been a decent selection of guns for me to at least sample and get my hands on just to get a feel for what would be a good fit. The staff have been friendly and helpful, even when busy and just hearing them interact with others you get the impression that they are definitely wanting to help. There are numerous tables with handguns available to check out, as well as a selection of rifles on the wall. A table is available with several computers for the customers to enter their info to fill out the background check/purchase form once you have picked out your item to streamline the process. The search will continue for me and I definitely plan on checking out Ammo AZ regularly and hopefully give them my business. They make a great impression here and I would recommend them. read more

I was able to stop by patiently waited in lines and got my Gun. Had my CCW and processed pretty quick. This is not my first visit to the store and will not be my last. The thing that sets this store apart is you don't have to stand by the counter and hope someone comes over to show you what you wanna buy. Great Staff and he was even nice enough to show me a smg. If I could, I would leave no stars because this place is horrible. I went there one day trying to get a shotgun and I was there for two hours. Nobody help me out. Best firearm and ammo store EVER! The owner is in the building constantly, and is a very down-to-Earth guy. They do their very best to have items in stock, have great ammo prices (especially if you watch for the sale prices!), and my favorite part? They are VERY DOG FRIENDLY! The owner is a jerk. When the store screws up, instead of apologizing, he makes excuses. I like it when people talk straight, but there's a difference between "straight talk" and being rude and not accepting responsibility for your store's lack of having a system in place to avoid 'miscommunication'. Thank you to the staff for allowing me to make my own choice whether I wear a mask or not in the store. That's how it should be. Having said that was in today for shotgun shells and ended up getting another shotgun because your prices are not hugely inflated. After talking to the great staff there I ended up with a T Shirt and an Emergency Food bucket.
