I also tried the street corn, want bad - a bit heavy on the mayo, but something maybe to request the next time to go easy on. When we arrived, it was an hour wait so the reception mentioned that they had a rooftop bar upstairs with light bites and appetizers so we decided to do that and wait for our table. After ordering margaritas which were awesome "like fire" and the pastor street tacos & asada quesadillas we were all good and satisfied. Our waiter Omar was the best and he recommended our appetizers who was very attentive to his customers. I will go back just for excellent service and margaritas ! The upstairs rooftop bar was nice and breezy and the Latin music was nice with chill vibe and atmosphere. Out waiter Omar told us that they have a live band on Saturday. I would like to come back for that one day soon and invite our friends. They had the fans going so we were cool and comfortable the entire time. After my bad experience with my carry out order (see prior review), the owner messaged me directly on Yelp, addressed my concerns and made the following offer: "I would love to invite you and a guest back to dine with us, compliments of Ambriza." I thought this was a really nice gesture and so I took them up on the offer. They made a reservation for my wife and I and we came for lunch today. We ordered the Sopes Trio, Enchiladas Rojas, and the Caldo Azteca. We enjoyed the meal and the service was EXCELLENT. Several workers stopped by to say hi and thanked us for coming. One even said thanks for giving them another try! They brought a warm basket of chips with a red sauce and a green sauce. The red sauce was bland and needed more spice but the green sauce was delicious. I have lived in Guatemala and spent a ton of time in Venezuela, and black beans are a staple in these countries. Black beans are amazing when prepared and seasoned properly. Restaurants usually do a terrible job but their black beans were DELICIOUS!!! We enjoyed our meal but were brought the check. On a cold winter evening, I ordered takeout from Ambriza. Here is my analysis: The chicken empanadas are scrumptious. I could eat them every day! The tostones are decent; however, they lack flavor. They are soggy and hard to chew. The platanos maduros are visually appealing and I appreciate the crema. Sadly, the sweetness of the plantains did not cancel out the tang from the salt. Our hotel concierge recommended this because it was late and she said it was authentic Mexican food and she was not joking. After a half dozen or so amazing visits to Ambriza, I'm happy to share my love for it's Sunday Brunch with my fellow Yeeps! Truly, though, this review is only based on Sunday Brunch. I have no knowledge of their regular menu. I'm partially reluctant to call attention to the brunch, honestly, because as it stands we never have an issue getting a table. Maybe only tell your really close, cool friends about their brunch, mmkay? The staff is super friendly from start to finish. We are always greeted warmly and accommodated quickly. The owner is sometimes even roaming around looking for honest feedback from the patrons as to how they can improve (honestly, they're pretty close to perfect so we never have much feedback to give him other than to keep doing what they're doing). The restaurant itself is simply beautiful. We love looking around at the decor and the diverse seating options. Even the bathroom is cute. There are several gluten free and vegan options for those so inclined. I usually go for the barbacoa and polenta. Also, two words: Mexican coffee. Do it. Unfortunately I kicked my caffeine habit last year but just the smell of it when my husband orders it is delightful.
