**This is for Ambriza Lounge in Katy ONLY.** The actual food/drinks at Ambriza restaurant are amazing. I've been to the Ambriza Lounge 3 times and every time has been terrible. They are always out of something and the service is terrible. But this past Saturday took the cake. We were given menus and my friend and I wanted to share a bottle of Prosecco. Per the menu, it was $30. Well, when we ordered it through the waiter he said it was showing in their system at $60. He called the manager, Lucy over. After they discussed in private he came and told us, "oh sorry, we are out of Prosecco." Well no one at our table belived that. My husband went to the bar ordered the bottle and same thing, it shows up as $60 for the bottle. He showed the bartender and he sold the bottle to him for $30. Initially we were told that they changed the prices in their system 8 days ago, but forgot to change the actual menu they hand out to customers. Then they just resorted to lying to us by saying they just didn't have the bottle instead of honoring the prices on their menu. Also, the bottle is $12 at the store, I undertand restaurant prices. But WOW, they went from $30 to $60 for the bottle!? I found Lucy's manager approach to be completely unprofessional and not sure how she is in a manager role. As much as I love their food, I will not be returning. I hope they figure the lounge situation out because they had a good salsa band, but there are other places in Katy that hire the same salsa bands that Ambriza hires. read more

Ambriza was a good experience. Restaurant decor is very nice and trendy with a cool vibe. Situated in the front of the cinco ranch shopping center. This area is really nice at night. Food was solid but not 5 stars. We had a lot of carne asada tacos and steak n shrimp fajitas. Wife had the pibil tacos and said they were dry. The carne asada was good. We did the table side guac which comes with a ridiculous amount of options to choose from. It was good and fresh. We all had the street corn to start and it was pretty good too. We recently moved here from Az so we are kinda snobs when it comes to good authentic Mexican food and flavors. They introduced to the restaurant immediately as "authentic Mexican food" I'd say maybe it is but I've had much better versions of everything we ordered. Our waiter was so kind and informed us about the style of food in the restaurant. I really appreciated the sugar skull theme of this place. The design was well thought out. I enjoyed the ambiance of this place and will be back. We tried the parillada which consisted of shrimp, chicken, ribs, and fajitas. I loved the shrimp and chicken. Found this place while browsing a spot to meet a friend for drinks and glad I did. The margaritas are DI-VINE. Made with fresh juice and fruits - one really did it for me, and I ain't no lightweight. I tried the pineapple Serrano drink which gives the fruitiness & a little kick- VERY good, especially with the tajin on the rim. I also tried the street corn, want bad - a bit heavy on the mayo, but something maybe to request the next time to go easy on. came here with a friend for lunch and i must say it was very much an experience! The restaurant is such a vibe with beautiful and vibrant art and a very nice ambience. When we first arrived our server Maria asked if it was our first time and explained the menu. She states that everything is cooked fresh and that this place is not tex-mex, but more mexican cusine. As first timers we received complimentary street corn which was absolutely delicious! We came during happy hour and ordered one cucumber serrano margarita and a pineapple orange, both were very refreshing and soooo good! I ordered the chulipitas de lechon and my friend ordered the verdes enchiladas! Everything tasted fresh and made with love. I will definitely recommend friends and family, and will be coming back. After my bad experience with my carry out order (see prior review), the owner messaged me directly on Yelp, addressed my concerns and made the following offer: "I would love to invite you and a guest back to dine with us, compliments of Ambriza." I thought this was a really nice gesture and so I took them up on the offer. They made a reservation for my wife and I and we came for lunch today. We ordered the Sopes Trio, Enchiladas Rojas, and the Caldo Azteca. We enjoyed the meal and the service was EXCELLENT. Several workers stopped by to say hi and thanked us for coming. One even said thanks for giving them another try! They brought a warm basket of chips with a red sauce and a green sauce. The red sauce was bland and needed more spice but the green sauce was delicious. I have lived in Guatemala and spent a ton of time in Venezuela, and black beans are a staple in these countries. Black beans are amazing when prepared and seasoned properly. Restaurants usually do a terrible job but their black beans were DELICIOUS!!! We enjoyed our meal but were brought the check. This was my first visit to Ambriza in Katy, Tx. When we arrived, it was an hour wait so the reception mentioned that they had a rooftop bar upstairs with light bites and appetizers so we decided to do that and wait for our table. After ordering margaritas which were awesome "like fire" and the pastor street tacos & asada quesadillas we were all good and satisfied. Our waiter Omar was the best and he recommended our appetizers who was very attentive to his customers. I will go back just for excellent service and margaritas ! The upstairs rooftop bar was nice and breezy and the Latin music was nice with chill vibe and atmosphere. Out waiter Omar told us that they have a live band on Saturday. I would like to come back for that one day soon and invite our friends. They had the fans going so we were cool and comfortable the entire time. On a cold winter evening, I ordered takeout from Ambriza. Here is my analysis: The chicken empanadas are scrumptious. I could eat them every day! The tostones are decent; however, they lack flavor. They are soggy and hard to chew. The platanos maduros are visually appealing and I appreciate the crema. Sadly, the sweetness of the plantains did not cancel out the tang from the salt.
