This is a small sub shop located in downtown Anchorage. They are only open for lunch and has metered street parking in reasonable walking distance and a commercial parking lot next door. It had a feel like an old Chinese carryout from back home. They have a very small dining area, a couple of tables and bar seating along the windows. The offer exotic subs, a few sides, pizza and drinks. You can get your subs in 6 or 12 inches on white or wheat bread. I ordered a 6 inch reindeer sub with a bag of chips (they don't have fries). I got a bottle drink only because I did not see the fountain drink machine in the back. t took me about 5 to 10 minutes to get my sub and it was delicious. It was very tasty and full of flavor. The sauce they used on it, really set it off. It was also surprisingly filling. I did not even eat my bag of chips. If you are in downtown Anchorage and in the market for a sub, then this should be your spot. They have some very reasonable prices and very delicious food. I recommend checking them out.

It was close to our hotel so we stopped in for lunch. We decided to split a warm smoked salmon sub. My wife doesn't like onions so she asked if they could split the sandwich in half an only put onions on half. No problem. The sandwich was delicious. Not too smoky but lots of salmon and great roasted garlic aioli. But it was expensive. But we liked the sandwich and would return

It has taken me forever to come here! My excuse: I don't work downtown. That seems to be the main clientele here. They are only open for lunch. The menu is pretty simple. Mostly standard subs with some Anchoragian flourishes here and there. (reindeer sausage, Asian-inspired stuff) I got a submarine sandwich classic: roast beef. I was feeling like a big boy, so I decided to take all 12 inches! It came out hot. I was surprised. I didn't specify any toasting (nor did I know it was an option?) As I munched on this girthy sandwich I noticed the warmth absorbing from the enormous trunk of this bread torpedo into my hands was a result of the BREAD being just that FRESH! Fresh from the oven! Impressive! The ingredients were pretty standard, but the taste was better than the sum of its parts! What really hurts though, is the price. This carby shaft of deliciousness set me back $16.50. That's pretty rough for a sandwich.

First time eating at this quaint shop located near the Atwood building. Had the lunch special today. The bread had a nice toast to it and the flavors of the Italian sub were superb. The creamy potato soup was also very good. This is a great sub shop in downtown Anchorage. The service was friendly and timely.

Horrible service. No restooms and worse..hardly any meat on my sandwich. Expensive! Not worth the one star! The coleslaw was unappetizingly made with excessive amounts of vinegar!

Italian sub and homemade chicken soup daily special.

A block from the Marriott downtown and a beautiful day for a stroll while at an all day industry event. I decided to keep it simple and took advantage of the daily special. Soup and sammy. Italian sub with chicken noodles soup. Now they dont brag that their bread is fresh baked same dsy and i dont know if ot is BUT. It tasted fresh baked, wow. I'm always skepticsl of soup out because nine times out of ten it is not homemade. I KNOW THIS WAS. it reminded me of my own recipe and maybe e en a hair better. So good....impressed. my first time here as i usually dont venture downtown for lunch often but when in Rome....i will definitely go back again. When i went there was a line out the door. Locals working in the area obviosly put this joint on their lunch rotation..

It makes no sense to have a menu item called a seafood melt without cheese on it. What the hell is melting?? Nothing.

But on the upside - the beers are great too and fast to arrive, so you won't be thirsty while waiting. Noise level is usually low for being so busy, but it may depend on where you end up getting seated. After this experience I'm done recommending it. They really missed the mark. For starters we got my husband's usual Chipotle steak pizza. Right off the bat I notice it's a weird oval kind of shape. It's not a circle and the pieces don't add up. I'm positive that the someone in the kitchen sliced out the middle the pizza and put it in the box like it wouldn't be noticed. Worst of all. I ordered a pound of their Korean style wings. I usually love these. I thought initially that these are so tiny it's a good thing it's by the weight, not quantity. Well. These were not fit for consumption. I managed to eat two wings that were on the crunchy side. The rest were unfit for consumption. We're talking chicken wing jerky. A bite cracks right through the bone, crunchy marrow, dry translucent meat. What a disappointment. This wouldn't even be something you could feed a dog. So bad. This experience was the worst I've had with Moose's Tooth. It was so disappointing and also weird. Do better.

Unforgivable! I wanted to love this pizza so badly but I cannot allow anyone else to spend $28.00 on a dried out, over cooked order of cheese bread. I was in beautiful Anchorage and…read morewanted to grab some lunch. 49th state brewing was perfect because it wasn't far from my hotel and because it was so cold outside, I didn't want my walk to exceed 15 minutes. I was really hungry so I got there right when they opened at 11 a.m. I was able to be seated immediately and opted to sit upstairs where the tables were lower as compared to downstairs where the tables were high tops. Off the bat the food is phenomenal. For starters I got their popular handmade Bavarian pretzel. It was perfectly seasoned with butter and salt and the pretzel itself was soft and fluffy. It came with a side of cheese which was just as tasty. I was a little nervous it would taste like the melted cheese you eat at an amusement park- but this cheese had fantastic quality. One really neat thing about this brewery is they make their own fountain drinks! I tried the raspberry one and as you can see they aren't shy about the portions! The drink was really good. It had a great flavor to it, and a nice balance. The raspberry wasn't overpowering which I'm grateful for. For my entree I had the Yak burger that came with a side of tater tots. My waiter recommended I get it cooked at medium to keep it juicy. Typically I'm a medium well to well done type of girl, but I decided to trust his judgement and he was right! The burger was huge, messy, and delicious. The medium was definitely a good call. It was juicy but not so red where it would be off putting! Overall, I had a really incredible dining experience at 49th state brewing. And the prices were unbelievably reasonable. My meal came out to about $52 (not including my tip). I would love to come back when it's a bit warmer and sit outside- the views from the restaurant are phenomenal. Also, shout out to my waiter!
