    Potato Latkes (burned)
    Cynthia M.

Noticeable burned latkes. They were black. Service was friendly enough but one of the guys looked really rough. Seemed clean but why is it hard to get food that isn't poor quality anymore? Like anywhere really...

This place is down the road from my neighborhood but it's never on my radar. This is a good place to get a deli sandwich for things you can't find too too often, like a good Rueben, pastrami, roast beef. I got the Deli cold cut: Pastrami, Salami & Corned Beef, Slice of Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Mayonnaise on Choice of Bread. I got sourdough, it was not very fresh or soft which was disappointing. Getting a cold sandwich, or any sandwich, on which you are paying $$ for better be good house made bread. Otherwise it was good. Pickles are not included, they are extra. $1.50. I'd rather go elsewhere for a sandwich. It's nice they have Jewish dishes like latkas, but can't attest to how those taste.

I highly recommend this deli place! I came for the first time today and the gentleman who helped me was very helpful and welcoming! I got the special of the day which tasted delicious and does not hurt the bank! I will be coming back

Bought the Rueben and the Rachael. Both were delicious. Also bought the brownie and the Chicken soup. The chicken soup was just about tasteless. Had to add garlic powder and salt for taste. Almost $40 without drinks!! Terrible price.

Where has this place been on my radar? Being a sandwich fan, I have tried most Anchorage shops, but failed to hit MO's. My mistake! Queried YELP for a Pastrami Sandwich and up pops MO's deli. I thought, ok give them a try. I will definitely be back to this establishment. I'm a Pastrami and Reuben fan and theirs are great. Sandwich comes with large dill pickle. They have salads, soups and several sandwiches and bagels. I'll be back to try some of the other offerings as the Pastrami was fantastic.

I finally went and tried out this deli instead of subway and I'm glad I did! The gentleman at the counter helped me pick out something to eat. I got the Turkey Pastrami regular sandwich which came with a juicy pickle for $13. The sandwich was great! I'd like to try out more food options there. The service was quick. My sandwich was ready in just five minutes. They also have breakfast, and kids eat free on Sundays!

Had the Tuna melt sandwich with chicken soup. The soup was a bit bland just ok. The sandwich has fresh veggies onions were a bit too large for me. The service was friendly and quick needed salt and pepper. Overall we were hungry and it was filling.

We were headed out to watch an ultimate frisbee tournament and stopped by Mo's Deli for some takeout sandwiches. Friendly atmosphere with personalized service from seasoned staff. It was fun just watching the teamwork between Jason the owner, Bill the creator, and the rest of the crew. You could tell they cater to large numbers, so our order was a snap. Mo's offers such a great selection of fresh sandwiches created right in front of you. High-quality meat and fixings; just look at how appetizing they appear on a sunny, summer day! Best picnic ever and they were so tasty and satisfying, we don't even remember if our son's team won or not :)

    Pastrami

Incredible. Had the pastrami. Best sandwich I ever remember having. Service was great. Ambiance was great.

Welp, Anchorage has a legit Jewish deli now, we're comin' up in the world! I ordered a pastrami Reuben, chicken noodle soup, and a coffee. Coffee was self-serve, which is my favorite way to do coffee. The rueben was probably one of the best Ruebens I've ever had. Meat was very flavorful with just the right amount of salty bite! My only criticism is that it took a long time to come up, but they apologized and gave me a coupon, so no worries!

In a hurry and happened by this sandwich shop. When I entered the shop in price a good sized spot that was empty on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered the tuna salad Sandwich which came with lightly toasted sourdough (I think) with lettuce and tomato. Much to my disappointment the sandwich left much to be desired. The tuna itself was bland and without and taste, the lettuce was a little wilted and browning. About the way part of the sandwich was the bread. The staff was courteous and the restaurant was clean. I'd go back and try something else but I'll stay away from the tuna next time.

The family that owns and operates this gem is Greek and they are not only amazing cooks, but they care about their community!! I have been there eating several times this winter and obviously homeless people would come to the door and be given water, hot soup, half a sandwich, etc. that just made me love this place more. Now to the food. First of all I had the meatball sub which was not only delicious but super filling. The meat was very well seasoned, and the fresh basil just made the marinara pop even more, add the freshly shaved Parmesan cheese and you've got something special. The homemade bread puts this thing into overdrive! Crispy on the outside, light, delicate but not falling apart and heavy enough to hold together all that deliciousness without being filling like you just ate a large pizza. Now to the ridiculous tomato basil soup. I love the clam chowder but the tomato basil is my favorite. Savory, full of flavor, smooth, creamy and not greasy. This in my opinion is the perfect pairing to the meatball sub. You're welcome! The customer service here is amazing too just like the owners and the food. You will always be greeted by a smiling face, and treated like family. You will not regret stopping here. I've eaten the Meatball sub, The Philly, the lasagna and The Gyro ( lamb and chicken) all have been 10 out of 10. The ambiance is like a neighborhood dinner with a small dining room. You will love it!

If you're near Snow City Cafe and don't want to wait 18 hrs, this is a great backup option for scrumptious food downtown! Maybe you could get away with staying in the loading zone? Hit or miss because you don't know how long it'll take to get your order if you just walk in. I got the Holy Grail. It was very good! By the time I was 2/3 in the meat became very salty and I almost couldn't finish it. Might need something more to cut the saltiness of the meat or more vinegar, and cheese, not very much of either on the sandwich. A little spendy for lunch, but worth it once in awhile. I also got the "meal" which was Mac and cheese(or salad) and a bite of one of their desserts. The Mac and cheese was HEAVY on either garlic or truffle, it was a little much. But it was good overall just not your regular Mac and cheese taste. The brownie was very good, dark chocolate. With the meal you get like 1/4 of one of their regular bars. Next time I would try the grilled cheese or back to the future sandwich. The lady making the sandwiches I think was the owner, there was also another lady helping out. I wish she would have explained things a little more like what the desserts were, I didn't realize they were right in front of me when choosing. And she didn't ask if I wanted Mac and cheese or salad with my meal. The owner you could tell took her work seriously and she loves her craft!

Unfortunate that this is the day I decided it was about time I left a review for House Of Bread…read more House of Bread is a lovely space, airy light dining room, and lots of baked goods, and artisanal-looking jarred goods. It feels very open. They have a menu on the wall, and a chalkboard with the types of bread available that day. Husband orders cheesy broccoli soup, and she tells him "it's not really cheesy broccoli soup, it's got lots of veggies in it too" ok, he says, but still orders a bowl. I choose Tuna Salad, and I select 14 grain as my bread choice - "sorry, we're out of that", so I then choose 9 grain - "sorry, we're out of that", and so I ask for marbled rye - "sorry, we're out of that too" I'm really quite surprised, as it's 12.30 like prime lunch time, and they're out of 3 breads already? Maybe cross them off your chalkboard, so you don't have to keep disappointing people. So i choose focaccia with my fingers crossed, and all was well. The order was complete at 12.36. We sit. We wait. Twiddling our fingers. By 20 minutes I'm becoming impatient, because I'm hangry, and the dining room is not that full - maybe 5 tables. As there are 4 staff working behind the counter (could be more round the back in the bakery) I think service could be faster, to dish up a bowl of premade soup, and assemble a cold tuna salad sandwich. Anyway i get my eye on the young man making sandwiches. He's not wearing gloves, is running his fingers through his hair, and touching his face. I see a sandwich that was on the top of the shelf, and it either fell, or he threw it, onto presumably a bench below, and then reach up angrily for a new bag of bread, I don't know - maybe he made it wrong, and was starting over. By 1.02, (26 minutes later) husband could take it no more and went to get a refund. This is not the review I expected to be leaving today, as I've never had service like this here before. I've never gone here before and had to choose my bread 4 times, due to them running out. I've never had to wait so long for lunch using pre-made ingredients. I don't know what was going on, but it's nothing like all the other times we've been here, and I hope it's a one off. If I go back and see the same staff, I'll just walk straight out again and avoid another experience like this one.

My friend wanted to stop by on her way from work & I remembered how impressed I was back in the Fall. I don't know what happened between then and now but I won't be going back. We stopped in just after 5pm, Thursday April 2nd. I saw a few things I was interested in buying for the family, but I had the feeling someone was staring at us. I looked up and saw the younger girl with multi-colored hair glaring at us while the older girl with colored hair was stacking chairs on tables. Google said they closed at 6pm, so I'm assuming she was mad we were interrupting their pre-close. After seeing the flattest "brownies", flatter than a cookie, the soggy zucchini bread with no date on the wrapper, the glare from the young girl behind the register and not one single "Hi" from the 3 employees working, ( the 3rd one was eating a sandwich behind the counter), I decided not to buy a single thing & not to ever come back. My friend bought 4 items & the glaring girl only spoke when she said the total, not even a "Would you like a bag?", "Thank You", "Enjoy your bread" or "Have a good night." Too bad.
