Food was not hot when it got here. It had great flavor though. The portions were small to average sized.

Best handmade pasta I have ever had!…read more Saying I'm a pasta aficionado is a gross understatement. My answer to the "if you could only eat one thing..." question has been pasta, for as long as I could vocalize that word. I've made my own at home. I've bought artisan, hand-cut pastas at markets all over the western US. I've brought back pasta from Italy. Never have I been so delighted with unsauced pasta as the moment I discovered La Grassa. Karl and Rebecca are the husband and wife team behind LG. They met in culinary school and did an intensive in Italy together, and they are clearly a match made in gastronomic heaven. Their vegan ravioli options are particularly incredible. I fell in love with La Grassa for their golden beet and goat cheese, but it was the charred kale and white bean vegan ravioli that brought a tear to my eye and currently tops my list of favorites. Those don't tickle your fancy? Not to worry. Every week, they have hand-cut spinach and regular noodles in three different thicknesses, strozzapretti, at least two kinds of ravioli that rotate regularly, and usually at least one other option - potato gnocchi, parmesan and kale gnoccheti, or some other delightful surprise. Stop by the Wednesday Market at the Sears Mall and pick up some ravioli. $8 for 6 oz - usually 8 or 9 pieces. I rarely have life-changing food adventures, but this is one of them. Don't miss out.

After my husband and I…read morerecently attempted to make ravioli and fettuccini by hand, I gained a whole new respect for the stuff. It tastes better fresh but is definitely labor intensive and time consuming. The ravioli I got was perfectly stuffed with roasted golden beets, tart goat cheese, and almonds. I ate it with a simple improvised pesto made of olive oil and Italian seasonings and it was grrreeeat. I haven't tried the spinach tagliatelle yet but I assume it will be equally delicious. There are directions in the bag saying how long to boil each variety. The guy who sold the pasta was the owner/chef (with his fiancé) and was really nice and passionate about his pasta. I recommend everyone go get some, then turn around and buy a dozen macaroons at sweet caribou. I will definitely go back for seconds!

For me, coming here in the future my place will be at the bar with appetizers. Bar environment is 5/5 As far as the rest goes I think the food is good, not spectacular. 3/5. In the future I think I'd come for an appetizer and a couple of drinks and that's it. I felt the veal was tough on both ordered plates and potentially I would have preferred chicken. That being said the sauce was great. The grappa sauce had amazing flavor and the Marsala sauce also had great flavor. Plus the funghi appetizer was great with the bread. All of it was enjoyable enough for a return visit. This spot has very friendly staff, they move at a classic Alaska pace. Meant for sitting down and enjoying the company of someone you're eating with but not designed for getting in and out the door quickly. Come with the intention to get things as they come and enjoy the ride.

There was some mix up and we didn't get our salad and instead got someone else's big order of breadsticks. Yeah I was looking forward to the salad but my husband wasn't upset about it. The food arrived nice and hot and with cutlery and cheese packets. My chicken was nice and crispy but I wish it would have had some more sauce. For my husband I wish they would have put his fried chicken on top so it wouldn't be soggy from being under the sauce. But overall good. This time I even had a good Zuppa Toscana and it had lots of meaty chunks I enjoyed. The fried ravioli appetizer was also savory and had a meaty mushroom like taste. The dessert was rich! Yeah pricy for a single slice but oh so good. I enjoyed it very much and I'll keep ordering Olive Garden to go when I'm too busy to dine in.

The family that owns and operates this gem is Greek and they are not only amazing cooks, but they care about their community!! I have been there eating several times this winter and obviously homeless people would come to the door and be given water, hot soup, half a sandwich, etc. that just made me love this place more. Now to the food. First of all I had the meatball sub which was not only delicious but super filling. The meat was very well seasoned, and the fresh basil just made the marinara pop even more, add the freshly shaved Parmesan cheese and you've got something special. The homemade bread puts this thing into overdrive! Crispy on the outside, light, delicate but not falling apart and heavy enough to hold together all that deliciousness without being filling like you just ate a large pizza. Now to the ridiculous tomato basil soup. I love the clam chowder but the tomato basil is my favorite. Savory, full of flavor, smooth, creamy and not greasy. This in my opinion is the perfect pairing to the meatball sub. You're welcome! The customer service here is amazing too just like the owners and the food. You will always be greeted by a smiling face, and treated like family. You will not regret stopping here. I've eaten the Meatball sub, The Philly, the lasagna and The Gyro ( lamb and chicken) all have been 10 out of 10. The ambiance is like a neighborhood dinner with a small dining room.
