    Carmel roll

Nice local spot! Has a very homey feel, the bagels and baked goods are very tasty and well made. The staff was nice and had the food ready very quick. Will frequent this place more often for sure!

Known for their natural and fresh bread, House of Bread has anything you could need. Sweet breads, savory breads, and my favorite; lunch items! Their cold cut sandwhiches are no frills but so delicious. I've ordered in person and via doordash. Honorable mentions to the raspberry rolls and their white chocolate raspberry bread.

Got the cinnamon roll and croissant which were pretty good. Wide selection of bread and sandwich options

Hf Cranky Trky on Honey Whole Wheat. I recommend Great Harvest Bread or Sara's Too instead if you're looking for a good sandwich.

$11.05 for half a sandwich that advertises that it includes cranberries, not craisins. A loaf of the same bread costs $10. Not sure why they charge $11 for half a sandwich.

The Cranky Turkey Sandwich: without cream cheese though we asked for cheddar as substitute and didn't get that either!

They've run out of cream cheese on a Saturday morning, there are three young women making sandwiches, and 3 tables waiting for their orders! The three that are suppose to be making sandwiches are too busy talking too actually do anything.

House Of Bread is located on the old Seward Highway close to Dimond . They have a nice variety of breads ,and other baked goods. There's a nice dining area and in the summer they have a very small outdoor dining area. They serve soup and sandwiches and cinnamon rolls ,and a nice variety of savory and sweet baked goods. The staff is pleasant .This is a great place to grab a fresh loaf of bread or a quick lunch or snack.

My little brother told me about this place and me and my wife loved it. The paninis were great. We loved all the different pastries and deserts that they had made fresh. The shop also sells a lot of Alaskan based foods. A nice gem

The bread was pretty underwhelming and expensive. Emily was the best thing about this place. She was so friendly, hospital, and accommodating! Second best thing: the samples. I got a loaf of sourdough and one chocolate and one almond croissant for $15. The croissants were dense and chewy. More like a dinner roll. The almond croissant wasn't like other almond croissants with marzipan-like filling; it had chopped up nuts and cinnamon sugar... seemed like a pecan roll more than an almond croissant. The sourdough was really disappointing :( sourdough in Alaska is amazing and this was just like a regular loaf of bread... mild sourdough flavor and soft like a dense loaf of white bread. The samples were really fun! I love to see samples at restaurants and bakeries to help inform future purchases. I sampled the lemon cake, cinnamon bread, and bread pudding. Unfortunately the best way to describe all of them is dry.

I always want to love this place but I just don't. My husband feels that my lower 48 food expectations get in the way but it shouldn't be hard for a bakery/soup/sandwich place to make an incredibly tasty sandwich. For starters the sandwich choices are very limited. It's mainly cold sandwiches with bland toppings. It would be beneficial for them to have more sauce options (like savory sauces, maybe a chipotle sauce). Basically it's mayo and mustard from what I see and they don't add much to the sandwich. I'm sorry y'all I'm picky about sandwiches. The sourdough bread is just ok. I'd love to see more hot sandwich options like paninis with maybe an herb mayo or something to that effect. Service was decent. The price point is not bad with the amount of sandwich you get at $12 bucks for a whole sandwich. Goodness someone please season these sandwiches and add some sauce! Ok ok I'll get off my soap box now. Maybe just maybe they will incorporate some of these suggestions. Ambiance is cute but again it's cold in there and they have a fireplace that's not even lit. Also it's the holidays and I love that y'all decorated some but can y'all play a little music for Pete's sake?! Now I'm done.

It's just a cute place to vibe at and be around the community. There is a coffee shop, plant shop, juice shop and small market in the same building which makes it worth the stop. The seasonal ginger bread chia tea from the coffee shop is like Christmas in your mouth. The turkey sandwich is like thanksgiving with cranberry sauce and pecans. The sweet potato burban cupcake was actually to die for. The cake was moist with a carm filling of pecans and bourbon topped with a light cream cheese frosting. The sausage was good though, and a bit salty, which might have balanced the seasoning in this item but the chunks were too few and big to be balanced. - messy egg salad sandwich: a lot of dill, heavy on the pickled flavor, and good red onion crunch. This was just ok. It looked better than it tasted, unless you're a fan of dill. Mainly got this sandwich to try their bread but the bread was an afterthought. - maple rhubarb muffin: hard pass. Can't taste the rhubarb and barely any maple. The bottom also was more burnt than anything. It seems they may have over mixed their batter, muffin didn't have a tender crumb.

I didnt take a picture because it was so cold out and my hands were frozen, but it was a beautiful, elongated bakery treat. It had lovely purple Ube cream and touch of oreo crumbs on top, the base was essential much like a flat cruller, but if higher quality. It was sensational! I bought my husband something that looked lower carb that had coffee cream that also enjoyed. I got my husband custom cold jasmine sugar free tea, and I got a frosty honeydew melon drink. It was a little spendy, but its nice to have a treat one on a while.

It's like a croissant baked in a waffle form, but a bit denser than a regular croissant. What really made it special was the Ube cream -- a light, buttery frosting that wasn't too sweet. Easily a 10/10 for me. I also ordered the Ube Cruffin, which had that same croissant-like texture in a muffin shape. The inside had a light cream filling, and the top was covered with the same Ube cream. It was good, but not quite as amazing as the Croffle -- 7/10. The Ham Banh Mi was tasty and filling (6/10), and the Boba Milk Tea was decent too (6/10). Oh and I got to taste their smoked salmon chowder that my friend ordered. Very good flavor, body, and richness (8/10). Everything I had was good but nothing that was as memorable as the Ube Croffle, but it wasn't cheap -- I spent a total $32 for a sandwich, drink and 2 pastries. Then again, prices in Alaska tend to be higher in general. Overall, even though I've only been once, I'd definitely come back for that Ube Croffle -- it was the real highlight!

Each tart had its own unique flavor, perfectly balanced and not too sweet, which made it way too easy to keep reaching for another. The chocolate raspberry cake was a standout--rich, moist, and layered with just the right amount of tartness from the raspberry filling. What really surprised me was how satisfying everything tasted without feeling heavy or overly sweetened--and even better, it didn't spike my blood sugar the way most desserts do. You can tell there's intention behind the ingredients and how everything is made. They also have plenty of other baked goods like cookies, brownies, and more, so there's definitely something for everyone. It looked like a fritter but it's topped with a dollop of cream cheese frosting so maybe it's some kind of cinnamon roll. It wasn't labeled so I'm not sure. I almost passed out when I had to pay 5.75 for a 12oz mocha. Their rent must be extremely high here. None of their menus on the counter or the wall had any prices, well they did but they blacked them out. None of the specials had prices, the food too. So they can change them how they see fit. I just don't really like that business practice, I think it's kind of shady. They are way too high as well. Nobody should be paying that for espresso. Mocha did taste decent though, and not too hot which I appreciate I didn't burn my mouth. The worker was very quiet and when I left she sat on the couch with her phone.
