An amazing brunch! Like most folks, we stopped by Agora to check out its bottomless food and drink (mimosas and Bloody Marys) brunch for about $48. The brunch style is set up where you will order a few (or a bunch) of small plates for about 2 hours or less. You do not need to order everything at once because the food will come out pretty fast. If you are small group (e.g., 2-3 people), it might be better to sit at the bar because you can order your food and beverages directly from the bartender (i.e., you will not have to wait for a server). My favorites were: smoked salmon, HTipiti (roasted red pepper, feta, and thyme), Gavurdagi (cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, walnuts, and pomegranate, and Kiymali Eggs Benedict (lamb, strip steak, poached egg). One tip: The serving bread is REALLY delicious, so do not fill up on it. Since this place is VERY popular, you definitely should make reservations for your Turkish brunch experience. read more

I visited during Winter 2024 restaurant week for lunch since I had heard good things about Agora. I made a reservation just to be safe and once I entered, I was seated very quickly too. I ordered the spreads for starters: the hummus and labneh were more delicious than the htipiti. I dare to say the best hummus I have ever eaten at a restaurant. The unlimited pita served with the spreads was so soft, thin, and tasty. One of the tastiest pitas I have ever eaten at a restaurant. I ordered Adana kebab for the second course: although it was not delicious, it was still juicy and flavorful, with the correct balance of seasonings. Sadly, no sides were included with it. However, I would still recommend this dish. I ordered the Turkish baklava for dessert and was disappointed by the taste. Compared to other baklava I have eaten elsewhere, the taste was off, as if it was weeks old. read more

Went with a group of 4 and it was such a fun time! The bottomless drinks and food are pristine. Our server kept topping up our mimosas and checked regularly on us in case we wanted more food. For dinner, we tried an array of dishes, including the Taramosalata, Sucuklu Pide, Ottoman Rice, fried cauliflower, grilled prawns, Kofte, and the Anadolu Manti. Each plate was delicious, showcasing bold flavors and expert preparation. I highly recommend the Anadolu Manti -- these dumplings were amazing. The small plate style is perfect for sharing, and I'd recommend ordering about three dishes per person to fully explore the menu. The Pistachio Soufflé for dessert was perfect--light, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was exceptional. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and offered thoughtful recommendations that truly elevated our experience. To top it all off, the decor and ambiance created a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it a great spot for a memorable evening out. **I will say, this restaurant automatically adds a 3% surcharge to all checks. This does not take the place of gratuity, and is explained as a way for the restaurant to keep up with increasing expenses, etc.. While the check notes that you can request the removal of this surcharge, I really don't like this and wish they would simply raise the cost of each menu item. Agora is like a warm hug on a cold day but for your stomach. There's something about the ingredients used that make you feel safe and seen all at once. I just keeps saying "mmmmm yum". I'm not from DC so this was a first time visit for me. I tipped extra to my uber driver just for the great recommendation. The staff was fantastic and had some amazing knowledge on the food. When I didn't eat most of a plate because MY palette didn't enjoy it they took it off my bill.. I was willing to pay for it because I ordered it. I've had this restaurant on my list for a long time, and I'm glad I finally had the chance to visit! The interior is so cute and the service is an absolute high point of the experience. We were VERY well taken care of! The food is good, but it doesn't quite reach the price point across the board. We love the dips sampler with delicious warm pita--better than Zaytinya's! Everything else was fine but not a standout. The Brussels and cauliflower, for instance, were a little bland. The king shrimp were cool and presented well but not worth the price. If you're looking for a reasonably-priced brunch with bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary's, this is the spot for you. The food is okay, with little flavor in many of their items. The truffled deviled eggs really just tasted like boiled eggs, and the dips were underwhelming except for the acuka (red paste one). Surprisingly, the cherry jam and butter really helped elevate their cheeses and added a much needed flavor to their items. Other than the acuka, my other favorite item was the baklava french toast WITHOUT the syrup it came with. It tasted just like simple syrup. Would I come back? We went here during restaurant week. We had a early reservation, when we arrived we were seated right away. The restaurant is really nice and quaint inside. Erick our server was fantastic he took time and went over the menu with us. It was a four course meal. First we started out with the beet root salad. It came on a bed on rose water inspired greek yogurt. It was flavorful and light a great way to start a meal. Next we both selected the Fethiye Kabak roasted zucchini stuffed with rice and ground beef on a bed if greek yogurt. This was very flavorful and filling. The third course we had Lamb Chops and Keske. The Keske was really good just the right amount. The Lamb Chops were cooked perfect with really good flavor. The only thing I would say is that they had a little to much fat left on them. The last course was the dessert we both got the Kazandibi which I would say was really different in a good way. It was not very sweet, but being made from rice paste and tree gum it was gummy. All in all it was a really good meal and I would recommend going to Agora if you are in D.C. and looking for some good Turkish food. read more

Agora DC is a mediocre, at best, bottomless brunch spot. Plenty of better options. The overall vibes are nice; great music and beautiful setting. However, the food was mediocre, bottomless drinks were slow flowing, and the service was abysmal. When our waiter filled our cups, he would pour less than 2/3rd the way up (see picture). Additionally, the waiter almost never checked on us, making it impossible to order an additional mimosa. It was a struggle to get more than 3 mimosas during our 2 hour reservation. Also, whenever we asked for a second plate, the waiter and running staff forgot our order. At one point, they brought out the wrong plate to us. We tried it and told the waiter that we don't think it's what we ordered. The waiter apologized, grabbed the plate and served it to the table next to us! WHAT! That's nasty. We tried to stop the waiter to tell him but he stormed back to the kitchen without paying much attention to his surroundings. I would avoid Agora. read more

Stopped here for a late lunch and there was no wait. Had asked to sit at the bar but unfortunately they're closed during lunch service. There was still plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. We went to Agora for Valentine's Day and were blown away. It was a five course menu with two options per course -- everything was phenomenal, even the dishes I didn't love (blue cheese flatbread, for example) were well made, and I could tell that if someone was crazy for the ingredients they would have been happy. The ambiance was romantic and upscale, and the service matched the prices and vibe. Cocktails were fantastic, and even though it was clear they were super busy, we didn't feel rushed or neglected. They even gave us a palette cleanser course of orange sherbet which really made it feel like a luxurious experience. I definitely want to go back to try their regular menu! The lamb chops and the branzino were standouts. Had a nice decaf espresso after our meal to round out the night. Absolutely recommend! read more

Went here for a Sunday brunch! Mimosas were filled plentifully and always without asking which I appreciate! The menu is bottomless so they bring you everything except you order one main entree. We asked for refills on certain spreads and promptly received them. Almost everything was a hit. Some things were good, not great. Pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! Our waiter explained that the dishes come in small portions so they recommend 3 dishes per person to get full. Me and my friend went for it! We ordered the spread sampler (worth it) and the cauliflower, rice, grape leaves, kabob and branzino. Came here for a birthday brunch with a large group. Thank you to the staff accommodating us. The music being played was different from the theme of the restaurant so it is your typical DC brunch places with a floral ambiance. I love Mediterranean food so I was excited to try this place out but quickly disappointed I'm afraid. The location the private room is right by the bathroom so it's not so private for your party. Since we were a large party, we did the brunch style menu where they just bring everything out in multiple small plates and unlimited mimosa. It was mostly spreads and dips with eggs and turkey bacon. Some of it I liked and others I did not. For it being $86 person is what threw me off. The food was not filling. read more

3.5 stars. Came for brunch and we were seated immediately with a reservation which was great since they were so crowded but then we sat for 20 minutes and no one greeted us. We watched the table next to us be greeted and have food on their table within five minutes AFTER we arrived. We were waiting on one more person but not so much as a hi or offer to get us started with coffee or explain how brunch works so that left a sour taste right off the bat. Overall a decent brunch. They kept the mimosas filled and they bring you out everything so no need to request certain items. You get to choose an egg dish which is nice but I wish we were able to try more. Eggs could have used salt and all the meats were pretty overcooked. Dips and bread were great and the french toast was just okay. Service was okay. They were packed and there were 1 or 2 waiters working the entire area. We weren't ever really able to flag people down to order things (never managed to order a coffee). It's very cute on the inside but the atmosphere was way too loud. We were screaming at each other. Definitely sit outside if you can. Brunch was overall okay but wouldn't come back. read more

Had a girls dinner the other night at Agora, and I just kept having Deja-vu! I really feel like I've been there before, but I can't pin point when. Regardless, I'm always a fan of tapas and they didn't disappoint. A great option for a larger party, and the staff were super accommodating when we requested to sit outside instead. One of our friends was also moving, and they gave her a little treat! My favorite items were the grilled prawns, octopus, and cauliflower. TOO GOOD! Agora, please come to NYC!! Would go back to DC just get dinner here and have my new favorite cocktail - mystic flora! A friend from DC recommended this spot to us and it did not disappoint and was the highlight of our trip. Get the Mystic Flora cocktail or the Aroma and all the dips - we loved the babaganoush and the Htipiti (red pepper and feta). The pita is so soft!! Me and my wife stopped by for a casual dinner and were pleasantly impressed. First off parking is hell so come early and shark around to find a spot and try not to get a ticket. I was really surprised with the ambiance of the restaurant itself when I walked in. It was absolutely gorgeous, so casual yet so elegant. Server was very attentive and able to look over us without being too pushy. Food was on another level. We got the grilled chicken, 2 flatbreads, (forgot the name lmao) and a pasta dish that was so incredible I forgot the name of it lol. We went to Agora for a Sunday brunch. The menu is a bottomless brunch that includes a ton of food and drink. The only thing you pay extra for is some of the cocktails (but with mimosas included in the main price, we didn't need any additional drinks). You begin the feast with a bunch of different starters. My favorites were the Acuka and the Labneh, but they were all very good. You also get to select one of the egg dishes. I went for the Sucuk. The sausage had good flavor, but the eggs were kind of bland. My wife had the Classic Eggs Benedict and really liked it. All of the egg dishes come with a side of potatoes which were really good. After all of that, they wrap it up with some French Toast and Greek yogurt. We definitely didn't leave hungry! The service was very good on a busy day - the staff was a very attentive and cleared dished and brought new ones in a timely manner. We enjoyed a truly excellent lunch last week at Agora. We were looking for an interesting restaurant near Dupont Circle. We already have one or two places that we enjoy but were wanting to find another. Agora is absolutely one restaurant that we will return to. It was a warm day and so we decided to sit outside. There is a nice outside seating area that's covered-which helps both with sun and rain. The hostess greeted us in a very friendly way and showed us to our table. Our server Anthony N came shortly and offered us both water and excellent thick crusted bread. Anthony was absolutely amazing. As this was our first visit to Agora, he made several suggestions that were absolutely on target. The first was to choose the Spread Sampler. Each of the spreads was excellent, we especially enjoyed the humus, and baba ganoush. And of course the bread provided was first rate. We chose two mezzeh dishes, the Bruksel Lahana which is grilled brussels sprouts, the other the Mixed Mushrooms. Each of these dishes were extremely well seasoned, well sized and delicious. The mushrooms were al dente - nice and firm while being cooked to perfection. Our desserts, OMG. The Kunefe was very good. I have not had this dessert since my visit to an Arab village. To be honest, Agora's version was not quite as good, but it was still really satisfying. The chocolate Bavaroise was a bit rich for me, but my wife loved it. It was my wife's birthday and they gave us 2 pieces of baklava. Also very good. This was not too sweet and relatively light. I've had better, but this was good. We will absolutely return to Agora. It's a restaurant where the staff appear to be well treated and they in turn take good care of their customers. read more

For the evening, we ordered the scallops, grilled octopus, Branzino, grilled prawns, lamb chops and grilled chicken. As I mentioned earlier, every single dish was flavorful and cooked to perfection. I mentioned to my friend that the grilled chicken was one of the best things I've ordered from a restaurant in a very long time (and let's just say that is very high praise coming from me lol). It came with a basket of flat bread, 5 different spreads plus spiced olive oil. All were very good and plenty for four. We then got several small plates. All were delicious. The branzino was my favorite, so fresh and cooked perfectly. We also enjoyed the scallops and Ottoman rice. The mixed mushrooms were a large bowl cooked in a savory broth.
