Pinnapple jack'd
Amber P.

So we dipped in here for a bite and to get out of the cold. Honestly, had no idea what I was in for. We sat at the bar ordered a Margarita and pinnapple pizza. Both were fast and tasty! The bar tender seemed new but he made great drinks, gave really good food recommendations and chatted just enough to be friendly without being to extra. The menue does have some great options and variety of pizzas and crafted cocktails. (I still prefer a Margarita, so he obliged). Highly recommend!!

I'm staying at Hotel Hive and feel so very lucky to be doing so. &Pizza is the onsite restaurant serving the main lobby and the rooftop bar. It looks like there are several locations all across the DC metro area. The bartender recommended I try the American Honey - naturally I withheld the greens (arugula). The pizza was fantastic. I don't typically rave about crust... but holy s**t the crust was the best I've ever had. Got a side cup of ranch to dip it in. Hats off &Pizza - you guys crushed it!

I missed &pizza so much in NY that I had to get some while I was in DC. It was very fortunate that the hotel I stayed at had an &pizza on site. What's nice about this place is that you can customize your pie and it costs the same amount of money. I got a pie with traditional tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, shredded mozzarella, corn, grilled onion, italian sausage, chicken, bacon, pepperoni, and bbq + pesto drizzle to finish it off. It tasted like the day I lost you. I'm glad I got to try &pizza again!

Came here and ordered the lunch deal half pizza. Two of the employees were working very hard during the lunch rush and one of them was just sitting on his phone the whole time. It took 40 minutes for my party of 3 to get our pizzas. One lady said she had been waiting there her entire lunch break. Pizza was good. One of the hardworking employees gave us free cookies and apologized for the wait.

Impressed! We didn't realize as we walked up to the store front with 2 outside doors that they were locked and you must enter from the hotel. SO GLAD we did. You enter the small lobby, to the right is the hotel bar and dining area and to the left is the entrance doors to &Pizza. As we walked toward the doors we were immediately & enthusiastically welcomed by the hotel associate, Q. She immediately helped is with THE best information as we thought we just were to go into the store & order, BUT she advised us if we wanted table service to utilize the hotel bar area or offered the rooftop bar. It was a very cold afternoon and the seating in the bar looked warm and comfortable, so we sat there. What a great experience as our waitress was another VERY helpful and bubbly associate. The look in general is industrial with if course little nuisances of a bee Hive theme. Restrooms were VERY clean as well. This was our first time trying &Pizza at this location and we were VERY impressed. It was better than we experienced at another location near our house that we never returned. I ordered my The Outlaw without bacon. Unfortunately when it came out, our waitress questioned and took it back to ask if they put bacon on it. Was hard for me to see it, but luckily she knew. Took it back right away and returned later with the newly made pie, which was hot and DELICIOUS! My husband ordered the CBR which he also enjoyed, but those Fresno peppers started to get to him, bit TOO spicy, and picked most of them off. They were very accommodating for the special order and sitting down and having tableside service after day of walking around was perfect. Since it's been a long time since going to &Pizza, not sure if soda refills are 1 price, but that would be my only complaint as we were charged double for 1 refill. But everything else far exceeded our expectations for &Pizza plus THE best thing was being at Hotel Hive! They have some outdoor tables at the storefront which is elevated off the sidewalk, so you don't feel like your "in the street " or in walkers way. I will say, we noticed it does get busy the closer to 6p you get. There were NO service charges for cash vs credit nor any DC restaurant fee added. So a bonus there. We did decide to check out the rooftop bar for future reference since we occasionally are in that area and DO plan to return. The elevator shaft is ADORABLE. They paid attention to the theme details of Hive everywhere, from the lighting fixtures to colors and yes the elevator shaft was painted yellow with bees and abstract designs making you feel you were in a beehive of honey. BUT if you are little claustrophobic, the elevator is only 4 person small with glass walls, but it's a tight fit even though your only going a short distance. It was not the fastest, so walking stairs might be necessary option if tight space doesn't work for you.

On a recent trip to DC, I was bummed that a pizza place I had eaten at several times had closed. I searched out a new to me restaurant where I could get a gluten pizza. And boy did I enjoy the GF flatbread pizza I ordered from &pizza. The choices of toppings were superior to others, ingredients fresh and staff very friendly. The crust was a bit too hard on the outer edges, which is not uncommon for GF dough. An overall excellent experience and I shall be back.

I got the Maverick pizza and it was good but the portion size was too small for the price that it was. They had a $9.99 deal for 1 topping on a cheese pizza but it doesn't apply to pepperoni. If you want to add pepperoni then it becomes the Lil Roni pizza which costs $12-13 dollars. They should list what toppings are included in the deal. This &pizza location had seating areas and a bar inside the hotel for us to dine in.

Stayed at the Hotel Hive next doors. Very good service, many fresh ingredients, the crust is thin, crunchy outside with chewy inside. Pizzas are rectangular and pretty but, can be split for 2 people at $12, it's great value. They cook quick in 2-3mins. Plenty of seating outside.

The crust is sooooo yummy.

Amazing! This is a total choose-your-own adventure pizza place. Yeah, they have a couple recipes you can order, but most people make their own. First, you choose your sauce and cheese. There are 2 tomato based sauces, a pest and a white. Then, you choose your cooked toppings. There are quite a few meat, veggie options + pineapple of course. Now it's time to pay while they cook your pizza. THEN! The real magic happens. Once your pizza is cooked you can add the finishing touches like olives, arugula, hot honey, fig balsamic, pickles onions, ranch. Loads of options. There didn't appear to be any seating inside but there are tables outside. Some are covered. The lines moves really fast. The crust was so scrumptious. Would not hesitate to come back all the time.

Excellent pizza located not too far from Lincoln memorial. Seating area is cozy, great for people watching. Recommend to order cia the app so you don't have to wait too long

Build a pizza with grilled onions, arugula, truffle ranch, pepperoni, and pineapple.

Got a build a pizza with grilled onions, arugula, truffle ranch, pepperoni, and pineapple. The inside is actually quite small and doesn't have any indoor dining space. It does have a very modern and unique vibrance to it though. Staff is so kind and sweet! They were very attentive and had incredibly fast service! Pizza (5/5): every bite was scrumptious and had great flavor! They have such unique flavors, toppings, and sauces (including truffle ranch!) Make sure to use the coupons online, and build your own pizza!

They have a great window that opens up, with some seats on the outside during summer. To go? You can easily order through their website for pickup, or they have a bustling delivery game through the normal apps. To go cocktails? They're one of the few places still offering them. A nice margarita to enjoy on a walk around the neighborhood sets the perfect cozy Sunday mood. And their margaritas are good. I prefer the classic shaken variety, but they also offer frozen options. We have ordered one shaken and one frozen mango and mixed them together to get the best of both worlds. They're surprisingly potent, too. For food, they are one of the better Mexican spots in town. The chicken tinga quesadilla and beef birria tacos are very good. I don't love their other taco options, but that is easily outweighed by everything they do well. For the mix of quality and convenience, they are top notch.

The service at the front while we were waiting and while we were served was really good and for being such a super crowded day and big event, we received our food super fast - to the point where we were all surprised. This was great though because we were super hungry. To reward ourselves for waiting in the line, we also got drinks, which I'll say were kind of the downer of the experience for me. I ordered a spicy tamarindo drink, which was suuuuuper strong. Then, I tried a friends watermelon drink and hers was even stronger. I don't want to judge the drinks based on this visit alone, since it was so crowded and a lot of people were coming in just for drinks, but if that's how the drinks are typically, then I don't need another drink from here again. I hope it was just a bad day but for me, my drink was almost undrinkable. Another friend ordered a frozen margarita which, by the time it reached us, didn't resemble anything frozen at all. Again, this could be just due to the sheer volume of people that were there. On to the best part of our visit, the food. To start, we did chips and guacamole. The chips are served warm, are light and crisp, and you can see how this is a great place to just grab drinks and chips and guac or queso and have a great time at. We had to order two baskets because they were so yummy! For our dishes, some in the party got huaraches, which were a good size and they seemed to enjoy them. I got the tacos - one thing to note here is that they split the menu pretty well, describing what meat is pork, beef, fish, etc. For beef, they don't have a typical steak or asada, but they have suadero, which was quite good here in my opinion. Next, the al pastor was also very good, especially for DC - which I believe is a "good taco" desert. The standout for me though were the quesabirria tacos. Loved them and had to order another. The tacos are all a good portion and the prices are on par with most places in the area. I would have to rate these tacos pretty high on my list in the DC area. Again, service was wonderful and all in all, we had a great experience!

They were melt in your mouth good and I really enjoyed that the shrimp was the main flavor I could taste in the filling. Sometimes that can get lost. The ambiance of the place was also super unique and cool, we got sat downstairs which I was a bit hesitant about because of the no windows but it was such a vibe and I really loved it. I stop in at least once a week and I'm incredibly boring because I almost always get a plain bagel, but somehow it is exactly what I want every single time. And every once in a while they have salt bagels and I get irrationally excited about it. Maybe they have them more often and I'm just showing up too late, but finding one feels like winning the lottery. The family that runs this place is just wonderful. They take really good care of people and you can feel that when you walk in. I know a lot of people go for the sandwiches, but I love the whole experience: ordering my bagel and then immediately wandering over to the snack aisle. Calling it an aisle almost undersells it because it's not huge, but somehow it's packed with random treasures. They always seem to have unique snacks from different places or really high quality things you don't see everywhere else. I somehow never leave with only a bagel. A couple quick notes for first-timers: it's cash only, and as a dog owner myself, don't bring your dog inside. Just be respectful. This place has so much heart, and in a city where everything can feel a little polished or curated, So's Your Mom just feels real. Love this place.

Maybe they're going to know it when they read this review and if prices go up I'm sorry but also these greedy DC landlords are wrenching rent prices everywhere and So's your mom has to pay the bills!
