Hey friends! I needed a quick bite for lunch while working at the Wharf. I tried Falafel Inc. last year as a check-in treat from Yelp MDBurbs. I really enjoyed it then unfortunately not so much this time. The fries were not as I remember, they had a distasteful tarte aftertaste. The falafel sandwich was lukewarm and the toppings were cold(of course). If the falafel was hot the balance of cold toppings would've been manageable. The flavor on the falafel sandwich was good! -Customer service is okay. -Paid street parking/garage parking -NO seating. Takeout only. -Prices are average. Paid $12 for one falafel and fries. Good deal. Hope you enjoy! With love, The Picky Pescatarian

Food Always love stopping into this place because it is reasonably priced and always in a good location. They have the different sauces that you can get on the side and make it easy to get takeout. The falafel is perfectly crispy and a good mix for the fresh vegetables in the sandwich. Service Friendly and fast, they really do keep this place moving in order to ensure that the line moves quickly. Ambiance Not much of a place to sit down and eat, but if you are okay with standing this is a place to be.

Affordable and yummy meal! I love coming to Falafel Inc for their falafel sandwich. It's packed with veggies and falafel in a pita. To add some spice, I like adding their red sauce. Service is pretty fast, expect to order and get your food within 5 minutes. There isn't really any seating but there are some outdoor tables you can stand around and enjoy your food. This time I tried their zaatar chips, but I prefer their zaatar fries as the chips were a little too crunchy for me.

This place is perfect before a show at any of the venues along the Wharf. It's affordable, flavorful, and an easy process (limited menu). The only thing to account for is that they move a bit slow when they're busy. It seems like they take orders for a group of people, stop to make those orders, and then take orders for the next group. Not too big of a deal, but if you're in a rush on a busy day, I would keep this in mind.

Quick service. Good portions for the price. There was a bird that flew into the store and went straight behind the counter looking for food. It looked like it knew what it was doing and had done this before. There's no ambiance here because everything is takeout. There are some tables outside you can eat at.

I don't think this place gets the praise it deserves! I truly love Falafel Inc. The food is always as tasty and fresh, it's one of the best fast casual food chains from DMV and one of my favorite plant based options available (without breaking my wallet!). I went last Friday before a punk-rock concert and this truly powered me to last until midnight. By far The Wharf location is one of my favorites since it's nearby The Anthem, so getting early is just an excuse to get dinner here! The service is fast and the place is always clean, I wish they had a bigger space inside to comfortably add all their sauces in little plastic containers without spilling them on my clothes Everything I've had here is always good! Love their briny Levantine pickled veggies and purple cabbage slaw! I usually order their Falafel Salad bowl, but pay extra to get the plant based meat shawarma! It's truly one of the places that their vegan shawarma reminds me to the OG version! To be honest you don't even need any of the sauces because the protein is already marinated beautifully with the Lebanese 7-spices that we all love from shawarma! I add a side of falafel because I do enjoy the texture of their falafel! The only downside is that the balls are teenier than most of the other middle eastern/halal/levantine places I've been nevertheless to say crunchy exterior and soft middle! Their sauces, specially their invisible green sauce and habibi sauce are my favorites both are hella spicy but pica rico! Their garlic sauce is basically a lemony toum and their mazbout is their tahini falafel sauce. I'd never get tired of Falafel Inc food hahah

There's not a ton of food to choose from on the wharf, let alone vegan options, but luckily there is Falafel Inc! The shawarma bowl was delicious (minus tzatziki) and the service was fast. It's fast casual and doesn't have seating, but it's perfect for taking back to the hotel room.

Took forever to get pur food, but boy was it worth the wait. Za'atar fries were a hit, and both the falafel bowl and sandwich were spot on. Prices were very reasonable, which allows me arrive at the opinion that this is the best value in the DC area. Can't wait to try the Shwarma Sandwich next time.

This location has just opened up off the wharf. Now I was walking around the wharf, taking everything in to figure out where to have some lunch or figure out what activities were available. A lot of restaurants had some lunch specials going, but they were sit down and I wanted to keep walking and taking everything in and I was planning on actually just walking back to the L'Enfant Plaza since there were a lot of little places to grab and go there. That's when I spotted falafel Inc. I promise to be the best falafel you've ever had and going into the space. I could already smell the falafel off the street. It smelled great. The spot looked very new. It was just a little storefront. There's not really a lot of seating. They take orders at the counter and they're very prompt and quick. There's not a lot of options which actually make it easier for you as a vegetarian. I was impressed to see falafel options that were different because there was a falafel sandwich, falafel, rice bowl and also a vegan protein if you were so inclined, I ended up getting a falafel rice bowl and I waited for a little bit to get my food. While I was waiting, I noticed that there were six different sauces. Available to accompany your meal. They had little containers to help you save them as well once I got my meal and I actually drizzled three of the sauces on top of the meal itself. The red sauce and green sauce were amazing. The rice bowl was well cooked with a variety of vegetables and hot falafel on top of it. It was delicious. I had it on the wharf while watching the boats and water. It was peaceful and perfect for the meal. Also grateful to know that a meal is given to a refugee as well. Can't wait to go back!

    Chicken Shawarma & Zaatar Fries

A chicken shawarma with Zaatar fries for $15 - enough food to feed two. Where else can you get a deal like this? The food here is excellent. Service is good too.

    FALAFEL BOWL + ZAATAR FRIES

When I first entered the Falafel Inc. establishment my nostrils were filled with the sweet aroma of fresh falafel and zaatar. I looked up at the menu and to my surprise the prices of the food options were quite affordable. I opted to go with the falafel bowl and m'lady went with the falafel sandwich, which were both under $10 each! We also split a healthy sized bag of zaatar fries and I could not resist getting their baklava. The food service was very quick and the employees were very friendly. After obtaining our food we went to their outdoor eating area where we stood and prepared ourselves to feast. Both the falafel sandwich and bowl were filled to the brim with falafel, cabbage, pickles, tomatoes, cucumber, and a substantial serving of tahini. We also had the privilege of being able to help ourselves to extra sauces, which included garlic sauce (toum), red sauce, white sauce, habibi sauce, and more tahini. After taking a few bites of the food, we knew we had made a great decision coming to this location. Dipping the zaatar fries into the garlic sauce became second nature, as the combination was truly delicious. The cherry on the top was their baklava that came in a small, sliding cardboard box. The baklava was not overly sweet and perfectly complemented the savory falafel dishes. I highly recommend coming here for an affordable and delicious meal!

You can't go wrong with a falafel sandwich! Try out all the sauces when you go. It's definitely one of the cheapest options to go for in the wharf but I've noticed this location has higher prices than the west end/georgetown locations.

Here's why: - Quality: every item was fresh, and the falafel was not dry! I usually don't opt for falafel bc of how dry it is, but this one really wasn't! It was filling but moist and delicious. Also, the veggies and sauces paired well to give it flavor and texture. Again, usually not a fan of falafel, but I was this time. - Service: Food was pretty quick and the staff were really kind considering how busy the shop was. It took about 10 minutes to get the food. - Ambiance: This is a grab and go place. They have some high tables to quickly scarf down your meal or package your to go bag, but I suggest walking around Georgetown area to eat your food elsewhere. I feel bad writing this but I believe Writing Authentic and honest review may inspire the owner to level up his food . That said, the food quality did not meet expectations. The falafel was overly firm and dry. The Greek salad lacked freshness--the lettuce appeared past its prime, and the tomatoes were soft and aging. Overall, it felt like a basic tossed salad with feta rather than a well-composed dish. The hummus had a smooth texture, but the flavor suggested a blended oil rather than a clean extra virgin olive oil profile. The pita was the strongest element of the meal--fresh and well prepared. Additionally, the use of styrofoam containers detracted from the overall experience. In summary, while the service at closing was considerate, the food did not reflect what I would consider high-quality or authentic Greek cuisine. .

Eggplant and hummus were simmered until soft and flavorful, with a subtle smoky aroma. The addition of mint leaves enhanced the flavor. Bone Marrow: Beef tartare with bone marrow and pomegranate seeds--how interesting! The first two provided a rich, fatty texture and intense aroma, while the latter burst in your mouth occasionally, juicy, tangy, and refreshing. Brussels Sprouts: Brussels sprouts with grapes, walnuts, fig jam, and mint yogurt--a whimsical yet magical combination... The Brussels sprouts offered a fresh, vegetal aroma and a slightly roasted aroma; the walnuts provided a nutty richness and crunch; the fruit provided a fresh sweet and sour taste and plenty of juice; and the yogurt acted as a binder between the flavors while adding a touch of minty coolness. Duck Shawarma: My friend and I thought: ...Peking duck? The skin was soft, the meat tender, not gamey, with a subtle smoky flavor; the fig and lemon sauce was sweet and refreshing; the small pita pillows held the meat securely, better than the lettuce what might have been too cold. Lamb Stuffed Grape Leaves: Black rice was wrapped in grape leaves and simmered with minced lamb. The rice absorbed the fragrance of the grape leaves, similar to lotus leaves (my friend and I thought: lamb version of sticky rice chicken糯米雞...?). The lamb, however, was served separately at the bottom of the pot and didn't absorb much flavor; overall, it was intensely sour. In short, this dish was a bit oddly designed, and it was the only one we didn't finish because the sourness was unbearable. Pita Bread: The bread was thin yet chewy, with a rough, slightly powdery surface, making it substantial and satisfying. I especially loved the "everything wrapped in a big pancake" style! KenScale: 8.5/10 Visit: March 2026…read more My wife Jun and I have been to Albi multiple times already and on every visit we end up ordering the exceptional lamb kebabs for our final savory dish. Earlier this year, I saw that the restaurant started offering a large duck rice dish on the menu and, knowing how much Jun loves duck, tried to see if I can book a table. We had a reservation in January but we had to cancel that due to a last-minute trip to New York, and really struggled to find an open seating on a reasonable hour (we just had no appetite for a dinner past 9 p.m.) until recently last month. As we opened up the menu, we were very sad to learn that the duck was no longer on the menu (our server couldn't give a definitive time on when the dish will be back), but that didn't dampen our enthusiasm for another outstanding meal at Albi. Since my last review of the restaurant was in 2023, I figured a re-review was in order, especially given that this visit was our 10th total. When it comes to Middle Eastern spreads, it's hard to beat what Albi offers along with a giant pita bread. At this point, Jun had tried the mushroom hummus with confit egg yolk multiple times, and yet she couldn't again stop marveling how addictively delicious the hummus was with alluringly smoky flavor of mushroom. One new spread that we saw for the first time and decided to order was msabaha with embered firefly squid and white peas covered in tahini; not surprisingly, it was another standout dish even if squid is not an ingredient one would ordinarily see in these spreads. Another item on the menu that we tried for the first time (and really liked) was malfouf, a wrap of cabbages stuffed with smoked beef cheek and red shatta condiment. By now, we have seen multiple variations of the lamb kebabs at Albi and every time we walked out of the restaurant happily stuffed. For the current season, we were greeted with loin and smoked belly shish accompanied by vegetables of charred turnips and brassicas. The lamb's texture as usual was quite outstanding, and the charred vegetables (as well as a side dish of Fattoush salad with orchard fruits and smoked feta) also offered a wonderful complement to the meat. If someone asks me to list the most iconic dishes in DC, I won't hesitate to include the lamb kebabs from Albi. During our trip to Jordan in February, we fell in love with a popular dessert called knafeh (made with pastry dough layered with cheese and soaked in syrup); we never had a chance to try the same from Albi until this visit, and Jun remarked that the delightful knafeh was just like how she remembered from a restaurant in Petra, except the pomegranate sorbet that was placed in the middle. It seems like getting a reservation at Albi is becoming more and more difficult over time. The reservation window opens on the first day of each month and once past that first day, it is really challenging to find a seating during early and prime-time dinner windows, especially for the main dining room. This visit was the first time we had to be seated at the bar as we were slightly late to the reservation party, but the bar seating actually wasn't bad at all, as we chatted with the friendly bartenders from time to time while enjoying the food. As always, the beverage list at Albi is outstanding, featuring many Middle East-based cocktails and wines. As we increasingly find ourselves in our culinary journey together these days visiting our old favorites more often rather than checking out new places all the time, Jun and I are very thankful that Albi is in DC. It still is firing on all cylinders even after being around for several years in the DC dining scene, and deserves to be one of the best restaurants in the city.
