I have been to so many pizzerias. So I finally made it out Aces Pizza as I y has been on my pizza bucket list. They have a small bar so you can have a drink while you wait for your to go order. They have a VCR playing old school movie playing at the bar. But they have a smart TV playing regular today things Don't know what a VCR is? Google it young person. This pizza is amazing I ordered a medium regular and pepperoni. The pizza is so delicious. The crust, the cheese and sauce and so good. Been told this place is definitely worth trying, and I totally agree. We came on a rainy Saturday night and was seated right away in a booth for two. We had buffalo wings, a small Caesar salad, and shared three personal pies. Personal pies come with two slices. We tried the mushroom, vodka meatball, and spicy burrata with added pepperoni. Aces definitely lives up to the hype. The crust was crunchy but but soft and fluffy on the inside. The mushroom was my favorite, it had a rich garlic flavor. The other flavors were also fantastic as well. The wings were pretty big and a very decent buffalo sauce. Small Caesar salad was big enough to share between two people since we had ordered a generous amount of food between three pies and wings. Pizza came out piping hot. We just hosted a 40-person party at Ace's and it could not have been a better experience. The atmosphere is an old school vibe with TVs, games, decorations of old vcrs. Nice bar when you first walk in. The set up of the room was perfect for our group. The pizza was cooked perfectly, Detroit style pizza with the right amount of crisp, strong flavors and a little delicious burnt cheese on the edge which tied it together. The burrata, mushroom and white pies were particularly good. Staff could not have been nicer. Mariana was so helpful when planning the event and willing to accommodate us. Tony, Beverly and Jake took care of everything during the event. They all were patient, attentive and pleasant. Would highly recommend stopping by to try the pizza or hosting a 30-40 person event. As a fervent lover of pizza, I was excited to try my first Detroit style pie and I hope it's not my last. I had the vegan pie with NUMU (plus mushrooms) and it was executed to perfection. The texture was outstanding, super cheesy, properly melted (unlike most vegan pizzas I've had unfortunately), and delicious. I called ahead and the pizza was ready within a few minutes of my arrival. This hole in the wall restaurant serving to-order Detroit style pizza wowed me. Went with a group of 5 people and we waited about 5 minutes before being seated outside. We ordered the beer cooler "deal" which the waiter seemed to be really confused about and had to ask the other workers who seemed equally confused lol. We ended up getting 5 beers and 5 pickleback shots for $30 which was a great deal but I don't think that's how it normally works. We started with a 10pc Huli Huli wing order. The sauce on these bad boys was delicious. Kind of a more pineapple-y teriyaki sauce. Each of us ordered a personal pizza (literally 2 massive slices - more than enough for 1 person) with some of us splitting the 2 slices to try more flavors. We ordered the pepper trio, vodka meatball, hot burrata and I got the pepper trio with sausage, caramelized onions and ranch. Our waiter (who seemed new) did not write down any of our orders. I immediately felt like something was going to get screwed up and about 15 minutes later our pizzas came out and mine had no sausage on it! He was really nice about it and had them make it over for me. It was kind of a drag watching my friends eat lol but he let me keep the other slices free of charge. The vodka meatball seemed to be the most popular. The pepper trio was a close second (everyone agreed that the sausage and ranch put it over the top). The hot burrata was okay but nothing crazy. Overall this pizza was delicious! The service was really friendly but again - every time a server decides to not even fake take notes and then something comes out prepared incorrectly.. it just disappoints me. Saw this gem on the devour instagram page had to check it out. Walked in was immediately welcomed by everyone inside workers and customers very pleasant. I love the ambiance very old school. They had a vhs tv and videos, Nintendo 64 accessible to play with a small library of games to go with. Plenty of board games to play while you wait or eat. Save by the bell was playing on the tube tv loved it. Looking at the menu was so hard only because everything looked so good. I went with half Buffalo chicken and cheeseburger, a small pepperoni pie and some Nashville hot and Carolina gold wings. Loved the pepperoni pie, I do wish the Buffalo pie had more Buffalo sauce and was alil more spice but it still was good. They hamburger pie was perfect. The Nashville hot wasn't so hot either but the flavor was good. Carolina gold was good. The wings had a nice crisp to it and the pizza was so cheesy and fresh. We were actually on our way to Midici pizza after getting rejected from Roberta's by the water. We passed by Ace's, yelped it and decided to give it a shot. It's filled with 80s nostalgic kitschiness in a good way - the vintage telly at the bar playing Father of the Bride, the booths, tablecloths, arcade machine by the bathroom, the menu board. You almost want to order a big ol' milkshake with the works, even though they don't have that on the menu. The menu is pretty basic, they serve Detroit style pizza, which was the kind I had never tried before. They allow you to mix and match, so we ordered two small pizzas with four types - pepperoni, meat something, Buffalo chicken and mushroom. We also got their wings with the Nashville hot sauce and a Caesar's salad. This meal was a LOT for two people and a child but we intended to take the leftovers to go. The salad and wings were delicious! The pizza also didn't disappoint. The Buffalo chicken was not your average pizza. It was like biting into an actual wing with blue cheese. After the apps, we were feeling pretty full. One slice did it for me. The Detroit style pizza is more bread-y than your average Italian, New York or Chicago style so it's carb-heavier than usual. Whoa getting off topic here. Allow me to mansplain Detroit Style Pizza: Rectangular with a thick crust that is crispy and chewy. Cooked in a high sided heavyweight pan, the edges become caramelized. It tastes even better than it sounds, folks. You're going to want to try the buffalo chicken pizza. It's universally regarded as the best type of pizza. Other interesting pies including the cheeseburger pizza, and the one with 3 types of peppers. Honestly, they don't miss here so anything you get is going to be dank. I love Sicilian pizza so the grandma style white pizza was a nice twist to that. It was very cheesy and crispy. And had a taste between sweet and salty, sweet came from the onions the pizza had. I could not stop eating it. My partner had the Supreme pizza the taste was amazing too very unique for the meats lover. The pizzas are served in personal style 2 slices, medium pie 4 slices or large pies 8 slices which is different then most pizza joints. What is pictures is the personal slices. Unfortunately they do not serve single slices. This place is very welcoming inside and they have a bar you could sit down around. As you can see they have a variety of alcoholic drinks. We ordered Ace's Pizza for the first time tonight and we weren't disappointed. The two of us shared a small pepperoni pizza and a large arugula salad which was the perfect amount of food. The pizza was filling. I ate one slice and my husband was full with two. The salad was mainly for me and too big to finish with the pizza.
