Caesar salad
Allison W.

We stopped in since we were still hungry from before. We all split a pizza and a salad. The pizza was great! Crispy edges and fresh toppings. The salad was good but definitely could have just gotten pizza (but needed the veggies!) Service was slow at first but our waitress was attentive after we ordered. Some outside seating and plentiful inside seating. Casual vibe and classic plastic checked table cloths.

Came for the Summer Collab with Bordertown. First time trying Ace's as I'm not a fan of Detroit style pizza. But it was very good. Lots of crunchie edges were addicting. It's heavy though still. The hot dog was very good too!

Amazing square pie! One of the best I've ever had! The entire staff were chill and super friendly! They always checked in on us. We definitely would come back!

**DETROIT-STYLE PIZZA IN BROOKLYN** Did our own pizza tour and made sure to stop at Ace's. AMBIANCE Retro-cool with a hint of old-school Pizza Hut energy. Fun, loud, and casual, exactly the vibe you want. PIZZA PEPPERONI Packed with crispy cups of roni. The contrast between the crunchy edges and soft, doughy crust is spot-on. RATING: 5/5 VODKA MEATBALL Solid, but overshadowed by the pepperoni. The meatball could use more seasoning and a bit of heat. RATING: 4/5 OVERALL Would absolutely go back. Easy recommendation.

grandma pizza

Of all the popular pizza places I've tried in NYC so far, Ace's is my favorite. They have plenty of topping combos, so everyone can find something they enjoy. The standout to me is the dough / crust of the square pizza, in that it is bready and chewy, but light with a nice crisp on the bottom. We tried the grandma pizza (pictured), as well as the pepperoni pie with hot honey and the mushroom pie. All were fantastic, though my favorite was the grandma for the delicious combination of the sauce, basil, and sausage. I'm usually not the biggest fan of pepperoni, but their cup style pieces with hot honey in it were enjoyable! I can't wait to come back and try more toppings. Unlike some of the other frequented spots in Brooklyn, Ace's has a good amount of both indoor and outdoor seating! We ordered ahead, so service was efficient. We had changed our mind last minute to try and eat in, but the staff were not able to accomodate the change so we took our food to a nearby outdoor public seating area.

I came here and it was great. My niece wanted to try this place so we came. The service was amazing and the food was very delicious. We ordered two different pizzas, and mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks were delicious and I recommend them. The pizza, we ordered were the buffalo chicken and the burrata pizza both pizzas were really good. I liked that the dough was airy and had a nice texture. The buffalo chicken pizza had a good amount of chicken and had good flavor. I enjoyed this place very much, and the food was good. I really enjoyed the decor. They also have more than one size pizza which allowed me to taste more one kind of pizza. One of the employees was very nice and came to ask about our experience. He even spoke to my mom in Spanish, which was very kind. Overall it was great, I recommend it to everyone.

Not too many corners have Detroit style pizza in New York and this is the spot to come to. Crust is crunching and soft in the right areas. Came to this place because our meal wasn't the best at another restaurant but this made my night. Only thing I didn't like that night was the door to the bathroom was close to the seating and it would stay open so the smell wasn't pleasant but overall this would be a go to spot this summer!!!!

Cool place to eat.

We had square pie and wing. I wanted to say it was wonderful. Cool place to chill and eat.

My friend and I came here on a Saturday night around 8:30pm. It was busy, but we only waited about 5 minutes for a table. I had the pepper trio pizza, which was topped with pickled jalapeños, green bell peppers, and sweet cherry peppers). It was sweet and a little spicy. Very delicious (and filling!).

It was Halloween, and some shocking fun was had in the bathroom.

I loved this place! Fun, funky vibe, no pretense, and GREAT pizza. I would call the pizza 'Detroit style'. - rectangular and closer to a deep dish pizza as opposed to thin crust. However, it was very light and flaky - not heavy and dense. Perfectly cooked - lots of yummy crusty cheese. Great sauce and flavoring, too!

That's a nice place just to stop by if you are craving some pizza and beer. The service was good and prices are ok. Nothing crazy but still good.

Absolutely loved the food. The white pizza was incredible. Loved the flavor and the crunch cheese crust was amazing. The chicken wings were also pretty good as well. Would definitely recommend.

Small Greek Salad

The last thing on our Summer To-Do list was to eat at Ace's pizza! We made that dream come true on Saturday at 5pm. Made a reservation in case it became busy, but not sure we needed to. People are super friendly with a great vibe. Love the feeling of visiting my neighbor's basement in 1989. Our server recommended the wings and Greek Salad - went with a small one. Very much nostalgic vibes of a salad from the midwest. If you like that sort of thing, then delicious! She (server) strongly recommended the spicy boiiiii (correct spelling according to the check) with vodka sauce, which we had on a medium split with buffalo chicken. She was right - we should have done the whole thing as that one. Buffalo chicken was good, but oddly, felt a little too healthy. (Maybe it was the celery.) Ordered a medium pepperoni for the kids. It had hot honey on it, which we didn't order or want, but luckily the kids only complained a little. Interesting note, when the server looked at our food, she was surprised to see basil leaves on the spicy boiiii! I kind of like the "who knows what you're going to get" situation out of my neighbor's basement food. (Reminds me of Seinfeld with the rubber band in the soup - PACO!) A note on quantity - we could probably have eaten another 2 medium pizzas, because they feel light and airy. But once we settled, 2 mediums and a salad was fine for our family of 5 (kids 10,7,2) We (not kids) shared a draft hazy IPA (Lagunitas), which was tasty. Another interesting thing to share, which has no bearing on anything, was that the level of condensation on our water cups was off the charts. The table was covered in water, and I went through a lot of napkins. No idea why! Overall, had a great time! We would definitely go back.

Get the pepperoni pizza. Had wings too. Usually not a fan of crusts but for this pizza definitely made an exception.

(Inside there's a bar and some booths along the wall). The menu is standard Williamsburg cocktail bar pricing and naturally, we were all drawn to the tequila drinks. I had a Lime All The Time, which was yummy and my partner had a Beach House which was alright. We also all had a round of skinny spicy margaritas which were stronggggg. The bartender was quiet but polite. I liked how they were several jugs of ice water and cups available for patrons. There are bathrooms downstairs and based on the layout of the bar, I suspect it can get rowdy and fun after 8pm rolls around. I'd love to come back then!

Ambience inside, particularly in the upstairs bar, is very nice with dimly lit booths and and a nice bar to sit at. The vibe of the bar is upscale, but not at all pretentious and easy to meet new people. Very friendly bartenders as well. Cons: The bar has become a bit of a victim of it's own success in the past year, as it has been 'discovered' by Gen Z and TikTok. The resulting long entry lines and crowds inside have spoiled the feel of this once hidden gem. And be prepared to hold your pee during peak times Overall, it's still one of the best bars in the city, but I will probably hold off to see if the newfound fame eases off a bit in the near future.

After a hard workout on a Sunday, nothing is better than a good brunch with friends. We originally selected Prospect Bar & Grill because it was close to our gym. Otherwise, we had never been here before. However, now that I know the quality of this establishment I will definitely be back. We ordered a number of items for brunch, though I had the Breakfast Burrito which was fantastic. Great ingredients and not too heavy. I was satisfied without being overly full. Additionally, the home fried potatoes and watercress salad that come with it add a lot of nice variety. Throw in the excellent wine selection and you've got a keeper. I'm a big Primitivo fan, which is a hard wine to find, however they have it and its great. Finally the service. There was a minor mixup in the kitchen, which caused a slight delay. However, the staff sorted the issue quickly and made sure we were happy, served and taken care of. This kind of great attention to detail and fantastic service always makes me coming back for more and this is the main reason I wanted to write a review. Thanks for a great brunch and I'll definitely be back.

I really love their rotisserie chicken and it's paired well with their fries, salad, and even rice. Their potato salad is simply seasoned but realllyyy good; truly nothing over the top with their seasoning for it but somehow it really hits the spot when you eat it with the chicken. I also tried the grilled lemon chicken with the lo mein and loved that too! I didn't finish it all in one sitting so I had that for lunch the next day. Haha. The fried shrimp was also very good. When I visited New York a second time I told my girlfriend we had to go here. We had eaten a lot earlier in the day and I still insisted we come here because we didn't have much time left and I really didn't wanna miss out. The kimchi chicken sandwich was phenomenal, and the wings were out of this world. The sandwich in particular was so saucy which made it overall so flavorful. The wings are exactly what you'd expect and more - perfectly crispy, crunchy, and juicy. Was I full from our earlier meals? Yes. But stopping by here on our last night was the right call.
