I took my Mini Cooper there because they said they specialize in European cars but when I took it home I realized the back seat was still detached and the front bumper was not fully attached. So they specialize in these cars but don't know how to properly put them back together? I was also skeptical about the work they said was necessary. When they first told me what needed to be done they said it will take a few days (assuming that's 2-3 days) and then when I questioned them about the work and the pricing they said "oh well it will be done today and we're almost done" almost if they were scared I was going to back out. Nice attitude by Jason up front the first day. His demeanor will suggest that he's a nice gentleman. He told me my car will be done diagnose by end of day next day but broke the promise. Then he says the car will be done by noon the following day and broke that promise too. When i called him back the third day, the first thing he says, YOU CAN TAKE YOUR CAR ELSEWHERE and STOP RUSHING ME knowing my car is in stalled status. Instead of having a civilized conversation, he becomes emotionally and continuously talk over me without letting me explain to him i wasn't rushing and it is simply a concern. I trust the work is somewhat quality based on the reviews but at what cost? There is no customer service in this shop. **The Owner messes with the ratings, this place used to have way more negative ratings. BEWARE!** If you feel like giving your $ away to a mechanic who wont be fixing your car PLEASE contact me. I love getting free $. That's what happened to me. Brought my car in, was charged $100 for their diagnostic test. They gave me a long list of things that needed repairing. A few days later, and a few grand, I got my Blazer back. It worked for literally 15 miles then broke down again. Called them, had it towed again and was charged again for them to look at it, which really angered me since clearly the repair they did wasn't a complete fix. This time they said repairing the exhaust system would make the car work again so I agreed to that fix. Again it died, this time it made it home but would soon be in the A&M shop again...After A&M "repaired" my car I parked it in my angled parking lot. It had little gas in it and it wasn't getting enough gas to start, but I assumed it was still broken and called A&M to scheduled it to be taken back down there, and yes had to pay the tow and diagnostic fees for the 3rd time. I went off to work and called my boyfriend a few hours later to check in. He was ticked off. After he started thinking about it he wondered if it was out of gas and went to A&M. He was told he couldn't go look at my car, let alone put gas in it. Days earlier my boyfriend had picked up the car, so it wasn't a matter of A&M protecting my privacy or not knowing who he was-- my boyfriend and I spent PLENTY of time in the A&M lobby with the check-in guy. And if that was the case A&M should have called me about a "stranger" trying to get to my car. Anyways, my boyfriend forced his way in, filled up the tank and what do you know? It started! I regret not requesting, in writing, their fix list. I can guarantee that filling the tank with gas wasn't on it. In May '09 I received an email from the business owner trying to resolve my dissatisfaction. My reaction to him was absolute shock- how do you repay distress? Would I seriously get back the THOUSANDS that I was scammed out of in unnecessary repairs? Yah right. For the most part the positive reviews on here are another one of A&Ms scams. I have spoken with 2 people who had posted negative reviews whos said the owner also tried to pay them off. The owner has created fake accounts with Yelp, Yahoo, Google and who knows who else. Its BS, but that's the kind of person he is- instead of fixing his business practices and hiring honest mechanics and living up to his so called honest business methods he takes advantage of customers and marks up parts big time. read more

I had the worst experience I have ever had with a car repair company. I would give them zero stars if I could. I came in with a timing belt that needed to be replaced. They damaged the radiator and replaced it. They told me that it was damaged when they got it. They damaged the ignition wiring during the repair. A few weeks later the car died and they charged me $75 for the diagnostic which confirmed the damaged ignition wiring.The car had not had any issues with cooling or ignition wiring prior to their service. I had another car with the same drive train that cost half the price for the timing belt replacement at a different local repair shop. Stay away from these guys. They are theives!! read more

My review isn't on their machanical skills. It's the lack of customer service and business procedure. My customers car was towed by Superior Towing (they share the building/location) to this shop without the consent of the car owner after an accident. when he went to get the car, the car was "missing". Superior Towing said A&M had it, A&M said they never got the car. I spoke with Jason and he made rude comments about how my company has nothing better to do than call them about this car. Why wouldn't we call in urgent manner when the customer's car goes missing!!! idiot! long story short, turns out the owner of the bodyshop saw the car and deemed it "totaled" and had it parked in the impound lot without doing the proper paperwork. When the customer and insurance comapny called about it, all they said was "we dont have it. we don't know where it is". But the owner is the one that had the car moved to the impound lot! Maybe you should get moving and look for it. Figure it out since your 'partner' in crime said they towed it to YOU. either way, Superior Towing and A & M will not be seeing any of my clients. read more

This place is a scam, although they are polite and have a nice, clean lobby. Too bad the mechanics are just trying to push overpriced parts and unneeded work. I took my car in to diagnose a problem with the brakes. I told him that the ABS controller was broken and just asked them to bench test it and give me an estimate if it was broken. All they did was attach THE WRONG computer diagnostic tool to my car, tell me that nothing showed up, and bill me for $107. No confirmation, no estimate. These are some lazy dudes. The reason they didn't do what I asked them to? They decided that I needed to pay them $2100 to fix a few other things that are unrelated. Pricing the parts online, this job should have been in the $1000-1200 range. Turns out, they'll only use one brand of parts that are marked up 200% They were polite, but they're mad shady. The guy at the front desk looked shady and I should have trusted my gut, plus the fact that you are in an office like space and cant see the mechanics working didnt seem right to me, however I tried to give benefit of doubt, the guy I believe Jason was his name gave me very short answers and had a creepy, usedcar salesman smile. You are required to pay a non negotiable 100 dollar diagnostic fee, which didnt thrill me, but ok fine, but when he called back later he quoted about $1000-2000 dollar estimate...told me I needed serious extensive worked done, and worse contradicted himself and further exposed himself as dishonest...so I said forget it Im pulling my car which I did, and found out through other means that the "diagnosis" was total and COMPLETE bs. I have been maintaining and repairing my cars with Paul (A&M Auto) for 7 years. After first conversation with him I knew this guy is sharp. I am an aerospace engineer at Boeing Company, who has been repairing my own cars since the first one I got at 16, so I know what I talking about. But Paul has been repairing cars his whole life and more than that he loves everything about it. I initially contacted Mr. Clutch to have the clutch on my Volkswagen Jetta replaced. They gave me the lowest estimate and being on a tight budget, I chose them. I was pleasantly surprised to drive up and see that Mr. Clutch falls under A&M Auto, who happens to specialize in German cars. If you own a German car, you know how important this is. They are not easy cars to work on and a typical mechanic could easily mess something up if they don't know the quirks of German built cars. Turns out my 13 year old, 200,000+ mile Jetta had a slew of issues and the lowest quote ended up being nearly $2000. However, these were things that other mechanics had missed and they were all a result of normal wear and tear on a high mile car so I accepted the repairs and took the hit to my wallet. When I picked the car up, Jason was awesome. He let me know he discounted the cost of the new flywheel by nearly 50% because he knew this was a big bill for me. He even gave me a AAA discount, saving me another $30. That may not seem like much considering the $2000 price for the overall cost of the repair however his honesty and empathy through this whole process is what was most valuable. Full disclosure, I don't know a ton about cars. All I know is that these guys took care of my Grace, and it was cheaper than the other Eastside quotes. I went to this company one year ago. They replaced my clutch parts for 1500 approximately. The first day I had to take car back because I could not get power in gears. I limped back to repair shop and there was confusion as to why this was happening. They had it a couple of hours and would not really say they found problem but it was gone. Now it is one year later and same problem happened again no power in gear. Only drive car about 2000 miles in one year. No way was I taking back to same place a third time. Took to car dealer who replaced everything again. Clutch had disintegrated per dealer. Dealer told me parts that were used were cheap parts. Repair bill 1900 and what a difference with clutch. I had several friends over a year that drove my car and kept insisting something wrong with my clutch. This is what happened and you draw your own conclusions read more

I have to believe the 5 star reviews for this place were put here by employees, because this is one bad shop. First, the estimate was less than 1/3 my actual charges. Once they had the car apart, they told me of the additional charges... which would be expected maybe, but they also said they had done $500 in work to that point, so I was left with no choice... either pay $500 for basically the same problem I came in with, or pay the extra and have it drivable. I figure they must be charging $200/hr labor. Second, I was promised a ride in their shuttle, which never came. I reminded them twice, but honestly think they forgot about me, so I called a friend to get me after giving up hope. Third, they made excuse after excuse for all the problems. Lastly, the repairs they did lasted a full 3 days. 2 of those days the car was not even driven. I took it back and they wanted to charge me ANOTHER $500. The front desk was friendly and the lobby nice and clean though. Probably because they charge 4x what they should and get a kickback for screwing over customers. I purchased a used car and had A&M Auto due the pre-purchase inspection. Based on the information from that inspection I decided to purchase the car and then subsequently had A&M Auto perform some needed repairs that were identified during the inspection. Their work and the way they handled me through all of that was amazing! Very professional and you always felt like they were looking out for you. Now fast forward a few more months and unfortunately a couple of new items were discovered that were not originally identified in the inspection. The owner Paul personally stepped in and managed this (although Jason was also amazing to work with for the other repairs) for me. He took full responsibility for the additional repairs that were needed without hesitation. I would put A&M Auto Repair above all other auto repair businesses I have worked with. However a few weeks ago I was in Bellevue with the car I had borrowed from a friend and the check engine light came on and it started having weird little issues. Luckily they were super easy to find and I headed over there as I didn't want to drive it all the way back to Seattle without checking it out first - especially since it was a borrowed vehicle. I just moved into the area and was dealing with the usual stress of relocation only to find out that my car needed a serious repair immediately. A&M was actually my second stop; the first place my car was towed to quoted a ridiculous price and then told me my car wouldn't be ready for over a week. I went to A&M for another opinion and was blown away by their friendliness and professionalism...and on top of that they quoted a fair price and my car was repaired in just two days. Having my car back in a timely manner was very important as I was about to start a new job, and the people at A&M went above and beyond to make that happen. They even cleaned my car for me! First off, the customer service here was phenomenal. Everyone I spoke with was kind, helpful and really treated me as an individual, rather than a dollar sign. I was having trouble with a strange oil leaking problem after getting my cars oil changed at a Jiffy Lube and they were able to diagnose the problem in minutes, fix it on the spot, and send me on my way. A friend recommended A & M Bellevue Auto Service when I heard an odd noise in my engine. I go back and forth over the Pass and really didn't want to breakdown half way across. -The engine on our 2005 Subaru Forester blew up. -The car was still drivable and A+M was close by and A+ rated by BBB, we took it there. - A+M replaced the engine for a rebuilt engine, however costs were higher than the original estimate because of optional replacement parts (All OK'ed by me) with "no cost of labor" (water pump, plug wires, hoses, and idler pulleies, thermostat, etc..). - There were some initial problems with head and head gasket - A+M followed up on all replacement and warrantee issues at no cost to me. - After a discussion over my concerns on head gasket reliability. A+M "made it right" by offering an extended warrantee on head gasket issues. I should note that A+M was courteous and professional. -Chris read more

I was very happy with the service. Volkswagen dealer recommended I go here to fix electrical problem I had for the longest time. Had to take it to the dealer at least 4 times without any success in fixing it. The price was fair and the car got done on time. They talked to me all the way through the repairs and explained all the thing that were done. I would say the highlight was when I told them to replace my brakes and authorized the repairs the guy got back to me and said the brakes are in good shape and I don't need to do them now. I had to bring my car in multiple times for the same problem (some of the times I brought it after making an appointment they didn't even look at it and other times they said it was fixed but it was not). If you want honesty, great workmanship, and impeccable customer service, look no further than A & M. I have a 2006 VW Jetta and the transmission went out on it. I had it parked for about five months and thought I was going to have to sell the car as is and start looking for a new car. I decided to do some research to find out how much a rebuilt transmission would cost. I came upon A & M's website and was thoroughly impressed with what I saw. I also checked them out via AAA and found out that they are A+ accredited through the Better Business Bureau. Paul was great throughout everything! He totally knows VW, which made me feel at ease. He kept in constant contact with me the entire time my car was there and they even had a ValPak coupon! My car runs better than it did when I first purchased it! He told me to bring my car back if any little thing goes wrong, they're there to make sure all is well!
