I took my Audi there because my intake manifold flaps were sticking, and believe it or not, the only thing wrong with it was there were a couple vacuum lines put in the wrong spot. Adam was totally honest and reported the findings and just charged me a little bit for the diagnosis time and that was it. Unfortunately, there are way too many shops that would have pretended the problem was bigger than it was just so they could charge you for the hypothetical repairs they did. I brought my 1998 Mercedes ML320 to German Car Specialist for a coolant exchange, an oil change, and honk replacement (The honk was not working.). They gave me a courtesy inspection and found some other issues. They did a very good job. I am happy with their service, and the price was reasonable. They are the only garage that reset my car-clock, which was a few minutes off, for me, and checked my spare tire (None of the other shops including the dealer of my other car reset my car-clocks and check the spare tires.). My Mercedes ML350 is getting on in years and needed help. Their price to eval was a straight $80.00 less than the Bellevue Mercedes dealer. The were fast and efficient and even with parts shortages were able to get the part and install in a day. I felt like I was back 40 years ago when I took my car into the local service shop and they went above a beyond to fix everything. As I was leaving they mentioned that my Tabs were expired. Porsches come with their own kind of tax. For one thing, you will wick speeding tickets from other motorists just for...reasons. It can be an old, shot-to-shit Porsche that is actually cheaper than nearly every other car alongside you, but cops will still take special delight in ticketing you. My son calls this the "Implied Asshole" tax, and it's a thing. If you have the kind of car they service here, you already know what you're getting into with servicing it, so knowing that, you might as well have a fleet of people on it who know your car's model inside and out, and are on your side with trying to source used parts if you need a bit of a break on the price. Having scored an old 2001 Boxster on eBay a year ago, I knew I'd be paying a few grand for service at some point, given that I was sort of buying it pretty blind, but I put it off for a while, reasoning that the car didn't seem to be complaining too much. But in the wake of a torrential NW downpout, it was leaking through the roof and the door, so I called them to tell them I had my own personal lagoon collecting somewhere under my seat (not due to incontinence - that's a separate review). The guy on the phone laughed and said he'd just gotten two other Porsches in with THEIR own personal floor reservoirs, too, and he diagnosed the problem in two seconds over the phone. There is something to be said for people who fix the same models of cars for years - and even though OLD Porsche parts are still Porsche parts and cost accordingly, you can save a bit on service when your fixers spend more time fixing than guessing and troubleshooting. They fixed more things than I can mention - replaced my whole exhaust system, fixed my door problems, repaired the leak, patched my tire, replaced my leaky-ass convertible cowl, and some other crazy big fix with my drive train...? Maybe? It was *expensive.* But it would have been much worse had they not snatched up the one secondhand exhaust system available stateside - saving me the cost of an all-new part shipped exorbitantly from Europe. And it also would have been more if they weren't honest enough to come in UNDER the estimate when the labor went faster than predicted. Driving it off their lot today it was quieter and smoother than it's ever felt. Plus they gave me a loaner for the entire week (or week-plus?) that I needed it, and were even understanding with me when I came in right at close of day to claim it, all washed and detailed. Solid peeps and great service. No wonder everyone recommends them. read more

Adam is one of the most honest mechanics I've had the pleasure of meeting. I took my Q7 in because something was blocking fuel fill inlet preventing the gas pump from refueling the tank. Adam took a look and saw a disfigured flap that was blocking the inlet. He pulled it out, didn't charge me anything, and didn't try to up sell anything. When I asked if he'd recommend me changing out the entire inlet, Adam said it costs too much and I should be fine without the tiny flap. He didn't try to make a quick buck even though I was definitely open to handing him my wallet for his trouble ;-) As my Q7 ages and less is covered by warranty, Adam will be my go-to for any maintenance going forward. read more

Given I'm located in NJ and the vehicle for sale was in Washington State, I was relying entirely on their assessment of the vehicle before going through with the transaction. German Auto provided a FULL vehicle inspection and discovered a number of issues that the seller did not disclose to me. They were extremely courteous and patient with my questions, spent a lot of time on the phone and provided a very useful written report along with pictures and engine diagnostics as part of the service. My experience with them has been outstanding and will bring me back for any work on my car. The one thing that impressed me the most was the care and protection they gave my car as they were working on it. Most places you can see that someone has been rubbing on your fenders as they work on your car but not theses guys, and the care they give as they are moving you car in and out of the shop, very impressed. I called requesting an oil change for my 2008 Audi Q7 and had the option to bring it in the same-day or the next-day. I chose next-day, even though a shuttle or loaner vehicle was offered to me for either day. After completing the oil change, my car was washed, vacuumed and waxed. It looked great! If that wasn't enough, Eric called me a few days later offering to shampoo the carpets in my Audi at no charge the same morning. Talk about an exceptional customer loyalty program! We were skeptical of this business because of the previous yelp reviews. However the in-depth analysis of our car and the "need-to-do" repair list and the "you-can-wait" repair list was really good for us. We were able to easily pick what we wanted and also needed to have repaired to get our son's car, a 2009 Audi A3, up and running smoothly again. They even went the extra mile and took the car to an audio specialist and had the speakers fixed for $75.00 vs. the alternative $900.00 repair that we thought it was going to be when we decided to have the car repaired. We walked out of there spending a $1000.00 less than we thought it would be when we dropped the car off. The car was also ready when we were told it would be too. How often does that ever happen? GCS were able to diagnose all issues on the scheduled day, informed which repairs were covered by extended diesel warranty, and repaired everything which wasn't quickly and professionally. Oh how I've waited to post this... AVOID THIS PLACE! I took my car in to fix a broken window. Easy enough, right? Well not only did they charge me more than quoted (I could never get a clear answer as to why), but they ended up putting a 3 inch gash in my window. When I picked up my car I immediately noticed that there was a huge gash in the window they repaired. When I asked about this, I was told "that was already there." No, it was most definitely not. They then claimed that the parking stickers the city of Seattle uses when you pay for parking on the street must have went into the crack and did that. I showed them the paper stickers they use... There is NO chance that was the cause of this. Totally randomly when I was talking to the main guy about this, the technician that worked on the window randomly came out and was like "oh that window was tough to get off." When I pointed out that obviously they had done the damage I was literally told "So? what do you want me to do about it?" That is a direct quote. After much back and forth, their best offer was to go to a junk yard and get a window and charge me to replace it. When I pointed out my windows were tinted, and how could they ensure it would look right the answer (this is a quote) "that's not really my problem." This was over 3 years ago... The staff at German Car Specialists were awesome. I called in for a Service Appointment for my Mercedes, and they were able to get me in for an appointment the following day. Also, when I called in I was able to speak to a mechanic about my vehicle, and he estimated a cost that was reasonable. When I got to my appointment, the staff was courteous and friendly. The mechanic who worked on my vehicle did not bill me additional charges without my approval first, and was able to explain to me in layman's terms what my vehicle needed and why.
