I was extremely impressed with the service I received at Michael's. The service was very professional as the team was able to identify the exact issue that needed a resolution and resolved the issue within 24 hours. They fixed exactly what needed to be fixed without any discussion of additional things not needed. I was very impressed with the honesty and professionalism that was shown throughout. My husband brought his car here for some transmission work. Was done fast and the price was actually lower than we thought it'd be. We've only been here the one time but we will be back. Hard to find mechanics that you can trust. Neither my husband or I know much about cars (yup, we're not car people, lol) so when you can find a good mechanic make sure to keep that in your back pocket because you will need it. Highly recommend this place! I am a female in my twenties and its hard knowing who to trust in the car business and I am always worried I am being taken advantage of. I never felt that way at Michaels. All the suggested repairs were explained thoroughly and with photos. I felt that I could trust them with the work they suggested and when I picked up my car I had a great conversation with the gentleman at the desk who made me feel even more like the work Michaels provides is truly the best. The service I requested was performed with a very high labor charge. After spending over $1,500, I picked my car up only to find that the entire car was dappled with tree sap! It was parked beneath trees! Michael's obviously knew because someone had attempted to use the wind shield wipers to remove it from windshield, which smeared it across the glass and messed up my wipers! I called and was told to bring it back in a week and they'd clean it up. Not okay! I now need new wiper blades, spent my own time and money to purchase "sap remover" which took over 2 hours. Not customer-centric. Will not refer them any longer! read more

Michael takes care of our imported cars ( Subaru and Honda in the past, Mini Cooper now) and I just can say good things about the quality of the services, fair price and honesty. The multi-spot inspection report is not reliable here. I always do the inspection during oil change. For two times in a year, they provided report which had wrong info. Last October, they didn't even fix the low tire pressure issue, even though there's alert on the dashboard. This year, they didn't found the battery and AC issue. The AC doesn't work at all. The battery just run out, and I used a jump start to start my car. I have been here for any car issues since I moved here 4 years ago. I wasn't aware that they didn't do inspection as this service has promised, until there are real issues but they didn't report. I think all of you should be aware about the reliability of their services. read more

Its been a long time since I've needed a mechanic. But my HVAC system wasn't working properly and I had a small leak from somewhere. Anyway, I dropped my car off at 7:30am. The nice gentleman at the front desk, Kerry I think his name was, quoted me a cost that was much less than I was anticipating. when my car was done, within a few hours, my final cost was even less than he quoted me. Mike has always been extremely reliable and very honest. This time my brakes were a little squeaky so I took it in thinking I need new brakes. When I went to pick it up, not only did I not need new brakes, but they did a warranty with brake pads and fixed the rotors, at no charge! They are so honest, friendly, and reasonably priced. But when he texted me with a quote , it was 30% higher then the dealer. I do not see the point to go to an independent mechanic if their is no saving in it. I have used Michaels Auto Repair twice now. Recently had an overheating problem. Michaels got my truck in quickly, diagnosed the problem and gave me a reasonable and accurate estimate for replacement water pump and timing belt. The truck was back to me within 2 days. I asked about some future potential work on my truck and Kerry took the time to give me good advice about brake upgrades and transmission servicing. Outstanding service and a very friendly staff. I brought my car in to have the headlight bulbs replaced but while the car was there it encountered another issue that left it unable to be driven. Michael and his team went above and beyond to expeditiously fix the issue with the ignition lock cylinder. He returned the car to me much faster than I was expecting and he even put a new battery in my key fob. Took my car in to get my low lights replaced because they were quite dim, and they also replaced my high beams- without checking with me first. I feel like this should have been confirmed before they did this as my high beams were fine, and I was charged for this. Additionally, my headlights were fine when I left. However, by the next evening they were dim again. Clearly, there was some sort of electrical issue (or something similar) that they missed, which is understandable. However, I would be charged full price to bring this back in and have this fixed again. read more

My vehicle had chronic issues with the headlight which my regular shop kept dismissing as too expensive to diagnose for an old car. Our of frustration of having to change the headlight bulb every month I took my vehicle to Michael's. They promptly identified it as corroded contacts and fixed it. I had to call more than once to figure out whether my vehicle can be picked up. So communication is a bit strained. Workmanship 10/10 read more

This place charges too much just to look at your car and diagnose it. And it appears the owner is the mechanic but he isn't. He has two non ASE certified techs doing auto repairs. Rude and over priced I went to Issaquah and had my car repaired and a much better price. read more

Over charged for the work they did, parts markup was not reasonable, charged me for inexperienced labor for what should have been near half the cost, they were friendly and communicated but overcharged for replacing u joints and a hub assembly, mechanics that are used to dealing with older vehicles could have done the job in less than the 17 hrs of labor, but did cut me a deal and only charged 14 hrs... read more

Update: I took the car to the dealership. They hooked it up to the manufacturer's diagnostic tool and immediately found a faulty brake light switch on the brake pedal. It was sending faulty inputs to both the ABS brake control unit and the electronic throttle control unit. They replaced the switch and burned the latest factory firmware to those programmable control modules. $300 later, both problems fixed. That's way better than spending $1,500 replacing good parts with fingers crossed in hopes of a fix! read more

You don't really appreciate how great Michael's is until you go somewhere else. Michaels isn't near home or work, so sometimes I get lazy and get an oil change at another shop near my office. When my headlight went out they said I needed a new igniter and ballast, over $800 - I passed on that. So a few weeks later my car barely starts and I figure its the battery which I got at Michaels, they get me in same day to get it tested. Battery was fine but the starter was going. Michael mentions the headlight, says its likely just the igniter and gives me a quote less than half the other shop. So I get both the starter and igniter replaced and thanks to Michael skipped getting a ballast I didn't need. Bottom line this is an honest shop, everything has been fixed right the first time, and their communication is great. read more

I've taken my car in a few times for general seasonal inspections and I just love Michael's. The staff is very friendly and they'll sit down with you to explain everything your car needs or doesn't need. They make me feel like no question is too silly which is great because I know nothing about cars. My car is getting up there in years and I think it would be easy to get overwhelmed by the amount of work it needs but Michael has broken it down into categories of "urgent", "wait a few months", "wait a little longer" which is awesome. So far, Michael's timeline has been spot on for me. Also, this is random but important (I think): Michael's put in the very best windshield wipers I've had in ten years. Seriously. I bought my 16yo daughter a 2006 VW Beetle after the headlights started to cut off. Took it to another shop who gave me a quote for more than $1000 to replace the headlight assemblies. I took it to Michael's and they were able to repair the headlight assembly mounting bracket and wiring harness so the lights would seat properly and function. Total cost for the repair... $112 While waiting for the car to be finished up and sitting in the waiting area I found many others that feel Michael's is one of or the best auto repair shop in the area. I was referred to them by a friend that says he has been using Michael's for 15 years for after warranty work. While I was there...an owner with a newer (still under warranty) still chose to have Michael's do some work on his car. Highly recommended. read more

I wish I could give less than 1 star. My car ran over the water log and the metal and plastic cover from the bottom came off and needed a new one. I called them initially and sent the pictures of the part, they needed me to get the car in to order the right parts but initially quoted me $229 including parts and labor based on the pictures shared earlier. Dropped off the vehicle later and they kept it all day and gave me a quote of $415 for the same parts + some additional bolts which take about $20. I declined to get the parts ordered and was charged $81, Never in any of my conversations was I told that there is a charge to inspect and that too at this extent. Would never recommend it to anyone and expect them to be more transparent about their prices. read more

By my profession, I moved five different states last 19 years. Every time I moved, I always had a difficult time to find the right barber (or hair stylist), a vet (for my dog) and a trustworthy auto mechanic. All the trust and relationship that I established with them, I had to start all over with new people every time I moved. I believe that, at least, my search is over for finding the right auto mechanic for my cars until I will move again. I am a very inquisitive person and a tester & verification engineer by my profession. When my car was in need for an expensive repair, Michael, the shop owner, explained to me what the necessary things I should have them fix and what options I have.
