We recently returned to the area after being out of state for three years. During that time, our prior AAA approved shop had been bought out. So when I saw this shop on our way to and from work I was excited. Shop always looked neat and clean. :) Booking the appointment with Blake was seamless and quick. Brought the car in and Mel did a really thorough job of making sure he understood why we were bringing in the vehicle (there was a list!). Shop was very clean and well kept. Mike called us around noon and explained everything. Very professional, unassuming, and candid. I appreciated that he took the time to explain what was done, what needed to be done based on specific issues that were found, and addressed the items they could not diagnose. He even went so far as to explain how issues are diagnosed and that nothing had come up for one of our concerns. Everyone we encountered was friendly, knowledgeable and candid. They called when they said they would as well. So we were always well informed. Will be back! read more

I've used AA Auto for more than 20 years. A neighbor suggested that I would get better service there than with the dealer. My Honda is more than 30 years old and runs like new. They have saved me so much through the years and I trust AA to always provide professional and trustworthy service. The people there are the best!! Redmond is so lucky to have AA Auto. I originally called a few weeks ago to ask about pricing for an oil change and scheduled an appointment for yesterday. But when I arrived, they said I wasn't on the schedule. Luckily they were able to fit me in the same day as a waiter. He said it would take a while but I was in and out within an hour. It was so fast! I forgot to get his name who helped me but he was super nice and friendly. I also appreciated that they didn't try to sell me on any other services. Very happy with my oil change experience and would highly recommend! read more

This is probably the best shop I've been to in all the states I've lived. They've taken care of my car for the past 5 years now and I still bring my car here even after moving 40+ minutes away. I've never walked out feeling like I've overpaid or my issue wasn't fully repaired. For as long as Mike and the guys are here, I'll be coming back. Keep up the good work and thanks for being a good honest shop read more

Brought my Toyota in because I noticed moisture under the oil cap, and the mechanic took the time to thoroughly inspect it and explain exactly what was going on and why. I never felt rushed or talked down to--just clear, honest information. Customer service was excellent, even with their internet being down that day. Really appreciated the transparency and professionalism. Highly recommend. read more

I've always had a very good experience here with an honest evaluation and recommendation for what my cars have needed. I've even thought one thing needed to be done but was reassured it wasn't the case, so I saved money. They're real, honest, fair, and a good value. That's all very difficult to find in an auto service shop. read more

I highly recommend this service center. I was absolutely impressed with the awesome customer service and professionalism from Mike and Scott. Everything was explained to me, and I feel confident in the work they provided. Not only was everything explained but I was given a fair and honest price. I also appreciated the look and feel of the shop. Gave me a nostalgic feel for a time when service mattered. AA auto has definitely captured that and it is evident by their employees and the work they provided. Definitely checked all the boxes for me and I will be back. Thanks Mike and Scott! read more

Mike was awesome. This shop appreciates the veterans and takes very good care of your vehicle. Being new to the area, I will make this my go-to auto shop. read more

It is rare to find such personalized, small-town feel service around here, but this is it! I cannot tell you how much I appreciate having this shop and this team to service our vehicles. Mike and his team are helpful, friendly, skilled, and professional. They are on top of things, communicate all costs and repairs and do a great job for a fair price. This is our extended family's go-to local mechanic and we have Mercedes, Mazda, Toyota & Ford vehicles in the mix. Thanks again for getting my SUV back on the road last week, Mike! Appreciate you so much, Kelly Kauer read more

Amazing, fast, quality service. We used to live in Kirkland and went to the Kirkland location and we were thrilled to find this location right down the street from where we now live! My car was due for an oil change and to have the front breaks repaired and Mike and his team were so fast and friendly. We had such a great experience that when our other car's breaks started squeaking, we didn't hesitate to make an appointment here to have them looked at. It's hard to find an auto shop you can trust but we will definitely be bringing our cars here for the foreseeable future! read more

My car died!! Limped it into this shop and they took excellent care of me! Mike was so great. Quickly let me know what they found and took care of it! Will 100% use again if I need it! read more

They did a great job fixing everything and following up! I didn't know that much but did a great job explaining when I asked. Would recommend! read more

The only place I will take my vehicles. Mike is always honest and straightforward. Never recommends fixing things that don't need to be fixed. He has diagnosed issues when others couldn't. He is prompt, friendly and works quickly to get you back on the road. Highly, highly recommend this shop! read more

Mel was the person I spoke to when initially scheduling my diagnostic. He was very professional, answered all my questions. I was checked in quickly when my car (towed) arrived. Dimitri is the technician who diagnosed my car as it's a German brand and he is the specialist. I knew he knew how to diagnose a VM as he has been working on this car brand for more than 2 decades. Mike is the shop manager. He called me with the bad news that my engine was blown. He gave me the option of getting a used engine myself and they would install it and it would be much better financially doing that. In the end, I opted to not repair my car due to the value of the car vs what I owe vs the engine/repair bill. I would, 100%, recommend this shop to anyone looking to have work done on their German vehicle (but honestly, any brand). read more

Had a wonderful experience at AA Auto Service center! Scott and Mike were super friendly and welcoming. Brought my car in without an appointment and they were able to help me very quickly. Would definitely go back! read more

One of the best services I've had! I cannot recommend more. I came in the morning and got my oil change and serpentine belt replaced. They did all that in less than 1.5 hours. Usually they also wash your car when you do a service with them. Moreover, they were also very responsive. They got back to me with a very reasonable price. Something I really admire and appreciate about this place is their integrity. They only say what I need to replace and doesn't fluff on the things I don't need to change. read more

AA Auto Service in Redmond WA was able to meet all my needs. I went in for a routine oil change and car checkup, and I was pleasantly surprised by the kind customer care and understanding by Meldrick. He explained to me exactly what my car needed without charging my card, making me understand what I was paying for. He even reminded me to use my MFST discount for 10% off. Awesome! Epic! Mike and his terrific crew at AA Auto were referred to me when I needed a tow because my dealership's service department had really messed up again. They are fantastic, and are now my ride-or-die. The quality of their work is top notch on both my vehicles, which are both 20 years old, one foreign and one domestic. Plus AA Auto ALWAYS makes a point of finding discounts so I get the work done at the best possible price. read more

Had a 'sticky' caliper on the front right brake. Got a call saying that both front brakes were 'shot'--I thought this may be the case so asked how much. The answer was $1,074. When picking up, the price magically was $1,574. Rotors, calipers & pads plus a bleed. I argued & insisted they call to confirm the price, Mike said he'd told me the correct amount and that was the price, period. I'm going to have my brakes checked out now by someone I can trust. Side story: Several years ago I took in same vehicle to have an oil leak repaired. They failed to repair or even find the leak, charged me $1,000 +/- and when I mentioned this to Mike, he said, "It's out of warranty." I do not recommend this place to anyone for any reason and I certainly will never return. read more

Came for oil change. Great service. Staff is knowledgeable. Will come back again. Value for money.

I highly recommend AA Auto Service! Great staff, management, and service! If there were ten stars I definitely would mark a ten! I received the absolute best service ever in my 6 years living in Redmond! I was able to call in with my issue and brought it and it was done the same day! They definitely don't overpromise and under-deliver! They got my car back to me sooner than expected and I was able to have a car for the kiddos so they would not be out in the rain. I also loved their shuttle service if you live close by. The extra bucks saved from Uber/Lyft helped to pay my amount due for service! I have found my new auto home! AA Auto Service is honest, reliable, and great service! The owner Mike was very knowledgeable and very helpful. Josephine had great customer service. Thank you to the mechanic who provided the shuttle service. read more

I called in the morning freaking out about my car and the issues that were present. These guys got me in immediately and were extremely calming and reassuring as I am a young adult and know nothing of cars. They got right to work and updated me multiple times throughout the day! I cannot thank the team enough! read more

Needed headlight repair and the wait at the dealership was weeks. Pass this shop almost daily so I gave them a call. Got me in the next day, got the part ordered and fixed a few days later. Having recently moved to Washington I was very happy to find a mechanic that was honest, reliable and with a deep understanding of my 2001 BMW M5. They also addressed two chips in my windscreen Thank you! Will be bringing my car back here. read more

AA Auto service has helped me very much over the last week. After my cars engine light came on they were quick to diagnose it and explain the issues with me and how to fix it. Unfortunately my car was on its last leg and I had to get a new car. (...how many Washingtonians does it take to change a lightbulb..?) Update: so, about a year after I went to get my headlights replaced at this shop, I get a message from Yelp saying there is a comment on my review from the manager. Wow, I think, this guy has a lot of time on his hands! I didn't even remember it at first. But then it came back to me: This was that place that fired the receptionist I mentioned in my review! Was that this was about? Then, I read what the manager, Mike, had added. Scroll down and have a look. He added a bit to the bottom. My reply: Dear Mike: I see no reason for you to make explanation or excuse on this matter. The lights were easily put in order and a little plastic adjustment screw fixed the angle of the lights. So: Why are you trying to find a reason for anything now? We both know I told you my car was in a side impact collision, and the headlights are (I checked) on the front of my car. Plus: they are the same lights that were on the car after the crash, and they weren't crooked until I asked you to replace the lamps. Maybe you're right about the sub-frame and all - who cares at this point? - but the fix was so quick and simple I don't understand why you're rehashing this nearly a year later. Are you under pressure of some kind because of this review? Pressure like your poor receptionist faced? Should I erase it? Give you five stars? What's my move Mike? I just wanted a damn lightbulb replaced, not this ridiculous drama. I don't give a fart in a hurricane what your bosses think of me or my words, but I'm your neighbor, and I'd like to be a decent one. You tell me what you think I should do. Readers: please weigh in and message, if you care; what should our response be when we discover businesses discipline their staff based on our reviews? Should we help Yelp users by being honest, or protect the workers (regardless of competence) from over-reactive, draconian disciplinary measures? AA Auto is a decent business. Mike is a knowledgeable, hard-working, respectable guy. Going back through my interactions to date, it looks to me like the actual culprit in this case is a corporate office too lazy to implement its own real-world customer service monitoring systems, and so instead uses Yelp...and an ax, to take care of any found wanting. I think these guys are STILL giving Mike crap about this little three-star review I did last year! You know how these kind of places work: It's not Mike's fault, or he can't do anything about it, but they'll make him pay and pay. Every little thing used as leverage. This smells like toxic corporate culture to me. But who knows. In two days, after I hear from whoever cares, I'll decide what to do with the review. This is ridiculous. read more

Driving down Avondale Way, a light appeared on my car dashboard stating the battery in my remote was low. I was just approaching AA Auto Service Center, so I pulled into the parking lot. (I should mention that my neighbor has had her car serviced at AA Auto and raves about the work done and the staff.) In the office I asked Meldrick if he could replace the battery for me. He checked his battery supply and found he did not have the correct size. He suggested I go to Rite Aid and purchase a battery and he would install it for me. As I backed out of my parking space he ran out and stopped me. A shipment came that day that included a battery of the correct size. He installed it for me and I was quickly back on the road. This was just a battery for a remote, but Josephine and Meldrick were so nice about it and went out of their way to save me some time and effort. If the staff is so thoughtful about a small item I am sure they would be as helpful with a car repair. Thanks AA Auto, you made my day! read more

I highly recommend AA Auto. Their service is worth the wait, so book ahead as they can get busy! Mike and his team are great when it comes to routine maintenance, but hands down they "take the cake" on diagnosing vehicles. They are fast and thorough and NEVER charge for unneeded repairs or parts - in fact, our BMW SUV is under warranty and when we brought in the X3 for a fuel injector recall, the BMW dealership did not fix the recall properly and as a result carbon was "spewed" all over the engine. It was a MESS! Mike and his BMW technician were so helpful in guiding us through the repair process with BMW to ensure the dealership fixed it correctly the 2nd time. At the time we purchased the SUV, we bought the lifetime oil changes at BMW Seattle, but we recently decided to cancel this - no longer trusting the work BMW does - AA Auto will now be performing our vehicle maintenance and diagnose any future issues that may arise. And yet another example of their service: My mom has a 2009 Honda Accord and her dealership in Eastern WA gave her a list of items that needed to be addressed. I insisted she drive her car over to Redmond and she paid a fraction of what was quoted by Honda. AA did a bumper to bumper check and found some items, but ended up saving my Mom a lot of money. I am grateful for the care her (and her car) received. She is a senior citizen on a fixed income. Mike is honest and very direct and I love that he supports our Military and first responders! I also love the free shuttle service they provide within a certain distance of the shop. :) read more

Went to AA after reading stellar reviews on google. I called up ahead for pricing. they quoted 99 up for brake fluid change and 50 for engine oil. When we went to collect my car, they charged 145 for brake fluid and 100 for oil change. Be ware of the pricing difference here. read more

**Please read this before taking your car to AA Autos**. This is an incredibly untrustworthy car service center who create fictitious and expensive work for your car as was highlighted by a number of incidents: I first took my recently purchased Audi Q7 to AA Autos as the brakes felt a little spongey (I didn't realize at the time but this is a known design flaw with older models), I received a call from the manager, Mike, to say "the brakes are completely shot, they are dangerous and need replacement immediately", shocked I called up the used car center I had bought the car from 2 weeks prior and explained what I had been told, the owner was incredulous that the brakes had been inspected thoroughly before sale and were completely fine. Putting my trust in AA Autos I assumed I had been ripped off and had a full brake system replacement. 3 months later I came in to AA Autos for a service, shortly after dropping the car off I received a call from Mike "hey man, I'm sorry to say this but your brakes are completely shot, you can't drive on them and they need replacing immediately" to which I responded "you literally replaced those brakes 3 months ago" at which point I could hear Mike stammering before saying "let me get back to you" and then hanging up. A few minutes later I received another call with Mike now saying "erm, I'm really sorry, I accidentally misread a 9 as a 4". I decided to ignore the incident and try again with my S5 that I also brought in for a service. Unbeknownst to Mike I had had the S5 brakes replaced by Audi about 7,000 miles before taking it in for this service. Same routine as before I receive a call from Mike "hey, we just checked the brakes, they're literally on the plate right now, the car's not safe to drive" I then informed him that I had just replaced the brakes and again "oh, jeez, erm, let me check", he them called me back saying that in his opinion they needed replacing and a whole load of other BS. So I called Audi up and the first question they asked was "has the brake pad warning sensor light come on?", which it hadn't, to which they replied that there was no reason to replace the pads. I did indeed drive the car for an additional 6 months after this with no brake issues and no sensor alerts before selling the car. Additional incidents: during a service Mike told me that the car needed an obscure piece of work that I unfortunately can't remember the name of, I went along with his guidance but checked online after the fact and read that this particular piece of work is used regularly by car workshops to add unnecessary charges and inflate the service amount, I phoned Audi to double check this and they had never actually heard of this particular procedure, when they researched it themselves they found out that this should never need to be carried out in a car's lifetime. This was suspicious enough, but what was worse was the next service I went in Mike performed the same procedure again but this time didn't tell me, I only found out when I thought the bill seemed unusually high, when I went through the invoice in detail I discovered it had been surreptitiously added on, when I confronted him about it he apologized and then removed the charge (this was the final nail in the coffin when I realized that this guy is completely untrustworthy). The other incident can't directly be attributed to Mike acting in an underhand way but is also very suspicious. I brought my Q7 in for a service with no issues in the cooling system, I received a call from Mike saying that the cooling system needed servicing, already suspicious of Mike at this stage I refused the work and picked my car up. A day later I was driving along and the cooling system light came on with steam pouring out of the bonnet, when I took a look the plastic connector for the coolant had completely come away and it looked as if it had been incorrectly reattached when they reassembled it. Overall this is a totally untrustworthy outfit perpetrated by Mike, but the rest of the team must be aware as well, avoid at all costs. read more

I have used Mike and his team on multiple occasions for personal car and now our carpet cleaning vans. They've never oversold me service, if anything, often time they save us money and even tells us if we don't need the repair I may have thought I needed (I'm a mechanic and fix cars too but I don't have time). When I lived in the Redmond area, Mike was always my go to guy to fix my car. I was a teenager/early college student then and I felt like he always treated me with respect and was never trying to pull one over my eyes. It's been years since I had been back because I moved a bit further away but after trying a handful of new mechanics near me and not feeling like a single one of them was actually being honest with me for some work I was needing done, I decided to make the trek over to Mike's and I'm incredibly glad I did. When giving me the run down on what I needed done, he was very honest about what was actually critical and what I could hold off on and the greenlighted work was done quickly in just a few hours. Safe to say I will not be risking it with any other mechanics, cannot recommend AA enough! read more
