Do not buy alcohol from this place. Support independent liquor stores along 7th Street. There is an amazing liquor store in 7th and Temple with a great selection and they don't make you feel like a criminal. The staff here is extremely rude and paranoid about selling liquor. Worst 7/11 I have ever been to. I live right next door. Between 1:30 and 4 am they lock the doors and hang out inside talking. If they see someone try to come in, one guy picks up a broom and pretends to clean. They have not let a customer in after 2 in over 6 months. Before 1AM, when they are open, they are incredibly rude and do not speak to customers unless they absolutely are forced to. I'm a long time fan of 711 but I have to be honest I don't really need much from this store. What I need is an occasional money order which I purchased today for only $1.50 I always buy a few things as I wait lottery tickets, specialty candy and a wide variety of snacks omg they have the best selection of snacks that I don't need but I must have them. Lol I buy Ramona's bean and green chili beef burritos and I can't lie I like the hot dogs and pizza too. My new obsession Are slurpee's I'm addicted to piña colada and cherry they are so good mixed together perfect for the hot Cali days we have enjoyed lately. I enjoyed a large one today and it was delicious. Rickey sodas are good too. I recently started drinking them they are strong and refreshing my favorites are mango, grape and cherry but I've only been able to find them in 711 stores. I love those sweet Hawaiian bbq potato chips and a sandwich. I drive straight to a nearby park and enjoy my store bought lunch in quiet peace. Friday night. 2:30 am at the 24 hour 7-11 on 7th and Cherry. How great would it be to buy a soda or food? Well...not at this location. They locked the doors with plastic bags and said they were cleaning until 5am. What?!?! You're a 24 hour convenience store but you lock the doors in the most ghetto fashion and deny the multiple customers that came to the store. This is the WORST 7/11 location. My friend's brother (who is in a WHEELCHAIR) was assaulted INSIDE this store for simply saying "excuse me" to a woman so that he could get by. The woman got upset and punched him several times which landed him in the hospital for stitches. The worst part of this is that the CLERK working during this incident refused to call 911 and when we asked for his name and information, he would not say a word. Please avoid this 7/11. Stopped in to buy a big gulp and some ice. There were no straws so I asked the young African American man with locks who rang me up about them, he directed me where to go. I grabbed a straw and tasted my drink, it was flat. I informed the young man who then basically told me too bad, I should have tasted it before I paid for it..... Excuse me? I know that this is not ok at 7 eleven, I asked for a refund so that I can get a bottle of soda. He told me to pick something else out of the machine. I explained to him I can only have sugar free and that the only option was flat. He kept insisting that it wasn't out of carbonation. I asked him to taste it, of course he didnt want to. I asked him if anyone else was there because at this point he's definitely being really disrespectful. I assured him I was not leaving without a soda with carbonation. He kept repeating I should have tasted it before I bought it. Im sure if I had he would have accused me of stealing soda......there is a no win for me here. Again I asked him to call whoever from the back, hes now made me wait while he tended to at least 4 other customers. I explain to him that while it seems like he acts some type of way because hes in "the hood" that people who spend their money here deserve dignity and respect. I asked again for someone else, he finally got them. Two men came out and the younger man told him to give me a refund. He refused..... The young man from the back told me to go ahead and grab what I wanted, he refunded me and charged me for the bottle that i opted for. What really bothered me is that he acted as though refunding me for a soda that costs $1.59 was gonna be a big deal. I didn't ask for anything free and only wanted what I paid for. This week was my first week back to work after the summer off. I stop here often in the morning on the way to work during the school year. I will no longer be stopping here. True... you get "hustled" when you try to go to this 711. I'm not sure why they allow people to hang out outside their business and harass customers? Seems like bad business to me. I came here on a Saturday about 8pm, got bombarded with about 3 different people asking for money (they didn't look homeless or anything BTW, just hustlers). When i was getting back into my car after not giving them money or items from the store, they started yelling obscenities at me (very nice). Then I saw this woman come out, talk to the other hustler there and talk about what suckers people are for giving them free stuff, and then they compared the stuff and money they each got. THE GIST: This place gets a 5 star because they have SOUR PATCH EXTREMES candy! (Made by Sour Patch Kids people and tastes even better! EXTREEEMMMEEE!) One of the best sour gummy candy ever and we can't find them anywhere any more. When coming home from the Dia de los Yelpos event we stopped by this 7-11 on the way home to quench our thirst. Then when checking out we noticed the dusted-over-sun-bleached-dried-up-spilled-soda-covered SOUR PATCH EXTREME bags of candy below the register. Although these bags of candy seem to have been sitting here for months on end.. they still felt soft to the sqeeze test (because hard gummy candy can be rough on the jaw) so we immediately we picked up 3 bags of these. Farewell Long Beach! I shall commemorate my departure by reviewing the 7th and Cherry 7 Eleven. This 7 Eleven has the distinction of being across the street from Que Sera. It basically functioned as an extension of the bar for me and my friends on Release the Bats nights. So many nights I drank beside its dumpster when I was too cheap/broke to pay for a drink at the Que. So many nights drinks and snacks were purchased and smuggled to the bus stop across the street to be consumed before heading into Bats. I really spent more time in the parking lot than I want to admit... This 7 Eleven is the place I got schooled on the proper preparation of nachos. That's an important life skill! I feel that I really came of age at this place. I know all of the panhandlers out front loved seeing us in our goth club outfits- although I always wanted to cover my eyes and hiss "The light, it burns!", upon walking inside. Well 2 Stars means 'Meh. I've experienced better.' so that makes sense. I live right down the street. Its not that bad BUT it can be at certain hours... [ anywhere in between 10PM and 5AM] BUT... One thing I have to touch on about this particular 7-11 is the freaking bums ALWAYS outside of it. Theses guys are great! There is a redbox right outside the store I sometimes use because it's on my way home. I stopped at the redbox and decided I needed a drink, went into 7-Eleven got a drink and went home. Got home and realized I lost my Blackberry, I had just had it at 7-Eleven and started to panic. Had it been another business I would have been less worried but 7-Eleven's have a lot of people quickly coming in and out and honestly some shady ones too. Free slurpee delivered! cups for free slurpee were gone and these guys were offering small coffee cups. Very cool! For the most part they keep the lines moving quickly, so if you are in a rush, its convenient. Same stuff like all 7-11. It's Friday night. I just danced my tail off at the Goodfoot at Que Sera. Time to walk home, but alas! The drunken munchies seem to have taken over. I'm out of cash from using it at the Cash-Only Que, what to do? Where to go? Afterall, it is 1 am. As I cross 7th street on Cherry, I hear angels.. but where are they coming from? Ah, 7 Eleven. After dodging the random drunk beggers and "romantic whistlers", I enter this haven of treats with wide eyes and a growling belly. Gotta run to the libations first to have grab night cap (aka 12 pack of Tecate) before they close it up! Ok, next stop: hot dogs and nachos. Frankly, the Big Bite always looks good, but it just may be a little too much meat for a girl my size, so I usually opt for the regular sized hot dog. I'm sorry, but any place that has a machine that dually dispenses nacho cheese and chili is like Disneyland for a drunk person. And I can't forget to mention the condiment bar! You can have a hay-day with all of the crap (appropriately named) they have for you to top off your tasty weiner or questionably delicious chips. Ok, now what's next? Back to the drinks!! I used to shop here and spend $20 or more a day. They won't scan your drink card. They won't let me buy a milk and then separately buy a bouquet of flowers so I can get a total of $20 cash back. I wanted to get a $20 scratcher. They not only lost my business I hope they loose your business to because they don't know how to make money in America obviously. Its a standard 7-11 when it comes to inventory so this review really isn't about that. Clerks are very quiet, not bad, they want to get you in and out. I give this place a 1 star on panhandling alone. I've been coming here for years and it gets worse every time. The only reason my friends and I even go here is because its a close 7-11 that sells beer til 2am. I wish that the clerks would do something about the people that hang out in front. I usually stay in the car just so I will be left alone but that rarely works as most times they will either signal you or in some cases walk up to your car and even more rare they will lean in your window. read more

Busiest 7-11 I have seen! Good luck with parking! I come here once a week because it is next to the cheapest laundromat ever, so I usually pick up something to snack on (or to get change) as I wait for my clothes to finish. Inside the store, the clerks are rude and impatient. The coffee selection is fresh/nice and the store seems clean though. They take pride in making it nice. Outside the store is a different story. Tons of homeless people and "crazies" that lurk around and ask for money. I lock myself in my car. There is one guy who is always drunk (and still drinking out of a paper bag) and he waits outside shouting lewd comments to the ladies and "high fiving" the men. EVERYONE knows him. He just watches people in the parking lot. The clientele that tends to go in this store is on the questionable side. Maybe this is why the employees seem unfriendly. All I can say is SKETCHY!! On the plus side, they have TWO Redboxes which are very convenient and Leo's is across the street. read more
