It should be mentioned that 663 Bistro is no longer a full service restaurant but is now a only a Chinese barbeque takeout place. Years ago I had their vegetables in supreme sauce and it was something special. I went back for it again and it was just as special. Roll the clock forward about 10 years and the full menu restaurant part is gone. It is mainly a take out place but there was a table in the closed section of the former dine-in area. We got the 4 meat combo, which we got the roast duck, the roast pork, the bbq pork and the pork spare ribs. First off, the portion was very generous. That alone can feed probably 2-3 people. Roast pork: omg the skin is soooooo crispy. We didn't eat the food until 30 minutes later and the skin was still crispy. The meat was also juicy and there was definitely chunks of fat on them. Bbq and ribs: pretty standard. Not super tender, bit very flavorful. I think they are on par with Kau Kau Roast duck: I like that some of the skin has a subtle crispiness taste to them and was still juicy. Overall, it's a hole in the wall and it was delicious. So my review is based on 2 experiences, first experience is dining in at the restaurant, and 2nd experience is their Peking Turkey. Experience 1: 3 of us stopped in on a Sunday evening for dinner. The place was empty. We ordered: - House Crispy Chow Mein - 1/2 Peking Duck - Cha Sui Pork - Walnut Shrimp The Cha Sui Pork was a little different tasting than what I was used too. The duck was also just alright. I enjoyed the crispy noodles, Cody was not a fan. I enjoyed the shrimp but i have had better. Price wise, very affordable meal! So with experience 1, I would give it 3 stars. BUT.... Experience 2: This restaurant does this thing, where if you bring in your own frozen turkey ahead of time, they will cook it Peking Duck style for $1.50/lb and it is amazing! My friend has done it before and they said it was delicious. So we needed food for Christmas dinner and since we were flying in morning of Christmas and hosting Christmas Dinner that night at our house, we thought it be a good idea to order take out and the turkey for dinner! We brought in the frozen turkey a week before Christmas, place a few orders of other dishes, and they handed us a slip for day of pick up. You can either pay early or pay day of. We picked up the turkey day of Christmas. We cut into the turkey that night and it was so juicy! The meat was delicious. I highly recommend doing this if you don't have time to cook. It was so good. Gotta write an update to my review because 663 Bistro came through for me on Christmas Day. Did you know that you can bring store-bought seafood to them and they will cook it for you? They cooked a 2.3 lb live lobster for me, just perfect for a pandemic Christmas dinner for two. I chose the ginger scallion sauce over a bed of yee mein noodles, and it was phenomenal. To go with the lobster and noodles, I also got the Fuzhou tofu topped with seafood sauce, and they have one of the best garlic green beans in all of Seattle. I always thought they were mostly a Chinese BBQ shop, but their seafood preparation rivals all the other Chinese seafood restaurants in the ID. Highly recommend! If you do decide to bring in your own seafood for 663 Bistro to cook, here are a few tips: 1. Call ahead and make sure they have availability to do it. Be prepared to wait patiently for them to have a break in other orders to clean and cook your seafood. 2. Make sure you buy a few other dishes from them to make it worth their while. They are doing it as a favor / customer service, so make sure you tip generously to reciprocate. Food is good, but their COVID-19 practices made me nervous. The guy chopping the meat had his mask hanging on his chin, and the cashier lady wasn't wearing one at all. The restaurant has been around for awhile, and we came here after realizing Kau Kau was closed that day. But the review on food was good - we ordered a bunch of meats; bbq pork, roast duck and a soy sauce chicken leg. Bbq pork was easiest to eat because it didn't have bones, but the other meats were flavorful and tender. I also ordered Singapore-style vermicelli and bbq pork fried rice. The vermicelli didn't have as much curry flavor as others that I've had before, but it had a nice kick. Fried rice was tasty and hit the spot. Huge portions and everything ended up being about $45. Went there for some BBQ takeout on a weeknight, and there were a few other customers passing thru and getting their orders. Heard the place had good roast duck so ordered half a duck, and also got a pound of the crispy pork. Prices are comparable to other Cantonese BBQ shops in the area ($11.50 for half a duck or a pound of crispy pork). The duck was not bad. It had the right flavors but didn't think it was especially good compared to other roast duck I've had in the area. I actually liked the crispy pork more. The pork had the right level of saltiness, and the skin was crispy even after reheating in a microwave. I've had crispy pork in other places (in other cities in the US) where the skin was either soft or so hard that I had trouble biting thru it, so good to know that Seattle has at least one place that does crispy pork right. read more

Great roast duck and sauces. We were driving around looking for roast duck late one night, and decided to stop in here. Definitely glad we did. The duck still had some crispy skin even after being in a box on a drive home, and had great flavor. Both the plum sauce and ginger-onion sauce were also good and worth an added cost. The duck honestly didn't need sauce, but they each added another level tasty of flavor. The place is undoubtedly a hole in the wall, and prices are cheap, so I don't think it's fair to knock them on certain things which other reviewers have done. I also felt like service was fine. I recently just discovered 663 Bistro on Grubhub this month & it was so good I decided to drive there myself. I frequent the int district & had this saved on Yelp for a while, but haven't gone until now. It taste much better fresh and I love talking with the cashier, Shelia :) She's fun and always gives me extra chili oil. Make sure you ask for some, it's a must have! I put it on whatever I order because it's delicious. The chili itself isn't spicy, but still adds nice flavor. It's really hard to find authentic Chinese food as a vegan, but it's one of my favorite cuisines which is why I'm glad I found this restaurant. My go to for late night Chinese food was always Ho Ho or Purple Dot & when I became vegan, it was very limited what I could eat at those places. Usually only plain congee or deep fried tofu, but the prices raised a lot. At this restaurant, they are so understanding about accommodations like taking eggs out of my fried rice. They also have tons of options for me as a vegan! My favorite is their Buddha delight chow foon which I got today. My food was ready in 10 minute and came out to $13.22 after tax. I've also had their garlic green beans & fried tofu & Buddha delight fried rice which id order all again too, but I'm excited to try the rest of their menu first. The price for the amount of food is a steal. If you call to order over phone, they might have to charge a fee since business has been rough. They aren't open for dine in currently and services like GrubHub take a portion out of their pay. Please go in person & pay in cash with tip as they rarely get any these days if you can. 663 Bistro (July 22, 2022) I have visited this restaurant many times over the years. Although they have an extended menu, I almost always order the Chinese BBQ take-out for ease and normally a quick in-and-out. The location has not offered dine-in service for some time due to Covid, and does not look like it plans to do so in the immediate future. Because of the significantly less dine-on volume, I am pretty sure many of the stored foods do not turn-over as frequently as they previously were, and will likely suffer some quality compromises when they are eventually cooked. There are certain dishes that are less likely to be less affected this way obviously, e.g. Braised Pork Belly with preserved vegetables (The dish is pre-cooked and frozen so you can reheat and enjoy anytime. Be warned that it is a very greasy dish with fatty pork belly, but it tastes heavenly served over white rice. A total comfort food!) My recommendation remains just to order from the BBQ meats either by weight, or in a rice box (Served with a side of vegetables, and a small duck soy sauce container to wet the rice dor added flavor.) You must ask for a container of the home-made hot sauce, whose flavor is specific to this store only. Currently a rice box with a single meat is $12 - lower end of the pricing spectrum compared with other similar BBQ stores. The store also started offering select Dim Sum middle of 2921 to generate additional revenue compensating for the Covid restrictions. These offerings are mostly Baos, pre-packed in a large take-out plastic box stored in a display refrigerator. Prices range from $9 to $11 depending on your selection. They generally taste good, and are priced less than other more dedicated Dim Sum specific places. Worth a try, though nothing spectacular. Customer service is ok. Beneficial if you speak the dialect, which I do. My preferred meat is roast pork. The flavor is consistently good, with little variation, (The roast pork here is roasted in slab form, as opposed to roasting the whole pig. Better quality consistency as a result.) The other BBQ offerings were fine as well. Be adventurous, and try all of them. Happy eating! P.S. There's always a waiting line during peak hours. I first fell in love with their Singapore Vermicelli Noodles 新州炒米粉 when the cook was at Cafe Ori in Bellevue. Unlike other restaurants who just throw a bunch of yellow curry powder onto their "bee hoon" (as Singaporeans call it), 663 makes their own special curry paste from scratch, and this allows the wok to be dryer when they fry the noodles, which in turn gives the dish that "Wok Hei" (burnt wok) flavor that I love! 663 is my go-to for 新州炒米粉, and I haven't found another Chinese resto in Seattle that comes close. Make sure you throw on some of the fried chilli oil on top of the dish for some additional tasty kick! Other favorite dishes are the BBQ meats - you can order a combo mixed plate of three meats of your choice (pork, pork belly, chicken, duck). If you're lucky, ask if they have pork cheeks in stock - so juicy, tender, and tasty. For lunch, another favorite our family loves is the Taiwanese Pork Chop over Rice. You get a generous portion of two well seasoned fried pork chops and a shredded pork and pickled greens topping over the rice. Working in the ID, my collegues and I frequent 663, and one go-to dish is the Bitter Melon Beef or Chicken (if you like bitter melon my colleague swears by this healthy dish), and my other co-worker always orders the MaPo Tofu or the Garlic Stir Fried Green Beans. They have an extensive menu and pretty much anything on there is good Chinese food by Seattle standards. They just renovated the place to make room for a bigger kitchen to serve Dim Sum in the near future (looking forward to trying that out), but honestly, I preferred the previous color scheme IMHO, with the poetic Chinese calligraphy on the back wall. read more

The story is the first time I came here, I ordered their honeymoon fried rice and it was the first time I had that dish and I am married to it ever since. The little details: This time coming here, I can tell their chef is different, as their honey walnut prawns did not include tomatoes on the sides of the dish; however, the dish was still good as described earlier and the walnuts were toasted perfectly, with the right amount of sweetness and crunch. The honeymoon fried rice consists of fried rice underneath 2 sauces (red - which is tomato and white - which is cream); it also has strips of chicken, tomatoes, peas, onions as well. It was good, but this time they made the tomatoes bigger and chunkier. Hot tea comes with your meal and that was good since this day was pretty cool out. Their service was good and timely. I also recommend their hot clay pot that has fish filets and eggplant and yang chow fried rice. BEST CHINESE BBQ PORK in Seattle I've been on a mission to find Fatty juicy Char Siu and I'm super excited to say I finally found it! These glorious meats are from @663_bistro located right in the center of ID. It's the small restaurant that has Chinese meats hanging by the window. I've tried their food for the past couple weeks and converted all my friends to 663 bistro fans over any other Chinese bbq spots in ID. They also have the best duck, ginger scallion chicken and roast pork (so all the meats lol) but honestly I'm just too infatuated with the fatty Char Siu. It literally melts in your mouth AND the best part is it doesn't need any mustard or plum sauce because it's that flavorful!!! I almost cried no joke when I first tasted it. I describe the flavor as Duck soy sauce. Words can't describe how delicious the char siu is so bookmark this spot and try it yourself! Look for Jackie the owner and ask him to cut the meat the way you want it so in other words, ask for the fatty caramelized ends of the pork belly Heads up to people who visit 663 Bistro - you need to inform the meat chopper how you like your meats! The earlier you get there the more likely they will have pork belly parts there. If you go there late then you'll probably end up with pork cheek which is slightly leaner! Pre COVID was my go to spot for good old fashion comfort Chinese cuisine. I came by recently for something I have been craving: roast pork & bbq pork. I came in 2nd in line and they didn't seem to be in any rush which is fine because I was not either. I ordered 1lb of roast pork and 1lb of bbq pork. Fast forward , I get home excited to eat and the roast pork is great! What I've been craving. I notice the bbq pork looks darker in color than usual but I try it and it was so hard! Bbq pork should be red or pink on the outside but white meat inside. From my photos I think you can tell it is hard. I'm not sure if they just gave me an old piece that had been sitting there for a long time but it was like pork jerky. I agreed and it was good, not bad, had a lot of fat on the roast pork than meat but still ate it. The soy chicken was alright too. YASSSSS I don't even remember the time but it was pretty late and I was craving authentic Chinese food. Saw the photos from previous reviews and the hanging roasted pork and duck drew me in. Their combos are CHEAP and so worth it. I got a three item rice combo and MANN, he filled up that container. No complaints here. If you were to sit down and eat. It's a bit tight and would be perfect for parties to reserve. There was a family who basically took up the entire restaurant while I was there but the staff were still able to take care of me on a timely manner. Bang for your buck kind of place.
