Upon entering, you're kindly greeted in a traditional Chinese interior and brought to a personal dining room with its own vent, a traditional Chinese village-style roof and sliding doors--perfect for dining indoors during the pandemic. The personal dining room was big enough to seat about 6 people, had good lighting with a large central hot pot space, plenty of counter space for your dishes, and a call button if you need service. The sauce cart is pushed right to the room door so you don't need to leave the comfort of your room to make your hot pot sauce(s)! The waiters and waitresses were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about menu items. In terms of the menu, it was quite diverse with a wide range of seafood, meat, vegetarian, and drink options! For my hot pot I had a 2-broth split pot of the special herbal soup and the spicy skewer soup. I personally loved the spicy boneless chicken feet, okra, and sashimi for appetizers and for hot pot I loved the fresh oysters, snowflake beef, fatty beef, pork belly, Japanese tofu, assorted vegetables, and shrimp paste! The place was honestly just okay. I got the pork bone broth and that was pretty flavorful. They do have cucumbers in there for those that have cucumber allergy. Came around 3pm and were seated pretty quick in the basement. The room we were in was pretty cold but eventually warmed up as we were eating The fried crispy pork was really good and the snow beef. The first round of snow beef was really tender and delicious. The second round wasn't as good as the first one. The menu is a QR code that you scan on your phone. I wish it had pictures so that you can see what you're ordering. We had ordered boneless chicken and it turned out to be chicken feet so that was misleading. The veggie selection is small with only 5 choices and they had run out of A choy I'm not a big sashimi person but based from my other friends who ate it, they said that it was okay. However the booth is very cramped and it sucks that you have to keep standing up if you have more than 2 in 1 booth. The sashimi and oysters are fresh but not amazing. With the price point of $75 bucks per person and the average service (no one offered dessert; water with no ice), I would rather spend the money at Haidilao. You have to pay for the acye and the soup base. Maybe because we were all girls and we're not constantly ordering endless amounts of food, they allowed us to stay past 2 hours as we were mainly chatting at one point. One disappointment : Weird reservation system where each reservation request was rejected, and you do not have the ability to queue on waitlist unless you're at the restaurant. Was told 45m to 1hr wait but was seated after 1.5hr. Provided that their waiting area is a bit on smaller side - it was pretty packed and people ended up waiting inside the hall where the dining rooms were. Now onto the brighter side where I really thought the long wait time was worth it Typically I wouldn't have bothered with the wait time but the pictures looked quite promising and I've got to say this placed nailed it on the delivery. 1) Service is SUPER fast. I've been accustomed to AYCE joints where they took a bit to bring out the ordered item. So as I was seated, I placed an order for a big handful and boy the items were being fired out of kitchen like a machine gun. So for those who haven't been there - rest assured and order with moderation because you will run out of table space. Within 10 minutes of being seated all of the stuff I ordered arrived at the table and I had to temporarily park some dishes on the seats. 2) The waitstaff are super friendly and proficient. As soon as call button was pressed someone appeared almost instantly and tables were constantly checked to clear out empty dishes. 3) The food items were super fresh. Shucked oysters, sashimi and LIVE shrimps on skewers were all great. I think where a lot of restaurants miss their point on are on clams and I've got to say this place really took their time with the clams because it almost looked as if they scrubbed each clams and soaked them properly. The restaurant is lined with booth rooms so each party has their own space. For $48.80 per adult, there is a wide variety of options. You get all the typical hot pot fixings as well as sashimi and some appetizers. We ordered marinated cucumbers, fried crispy pork, raw oysters, and a sashimi platter. The marinated cucumbers were bright and acidic, I couldn't stop eating them! The standouts on the sashimi platter were the sweet shrimp and scallops. The oysters were very fresh and I would come back just for these. For hotpot we ordered the wintermelon seafood soup and tomato soup. Our favorite add ins were the shrimp paste, live shrimp, fatty beef, and wide noodles. Blue crabs, prawns, clams and mussels were also offered included in the price! There were plenty of super premium options like snow crab legs and uni that you could add for an additional cost. We also got the watermelon juice which was super fresh and delicious. They have SO MUCH fresh seafood no other ayce spot will give you and that's on top of all the general hot pot meats, veggies and noodles. If you can really eat and like seafood, the all-you-can-eat is really worth it. However, like most all-you-can-eat places, everything is mediocre. The pork bone broth base didn't have much flavor, the seafood was frozen solid, and even though the oysters and shrimp cocktail were fresh, they're cocktail sauce was gross. Such a small detail, but it would make those items delicious. Why not put a little more love into the small details and the meal could be great instead of mediocre? The sashimi was uneven, the salmon, tuna, and scallops were delicious but the hamachi wasn't fresh and the sweet shrimp were frozen solid when it was served to us. The seating is comfortable as each booth is separated for privacy. I guess you can close the door if you want to, but we didn't. Our server was polite except when we reached our time limit and he started rushing us out (which is fair) but I can't help feeling slightly annoyed. It was empty when we arrived, but it did fill up when we were finishing. I really enjoyed the carp, fresh mushrooms, and veggies but the best part of the meal was the complimentary grade A Wagyu beef that was offered if we send an invite for the restaurant on WeChat. That meat was like butter. Such a shame to drop it in the hot pot. I wish we had a grill or skillet to get that sear, that would've put it over the top. I have been here on two separate occasions, one in a small group for a casual dinner and the other in a big group for a birthday. As a group of 4, the wait was not long with a reservation and we were put into a private room with a table that comfortably fit 4. There was a garbage can and a table to hold empty trays and plates in the room which were very convenient. They even roll the sauce cart over to your room to make your sauce without having to wait on line! The food selection for an AYCE hotpot is great in my opinion. My favorite options were the shrimp paste and snowflake beef. Everything else was good and the seafood selection is better than most AYCE hotpot restaurants. At first I was hesitant about the sashimi, but they were good for AYCE. As a small group, I really enjoyed my experience and the food. As a big group for a birthday, I did have a different experience. It's nothing negative and I understand that it's hard to serve a big group especially if the staff is spread out to serve both the private event rooms AND everyone else. I just noticed the difference between eating here with a group of 4 versus a group of 16. In terms of the food, I also realized whenever we ordered the snowflake beef, we were being served the fatty beef. All of the bad reviews are true.. my boyfriend and I came for lunch on a Saturday to give this AYCE hotpot spot a try. Upon entering, the staff was friendly and guided us to a private dining room. This is where the downhill started. Once we placed our initial order, the staff were not to be seen. Once we placed our second order, 60% of our meat did not come. For example, we ordered 4 plates of beef and only 1 plate of 6 slices of beef came. We placed 4 orders of the snow crab leg, and only 3 legs came! 3!! Our soup broth was boiling down to almost nonexistence and they finally came to add more broth. Verdict, there are other great AYCE spots in Flushing, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. read more

Out of the many hot pot options , I love the vibe here as it is delightful. There are a ton of options to choose from. These range from meat to vegetables and appetizers to sashimi. However keep in mind the portions are small, on the good side you can practically order one of everything and have a taste of everything .Although, please only order as much as you can eat because you will be charged for excessive leftovers. Moreover the service here is great despite how busy it was our server gave great service. Despite having ayce hotpot AND sashimi I was pretty disappointed with my time here for dinner. While it's super cool to get your own little private "cubby" for dinner, it sadly didn't make up for the lack of attentive service. We ordered our first round of sashimi and hotpot items and while our server was there for the initial order, we ended up never receiving a third of our items. We even tried to flag down other servers who said they'd get back to us, but never did. At the end of it we just accepted we wouldn't get what we ordered and had to even flag a different server to get our bill. In terms of food quality, while the sashimi was pretty good, the hotpot is pretty standard in terms of meat quality and options. This was our 3rd time with this place. We had a party of 14 for dinner; this review is solely for the lack of service. So when we first arrived, we asked for appetizer for one of each so we can try them all. They have maybe around 8/9 appetizer dishes total, the server told us we shouldn't order this much and won't allow us order 8 or 9 appetizers for a party of 14 people. This is ridiculous as this is buffet and we are a group of 14 people. I am sure we can finish 8/9 small plates of appetizers. Then the server only gave us 5 skimmers for a party of 14, he told us they ran out of skimmers and we should share skimmer among 14 of us. Please note we are not sharing any pot, everyone had their own individual hotpot. So sharing 5 skimmers for a party of 14 with individual pot is just not going to work.I am not sure what kind of hotpot place runs out of skimmer. It's basic requirement to have utensils in order for a restaurant to stay in operation. Asking customers to share skimmer is not only inconvenient, also not hygiene. Throughout the whole dinner, our server didn't check in on us once. We had to refill our own water cups, refilled our own hotpot soup, cleaned our own plates, got new plates on our own, we even we had to bring tray of food to our table since they just left them at the entrance. But 37 Alley prides themselves on their seafood forward menu, which is a great diversity and breadth of cooked and raw seafood. When it's cold outside and you're craving a warm filling soup with spicy Sichuan mala, you also get the bright and tender sashimi, geoduck, Australian lobster, oysters, live prawns, king crab, crab legs, mussels, clams, scallops, etc. The seafood feels fresh and light and the sashimi was tender. It offers great diversity to the typical hot pot experience. On the hot pot side, 37 Alley has all the typical menu items, like fish balls, beef, pork, etc. The sauce bar is carted individually to each semi-private room, with the typical sauce bar accoutrements. Service was unfortunately lacking and it was near impossible to get anyone's attention for help. We ordered certain items and items would often never arrive since service would just forget. DON'T WALK, RUN HERE! literally the best dining experience I've had so far in NYC this year. The all you can eat is so worth it if you've come belly empty, and the best part is you order on a tablet, and don't have to be annoying and flag down staff (which is great if you're an introvert like myself). You get your own private table separated from other customers, great ambiance and experience for first date or intimate dinner with friends. They have your own sauce bar where you can customize your sauce. Although maybe it would help to add labels in English to ingredients as well (although it was kinda fun to taste test everything myself and figure out what they were). Stand out's were the beef cuts we got, the crab was fun to cook, the spicy salmon dumplings. And the fresh raw salmon was amazing! We also got the chicken and tomato broth, both were extremely yummy, but I think I preferred the tomato broth my friend got instead of the beef, it added extra flavor! The only thing is have to say is the chicken we ordered was a questionable soggy texture, but that's just a preference.
