I came in for a private family thanksgiving celebration downstairs, the front desk greeted me and ushered me to look for my party. The ground floor areas looked private, each with their own cubicles. We each got our individual soup bases, i got the chicken soup which was delicious, and our sauce table was right outside the room. As evident by their restaurant name, there were many fresh seafood options, from mantis shrimp and abalone, to sashimi and fresh lobster aside from the usual meats and fishball options. the sauce bar had their usual items, did not particularly stand out. Although i can't speak for every dish, most dishes were great and well presented. there are also free bottled drinks such as ramune, jasmine tea, soy milk, and coconut milk. I went and had the 80$ AYCE waygu and seafood buffet. The quality was very good. It included lobster but you only get one, but it was fresh and delicious. I am truly disappointed with how my recent visit went. I frequented this hot pot a few times ever since they opened a few years back. Back then it was around $40 pp, now the price went up to $58 pp. A few weeks or a month ago we came by and it was only $50 pp. To us the price isnt a problem as long as the food is good. This visit we barely got everything we ordered as which they said it was due to the system being downed. When we walked in they told us service might be a little slow because servers are on their break, we didnt mind since everyone deserves their breaks. At this point we had no idea system was down since they passed us an ipad to order food since they no longer had the paper menu like they did before. We punched in the items we wanted, got only 1/3rd of the order. Food took about 15-20 mins to come out. Ordered drinks but never came out, we had to remind them a few time. Note the servers were on break but we still had our designated server who was on duty. Also, there were only about 5 other parties including us but they were already finishing up. Everything started to go down hill when we tried to order more food. Around this time there were already more servers coming back. We placed another order of the pipi shrimp and that never came out. Ordered it another time for it to come out 30 minutes later. We also tried to order another live shrimp only for them to tell us it was sold out along with half of the other items we requested. This restaurant should also consider their sanitation. There was no soap found in the bathrooms. Bowls for sauce and soup were placed on the bottom of the carts where dust and dirt can easily get on the bowls as it was in a high traffic area. Payment was also a hassle since we were also told upon payment that they were only accepting cash for today, we only had card. At this point we were frustrated with the entire stay since nothing was available and we had no notification of any of it. They all seemed to not know what they were doing, no adjustment or adapting to the system being off. When we were paying they were telling us to tip 18%, which is absurd to tell how much to tip considering the experience was bad. Tip is paid based on the servers performance not by the bill. Our party of 20+ had the private room in the back all to ourselves. As is the nature of AYCE, there was endless food. Especially the hotpot meats!! The service is great- because we were a big group, the servers brought out a ton of their basic drink selection (sodas and teas) that everyone can take. All the ingredients were great, and you definitely get your bang for your buck here with all the sashimi (salmon, octopus, oysters, and more). Some of the sashimi was a liiiitle fishy for my taste. I recommend making your hotpot sauces in the beginning, because the hot pot broths are served faster than I expected, and once the food comes out it did not stop, and I didn't want to get back up again, especially once the broth was boiling. And it's great to use the sauces for dipping the sashimi! The Karaoke component is so fun!! All the walls are lit up with the projector, namely the front and back of the room, so that no matter where one is sitting they can see the video and lyrics of the song. I recommend to get settled with the food and hotpot first. After eating a bit, we turned off the lights to let the party begin!! My one point of feedback: We only had 1 iPad to share amongst our entire group. It stalled ordering times and felt like there was one main person in charge of the iPad, or we spent time figuring out where it was. If the majority of the group doesn't care what is ordered and is hoping to get guidance from one hotpot-savvy person, then that's fine, but especially if it's a big group of people with different preferences, it was difficult to keep track or share around the iPad. When you first walk in, the ambience and decor looks really nice. However, since we had a party of 11 we were sent downstairs to sit and it was a HUGE change of decor. First room we were told to sit in had no ventilation and it smelled musty like a basement / bathroom would. And the lights were flickering on and off so we asked for a new room. In the second room the smell was gone but the floors were sticky and slippery (perhaps from the hotpot's?) so the floor had condensation. Then while eating, we saw TWO roaches on the wall. I lost my appetite by then. As another reviewer said, just sit upstairs. Downstairs looked dingy, smelled, had roaches - if this is what you like, this is the place for it! We told the waiter about the roaches and he just nodded his head and left. When bill came of course the 20% gratuity was automatically on the iPad when I was told to sign as we had a party of 11. Didn't even get a discount or anything for seeing two live roaches on the wall. Will not be coming back as bill was close to $1k for 11 people. You can pick shrimp cocktail, raw oysters, snow crab legs, sashami, and many more that would normally cost extra. Each table has their own private area / room. It'll either be individual pots or shared. We came a bit late so we couldn't get the individual pot room but everything was still good. Our waiter wasn't as thorough as we would like him to be. He comes back to bring the plates away but other than that, he didn't do anything else. I had to remind him to get me water twice. They put you in private rooms which is kinda nice, but the service was absolutely awful. 1/3 of the stuff we ordered never came even when we followed up multiple times. They basically never come back to check on you unless you like go out to get them and even then, they never would bring you stuff that you ask for. In addition, to use the sauce bar, they wheel the cart outside to your room and there's like no where to stand to get your sauces. If you're doing walk-ins you'll have to try to come early and parking isn't so friendly in this area unless you paying for it. $50 a head pretty much AYCE includes Sashimi. I've been wanting to come here since they opened and finally got the chance to at the end of April. Sushi and hotpot sounded like a strange combo, but I like both so why not! I liked the idea that every party would have their own little room too. My family decided to to early, around 6pm to avoid the crowds. We were seated immediately since they weren't busy yet. I did my Yelp check in to get a free beverage- they only have one option, I think it was a grapefruit drink. This was yummy! We started with some oysters, sashimi and ordered the hotpot items as well. Oysters were not bad and the sashimi same. The salmon, yellow tail and red clams were of usual quality. I was super excited for the scallop but it was a little fishy. We didn't end up ordering any more sashimi or oysters. I also don't understand the concept of charging for soup base at an AYCE restaurant? We had to pay an additional $5.50 per soup base, which increases the price per person to $55. (I saw they just increased their adult price by $3). The fatty beef was a miss the day we went. I think that's the most important thing when I go out to eat hotpot. Most were too fatty in one area making it unpleasant to eat. The seafood options were good though- the "live" shrimp (wasn't live when we got it), crab, small clams were all good. I also liked that big clam that they cut into pieces. The shrimp paste, which is usually a favorite, was weirdly salty? Overall, I mean the food was OK but for this price... I was expecting more. Especially service wise and the service was.... not good at all. For starters, they did not even give out enough ladles per person. We had 2 for our table of 4. Having Sashimi included into the deal is surely a wonderful deal because u can keep on ordering and it costs the same as AYCE hot pot. The 1st floor decor and interior renovation seemed nice, but they sent us to the basement as we had a party of 7. The basement looked like a working area and no interior decoration at all. There was a big round table in the room and small pots were placed by the edge for individual usage. The chairs were way to low and it was very uncomfortable. If I needed to get the raw food to place in my pot, I would have to stand up to get it. I was doing standing up (to grab food) and sitting down (to eat) for approximately 90 minutes throughout the meal. They had very limited food selections and drink options. Some typical hotpot foods (i.e. fish balls, beef ball, watercress, etc.) were not available there. The price came with free drinks, but the can sodas were placed by the sauce section (not even in fridge) and there were only a few choices of drinks available. The service was prompt and the servers quality were very different. One waiter was very friendly and attentive, but the other waitress seemed know nothing about the food. I asked the waitress what was one of the raw food on the plate, she said she did not know but she would find out. Then she never came back to me with an answer. The shrimps were very fresh and still jumping on the bowl. They were generous about food portion, but the seafood options were very limited given the price it charged. The sashimi was low quality and waterlogged from defrosting, the uni was also of poor quality and handled roughly, and the oysters were near room temp with little nectar and not served on ice. The best items were the sliced meats, enoki mushroom, and spinach. Service was whatever. I'd hit the call button and people would look at our booth in passing but never come in if we looked like we were in conversation. What's the point of the button then? The sauce cart was dirty with plastic spoons touched by other patrons and missing hoisin sauce. Do yourself a favor and go to Haidilao instead. read more

In the age of COVID, having private booths feel especially reassuring to me as a patron so that aspect was a major draw to me. I came here last Friday around dinnertime rush and was luckily able to score the last available booth without a reservation. It's roomy, nicely lit, and stocked with plates/napkins/etc so you don't need to wait for waiters to bring you the essentials. In fact, they even push the sauce cart to your door so you never have to leave your booth. The menu is also fantastic-- AYCE sashimi, oysters in addition to hot pot? And appetizers too? Sign me up! There was a wide variety of offerings (I've included pics of the menu) but my favorites included the shrimp paste (so bouncy and succulent!) and the fish roe balls (fish balls with a roe filling in the center). They market themselves as a seafood AYCE hot pot restaurant, which was an accurate statement. Expect fresh clams, mussels, crabs, shrimp, and more all included in the buffet price. In addition, we ordered the uni ($15 for 2pcs) and the geoduck ($30/lb), the former of which was not that great. The price is $45.50pp but they do apparently charge for soup base. Between three people, the soup charge was $18.50 (we chose the mushroom and the herbal soup). At 37 Xiang, it is a private room for each party which quickly creates an atmosphere of privacy and intimacy. The sauce cart was conveniently placed outside our room as soon as we ordered. We started off with oysters and sashimi. Veggies, clams, beef and other seafoods was next. The host, waiters, waitresses were warm, fast and professional. The food was fresh and delicious! Today i decided to try out this place that has been on my list for a while. I found it on Instagram. Food and pricing: Xiang is a high quality Hot Pot place which specializes in seafood especially. It is all you can eat. Certain foods such as Lobster cost extra, but the vast majority of foods there such as Octopus Sashimi or HUGE shrimp cocktail and all sorts of seafood are all you can eat and included in the price. Food Quality: The good part is that the food was fresh, they also tasted high quality. Other stuff: They had the lobster advertised as Australian Lobster when it was really just a slightly larger canadian lobster. Some of you are probably saying "big deal, what is the difference. A lobster is a lobster". An Australian Lobster is HUGE compared to an American or Canadian Lobster. Not just a little larger, but MUCH bigger. It also has a different flavor to it, it is more sweet and tender. But the size of it is HUGE compared to what you usually have. Aside from that though, this place was very good. It is almost $50 per person not including certain other seafood items. It is the typical hotpot with soup base, I think the uniqueness is the seafood offerings and the sashimi plus oysters in addition. If you like seafood and hotpot, this is the spot. I've been to many AYCE hotpot place, nothing compares to this one. It's $48.80 for adult for a 2hrs seating; it seems a bit pricy for hotpot but you get what you paid for. They have not only just the hotpot but also some sashimi is included. Sashimi including yellow tail, while tuna, scallops, salmon and sweet shrimp that's also AYCE. Some items are extra like uni, lobsters and king crab will need to reserve as well. Unlike other hotpot places, this restaurant offer variety of meats and fresh seafood. And the shrimp came out are still alive, that's how fresh they are. There are also fish, mussels, clams all very fresh. All the other food you can get from regular hotpot places you can still get from Here, they only offers more and premium fresh products. It's definitely worth every penny. I didn't get to try all of the food in the menu. So please come with empty stomach. The whole place are individual suits with choice of large pot or small individual pots.
