Food absolutely fantastic and service impeccable..from our hostess and server. Then why the three stars you ask?? As a resident of the building, my cousin is permitted a 15% discount on the total bill. The check came, no discount. Called the server over, explained...then came manager. She says her hands are tied nothing she can do if 8 or more guests no discount (we were 6 adults and two little kids) celebrating his mom's birthday. Cool. Show us where it says that be sure nobody told us that when he reserved as a resident. Apparently it's not written it's and "unwritten rule" that they all know about and expect others to read their mind. So why does he mention he's a resident when reserving, nobody tells him then, nobody tells him now it's just "known". He asks then why do they want us to tell them we are residents coming for brunch? She states "because we treat residents better than those who don't live here". Swear. She said it. Everyone heard her. Then she tells us you can speak to concierge. Perfect. We go speak to concierge. They looked at us like we were crazy. They have nothing to do with the restaurant and have no idea why they would tell us that. We go back again she calls someone who she claimed she already called when her hands were tied. Clearly she never did because this was the first he heard about it. He stated the same. Unwritten rule that nobody knows and no need to tell. So while 15 percent off of $1030 bill may only be $150 in their eyes, its principles. So here we are. Won't be back, but I'm sure that's typical there. They just cater to tourism and hotel and I get it.

Amazing experience! We are visiting Miami and Isaac took such great care of us. He explained the menu so wonderfully and created a memorable experience for us. We chose the chef's selection of the menu and it gave us a great array of the menu and what Zuma has to offer. The scallops were out favorite! They also have an extensive cocktail/sake/wine/liquor menu. We loved the Japanese Old Fashioned and Osaka Spritz. We were able to sit outside on a gorgeous night, which offered dim lighting with mini lights on every table. The only downside was some of the people bringing out the food did not speak loud enough to explain what type of dish they brought. Minor issue for the great overall experience.

Zuma Miami is an upscale Japanese dining experience that goes way beyond just sushi. From the moment you walk in, the vibe feels elevated but still very social, with a beautiful crowd and an energy that makes the whole night feel special. The service was 10/10. Our server, Claire, really made the experience because she guided us through the menu perfectly and honestly recommended some of the best things we tried. We went for the five pieces of nigiri and five pieces of sashimi, and the fish was incredibly fresh. The presentation was also really nice, but the nigiri was definitely the highlight for me, so good. We also ordered these baked potatoes with a slightly spicy kick that were packed with flavor, and the wagyu dumplings were another standout. Super rich, super flavorful, and the sauce just brought everything together. The only thing I wouldn't order again were the chicken wings. They weren't bad, just very average for the price, and this place is definitely on the expensive side, so it didn't feel worth it compared to everything else. For drinks, I had a blackberry passion fruit martini that was amazing, really well balanced. And we ended with a chocolate lava cake that was also incredible. Total came out to around $400 for two people, with the 20% service already included. It's definitely pricey, but it's not just about the food, it's the whole experience. Worth it if you're looking for a special dinner and want to try different, well-executed dishes. Zuma Miami is an upscale Japanese dining experience that goes way beyond just sushi. We went to Zuma Miami to celebrate our anniversary, and overall it was a great experience. The restaurant was actually smaller than we expected, especially since it looked much bigger in the YouTube videos we had watched beforehand. It still has a nice atmosphere, but just something to keep in mind if you're expecting a very large space. Parking was a bit tricky. The valet in the area costs about $28 plus tax, and personally I don't like other people driving my Tesla. Because of that, I decided to park at the garage next to Whole Foods, which worked out better for us. As for the food, it was very good and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, a couple of the dishes we were excited to try were not available that night, including the famous onsen egg and the beef sticks, which was a little disappointing. The miso soup was very good, and all of the sashimi was fresh and high quality. We also really enjoyed the New York strip and the tenderloin, both cooked well and full of flavor. One interesting detail is that desserts are served in another room, and they were amazing--definitely worth saving some space for. Overall, despite a few menu items being unavailable and the parking situation, we had a wonderful anniversary dinner with great service and delicious food.

We celebrated my wife's 35 (she will kill me for posting her age!) Birthday for Saturday brunch. And we were left in awe. Amazing quality and selection of food. All upscale sushi food. I've never eaten so much wagyu and himachi in my life. The service was also amazing. Our waiter just kept refilling my champagne I think I drank 2 bottles in 2 hours. I didn't feel rushed at all. They say u have a time limit of 1.5 hrs but we were there for 3 hrs with no problem. Restaurant is also beautiful located at the epic hotel. Beautiful water Brickell views. We cant wait to come back to get the Dom p package. Actually not priced badly!!!

I came here for my birthday for Saturday brunch. OMG it was amazing. Not your basic Miami brunch with eggs and waffles. If you are looking for that this place is not it. This is all HIGH QUALITY, fancy, elegant food. Think filet. New York strip. Caviar. Wagyu. Oysters. Tartare. Hamachi. Sushi. All amazing!! I ate so much I think I gained 10 pounds in 2 hours. The package we selected also had cocktails and champagne. They were soooo good. My husband was halfway through his champagne and they would fill it up. They ordered me a margarita before even me finishing it. Amazing service. Top top. And the dessert room was sooooo good. Usually don't go for sweets. And I tried and loved everything!!! I can't wait to come back here and I will!!!!

Very yummy brunch! They had a nice mix of sushi and hot food to choose from and the dessert section was huge. My favorite bites were the wagyu dumplings and the miso cod. Tip: if you plan on drinking more than 2 drinks at brunch, it makes sense to get the unlimited drink special

Decided to stay in for dinner and not venture out, and booked a table at Zuma. Wow - this is not your average hotel restaurant. Now, upon doing some research, I realize maybe I should have known but I didn't so we're moving on. What a wonderful meal. Firstly, everything was shared - so I got to try a lot which is my fave. Highlights - the potato, the mushrooms, the romesco, and the chicken and spring onion skewers. Service was impeccable - kind, attentive and really make you feel like a VIP - even my purse for an exclusive perch. Those were the highlights but everything was great - 10/10 would go back!

Stopped at The Epic to see family who are visiting. We decided to catch up over some light bites and cocktails. I opted for Hugo spritz which I can never go wrong with. We ordered the spicy edamame, tempura shrimp and tempura crab roll. I LOVED the tempura shrimp and edamame. Both were delicious and full of flavor. The crab roll that I thought would be my fav was just ok to me. Service was good, and I enjoyed the nice water view while chatting with other patrons at the bar. Nice unplanned experience.

Zuma is known for their sushi, and for good reason- but don't overlook the gyozas and wagyu, which are just as delicious. Food came out quickly but never felt rushed, and the service was attentive and professional. The vibe is lively and upscale without being pretentious, perfect for a night out or a special occasion.

Food and service were amazing. The calamari was great. The miso cod was sooo good and flavorful. The lobster soup and sides were also great. I hate I didn't catch the waiters name but he was very informative and had great suggestions without being too pushy. I do wish the drinks were a little more stiff! Overall I would come back. Especially to try more menu items.

I have to say I was a bit disappointed at this Zuma location... I've been to Vegas and Boston and they were both different experiences from this one. One major difference was that this location did not have any tempura... how does a Japanese sushi restaurant not have tempura? It looks like it was on before based on the yelp pictures. We also thought that the food lacked seasoning and the service was just so so compared to the other locations. The bone in ribeye was just okay... as was everything else. I would probably pass on this one on my next trip to Miami, maybe try the brunch next time.

Great lunch special $38 per person includes a lot! Great ambience right on the river, could use a little help from the manager on how to run a floor though - service was slow and food took forever to arrive whilst there were a load of employees walking around. Salmon with Teriyaki Sauce was awesome as well as the sushi.

    Ask the Community - Zuma

Does Zuma have food options for children ages 5-10? Specifically for Father's Day or Mother's Day Brunch. Thank you!

Not catered to children meant for adults only

Is the brunch buffet all you can eat?

Yes and you choose a main course, which is based on which brunch selection you choose

    Is there a dress code?

Yes you must dress nicely as this is not a casual restaurant. At minimum you should dress "formal smart casual". Most people will be dressed up, either cocktail or date night attire.

Can I come at night for dessert only and do I have to make a reservation?

Reservations are easy. Weekdays or early evening in summer are not busy and there is plenty of room.

How much is Valet at zuma?

    $17

Does zuma not allow groups over 8 people? I'm trying to make reservations for my birthday and it won't allow me to place a group over 8? Can they not accommodate this many people?

I would try calling them. I'm sure more than groups of 8 could be accommodated

Do you have a Saturday brunch?

Does the brunch come with bottomless drinks?

Yes. Wine and Cocktails are in 3 packages.

Is there happy hour at the bar?

I'm not sure. What my review refers to is only the Saturday and Sunday all you can eat brunch, which has select unlimited alcoholic beverages.

Is this restaurant located inside a restaurant? If so what hotel?

Yes, it is located in the Epic Hotel and Residences

Does anyone have a picture of the wine list? I went to this place a few weeks ago and fell in love with an Australian rose but I can't remember the name of it.

We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your time with us! You are referring to our Cape Mentelle Rosé 2016 from Western Australia, Margaret River, Australia.

An Evening at Yamashiro…read more I had the pleasure of dining at Yamashiro on Wednesday evening with my best friend, and from start to finish, the entire experience was exceptional. It was one of those evenings where every detail--from the food and cocktails to the atmosphere and hospitality--came together beautifully. We started with cocktails. I ordered the Downtown Abbey made with Ketel One Vodka, guava, gold lavender syrup, yuzu, and Prosecco. At $22, it was beautifully balanced--refreshing, elegant, and, most importantly, not overly sweet. The combination of guava, lavender, and yuzu gave it a lovely balance of fruit, floral notes, and acidity. My friend enjoyed a passion fruit margarita, which was equally delicious and a perfect way to begin the evening. For our first course, we ordered several dishes to share. The Katsu Tender Sando was absolutely incredible--easily one of the highlights of the meal. It was so flavorful and satisfying that I could have happily ordered another one. The Cucumber Tataki Salad was the perfect contrast: crisp, tangy, refreshing, and light. It brought a beautiful freshness to the table and helped balance some of the richer dishes. We also had the steamed edamame with truffle, which was such a simple dish elevated by the addition of truffle. It was a subtle but very nice touch and showed how a familiar ingredient can feel completely different with the right finishing element. For our second course, we shared a sashimi and nigiri platter, and the quality of the fish really stood out. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, delicate, and beautifully prepared. Each piece allowed the natural flavor and texture of the fish to shine without being overwhelmed by unnecessary additions. For our main course, we had the ribeye steak, which was rich, flavorful, and perfectly suited for sharing. But if I had to choose one absolute favorite from the savory courses, it would be the miso butter corn. The combination of sweet corn with the savory richness of miso butter was incredible. It was one of those dishes that sounds simple but ends up being something you keep thinking about after the meal. We finished dinner with a lava cake, which was the perfect indulgent ending to the meal. But the evening didn't end there. After dinner, we were invited to experience the new 400 Vinyls room, and honestly, this was one of my favorite parts of the entire night. The room has a completely different energy while still maintaining the sophistication of Yamashiro. The atmosphere feels elevated yet warm and homey, making it an incredibly comfortable place to settle in and enjoy the rest of the evening. And then came the dirty martini--possibly one of the best dirty martinis I've ever had. Made with Beluga Gold, it was beautifully executed and exactly the kind of cocktail you want to end an evening with. The music was another highlight. It was incredibly diverse, with something for everyone, and it created an atmosphere that felt lively without becoming overwhelming. The 400 Vinyls room is truly the kind of space where you can see yourself staying for "just one more drink" and suddenly realizing you've spent the rest of the night there. Overall, Yamashiro gave us much more than just a great dinner. It was a complete experience--from the food and cocktails to the setting, music, and transition into the 400 Vinyls room. It felt sophisticated without being pretentious, intimate without being too quiet, and energetic without losing its sense of elegance. It was the perfect night out with my best friend, and 400 Vinyls was the perfect way to end it.

Osaka Brickell: Extraordinary…read more My wife and I visited Osaka in Brickell, Miami, this evening--and I was so impressed that I rushed home to write this review. The Verdict In one word: extraordinary. We loved it. Restaurants often use the word "fusion" loosely, but at Osaka, it truly applies. The menu delivers Peruvian and Japanese fusion at its best: a thoughtful blend of South American and Japanese flavors, with each bite offering a beautifully engineered explosion of taste. Food The food is creative, beautifully presented, and genuinely unique--but Osaka offers much more than great dishes. Our server, Yesenia, guided us with recommendations that balanced our preferences with the restaurant's signature flavors, including a remarkably fresh sashimi amuse-bouche, Kiiro ceviche, a Hongos Teppan trumpet mushroom dish that was not listed on the menu, and a Nikkei Makimono that brought Peruvian flavors into a traditional sushi roll. The restaurant manager, Miki, also checked in during our meal. The service was casual, attentive, and perfect. Ambiance is paid to every detail. We ate at the sushi bar, but the main dining area was spectacular, and the bar area was sublime. Lastly, the music was a combination (fusion) of new age, Peruvian jungle music and Japanese sounds all blended into a crescendo on the experience. Try it....you'll love it. Ten out of ten !

My friend suggested we go here before a movie on a Wednesday afternoon. I got there early, as we were to be at the movies, at the Silverspot by 6pm. And ladies night/happy hour starts at 5pm. Upon arrival I was greeted warmly by the hostesses and asked if I was there for ladies night. Then I was given two drink tickets. I sat at an empty bar. There was only one other person seated on the other side. At 5:15 a pack of women (5-6 ppl) walked in and started claiming seats and moving barstools around. I was saving one for my friend who was parking the car. When out of nowhere a manager (or someone who appeared to be in charge) ripped over to where we were seated and started talking to me sternly about moving chairs and saving seats. Never have I been reprimanded for saving one seat at a bar when there were other seats open. But I communicated with her that my friend was parking, and that I hadn't moved any seats. She reiterated again, no saving seats and then addressed the girls who moved the bar stools. Her tone was abrasive and honestly given what had occurred seemed out of place, especially that the bar wasn't packed and the restaurant was empty. Unfortunately, this interaction really just tinted the whole experience for me. I was scolded for something benign and also for something I had not done. Before I was admonished, I managed to order a roll (spicy tuna maki) and a drink, the agave picante. Neither was outstanding but neither were bad either. However, given the fact that it was happy hour food/free drinks it was perfectly adequate, nice presentation on both. The bartender was sweet enough and given how the manager treated us I figured he probably received similar treatment from both management and customers, or either or. So I wanted to tip him well. However, when I went to pay, the gratuity was already included and I said to him I wanted to tip him more than $2.40, because honestly he wasn't at fault at all, for how I was treated by his coworker/superior. But I guess whatever system they use makes it difficult to change because he didn't make the effort to let me pay him more. (It took very long to get our check because of said system, not sure why, but the poor man had to go hunt something down to do so. I paid with a normal card, nothing out of the ordinary as did all the people in my party.) My friend who chose the place and the other patron who was sitting at the bar both commiserated with me about the interesting treatment, and said they never saw or experienced what I did. So I hope it was a one off and maybe I was just unlucky to be seated next to a large group of ladies. But overall, if I had to recommend a place for happy hour, this wouldn't be it. Plenty of other places have better options for food/drinks and better service in the area. But I guess if you can't afford to buy yourself 2 drinks at happy hour prices and you happen to be a female, I understand its appeal.

First of all, they are not mindful of cross contamination! They mix someone else's wine bottle in…read morethe same wine bucket as yours and the tops of the bottles do touch each other. Then they pour the bottle touching the rim of your glass spreading contaminated germs from the other patron's glass! GROSS! They proudly boast that their service is top notch, while it's 7 men standing in the corner and 1 sweet woman dressed like a geisha being obnoxiously monitored. The vibe felt very intense there. The hovering over people in this tiny, little whole in the wall restaurant felt overwhelming. I started to lose my patience being that there is so much staff standing around and found myself several times having to pour my own wine bottle. 2nd, I told them it was my son's birthday and nobody went out of their way to make his birthday special! And just a fair warning, you will spend over a $1000 dollars and walk out of there still very hungry! What a disappointment! Furthermore, they price gouge people trying to pass off as if his restaurant is Michelin worthy! An absolute joke! And here's the "best part" when I tried to voice my concerns, I was told to leave! I was very polite and instead of hearing me out, trying to make my experience better, I get told to leave! How disgusting! Please don't come here. The ambiance is terrible, overwhelming, and you will get sick because they have no consideration for cross contamination!

Incredible dinner experience celebrating my birthday with a few friends! Highly recommend sitting…read moreat the sushi counter. Space is gorgeous and the service was top notch. We got there a bit before our reservation time, and they let us sit in the smaller dining area as we waited for our spots to open up. We all did the $200 tasting and we were all pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of the bites. It's 8 courses that range from a nigiri sampler, small bites, and dessert. Most memorable were the clam broth, beef loin and carrots, and the fatty tuna nigiri with caviar on top. The fatty tuna nigiri with caviar was the main reason I wanted the tasting! There is an à la carte menu too, but it was a lot easier just letting the chefs portion out our meal. Would definitely check them out and enjoy a superb evening out!
