It's a rooftop restaurant covered in plants everywhere, which is actually kind of rare for Miami, and it gives the whole space a really nice vibe, especially with the view. I went here twice, once with my parents and then for my boyfriend's birthday brunch for a party of 10. I could not recommend Yamashiro Miami enough for anyone looking to come here. Atmosphere: 10/10 - This restaurant easily has one of the most unique and beautiful venues I've ever been to. I sat outdoors both times during Sunday brunch and it gave great vibes. Food: 9.3/10 - I ordered the Denver steak and katsu sando both times that I went, highly recommend both. My steak was also cooked perfectly each visit. Service: 7/10 - This is more of a lower rating because the first time I went, the service was impeccable. However the second time, our waiter was less attentive and too nonchalant. read more

Must know before you go: the restaurant is located within the Gale hotel. There is no good signage at the bottom but if you park there you use the hotel valet. Parking is otherwise difficult. They are working on indoor seating as well that should be open soon but it is an OUTSIDE only restaurant as of now so during the summer months it can be hot! Otherwise the experience was amazing. The outdoor seating area is beautiful and transports you away from feeling like you are in downtown Miami. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. The cocktails were refreshing and well presented. We started with the edamame and katsu sando. The katsu sando was delicious and tender but in my opinion on the pricier side. I have been wanting to come here since it opened because I love anything Japanese. As soon as you walk in, we were promptly greeted and lead to the bar where the bartenders offered us yummy drinks. Our server was also amazing. 10/10 service. The restaurant's vibe & decor is so beautiful, And the Geisha dancer made it more of an experience. We did order a lot of the dishes and they all were delicious. The corn appetizer was so flavorful, the black cod melted in my mouth, tempura shrimp had the perfect amount of sauce and spice, the spicy truffle edamame was finger licking good and the rice mushroom kept asking me to eat more lol. We also had ceviche which was so fresh and so yummy. I am craving it today. However, I wish I could give it 5 stars but the humidity & heat being seated outside was horrible. What a wonderful evening! We visited for the first time to celebrate my early birthday, and it was such a memorable experience. The easiest way to get to the Gale Hotel is by Uber, although valet parking is also available. From the moment we arrived, the staff at the Gale were incredibly welcoming and directed us to take the elevator to the 9th floor, where the restaurant is located. We were greeted by a friendly hostess who was so accommodating, even though we arrived a little behind our reservation time. The menu was extensive, with so many great options to choose from. The cocktails were absolutely gorgeous, with every detail thoughtfully presented. We loved the Hamachi Tataki, especially when the sauce was poured tableside--it was both delicious and a fun presentation. The Katsu Sando was incredible, with meat so tender it practically melted in your mouth. We finished our savory courses with the Wild Mushroom Rice Pot, which was mixed tableside and topped with freshly shaved truffle. If you're a truffle lover like me, this dish is an absolute must! Of course, we had to end the evening with dessert to make a birthday wish! We ordered the Miso Lava Cake, and it was absolutely delicious--the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal. Yamashiro has been an LA institution for some time and recently opened an outpost in Miami. The vibe is relatively simple and has been played by many establishments in the genre: trendy, super loud music, lots of people pretending to be rich, mediocre overpriced sushi and in Yamashiro's case a creepy Geisha like figure walking around. The concept is essentially taking everything that Japanese treasure about a sushi experience and making sure that a Japanese visitor stumbling in here would find the establishment as offensive as possible. For starters, the wait to get seated was close to an hour, with a reservation. Getting the waiter flagged down upon being seated, another 30-40 min. Finally being able to leave this place, priceless. If anyone is thinking of this as a date night spot, I would highly advise against it. The music is so loud, it's a borderline club vibe. You cannot have any decent conversation over dinner and constantly having to scream. It's truly unbearable and one of the stupidest ideas for a dinner establishment that exists on this earth. There are lounges and clubs, where people expect to find louder music, but this was outrageous for a restaurant. To make matters worse, after asking them to turn it down a little, they said they can't and that their Italian owner requires it to be like that... So, the food, is decent. Steak is mediocre, black cod was well prepared and so are the sushi rolls. I cannot give any bad feedback to the kitchen, they really did their job well. However, the ridiculously low level of service, not taking any degree of responsibility for it when I complained and the ridiculously unpleasant atmosphere are the core reasons that Yamashiro simply does not deserve anything above one star. I took my mom to Yamashiro for Mother's Day and honestly... the experience was giving "luxury sushi day with a side quest" First of all, the decor? BEAUTIFUL. The whole area leading up to the restaurant feels like a movie set. My mom is a full fashionista, so naturally we spent 37 business days taking pictures before even sitting down. Every corner is basically begging to be posted on Instagram. If you like a good photo moment, this place delivers. The ambience during the day was such a vibe too. Classy, upbeat, rooftop energy without trying too hard. It felt like a sophisticated little daytime party. Now let's address the tiny ants in the room. Unfortunately, because it's an indoor/outdoor rooftop-style establishment, there was a pretty noticeable ant situation at our original table. My mom actually got bitten on the leg by one little ant who clearly thought he had Mother's Day reservations too. BUT... this is where the staff absolutely shined. The daytime manager was AMAZING. So accommodating, sweet, attentive, and genuinely concerned about making sure my mom was okay. They moved us immediately, checked on us multiple times, gave us a few things on the house, and truly handled the situation with grace and professionalism. Honestly, customer service like that can completely change an experience, and they did exactly that. As for the food... we made it a full sushi roll day. The Wagyu roll? ABSOLUTELY incredible. Rich, flavorful, and worth fighting over. The yellowtail roll was actually the star of the day though. So fresh, flavorful, perfectly balanced... we kept talking about it after. The crab roll was okay. A little on the dry side compared to the others, but not terrible. The cucumber salad was delicious and the spicy crispy tuna roll actually had really good flavor but the rice tasted stale and old to the point where it was hard to chew. I actually just had AYCE sushi last week in SoCal and it was about $50 per person for all you can eat. The rooftop alone is reason enough to go ..sweeping skyline views, open air, and that perfect nightfall glow that instantly sets the mood. You'll find everything from Japanese fried chicken and katsu sando to lobster in miso beurre blanc, black garlic Chilean sea bass, Alaskan king crab, wagyu tomahawk, and a full sushi and handroll menu. If you're looking to stay low key and just go with some sushi or if you're looking to go a little more upscale, they absolutely deliver with premium wagyu, high-quality seafood, and chef-driven plates. First impressions are everything. I've been so excited to try this restaurant and it lived up to my expectations. From the moment I got off the elevator every staff member I encountered was super welcoming and polite. I was greeted at the check in counter with a smile, had my parking validated and was on my way through the double doors to be seated. Upon entry every staff member that I made eye contact with greeted me and I waited less than 30 seconds after being seated to be provided with my choice of still, sparkling or tap water. Soon after the waitress popped over to make recommendations while noting genuinely that everything on the menu was tasty!! Although I'm not easily impressed I would say that everything we ordered was as tasty and flavorful as our waitress expressed. The service was top tier and the ambiance was warm. There was a DJ playing just the right vibe of music and I love how the restaurant is open to air but still breezy in this Miami humidity. I can't wait to visit again and try new things on the menu! What a magical, amazing experience we had on Christmas eve! It started at the bar with the best bartenders serving us espresso martinis and a view of the skyline. We then sat in the open-air seating, the restaurant is stunning! We enjoyed delicious tuna crispy rice and the star of the show was the little sandos with gold flecks-- beautiful and delicious. We had some edamame which added some texture to the meal. We ordered various sushi rolls and a sushi platter. All of the fish tasted fresh and was a plump texture. The service from when we were greeted at the host stand was exemplary. We were constantly checked on, our waters were constantly refilled and table was cleared/cleaned multiple times throughout the night. Our server Anthony was amazing! Definitely ask for him. Straight up as soon as we walked into the space I felt like we were transported to a temple in Japan. Definitely didn't feel like we were in Miami anymore. It was so serene and calm with an amazing playlist. And the food! WOW. You most of the time expect a restaurant with a lot of glam to be subpar in food, but that wasn't the case at Yamashiro. Why did no one tell me that I'm Amazonico had one of the prettiest rooftops in all of Miami? What makes this place stand out of course which we all knew is how beautiful and immersive it is. There's no exaggeration everything that they made was pretty but at the same time it tasted delicious some of our standouts were definitely the Toro truffle Maki, which you can only find on the rooftop and it's honestly a reason alone to come to the rooftop along with the rollito Samosa, which was packed with chicken and of course they had to have their own Wagyu Sando rendition next time you and the girls are looking for the next date night or the next night out or the next sexy place to hang out in check out, the rooftop This is currently one of Miami's top restaurants that no one can stop talking about, but why is it that I never heard that it has such a gorgeous rooftop think the theme here is Peacock and while at first their menu seemed a little small after trying all of the menu, I realized that everything they made was delicious. Some of our standouts were the truffle Toro monkey, which you can only find at the rooftop and it's reason alone to visit they of course have their own Sando and Samosa this place is a kind of spot where you stay the night and get lost and kind of wonder where you are. The vibe is fantastic, it's a very MILA Miami Beach vibe with the water pathway in the middle, the loud house music, and the dim lights. You're kind of thrown into a party. I sat at the bar for dinner, which was really nice. It filled up pretty quickly. The cocktails we ordered were all really good, super well-made and different from the usual stuff which was nice. If you want a table though, you definitely need a reservation because the dining room was packed. The vibe overall was really nice and felt elevated without trying too hard. The dining room is honestly so pretty, and the view of downtown is so nice. It's a great rooftop spot whether you're going for dinner or just drinks. We ordered the ceviche, spicy tuna crispy rice, wagyu gyoza, Yamashiro roll, truffle yellowtail roll, and spicy crab roll. My favorites were the wagyu gyoza and the truffle yellowtail roll, but everything was genuinely good, it was actually hard to pick a top two. Overall, amazing vibe, great drinks, really good food. Brunch at Yamashiro was an incredible experience. The venue is absolutely stunning with a beautiful Japanese-inspired setting that makes the whole experience feel elevated and unique. I had the French toast, Katsu Sando, Coffee Igloo, and some sushi, and everything was delicious. The flavors, presentation, and atmosphere all came together perfectly. Food was good. They do require dress code so ladies come covered. The lightening is terrible outside not sure about indoors. I sat outside on a raised area and upon leaving I went tumbling down almost breaking my leg because I couldn't see the step it was so dark!!
