This is a new spot, everything inside is brand new and shiny, you can tell they put a lot of thought into everything down to the smallest detail to make this look and feel like traditional Japanese dining experience. We did Miami spice but also ordered some nigiri ala carte. Service was quick and our waiter was very polite and explained everything. The food was as delicious as you would expect, all pieces hit really well expect for maybe mackerel which could use some more flavor and the scallop which had some smudge on top of it that I personally didn't like.

Garage parking nearby. They validate two hours of parking. Beautifully decorated interior, true to Japanese design. Clean wood and simple sharp edges. It's a place you could dress up, but many people I saw were pretty casual. Came in for the Miami Spice. It was a nice omakase! What a treat. Fresh fish, quality seasonings. They also have a fresh Japanese wasabi option. The proprietor Juan Carlos was very friendly, checking in gracefully at different points in the night. Apparently this is an extension of concepts he has in Mexico too, which shows in the delivery of this new miami location. He's got the experience and talent to make it happen! I'll be back.

We had a girls night at Ikigai to try their Miami Spice menu and it was great! There's a parking garage located right next to the building that can be validated at the hostess stand so it's $8 but there's a garage across the roundabout that is free so I would recommend parking there. The interior is beautiful and the service is great. We all tried different things off of the Miami Spice menu but all of our favorites were the nigiri. The fish is very fresh!! We were still hungry after the set menu so we also ordered some handrolls which were all very good. The only critique I have is although the service was great by being quick and we were checked in on frequently, our main server seemed like they didn't know the menu well. I have a gluten intolerant friend so she asked about what was in certain dishes and things he would recommend but each time it seemed like he didn't know how to answer. Maybe he's new so we cut him some slack. Overall, it is a place I'd go back to for a special occasion and Miami Spice was a great way to try it!

8/10 on the sushi for being in Brickell key, but the service and atmosphere are on par for a great hidden Japanese vibe.

Wonderful experience with hands on ownership! I arrived for a private event hosted here and the service was on point, the food was incredibly fresh and delicious and the vibes were right. Loved visiting this spot, and would recommend anyone looking for delicious sushi in the brickell key area to make a stop here!

Everything tasted okay, very average dining experience. Personally would not go out of my way to come back here. Cute place though and nice service.

With their soft opening well on the way to great success, Brickell Key's newest hot spot is ready for your Japanese pallet. Let's start with the decor, oh my gosh, love the simply open modern Japanese style brown (bamboo brown), black and gray colors combination. The space is very clean, sushi bar area, lovely drinking bar area, beautiful tableware. Love the low yet, bright enough lighting. The staff is uniformed in all black, they look exceptionally sharp. Friendly and beautiful host greets you with a smile, get you seated with a menu which has a great variety of Nigiri, Temaki, Sashimi, Rolls, the regular classic Japanese sides, house special and classic Japanese desserts. The Fresh Wasabi for the Sashimi was delicious however I was not expecting it to have a charge seeing that it was done without us asking for it, nonetheless very tasty. The Otoro, Hamachi, Akami, Unagi and Hamachi Serrano Sashimi were all so freshly delicious I order second serving for all of these. They literally melted in the mouth. Our sushi bar experience was great Chef Nacho was the absolute best, he was friendly and his sashimis were chef's kiss. Ask him to make something special, thank me later. We had both the Mochi Ice (passion fruit flavor) and Matcha Cheesecake which were absolutely delicious. The texture and flavor were very pungent is a great tasting way. The cheesecake melted in the mouth. Perfect way to end a great delicious meal. Cheers to a great experience, welcome to the new restaurant on the block wishing them all the success.

Part of me wants this place to stay on the down low, but they deserve all the hype. This spot is a hidden gem on Brickell Key. The restaurant is really nice for a quiet date night. There's also a chef's counter, which is fun to watch. I highly recommend everything I had, but especially the smoked kampachi with apples and pecorino, the white fish tiradito, and the nigiri. Get here before the world finds out!

After a walk around Brickell Key we enjoyed the hospitality and amazing food at Ikigai Sushi Bar. The owners were very welcoming and the service was superb. Great place, highly recommended, many of us will be returning! https://www.instagram.com/ikigai_miami -- in Brickell Key.

I came here with some friends after an event for Miami Spice and wasn't sure what to expect. The atmosphere was modern, clean, and pleasantly not too noisy. The server was attentive and guided us through the menu, which was helpful. The food itself was decent for Miami Spice Lunch like $35, but the portions were on the smaller side, so it didn't feel very filling. Considering the price, I would say it was just okay. Overall, it was a fine experience, but I'm not certain I would return.

The sushi and service was really good! However, we came for the Miami Spice deal and were extremely disappointed to find out that it was advertised as including 10 pcs online but only 6 in person. The manager was great and honored the original deal, but they may be changing this soon. Aside from that, our server was very attentive, the drinks were great, and we really enjoyed the sushi.

Very warm, serene vibe with neutral tones. Definitely the kind of place you'd come to unwind and just enjoy good sushi without any chaos. Parking: Street parking is available, but it is paid, so keep that in mind before pulling up. The servers were very helpful and kind overall. My only complaint is that food came out a bit slow, especially considering it wasn't very busy at the time. Like serve me all my orders all at once pleaseeeeee so I can indulge lol What I Had: _________________ Sashimi Assortment - 10/10 Freaking delicious. Light, decadent, and incredibly fresh. Each piece tasted clean and high-quality, the kind of sashimi that melts the second it hits your mouth. They did their thing! Kanpachi Sashimi - 10/10 So good. Soft, delicate, and perfectly fresh. Every bite was balanced and flavorful without being heavy at all. Nigiri - White Fish Tasting - 11/10 Hands down my favorite part of my experience. I ordered multiple rounds (they come two per order), including branzino and snapper. The branzino was unreal. I wanted only branzino... that is how marvelous it was. Topped with this umami crunch that added so much texture and flavor. It was literally mouthwatering, like a burst of flavor in every bite. I honestly could've kept ordering this all night. Nigiri - Bluefin Tuna Tasting - 5/10 This one just wasn't for me. It wasn't fishy, but the texture was very slimy and didn't sit well in my mouth. It didn't swallow smoothly and just wasn't appetizing to me personally. Definitely a pass. Blue Crab Hand Roll - 6.5/10 I know this is a fan favorite, but it was just okay for me. Not bad at all, just didn't wow me compared to everything else I had. For $6, it's fine, but I wouldn't rush to reorder it. Customer Service: 8.5/10 Friendly and helpful, just slightly slow. All the plates and dishes were just so stunning. The other thing that really stood out was the service. They were so friendly and helpful. I truly appreciate when servers know their menu well and are able to make suggestions. I can't remember my server's name, but she was just top-notch. We ordered: - Miso soup, (served in a charming, Japanese chawan mushi cup) the flavor was really good and strong. (I hate it when it's weak) - Spicy dumplings. They tasted homemade. Yummy - Shrimp shu mai, good, tasted as it should - Tanaka roll, with extra crispies on top, (I was not a fan because I did not expect it to be deep-fried. if it had not been deep-fried, I would've liked it.) - Peking duck served in an impressive three tier tower that looks like a round Chinese Temple. - Pork Belly Bao bun, this was also a miss for me because I expected it to taste like barbecue, but it was just really salty like they used a lot of brown salty sauce. All in all, I really enjoyed this restaurant, even though I didn't like those two items. Bec But, because of the excellent service, the atmosphere and the beautiful way they served the food, I decided to leave them a five star review. Those dishes weren't bad they just weren't what I expected. We don't live in the area so if we were to stay in this hotel again, we would definitely dine here again. I'm not sure what they add to it, but it is delicious. If you have room for dessert, the fried milk is interesting because it has several different flavors and textures you can combine. Their spin on it shows their creative side (with Miami flavors) but is not super over the top and sauce does not drown out the freshness of the fish. Something that stood out to me was how they shaved frozen monkfish liver as a topping. I wanna go back just for that!! They also had some pieces where they smoked the fish. Besides the food, I thought it was very creative how they welcomed guests with a welcome drink at the hotel bar. This was so unique! We finished ours early, and had some of their other drinks - they were all very good! Once they're ready, a server came to get us from the hotel bar and led us through an alleyway to a separate building which was where the actual omakase was taking place. The atmosphere was dark and gave off speakeasy vibes, which I thought was different to other omakase places. Bar is spacious enough to still have private conversations. We did the beverage pairing and we really appreciated the sommelier's knowledge. Overall, we would want to come back again for another tasting experience!!
