This restaurant is amazing. From the Chefs to the server. We felt like home. The cuisine that was created were phenomenal. They did there best from the appetizers to the dessert. The ambiance was cozy nice for a date night a nice dinner withva few friends.

I am a recurring patron, enjoying Shokudo for the last 13 years. Service is always reliably good. The decor is light and upscale while still being casual; it invites a spectrum from date night, solo dining, family celebrations, and friendly groups. The food menu is a cross section of Asian fare from fresh sushi/sashimi and rolls, to Thai or Japanese noodle dishes, Chinese or Korean rice dishes, and variable carnivorous protein specialties prepared across the Asian continental delicacies. Appetizers of green salads, tasty soups, dumplings, and buns all start off well. The sake, wine, and liquor selections are vast. Happy hour specials offer opportunities to try new items and for price bargains. Located steps from the Design District, Shokudo is a survivor through the pandemic and is always at the top of my regional recommendations.

Everything was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING when we came in to dine at Shokudo. We came here because we found out it was family from Toni's Sushi in South Beach that opened the space and we were absolutely blown away. The pricing, the service and most importantly the food was all around amazing. Honestly, I've been to Japan and the takoyaki we had here was better than the takoyaki we had in Dotonbori, Osaka. Beyond that, the pricing is great and they feature different Asian cultures and fares on Wednesdays. How cool is that?! And they do a Temaki Tuesday special as well. Will definitely be coming back here soon. Also, Carlos x& Viviana were awesome servers & the sushi chefs Ramon & Diego were engaging and super nice too.

Carlos & Viviana were both amazing! Chef Ramon & Diego were the best behind the sushi counter!! Every dish we ordered was spot. We felt like we were back in Japan. The Happy Hour menu is one NOT TO MISS!! Everyone needs to know about this place, they're fantastic in everything that they're doing. The ambiance is incredible and they have the best music playlist playing from start to finish. I wish I could give this place 100 stars!

This is the third time I've been here. The last two times were a while back, but I remember enjoying them so I was excited to try this place again! Unfortunately I have mixed feelings on this third visit. First the positive....Location is great, inside of the restaurant is really pretty. Loved the look and ambiance. The server was very nice although the service was slow. The menu looked exciting; a good amount of items. Everyone in my party found something. Now for the not so great... the items all came out at random times. I know this is a new thing for restaurants to serve as items come out, but I don't love it. I ordered the ahi tuna poke for my app. Was very good. No complaints with this dish. Others for soups and were very happy. For my main course I had the Java steak. The steak was flavorful and cooked well. However the cilantro rice was not great, the fried onions were not seasoned and looked unappealing. There was a garnish of avocado and tomato but it didn't go well with the steak. The rest of my party had mixed reviews as well. Crab fried rice was not good, but sushi was great! I'm not sure I would come back unless I was just wanting sushi. A little disappointed.

This place is in a quiet part of Design District, but it's on a main street and impossible to miss. I stumbled upon this spot on a rainy day and it was honestly one of the best Thai/Japanese meals I've had in a really really long time. The service was great, everything was efficient and the food came out fairly quickly. I was craving Ramen as well as some fried rice with red curry and wowww. 10/10 on ALL the food. The ramen, out of the world!! The flavor was amazing, the broth, the ground chicken, delicious. And the red curry with the fried rice was also perfect. Fulfilled all my cravings. The sushi was a little plain, but I had picked a very simple tuna sushi, so that's on me. Other than that, It was soul comforting food. I can't wait to come back and try some different sushi and the other ramens.

Decent happy hour but not really much of a value. We had a large group and just ordered a bunch of items. Had a bite or two of a lot of different items and they were mostly pretty tasty. Just not that cheap per dish. The restaurant was pretty empty for most of the evening so that was kind of a red flag but we had a good time. Chocold Fashioned: Skip It wasn't bad but it's not really a combination that is worth having. It's a more funky and decadent old fashioned from the chocolate and coffee but nothing that actually improves the drink. Food: 7/10 Service: 7/10 Atmosphere: 6/10 Value: 5/10

Good sushi place! The servers are always nice, haven't had a bad experience. But the reason I like this place is because they have simple sushi. I have been on a hunt to find a classic sushi restaurant in Miami, one that isn't over the top with unnecessary truffle oil or deep fried with cream cheese. So I was very happy when I came here the first time and was able to order a sushi sashimi platter. The fish was tasty and again, I appreciate their simpler options. They also have a lot of cooked items that are also good.

Came here for Valentine's Day and the food was so so good, we end up ordering it regularly in our favorite takeout rotation. I absolutely love their orange chicken. One of the best I've had. The sauce is so light yet packed with tangy flavor. The chicken is perfectly crunchy with generous full chunks of white meat. The chicken to breading ratio is perfect. Have yet to find a place I like more for orange chicken. Also a must is the goyzas. The service was great and the atmosphere was lovely for our date. Saw many couples there.

I tried Shokudo happy hour this week and really enjoyed it. Hey offer a variety of rolls, bites, cocktails wine & beer. My friend and I tried the spicy marg and enjoyed how refreshing it was! We ordered spicy tuna roll, salmon roll, jalapeño popper roll, shishito peppers.. all were delicious, we did shed some tears with the jalapeño pepper roll, so beware! The service was a little slow, but regardless we had a great time and look forward to visiting again soon. The cocktails look interesting and would like to try out other ones.

This place doesn't get enough credit! The food is delicious and the staff is always so welcoming. I always wonder why it's not busier but I'm selfishly glad that I can always get a reservation. Definitely save room for dessert!

Pretty good! The poke salad was definitely the standout! The pad Thai was definitely disappointing (dry chicken) but everything else was tasty! Got a reservation on the day of (Saturday night). I would come back for the poke salad.

I think her favorite part was the omelette station, you can choose what ingredients you desire and they make the omelette fresh. I also loved the omelette station, it's such a personalized dining experience. You can sit for a total of 2 hours and enjoy a wonderful breakfast experience. There was so many things to chose from. I absolutely loved the French toast, it came with a caramelized banana on top. It was as if I was enjoying some banana bread, the French toast was so soft to the bite. The service was wonderful. Everyone was extremely attentive. Parking is valet which is a flat rate of $40 if you are only there for breakfast. It goes up in price after 4 hours I believe. You can also park in a garage that's down the street which is way cheaper, if you don't mind walking a bit. Overall, we absolutely loved this spot for breakfast. I want to come back and try their lunch experience.

Wow this place is fun and cool! We went to dinner at Jaya at The Setai during a business conference…read moreand had such a great time. Between the tropical decor, inside-outside dining feel, and the incredible contortionist entertainment it was just icing on the cake that the food was delicious, too. We loved the crab dumplings as an appetizer. And I especially enjoyed my filet mignon. Service was really good to start, but our entrees (we were 8 people) came out in two different batches about 10 minutes apart which was a little odd. But overall, we had too much fun to care about one small issue.
