After perusing around, I decided I wanted something fresh so I grabbed some handrolls from here. I got the salmon avocado and also the spicy scallop. Both were fresh and delicious! You order form a little tablet and they'll text you when it's ready. When I was looking through the menu, I saw they had Liger choco chip cookies and I HAD to get some. My food came out very fast and actually had someone bring it over to our table even before I got a text message. The hand rolls and the cookies really hit the spot! I've been to 1-800 Lucky many times but it's been a few years since I ordered anything from B-Side and I'm happy to report my roll was delicious. You order via a screen, so there isn't much interaction with staff and you're texted once your order is ready. I went with the Motomami roll - it's crispy white fish, avocado, cream cheese, sweet plantain with a sweet soy sauce. It was honestly so delicious and fresh! Great portion and good price. I came up 1-800-LUCKY while in Wynwood for lunch and took a chance. It has sweet plantains, avocado, cucumber, and sprouts, and topped with piquillo peppers and sweet soy sauce. It was pretty spicy which I liked, and stuffed with fish. Overall very tasty but dare I say I prefer the vegan roll? Regardless, it's all tasty. Special rolls can run you $15-$18 while others like spicy tuna, California, etc are $10. They also have a few other items on their menu like hand rolls. 1-800-LUCKY is currently open with outside seating. You are seated at a table with a number and then able to go inside and order at any of the stalls. You give your table number and they bring the food to you once ready. I ordered the octopus tiradito. It was tiny and it was overly salted at $30. It was pretty to look at but tasted like pure salt. It was such as waste of money and not worth it. This seems like a amateur sushi roll eater kind of place. The kind of person who thinks that spicy tuna is good sushi. Spicy tuna is the worst thing to eat at any sushi restaurant. The B-Side restaurant inside the food hall of 1-800-lucky was the first thing to attract me. The hall offers all kinds of food vendors from soup dumplings to asian street food. For us, the SUSHI was the perfect idea on a boiling hot day in Miami. The dining room was not cold enough inside it still felt really hot so it did not give me much relief coming from outside. We ordered by kiosk and one of the younger two cooks in the kitchen was really friendly while the other seemed too busy to answer questions. Overall, the motomami sushi roll itself was yummy. It comes with crispy white fish, cream cheese, and avocado inside then topped with sweet plantain and "sweet soy" which tasted like eel sauce. The flavors combined well together with the creaminess inside and the ripe sweetness of the plantain outside. It was a hefty roll that filled me up eating just half. The hall seems to have lost its popularity over the years as a social spot with the dj and bar vacant outside. I went there for lunch 2 days ago & I'm still thinking about how delicious everything was! I tried the crispy rice sampler which comes with 2 topped with spicy tuna, 2 with krab salad, and 2 with salmon tartar. I thought I wasn't going to like the krab one but it was actually delicious. Not sure what they use for krab, but it's definitely way more delicious than any other krab I've tried elsewhere. I also had the License to Ill Roll (recommended by the woman who took my order). It was amazing. It had crunchy spider crab, spicy tuna, avocado & other things I can't remember but despite how loaded it was, it wasn't huge/ uncomfortable to pop in my mouth. It was a perfect size! She also recommended the Liquid Death sparkling water & I'm glad she did. I love to drink natural mineral water & this one was delicious (not earthy) & had nice tight bubbles -very refreshing. Owned and Operated by Papa Chang this place stands out and by far the best option in the 1-800 Lucky Food Hall. There are classic options, hand rolls (my favorite thing to eat), and creative rolls which provide a combination of traditional japanese flavors with some latin flare (i.e. tostones & ceviche) Now for our order: Just Blaze: an Elevated Spicy Tuna roll with just the right amount of heat and thanks to the avo & crispy shallots - some great texture Soulection: not something i would typically order, and seeing as it's a democracy in this land, my boyfriend's choice. First time in the 1-800-lucky foodcourt space, so no clue what the system was. Sat down at the B-side counter and looked at the menu. When we decided what we wanted, we looked up expecting someone to take our order. There was only one person working at that moment and they never looked up or acknowledged our presence. After a few minutes, we noticed an ordering screen, so we placed our order. Ordering process was easy once we figured it out. There was an automatic 18% gratuity, which explains why there was zero effort to make us feel welcome. We eventually got our food. It was heavily sauced, but we were still given soy sauce packets. The sansho rolls had an appetizing caramelized char and delightfully crispy shrimp. The crispy rice sushi came with a dipping sauce, but it didn't really need it since it was covered in another sauce. The thirty-three & a third rolls had a really heavy yuzu flavor that I didn't care for. Eventually there were two people behind the counter. Both of them did not follow proper sanitary handling of the food. I watched them prepare the food, touch their face, touch the customer's kiosk screen when a customer asked for help, and carrying stock from a secondary space while wearing the same pair of gloves the entire time. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant because it is impersonal, unsanitary, and the sushi was expensive, but lacked refinement. read more

Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but I wasn't a fan of my experience at B-side, one of the seven Asian-inspired stalls in the sprawling 1-800-LUCKY food hall. The restaurant specializes in Nikkei-style cuisine, which combines Peruvian and Japanese flavors and techniques. First of all, the girl behind the counter was unfriendly and short with me, both when I ordered and when I later returned to ask for soy sauce. I get that there's no incentive for congenial service since it's counter service only, but even a neutral interaction would've sufficed. I ordered the Black Water sushi roll, which is filled with salmon, avocado, and cucumber, with salmon tartare and dollops of cilantro mayo on top. I found the roll to be poorly constructed and lacking in subtlety. There was more cucumber than fish inside the roll itself, and barely any salmon tartare on top. In fact, our friends who also ordered the Black Water roll agreed that we had received much less salmon than they did. Furthermore, there was way, way too much sauce on each bite, effectively drowning out any other flavors. For these seven pieces of sushi, we paid upwards of $18. This is obviously just my opinion, and don't let it dissuade you from trying B-side for yourself. But I'm sad that I didn't experience the same type of quality the other effusive reviews on this page would suggest. read more

I am a regular costumer of b side i get it on delivery almost every 2 weeks. Went to the actual place on january 27 less than a week ago and ordered over 160 on food. The food quality was really bad this time, the sauces werent as good as always some of them were way spicier or saltier than usually. The quality of the rice and construction or the rolls wasnt as good either and i ordered 5 and a crispy rice. And the octopus tiradito didnt had almost any of the olive sauce it usually comes with. The cucumber salad was extremely bland also. I am extremly dissapointent because it usually is one of my faves and brought people to make them try it and none of them liked it.
