I feel that i am harsh on the miami food scene, specifically because my tastes skew towards SE Asian food, farm to table, craft coffee/beer/wine/spirits in which miami does not generally do well in comparison to other cosmopolitan cities (or even some mid size cities). This place, however, is a major exception! 1-800-Lucky is an Asian food hall in the heart of the Wynwood neighborhood in Miami (north of downtown and Brickell, west of midtown, south of design district). This food hall packs a punch and would be right at home in LA, SF, NYC, CHI, SEA, etc. The restaurant options include korean, authentic Chinese, sushi, dim sum, Ramen, and Thai street food. The Korean restaurant and thai food, in particular, are stellar. Portions a bit small for price (most entrees 18-23 dollars with side items less. I am a big eater and was able to eat entire thai meal, korean meal my last visit with little more room. I like smaller sizes here to give me excuse to order variety of places without waste (other than money arguably). Most people likely to be good with one entree and side from most establishments. Since it's a food haul with different vendors the service is hit or miss. There's a bunch of varying Asian foods you can try here. My friends got sushi and pho, but I got Filipino food. We tried a bit of everything and the portion sizes were pretty decent! The service was also good because they cleaned up after us as soon as we were done. No servers but just workers going around to clean up. Which was cool. I love this place because it says open late and the one restaurant that serves the variety of wings and fried rice is the bomb.com. We didn't drink this time but rather came only for the food! I think we got there at 1 AM and this restaurant still had their full menu available which was great. We ordered the general tsao wings, and pork fried rice. I ordered the California roll and the salmon and avocado roll, both were well prepared and flavorful, and the salmon was incredibly fresh! I've been to 1800 lucky at least 4 times now and have always not enjoyed it but 2-3 days ago was by far the worst. We each got dumplings rice and bao buns and ended the night extremely sick for hours on end. We shared two different sushi rolls which were 10/10, crab rangoons (how can you mess up a crab Rangoon), and dumplings (delicious). You have a bunch of different kiosks to choose from. Price range: I would say it might have been a little overly priced for the food but I had no complaints because we did enjoy each item we got. We sat at the outdoor bar and were directly ignored by the bartenders who would just look at us and keep hanging out behind the bar until we went to the connected indoor bar. Once we were served, the drinks were great and they have a wide selection. I went with something sparkling and refreshing with yuzu. We ordered the Chicken Parmesan Dumplings from Yip and they served it to us with cold marinara and the inside was so dry it was inedible. For lack of a better word, this place is hip and happening. It can get packed, but you'll usually find a place to sit. I like their text you when the food is ready system. I also appreciate all the options. If you can't decide what to eat with your friends, this spot has something for everyone (if you're craving Asian food). On a January visit my friend and I shared the salmon poke bowl and dim sum sampler. We both loved the poke bowl. All the ingredients were fresh and tasty. However, we found ourselves wanting more from the dim sum sampler. There was enough food for both of us, but the items were just fine to us. We still had a great time here. I've gone to this Asian food hall (Arigato Baby) a good amount of times in the past 2024-2025 but I notice they lost their touch. The staff is changed every few months the meat portion has gone down significantly and then they char your meat where it's even too hard to enjoy. I recently had to ask the server what's going on. We stopped in for dinner tonight before going out, but this place always has a great DJ if you are looking for a bar later in the evening. Never have I ever felt so catfished by a place on Yelp before. I thought this place was a restaurant but it really is just one big food hall. My boyfriend and I came here late at night because we were in the Wynwood area and craving Asian food. This was the highest rated place so we decided to check it out. I was super bummed because all I wanted was a sit down restaurant but it was crazy loud in here and so busy that you literally had to fight people for a table. Which happened to be a ramen place. I got their popular tantan men? It tasted straight up like peanut butter and super thick. Like this wasn't even ramen. Not to mention it was $20. Outside is brighter and there are tall trees and plants making this a really outdoorsy seating area. We ordered from about three different restaurants and the food was overall good. Food was ready in short order. You order what you want from each place and they give you a buzzer which lets you know when to go back and pick up your food or drink. There is a sushi spot in the middle of the restaurant space, a Phillip barbecue spot, a dumpling spot with boba tea, a sake bar, and a couple other options. There are two bars . My review is solely based on the Veggie Ramen. We went because we were in the area and wanted soup. Found this place on Yelp and it really looked good. I am pescatarian and often eat vegan. 3 of us had the veggie ramen and it looked beautiful. I mean the presentation was an A+ but the taste... I'm so confused on the taste. The broth was bitter and nutty tasting with very little seasoning. It had a strong tahini flavor which can be bitter. I'm so used to a ramen broth being flavorful and salty but this lacked that salty flavor. We all disliked it. It was not good at all. It had lots of fresh vegetables in it and had such potential but it was lacking SEVERELY. I was hungry so I did try to eat mine. My husband couldn't eat his and my daughter struggled to force herself to swallow it. It was BAD. We also ordered veggie spring rolls. Very fresh and hot but not that great either. The veggies inside were so mushy and the flavor wasn't good. We also ordered Crab Rangoon. I'm used to crab Rangoon being sweet inside but these were not sweet AT ALL. They were pretty bad as well. My daughter isn't that picky with food and so the fact that she didn't like anything speaks volumes. All in all, I rate our complete meal a solid 1 star for flavor. Presentation was excellent though. The pineapple fried rice was okay and tasted like any regular fried rice. There was nothing exciting about it and had a very strong soy sauce flavor. I ordered the xlb's from Yip and it was extremely disgusting, not fresh, and had a strong pork taste. First off, it took almost 40 minutes for my food to come out.. mind you I just came at opening time. That was the first red flag and as soon as I took a bite into the xiao long bao, I had to spit it out. The pork taste was very strong because the meat quality they use is not good. It was frozen and not fresh... These are probably the worst xiao long baos I've tasted in my life. Just thinking about it makes me uneasy in my stomach...
