Wasn't planning on eating here, but it was a rainy day on a holiday weekend so all the restaurants in brickell city center were super packed with 1 hour+ wait times and this was the only place where we got sat immediately. Upon arrival, the host immediately greeted us and sat us at the only available table which was right behind the host stand outside on the patio, which was fine. With so many restaurants with long waits we were just happy to be sat, no matter if the table wasn't the ideal spot. After we were sat, it took forever for our server to come greet us. When she finally did, she basically asked us what kind of water we want and said she would be back but I made her take our drink orders as well as we had already been waiting for a decent amount of time. After we got our drinks, she took our food order. When the food came out, it was a little messed up. 2/3 of the people at our table ordered nigiri but they brought it all out on one plate, which wasn't an issue but we didn't know what was what. When we tried asking the man who brought the food out to us what was what, he must have misunderstood and he just took the food back. He then returned and had plated all the nigiri on their own separate plate. We didn't ask for this, we only were asking what was what. As for the food, I got the crispy hamachi and the tuna nigiri and salmon nigiri. The tuna nigiri had a super weird ketchup-like sauce on it which was kind of nasty, however, the salmon nigiri was super delicious and buttery. The crispy hamachi was also super delicious. I also enjoyed my drink which was the La chula. I don't think my 9 pieces of sushi and 1 drink was worth $80 but that's Miami for you. My friend also got the bang bang shrimp tempura pieces and we didn't realize it came with blue cheese crumbles on it so that was pretty nasty and inedible. All in all, this place was not the vibe. It was a busy Thursday night when my guest and I arrived. We sat in the bar and we ordered a few appetizers such as the spicy edamame that some spice to it (we are used to spicy so it wasn't too hot at all), shishito peppers, miso soup, and kimchi fried rice. The latter of the three dishes was served without the requested egg but the food runner was quick to bring it back with it right away. The restaurant has adequate seating and it has a comfortable setting with excellent air conditioning. The staff appear to work cohesively well with one another and that made the experience smooth and enjoyable. The dishes were overall tasty and it was a good place to dine after a busy day. On a dreary Sunday, we were walking Brickell City Centre looking for a place and decided on Pubbelly as they had no wait. It took a while for a server to come over, and we threw in some drinks and an order of the Pork Belly Gyoza. The drinks took a while to come out, but were tasty. The Gyoza was fine but not my favorite. It took a while for the server to come back over to take our actual food order. I did the Crispy Yellowtail Nigiri and Buffalo Rockshrimp Tempura. With so many sushi spots in Brickell I am usually not a fan of fusion style sushi with tons of sauce and cream cheese in the rolls but I decided to go into pub belly for happy hour to see what they offer. When was liking in you definitely get those asian vibes with the decor and the low light atmosphere perfect for a date. Above all I can say I was not disappointed with anything I ordered even though I didn't have their sushi. The octopus was cooked to perfection which is not something said lightly. It was tender and juicy and wasn't over cooked and chewy. The short rib dumplings legit blew my mind. Topped with Parmesan cheese to give it a blast of umami that I wouldn't have thought paired together but man was I surprised. The pork belly gyozas were also a big hit in my eyes. I like the ambience here... the outdoor seating is cute, but it's generally hot and muggy (they do have some fans but I'm not a fan (pun intended) of my food and I being blown on during meals. The ambiance inside is nice and this place is generally easy to get in and seated quickly, it's the wait and service once you're seated that tends to be a little slow. The drinks here are good, and they do have a decent happy hour, offering a little discount until 7pm on a selection of food and drinks which is nice.. though make sure to check your bill after as the happy hour pricing wasn't reflected so we had to request it be updated. The food here is fine but nothing special really, so I generally just come here when someone else asks to try it when we're already at the mall. I do think the kids meals here are really good though-- the portion is a good size and the options are great. My kids are picky eaters and both ate most of their food, which were healthier options than most places, so that's a win! read more

My friend and I sat at the bar on a Tuesday early evening and were met with some great deals. All the handrolls were $12 and they also had happy hour deals. It was great! My friend couldn't drink any alcohol and asked for a mocktail, when I tell you I wanted to give back my beer and order the same refreshing cucumber concoction is an understatement. Came for dinner with friends to celebrate our friends engagement on a Friday night. We did not have reservations but were accommodated outside as it did not seem so busy that night. We started with a lychee martini which was stiff and perfect. We ordered a few rolls and dumplings to start such as the crispy salmon roll and the short rib & truffle dumplings. The dumplings were amazing. As for service, not sure if it was an off night but the second round of drinks never came, our crispy salmon roll never came as well. For the roll, I had to ask the waiter and even so it took an additional 10 minutes. We had an avocado allergy in the table as asked if one of the rolls can be modified and were told no as they're pre-made which seemed odd the roll took 40 mins to arrive to the table. No biggie though as many of their other rolls do not contain avocado which is nice. As we sat outdoors, it was nice to people watch and feel the cool Miami breeze that night. This sushi spot is one of my favorites, especially on Mondays when all rolls are discounted to $14. I usually order the butter crab roll--it melts in your mouth--along with the Kobe tartare, which is amazing dipped in the egg yolk for an extra boost of protein. For appetizers, I go with edamame, and for dessert, the bread pudding is a standout--unique with just a touch of sesame on the side. The only thing I wish they offered is parking validation. It would make it easier to stay longer and enjoy browsing around City Center without the pressure of high parking costs. Service is average , not great. Takes a little long to get order started , and when it does, I like to have my edamame first right away while I'm waiting for the rolls, yet that doesn't happen, however once everything begins, they bring all out fast usually at once more so ...versus layering the order. It's located in what appeared to be downtown Miami, in an outdoor shopping mall/district. Parking lot was close by around the corner. We walked in on a weeknight, on one of our last days in town. We were seated immediately, party of 5 with 3 kids. It's a lively atmosphere. Our server, Cindy, was awesome. She provided very patient, quick, attentive service. We might have ordered wrong. The Japanese Fried Chicken was the highlight of what we had. Good portion, fried just right so not dry or over fried, but I wish it had either a spicy or different kind of sauce since the miso mustard sauce didn't really hit the spot. My roll came in second place for overall good taste, but it did take forever to come out and given all the deliveries I saw go out while I was waiting, I think maybe delivery might have been faster. The big eye tuna roll isn't actually a roll - it's tuna on top of crispy rice. Crispy rice is always hit or miss and this time it was too chewy so a miss for us, but the amount of tuna u get might make up for it. I wouldn't recommend the Japanese eggplant - it was plain, not seasoned well and not worth the money. I did enjoy my cocktail but it was pretty small. If I go back, I'll be ordering completely different items to see if we have better luck. This place seemed like a high-end chain restaurant. I am not a Miami local so take my advice on restaurants with a grain of salt. I was able to order it for pickup on Uber Eats. I am not a sushi expert by any means, so I had to base it on the highly rated reviews. The Butter Krab Roll was the highly rated special in Uber Eats. It came on Goma soy paper, kanikama, ponzu, and clarified butter. It was very delicious. You could taste the imitation crab in the roll and enjoy the flavor by dipping it in the sauce. The butter adds a nice bonus to the overall texture. I wish I had two or three more of these so I could be filled up with a large meal. Don't make my mistake and only order one roll. read more

We finally had the opportunity to try Pubbelly Sushi at Brickell City Centre for happy hour recently on a Friday. We got to the bar as Happy Hour started and began reading the menu. The ambiance was lively and what one would expect for a restaurant at Brickell City Centre. Trendy music was playing as other patrons began to arrive for dinner and happy hour. Our server, Sean G, welcomed us and asked us if it was our first time at Pubbelly. We said yes, and he immediately explained everything on the menu and gave us some recommendations for both food and cocktails. He was very helpful and warm throughout the duration of our stay. He even allowed us to sample two different kinds of sake to help us decide on our order! We started off the evening with the Spicy Edamame, which was free with the Yelp check-in offer, along with a Teasy Bear cocktail and a glass of Heaven 12 Junmai sake ($9 each). The edamame had a generous portion of cayenne pepper on it, so if you are not into spicy, this isn't the appetizer for you! We are just suckers for both edamame spicy so getting it was a no brainer for the both of us. As for our drinks, my fiancée's Teasy Bear was very sweet (made with Junmai sake, green tea syrup, honey and fresh ginger). My glass of sake was generously filled to the brim, and was crisp and refreshing! As for food, we ordered the following: - Salmon Tartare Taquito ($14): very fresh, but the "weak link of what we ordered, in my opinion. The dish itself was good, but this was just a salmon taco. I would order something else next time before re-ordering this item. - Butter Krab Roll ($14): Oh. my. Lord! This is THE roll that put Pubbelly on the map. Who knew that a roll stuffed with hefty serving of imitation crab with some warm butter could be so good?!?!? We could've ordered 5 of these. This came with 4 pieces. - Crispy Salmon Roll ($14): another very good roll. This roll came with 8 pieces made with cream cheese, avocado, eel sauce, spicy mayo, crispy panko. Yum! Overall, a we had very chill, delicious and filling happy hour at Pubbelly Brickell City Centre!
