The only downside was the service, but that was clearly due to the restaurant being understaffed--not the fault of the staff, who were doing their best under the circumstances. I usually weigh service heavily when rating a restaurant, and if the food and overall experience hadn't been as incredible as they were, this would have been a three-star visit. We went to Baby Jane for a quick dinner since we live in the building right above it. The food is super good, drinks are awesome, and the vibe inside is very laid back. The service was ok, a little slow. We ordered the karage chicken and it was reaaalllyy good. We also ordered the ramen which felt not super traditional in its flavor, but we enjoyed a lot. The only thing I don't like about Baby Jane is that they have a DJ who BLASTS (and I do mean BLASTS) music once they start their set. My friend and I had a little trouble finding this spot. I wanted to come here because of the name and a local confirmed it's a great bar. We arrived a few minutes before Happy Hour so we grabbed a cocktail and some bites off that menu. Edamame had great umami flavors. Karaage was tasty but a bit over dressed. Steak Yakitori was well seasoned but too cooked for my liking. Pork Belly Bao was yummy but too fatty. Tuna Poke Taco was yummy, I would have preferred the tuna chopped smaller. The Ceviche had lots of flavors going on, spicy and creamy but it wasn't cold so didn't we eat more than a tiny bite. Watermelon Collins was aesthetically pleasing and refreshing. My friend ordered a coffee, but there was no cream or milk but simple syrup accompanied it. We dined outside at the far booth. Being a Brickell resident I have to say this is one of my top spots. The music matches their amazing cocktails. The atmosphere is trendy and their servers always make you feel at home. Super Bowl 9pm - after an uneventful time at another place near by , we decided to check out babyjane as it had more of a vibe . They had tvs showing the game and the ambiance couldn't have been more perfect . Though its bar , it had a cool feel to it like employees only in nyc . Had such a great time at Baby Jane. Food was incredible and so was the ambiance. My girlfriends and I came down to Miami for a concert and stopped into Baby Jane for dinner. The Happy Hour menu is so good and the create your own margarita options is fantastic! We started with edamame, dumplings, and tuna poke tacos. Edamame is seasoned and has so much flavor, make sure you order a try! We also ordered another round of the dumplings too because those were to die for. They come in this soup bowl of broth that is delicious! The tuna poke tacos were good but I did feel they had a bit too much sauce in them. If they toned it back a bit they would be perfect! We also ordered shrimp fried rice and it was DELICIOUS. Has a little kick to it too which made it even better. We did a chicken yakitori skewer and just an fyi, it is fried but so good. There is a teriyaki glaze drizzled on it to bring out the flavor. We almost ordered the steak yakitori and I regret so much not trying it. Also ordered the Thai donuts which I thought were just okay. Think they were a little overcooked and not as doughy as they normally come. My friends loved their margaritas and the bill came to 150.00 for 3 people but we ordered so much it was well worth it. We really liked Baby Jane!!!! Came here after a very expensive happy hour at the famous SexyFish (still hungry and a whole lot poor'er). Came around 7.30 and was generally quiet inside, but kept filling in. To summarize we loved Baby Jane and would be on our 'must go to's when back in Miami. This is some of the best Asian food I've had. The brussel sprout appetizer was out of this world. The sauce on the dish made it 20/10. The pork chashu bowl is what I ordered, and the pork was super tender. The other add-ons in the dish along with the rice was all cooked to perfection, and nothing felt overpowering. The service was great and all of the staff seemed to work together well. My wife built her own margarita, which was a fun option, and I opted for the Watermelon Collins. It wasn't bad, but I felt like the drink wasn't anything special, and I had high expectations from a "cocktail house." The food was really good. The brussel sprouts with fig had a great and unique flavor, and the yogurt added a nice contrast. The shiro kombu ramen was a great vegetarian ramen option. The bartender kindly brought us small bowls and an extra spoon so that we could easily split it between ourselves. Overall this place had really fun decor, lots of things to look at, and a cool ambiance. My only complaint on that front would be that the music, while nicely suited to the vibe, was a little too loud where we were sitting. Depending on the song, we sometimes had to yell to talk to each other. This might be easily resolved by sitting outside, where there are some comfy-looking tables. From the warm welcome from the DJ spinning great tunes (I just dated myself) to the incredible and kind greetings from the team. Danny pointed us to where the food and the great vibes took us to. This place was over all good but I do have some suggestions. The Brussels sprouts app was delicious and so were most of the appetizers we tried, but the corn was undercooked. We ordered 4 corns and 2 of them were perfect while the last 2 were almost too hard to even eat. The fried rice was okay but could use more soy sauce and flavor. I didn't love my lychee martini either, too strong and no lychees inside. Overall, the good dishes balanced out the not so good dishes. I really enjoyed the Brussels sprouts. The ambiance is always great in this place - dark lights but you can still see your food with great music. A great place for a late date or night out before or after partying. My two apps were far better than my Ramen. Both apps were savory, adequately spiced and good. The ramen was lukewarm. I unenthusiastically ate a portion. The broth was bland and they did not have chili oil or siracha. :( Though it was just ok, it didn't warrant a "send back". Love this place. It's such a local hidden gem and the vibes are immaculate. It's a very intimate speakeasy vibe which isn't too easy to find around Miami. Music is also great. I love their kaarage and tonkatsu ramen. And although there was a recent issue with one of my orders, they were so quick to accommodate and help get it right! That is a 10/10 in my book.
