Hutong is, hands down, a five-star experience--from the food to the décor to the service. The brand began in Hong Kong over two decades ago, in a high-rise on Peking Road in TST (Tsim Sha Tsui). Beijing duck was wonderful. Here in Miami, it feels more grounded--literally and atmospherically. "Hutong," meaning the narrow, winding alleys formed by traditional siheyuan courtyards, is synonymous with old Beijing. I grew up in one, less than a mile west of Zhongnanhai--the political heart of China--and remarkably, it still exists. That personal association makes the name choice feel both evocative and slightly ironic, given the restaurant's polished, global aesthetic. The Food We ordered all nine dim sum offerings--every single one was excellent. Fresh ingredients, delicate execution, and real finesse. Nothing heavy-handed; everything precise and balanced. We ended up ordering in two rounds--unintentionally--but it worked in our favor. Each round arrived together, fresh and properly hot. They also offer takeout, which is good to know. Context We came here after being rained out at the Miami Open. Hutong turned into a kind of refuge--drying us out and restoring both mood and appetite. Details That Stand Out - The twin sauces: the spicy one is excellent--layered and satisfying. - The soy sauce is intensely salty, almost too much so. - Table setting: Spiegelau stemware, earthy-toned plates, and striking chopsticks--thoughtful and cohesive. - The bartender didn't change the beer glass between pours--something I didn't mind, though others might. Service & Atmosphere The chef is a small, understated Cantonese gentleman, with only the faintest trace of an accent--quietly confident. The front-of-house staff is mostly non-Asian, with several women speaking in noticeable Hispanic accents. Service is smooth overall, though the cultural contrast is interesting in a restaurant so rooted in a specific regional identity. A few practical notes: The bar counter has no hooks (a small but inconvenient omission). The new-age music runs a bit loud, though they do lower it if asked. Both restroom toilet tanks were leaking, and the faucets were slow--unexpected at this level. Logistics Street parking available Valet: $15 (cash only) Bottom Line A refined, globally polished interpretation of a very local cultural idea. Excellent dim sum, thoughtful design, and strong execution--paired with a few operational inconsistencies.

A group of friends and I came in a couple of Sundays ago for brunch and had a great time at Hutong. There was about 15 of us so it was a lot of people to serve but they got the job done. There was plenty of different apps and course and everything was tasty, but the very best part without a doubt was the duck! I truly enjoyed it and would be back just for that. The chef comes and out and does the whole presentation and then carves it as well into delicious pieces. It is served with Madarin pancakes, hoisin sauce, shredded cucumbers, and scallions. I could truly eat that every day. We had a lovely time and if you're Chinese food fan, this is definitely a spot to checkout.

Let me start off by saying that the food was great. I have no complaints about that whatsoever. The cocktails were also delicious, the espresso martini was smooth and the Sichuan Dragon cocktail was sweet and tart. I loved that the Sichuan Dragon cocktail was a bubble on top, it made the cocktail feel like an entire experience. The reason for the 3 stars was for the service provided in the beginning of our dining experience. We started off with a server that came to take our order initially and stated that if 1 person in the group ordered the Emperor dinner menu that everyone else also had to order the same set menu. After he told us this we had to take a moment to review the menu once again. Although, he didn't come back and a good 30 minutes passed by. Eventually we got a different server unexpectedly named Derek and he was an absolute angel sent from heaven. He really turned the experience around. Derek let us know that we can order the Emperor menu for just 1 person and everyone else can chose anything else that they would like if they were not going to participate in the set menu. Derek was also very attentive and came to check in on us every so often. We were glad he took over and provided exceptional service. At the end of our dinner he brought out a plate that said happy birthday with ice cream. This was very thoughtful. Overall, we did enjoy our dinner and cocktails. 1 other mishap that kept occurring was that the ac vents from the ceiling were dripping water onto us throughout the entire time we were having dinner.

I can't figure out why there are so many negative reviews about Hutong. Went for there Brickell nights deal on Thursday and it was amazing! I'm only worried it won't last long because it was not busy at all. For about $90 per person you get unlimited alcohol for 90 minutes and tons of great food. And 2 scantily clad dancers! The dumplings come first and they are a great mix of seafood, pork and vegetables. And you can get as many as you want. We were pretty full at this point, but then they bring the Peking duck, which was 1st rate. I ate every bite of it even though I was full. Then comes the main course. We had the pork and the prawns, both extremely tasty. Comes with fried rice and green beans, both very good. Unfortunately, we were pretty full so ended taking most of it home. The dessert was the only dissappointing aspect of the meal, as the ice cream and bao didn't have much flavor. Which was fine because we couldn't eat another bite. Service was beyond amazing and friendly. One negative: someone needs to check the locks on the stalls of the ladies bathroom. My wife was trapped for a while in one of them! Otherwise, a perfect night. We will definitely return!

Stopped in with my girls for a big group brunch, and we had a lovely time. There is ample space for both small and large groups, call and get your res! Brunch is prix fix, and as the one with some food restrictions, the kitchen was amazing and kind enough to make sure I had subs. The food was incredible. The table side fired duck was an experience! The servers were attentive and knowledgeable.

I came here for a girls brunch that a friend of mine put together. It was a large party, so therefore she had to leave a deposit before we were able to make the reservation. We had brunch on a Sunday at 12:30. We were told that it would last for two hours. There is a set menu of items that are given during the brunch. There is also an option for a drink package, which I opted for. There were five signature cocktails on that menu and we were also allowed wine, Prosecco as well as sodas. The pluses: the servers were attentive for the most part, keeping the food coming. I would've liked to hear a little bit more explanation on the dishes before having them presented just because I don't eat pork and a couple of the items did have pork. We also had a friend at the table who has shellfish allergies, so it could have been helpful for her to also be privy of certain information in terms of preparation of dishes, before being presented the plates. You are able to order the dumplings as many times as you'd like during the brunch. All the dishes that I tried were divine. The Peking Duck was spectacular and it came with a mini show which you cannot beat. The restaurant itself is also beautiful and from what I could tell, there were plenty of tables available on the day that we went. They did warn us when our two hours were up and allowed us to order one final drink beforehand, which was kind of the servers. The minuses: again, although the servers were attentive, I felt like they could've done a better job of asking what we needed. We had to continuously ask for water to be refilled, as well as for the drinks to be refilled. Given that it was a bottomless brunch, that did rub me the wrong way, especially, because I overheard a waiter tell another one not to top people off unless specifically asked to. Something else to note, was that at no point did they tell the table about the prices for the sparkling water. Some of the girls opted for sparkling water, and were charged nine dollars for that which added up towards the end. As well as extra charges for pancakes to eat the duck, despite that's what the dish came with so that could've at least been clarified prior to serving the table that. But overall it was a pleasant dining experience and really what shines at Hutong the most was the quality of the food.

Gorgeous space! Delicious food. Very upscale. We got some dim sum apps, the truffle pork bao was so yummy. Their sichuan shrimp was also delicious. Their drinks are beautifully presented- sichuan dragon is a lychee martini with vanilla and Sichuan pepper. The staff here are the true stars. Thank you Rafael!! He really made our experience so special. Jacob is helpful and kind. Will definitely come back. Thank you!!

I love coming here for happy hour. It's an elegant restaurant with great service. Thursday night from 6-11 they have an $88 drink and dim sum package.

I wanted to try the peking duck at Hutong after hearing great things. Even though it was a Friday night, we were able to get a table pretty quickly thanks to our hostess Luz. Our waiter Derek was very friendly and went through the menu with us for all the best dishes. Since we weren't too hungry we just ordered the half peking duck. The duck was served two different ways and I really enjoyed both ways. We were first served the duck with pancakes and duck sauce. I loved the skin pieces and thought the cucumber and the pancake was very refreshing. The second way was stir fried with green beans. The sauce for the stir fry was really tasty and the green beans were cooked to perfection. Overall, it was really great and I would definitely come back.

Wow, szechaun like momma in Northern China would make. Or at least like Hwa Yuan Szechuan in New York City Chinatown. See my stellar review of that must go to joint. Real numbing of the lips a little - if you're a chilihead you'll dig it. Let me tell you, their dim sum was so creative and unlike other's i've had. Prawn and black truffle, Pickled chili cod, Sichuan peppercorn shrimp - all steamed dumplings. WOW. Creative, artistic, and out of this world good. Branzino in chili broth with wild mushrooms and Chinese celery. Close your eyes and imagine that......or check my picture of it. Not so hot like tobasco, but savory, warming like a bankie and hot chocolate. Even non chiliheads will love the broth....try it, whatta ya got to lose? The picture that i took of the Chili chicken tells the tale. Its not as hot as you would think. It is utterly delectable, scrumdiilyiscious. If you do check my review of Hwa Yuan Szechuan in New York City Chinatown, you will notice I ordered the exact same thing. (Creature of habit? - I know what I like.) This one mighta been better... I dunno.... Their drink-game was average-ish. Not too many beers to select, tons of $$$wine, but creative cocktails$$$ Service was not stellar, but the place is small enough you can signal for help...or a drink. Even though i dip them for that, this place is awesome. Get here, this place is on my regular list now.

Hutong - Miami We had my birthday lunch at Hutong Miami, and overall it was a memorable experience handled with care and intention. The space is striking from the moment you walk in. High ceilings, dramatic lighting, and deep, rich design elements give it that old-world Chinese feel blended with modern luxury. Every corner feels thoughtfully done -- from the main dining room to the bar area and even the restrooms. It feels grand but not cold. Food-wise, most dishes were very good and well presented. Expectations are naturally high at this level, and for the most part, Hutong delivered. The only dish that didn't quite live up to the reputation was the Peking duck -- it was heavier and fattier than expected. That said, the rest of the meal held its own. Service is where they really stood out. The staff was attentive, professional, and handled a few small hiccups smoothly without any attitude or defensiveness. Management checked in, listened, and made sure everything felt right. They surprised us with complimentary birthday desserts, which were excellent and beautifully presented. It wasn't over-the-top, just thoughtful and well done -- the kind of gesture that feels genuine rather than scripted. Hutong is clearly positioned as a high-end Chinese dining experience, and the pricing reflects that. With that comes higher expectations, and while not every dish was perfect, the atmosphere, service, and overall execution made the experience feel special and well considered. A refined setting, polished service, and a respectful nod to tradition with modern flair. A solid five-star experience.

Tasty modern Asian food but with prices that leave a lot to be desired. Came here for restaurant week with a few friends- the inside was beautiful but interestingly the AC wasn't working so just sitting down throughout the night was enough to make us sweaty, even despite the few standing fans they had set up. The Miami spice meal started off with small portions of some of their dumplings: we got two orders of the dan dan soup dumplings and one order of the prawn black truffle dumpling, both of which I think were the best bites of the night- juicy, savory, meaty, and while the soup dumplings weren't really that soupy they was still delicious. A tasting of duck is included with every Miami Spice meal, and was cooked beautifully- juicy with crisp skin, a few thin wraps each for us to make duck rolls, with the usual fixins like hoisin sauce and scallions. For mains we shared the chili prawns, mapo tofu, and kung po chicken. The prawns were the best of the three, lightly coated and crisp but juicy inside with a nice spicy kick although on the saltier side; the mapo tofu unfortunately was pretty bland and the kung po chicken while tasty was pretty sweet and one-note, similar to something you could get at a fast casual or takeout place. The sides were actually better than the mains, with a deep savory flavor on the string beans from the dried shrimp and pork bits and a smoky stir fried flavor on the flat noodles. The rice was alright but sort of bland. Fortunately the Hong Kong milk tea tiramisu was a hit, and the tea with a hint of bitterness really complimented the light creamy tiramisu. Overall, we had an enjoyable meal and for restaurant week compared to the normal prices it was a solid deal. However, the bigger dishes were a bit hit or miss, and I don't think I would come back to try the menu at normal price.

This restaurant is in the heart of Brickell. Definitely a place to go and have a great time, a good dine and good food. It has a lot of options in the menu with different fusions. The wine menu has a vast amout of options, separated into countries and specifying the type of grape. The service was great; the server had a lost of knowledge of the menu and great recomendations. The atmosphere is nice; dimmed lights and nice decor. Outside dining is an option since it looks nice and spacious; maybe not in summer time. The music was a little loud for my taste if you want to have a conversation, but not a deal braker. Street paid parking available; walking to the restaurant is advised.

The drinks were really good! My only complaint is the price. Of course handcrafted cocktails are expensive, especially in Miami, but wow. The drinks were really small, and had so much ice that they ended up being not very many sips at all. I locked eyes with one of the bartender and she completely looked away from me.. several times :( took about 15 minutes and we reached our arms out and flagged bartender Reilly. Her greeting and attention was genuine so I was happy to get her. Unfortunately, she got busy and we got the initial lady that ignored us. She was not kind, not attentive and didn't really want to help us - she was very fake. With that being said, we had to remind her of our drinks after 20 minutes of placing the order, in which she responded with an attitude "it's being made. We're busy" -_- -_- :( the attitude was not needed. We watched others that came in before us being served. :( I was completely annoyed and upset. She didn't even bring the drinks to us like the other bartenders were doing, she made us get it. Poor service from this one bartender while the others were happy and servicing their patrons. After our first drinks, I noticed she spoke to her colleague and he came over and asked if we wanted to close out.. . Wtf kicking us out? We said no and he opened a tab. When she noticed we were ordering more, she was a bit more attentive. So wrong. Luckily, the drinks were delicious. Perfect. We did end up coming back to the Lasseter and got a gentleman bartender that was so kind and attentive and made our drinks even better! The attention to detail and love he made in my drinks, so that is why I decided to make make this a 3 stars rather than two. He saved this place. The toilet sitting area is very warm, not very air conditioned properly so expect to be a little warm especially after a couple of sips. It's also the walkway to an actual big restrooms for the whole building. The drinks are VERY pricy but the setting is perfect and makes up for it. Unfortunately, the service was not up to par. Disney priced drinks without the Disney customer service. Do I want to come back? Yes. Am I going to be picky with the vibes coming from the bartender and chose who to go to? Also yes. Hopefully, I can increase the rating.

It's made with Maple Bacon Infused Maker's Mark, vanilla cinnamon syrup, bitters and cedar smoke. So good! I also recently tried the Red Flag made with Cazadores Blanco, lime, agave, strawberry-infused Aperol, and topped with bubbles. So refreshing and tasty. You cant go wrong with any of their cocktails. The mixologist knows what they're doing and as a matter of fact, this place has won several competitions during SOBEWFF. It gets packed late at night, especially Friday and Saturday so get there at a decent hour so you grab a table or space by the bar. Will keep coming back!

The steak is excellent--well-prepared, flavorful, and one of the highlights of the menu. Desserts are just as impressive, making it worth saving room at the end. The bar scene is solid, especially during happy hour. It has a relaxed but stylish feel, perfect for a casual drink or starting your evening before dinner. Overall, Toro Toro delivers a well-rounded experience with great food, a good atmosphere, and reliable service. For being located inside a hotel, it stands out--and it's absolutely a place I'd recommend.
