We started by ordering a variety of appetizers--everything was great! The spring rolls were delicious, and we tried several dim sum and baos, with Wagyu and veggie options. The duck was absolutely amazing, and the noodles were also very tasty. The service was excellent. The staff gave us great recommendations that were totally worth it, and they were very attentive to dietary restrictions, which we really appreciated. The ambiance was nice and made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place worth visiting! read more

Hutong Miami in Brickell is an elevated dining experience that brings together bold flavors, stylish ambiance, and seriously good energy. Whether you're vegetarian or not, there's something for everyone--but I was especially impressed with their veg-forward dishes, which truly held their own. What I Loved: Wild Mushroom & Spinach Dumplings - These were phenomenal. Delicate wrappers, perfectly steamed, and packed with rich umami flavor. Vegetarian Fried Noodles - Wok-tossed to perfection with crisp veggies, just the right amount of sauce, and that delicious smoky edge you get from a good wok fry. Kung Po Tofu - Crispy tofu with a spicy-sweet glaze that had just the right kick. Seafood Fried Rice - A few of my meat-eating friends tried this one, and, they weren't big fans. They felt it was a little underwhelming compared to the rest of the dishes. The Vibe: The atmosphere is amazing--dim lighting, chic décor, and great music that gives the whole space a lively, upscale feel without being too loud. It's definitely a place for celebrations and special occasions--there were multiple birthday groups around us, all having a great time. If you're looking for elevated Chinese cuisine with a modern twist, especially as a vegetarian, Hutong hits the mark. I'll definitely be back for those dumplings and noodles--and maybe next time, for my own birthday! read more

Do not ever go to this place. The food tastes like dead fish and they deserve every bad review. I used to be a regular, but my last visit before this was almost a year ago. The dumplings tasted off, and the sea bass was worse. I forced down a few bites only because I had a meeting after, leaving half the plate I asked for the check. When the waitress asked, I told her about the dead fish. She took it to the kitchen, the manager came out with a deader-fish face, interrogating me like I was a criminal for not complaining sooner. On top of that, they force a 20% tip I couldn't remove. This would be for sure my last f*cking visit. This restaurant tastes like dead fish. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Miami! I can't believe it's not always fully booked, maybe a best kept secret!? But im happy I can get a table because the food is delicious, the service is great, & the ambiance is perfect! I think this is the perfect celebration restaurant too! They do lots of special things for birthdays, as well as certain drinks and dishes. I'm also vegan and eat SO WELL here. There are options for everyone. Kudos to the chef for the creativity and execution of these amazing dishes! read more

I really enjoyed the lunch menu at Hutong today. I was walking by on my way to Whole Foods and remembered that they have a special lunch menu. I'm usually never nearby during lunch but have always wanted to try. So I quickly booked a reservation on Open Table and walked in. I thoroughly enjoyed the food, especially the starters. I got two types of dumplings: spinach/mushroom and prawn/truffle. The prawn/truffle one was divine. I also enjoyed the fried chicken entry and fried rice. I would recommend this place for lunch if you'd like a classy option for low cost and high value. read more

Welcoming host greeted my party upon arrival and was seated promptly. This location is the complete opposite than their Manhattan location. Their Manhattan location is more upscale, formal, and quiet. This particular location was loud, modern, and has a more casual vibe. The food is authentic Chinese food and they hit the mark on everything. The Peking Duck was properly prepared and not oily. Served with the traditional Pancake and fixings. Then there are the non traditional items such as the Wagyu Beef Millefeuille which was essentially a flavor bomb that explodes when you put it in your mouth. What Hutong got right that a lot of restaurants fails to do is they keeping the classics a classic and true to the original way of preparation while also adding some modern twist to other items and taking it to a whole other level. It was a perfect balance of tradition and an journey in gastronomy experimentation... and they executed it very well. Hutong managed to pull of something that even the well established DaDong cannot and that is introducing true upscale Chinese dining experience to the world. It's a breath of fresh air to have a Chinese dining experience that push the limits instead of falling into the stereotypical American-Chinese take out classics. read more

***So Bad*** I loved this place when it first opened. Super cool vibe and great food. NOW, it's the most over priced disappointment of a restaurant that I have been to in a while. 2 small appetizers, 1 main dish and 1 rice dish - add a couple of drinks - $450!!! Obscene. The food was worse than the worst strip mall Chinese I have ever had. To make matters worse, the AC was broken. This place should needs to close - it's a disaster. read more

Came here on a date night. And the food was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is very dimly lit and it has a sexy atmosphere. They are known for their pecking duck, so I try that on the menu when was absolutely delicious. It was served in two portions and I must say I was full. I highly recommend getting the mala Prawns they are spicy and yummy. Cocktails were good. We had about two rounds of drinks dessert three appetizers and two entrées. Our bill came up to around 300 bucks is worth it for a birthday anniversary or a sexy date night. I highly recommend the service was absolutely amazing. read more

This was actually my second time at Hutong- my first time here was a quick lunch i couldn't have much on the menu, it was very empty it just was a bit cushy and quiete for me but my second time around was just Sunday where we came for their brunch which is till 4pm, the staff was much more friendlier which really is one of the things i prefer whenever eating anywhere , they explained the brunch menu pretty well answered all my questions and really just let us explore the brunch menu to its full extent. For brunch they have a free flow menu which you can pay just for the food and if you want drinks they have additional packages added one for a total of 296 dollar (20%) included we had peking duck me and my guest we had an endless amount of spring rolls, dim sum and really got to try so many different kinds, we also had fried rice and each got an entree with it, the chilean sea bass was amazing everything tasted great and the drinks were amazing as well the staff was friendly kept everything flowing well and was very attentive overall for that price in food and drinks it's a bit more than many people would spend but for a special occasion a birthday brunch we would definitely come back! amazing food and literally the duck is to die for was our first time ever trying duck and have been craving it ever since trying it astronomically amazing. We will be back and really recommend more on their brunch menu free flow style menu only because of my allergies and restriction but if you can eat whatever you want come here whenever it's great and you won't regret it! My only negative was give us a little bit more music because it was quieter in the restaurant but overall i give it a 9/10! read more

I have had my eyes on Hutong since moving to Florida. There are a few Chinese restaurants that are just OK, but I understand this is exceptional. Hutong is also located in London, New York City, Hong Kong, and Dubai. This is a modern & elegant restaurant in the heart of Brickell. Using OpenTable I made a lunch reservation a week and advance, giving a credit card to hold our table. There was valet parking that we couldn't find, we parked in a large lot & had difficulty finding the exit & restaurant. The restaurant was very warm, but the bathroom was cool and comfortable. Peter, our waiter explained the menu & took good care of us. The Miami Spice 3 course lunch menu looks perfect starting with a dim sum 3 piece platter and ending with sweet Unami ice cream with miso caramel sauce. The Kung po chicken, fiery chili prawns, pan seared beef tenderloin & roasted Peking duck entrees are all enticing. I enjoyed my eight large prawns with fried rice, although everything was very salty. Our son's chicken, and my husband's beef tenderloin was equally delicious. read more

Great ambiance. The duck is amazing and i loved the fried rice. The beef and scallop dumplings were also really good. I order a kettle one and soda for 28$ tip included so it's def on the pricey end of restaurants. With that said The duck alone is def worth the price of admission, but most of the other food options were good, but a bit up to the level of the price. read more

Living in the Miami/ Palm Beach area (I know that covers a bit of a wide berth) finding a real good Chinese restaurant is not easy to put it mildly. Many here that we would say are acceptable would not cut it in the Chinatowns of New York or San Francisco. While this is not cheap by any means (it is in Brickell and there are very few "cheap" places there) and you tend to get what you pay for. That said, Hutong has good Chinese food and I am not saying for the area it is good. It is good; period. We were here for Miami Spice Week. We had their Miami Spice Week menu. Everyone got a Dimsum platter. I had a pan seared beef tenderloin which I really enjoyed. My wife had the Ma La Chili Prawns. I tried it and I could have had that and enjoyed it as well. This came along with fried rice. The dessert was a sweet umani with miso caramel. A great way to finish this meal! It is a toasted rice ice cream, parmesan cheese vanilla and fleur de sel. It was done well. Peter our waiter explained all this before we ordered and was attentive and answered all of our questions. So you're wondering why only a 4. It was warm inside. I wondered what temperature the AC was turned to. Other than that, I would have given it a 5. Definitely would go back. Like I said in the beginning, finding good Chinese food in this area isn't easy. read more

We arrived at 4 PM to a nearly empty restaurant and were immediately told we only had 1 hour and 20 minutes to eat. When that time passed, the restaurant was literally empty, yet a server walked over with a POS machine while we were still eating. I'm not sure if this was meant to assert some kind of "status," but it came across as rude and unnecessary. The food quality absolutely does not justify the price. Cold, pre-prepared roasted duck. Every dish aggressively salty. Small portions. Zero refinement. If this restaurant wants to compare itself to the New York Hutong, it shouldn't -- the gap is embarrassing. Service staff seemed poorly trained, yet the restaurant has no hesitation adding a mandatory 20% service charge. For what, exactly? The host's attitude was especially unpleasant -- condescending for no apparent reason. If you like paying extra for mediocre food and unwarranted arrogance, this is your spot. Otherwise, save your money and your time. read more

TLDR: As expected, a western restaurant in a Chinese trenchcoat My Chinese family and I wanted some Chinese food on our miami vacation, and we chose this restaurant because it was close to our hotel. Ambience was great. Didn't have high expectations for food after seeing there were very few asians eating there, but in general I was... whelmed. While the presentation of the food was beautiful, the taste itself was mid and extremely sweet, felt like the meat dishes were dessert. Not a single chinese drink--was looking forward to some baijiu but the menu consisted of only french, spanish, and japanese wines. Our server was good and the receptionists were helpful. When we got to the table, there was bizarrely only a single chopstick for each person on the plates. Not sure if that was a mistake lol, but we were quickly given the proper chopstick pairs. Would not recommend for those looking for a proper Chinese meal, though I'm sure it would be more palatable for the general audience seeing as the restaurant was quite busy. read more

Came here with my friend's son for lunch. We ordered from the Miami Spice menu for $35 per person. It came with a dim sum appetizer, which consisted of 3 different types of steamed dumplings, an entree and a scoop of ice cream for dessert. The entrees included one of the following with fried rice: SPICED GOLDEN TOFU crispy wok tossed tofu in spiced dried garlic KUNG PO CHICKEN with cashews in chili garlic glaze, vegan chicken available MALA CHILI PRAWNS (add $10) fiery sichuan peppercorns, garlic, ginger & julienned chinese celery PRIME BEEF TENDERLOIN (add $15) pan seared DESSERTS SWEET UMAMI WITH MISO CARAMEL AND SEA SALT toasted sweet rice ice cream, parmesan cheese, vanilla powder, fleur de sel I was very disappointed in the food from a high end restaurant. The fried rice had absolutely no flavor. It could have just been plain white rice. The Kung Po chicken was tough!! Which chef doesn't know how to cook chicken?! Both my dining partner and I were extremely surprised. He said the he enjoys the Kung Po chicken from Panda Express more than this tough chicken. I let him share the beef tenderloin which was cooked to perfection (thank goodness!). Check out my other reviews if you want good Chinese food. This place is not worth even a quarter of what they charged for the meal. I really do NOT recommend this place. read more

Hong Kong/San Francisco style Peking Duck in Miami you say? Why yes, complete with the "Miami Spice" marketing menu. I stuck with the Flaming Peking Duck which is as good as what you get in Hong Kong or San Francisco. Just excellent. Very good cocktails as well. All I ate was the duck, so didn't get to the rest of the menu. The Peking Duck came in two courses, the flaming presentation, sliced, and served with sauce and sliced vegetables in a mushu style wrap. The second course was diced for a lettuce wrap. It t was great duck either way. I had an excellent dessert, a butterscotch ice cream on a riz au lait. Delicious. If you want Chinese in Miami, this is the place. read more

Honestly one of the worst dining experiences I've had in Miami. I've lived here all my life and eat at nice restaurants all the time, this was extremely disappointing and I do not recommend it to anyone. The service was horrible. Our server looked like it was his first day on earth. Did not know any of the menu items or how to describe them. Despite it being Art Basel, the outside was not busy at all, and we could not get our servers attention for several minutes after our food came and we did not have silverware or fresh plates. He paid very little mind to the fact that the appetizers and entrees were barely touched or eaten. It made sense why he didn't seem to care when the check came and 20% gratuity was included already. The food also was not good and difficult to enjoy. The king crab with tofu was more like 8oz of tofu w a sprinkle of crab on top. The taste was also not all that. We ended up sharing the wok fried chicken n fried rice which was also very underwhelming and not impressive at all. Both of them were very bland and dry. Over all very disappointed with the quality of this place. Definitely couldn't recommend this place any less read more

I hate when this happens. I loved my first experience here so much that a friend and I decided to come back a year later. It's pretty expensive for a bottomless brunch. The menu has gone down. Lots of items have been removed. The brunch menu use to have 19 items it now has around 13. You can get extra for an additional price. There's no longer valet on Sundays. The place was pretty empty, I'm guessing because it has gone down. I was asked if I had any allergies to which I mentioned Mango and yet mango was still brought. They corrected it once I reminded them but had i not noticed I would've ended up looking like "Hitch". We were also left unattended for a good while, since it's a bottomless for 2 hrs felt like they were being stingy on the bottomless. The food was pretty good, not amazing, I feel it's very overpriced now. read more

Best Chinese food I've had in Miami by far. Excellent authentic Shezuan food. The venue is beautiful with exceedingly high ceiling, great woodwork on the walls n comfortable seating. The rose shrimp dumpling amd veggie spring roll starters were both excellent. I had the MaPo tofu but had to add some spice to it. The four seasons beans were crunchy and packed with flavor. I will definitely go back again to try their Dim Sum platter and their crispy eggplant. read more

Brunch here is Excellent. I liked everything about. The taste the service and the ambiance.

Hutong has been a favorite go to for spicy northern Chinese cuisine and I'm surprised I didn't write a review sooner. Hutong is located in Brickell, has a sexy dim lit vibe with woods and comfy sofa chairs even at the bar and outdoor terrace. I love their bottomless brunch on the weekends because it is a steal. You get full portions for the same price of the bottomless. I explored last Friday the autumn social hour. Drinks were $12. I got the numbing drink which was spicy and balanced. We also got shrimp rolls that were delicious and fried and shrimp and scallop wontons were succulent. For main entree we did both the red lantern and Chilean sea bass. Both were fried items but we enjoyed the spiciness of the crab and the sweetness of the marinade on the Chilean sea bass Definitely go here for ambience, and excellent food especially if you like spicy! read more

I've been here for both brunch and dinner and it's definitely a nice experience to dine here. The decor is very beautiful and there are both outside and inside seating options. The brunch is an all you can eat and drink menu which includes tasty dim sum and small plates. They have increased their prices and removed some of the dishes offered in the last year or 2, but I would say that it is still worth it if you're looking for a nice brunch experience! For dinner, I would definitely recommend the Peking duck. We ordered the half duck and it was a lot of food. Paired with a few dim sum dishes and we were stuffed! For dessert, we ordered the soy milk ice cream which was delicious and adorable! Overall, it's definitely more on the pricier side, and this is not the traditional dim sum menu that you might be used to, but the experience is very nice. Never in the mood for Chinese food. Came here with a friend because it was on her list of restaurants to try, so we did. It was the meal I didn't know I wanted. We started with the crispy pork dumplings. That first bite was everything. It gave me emotions. Every bite was delicious. We also ordered Kung Po Chicken, don't let the waiter tell you it will be spicy. We told him to surprise us, it was mild, and extra spice was provided the side. So if you like spicy, take it as is or ask for extra. We paired the chicken with the Chefs fried rice. So so good. The vibe with great. Music on point, and service was nice. We loved it! Hutong delivers with fantastic food in small, shareable portions. The flavors work well, the dishes never overwhelmed by one attribute which was a surprise given the different chili or garlics or whatnot used in different recipes.
