I had been looking forward to trying double luck, but luck was not on my side tonight. The food was overly greasy, fried and not impressive in the least bit. The duck salad was basically a bunch of cilantro stem's with minuscule peices of meat. The crab ragoon was overhyped, the eggplant was overly fried and thickly breaded. I even brought the spicy noodles home for my boyfriend and he took one bite and said the flavor was off. I added a 3rd star because the service was great, but the food was not

Pretty good! Cute little place and good service. Let's get into food: - wagyu salad was really great, actually my favorite appetizer that we ordered - walnut shrimp was also really good and glad we last minute ordered it - tempura eggplant was alright. I think I was expecting to like it a little more. Not bad but I wouldn't order again - long beans were great - orange chicken was delicious - mapo tofu was good, not my favorite mapo tofu I've ever had but still good, - crab fried rice I like but I think it was a bit too sweet or maybe missing something for me - Szechuan noodles was my least favorite dish we ordered, and not because it was spicy but because it was really heavy. The peanut sauce was pretty thick and I thought it needed more. I ended up swizzling a like on it that made it better for me but still it just didn't sit well for me

I have been craving Chinese food and remember hearing about Double Luck. From what I heard, it originally started as a pop-up at the former Schnitzel House German restaurant on the 79th Street Causeway. Stopping by for dinner yesterday, I saw that it has been repainted from the white façade. That was the original restaurant to proper signage. Stepping inside, the space has the classic red lanterns, Chinese movie posters, and even the background music has Chinese language covers of old pop Classics. I was able to get a seat at the bar, where I ordered both their Hennessy orange chicken as well as the bacon and egg fried rice. The bartender wasn't kidding when he said that the orders were huge. Service was attentive, even though I came last minute and the food was brought out in a timely fashion. The bacon, egg, fried rice, served with a runny egg on top, was both flavorful and nicely presented. It can be enjoyed by itself; as it were, I have leftover for lunch & dinner. The orange chicken was nicely presented with a Hennessy flambée ("fire, fire, fire") and very tasty. It's prepared with sour orange oranges that give the chicken pieces a great taste will combined with the cognac. I passed on drinks and dessert, which is why I'm keeping it at four stars, but I will definitely come back another time.

We went to Tam Tam recently and OMG we loved the experience, and we love any type of Asian food and we knew we had to try the Double Luck Chinese pop-up (from the same family of restaurants/owner as Tam Tam). We made a reservation via Resy a few days before the weekend and didn't have any issue getting our desired date and time. We parked behind the Double Luck restaurant, where they have a big open parking lot for the restaurant with free parking. We arrived at our reservation time and were greeted warmly by restaurant staff and were shown to our table. We were then greeted a few minutes later by our server and were provided our menu and she came by a few minutes later to answer any questions we had. We ordered a bottle of wine to start (they started around $60 per bottle) and they had a good variety. For food, we ordered the following: -Char Siu Ribs ($18) - OMG so amazing and flavorful! -Long Beans ($13) - very fresh and large portion -Crab Fried Rice ($24) - large portion and very fresh and flavorful! -Hennessy Orange Chicken ($25) - an ABSOLUTE MUST! Amazing presentation and one of the most unique Chinese dishes I've ever had! -Tea Smoked Duck Buns ($65) - large portion and the duck was cooked to perfection and something I could have imagined having at a Michelin starred restaurant! -Oolong Tea Panna Cotta ($15) - very light and fresh, and presentation was exquisite! From the time we arrived to departing, everything was done to perfection - service was amazing and so was the food! We can't wait to come back and recommend it to anyone in Miami that enjoys Chinese food!

It's taken me months to come here because I was thrown off by the prices. These are dishes I'm used to paying significantly less for growing up in the 626. I love orange chicken but $25?? Anyways, I tried it. I hate to say it, I'm not mad at it. I still think some of the prices are ridiculous. And I don't understand why it was brought out as course food since why am I have a plate of veges separately from my rice? Why was my rice not brought out with the rest of my dishes? WHAT I ATE: - Hennessy orange chicken - this was not the orange chicken I was expecting. It was more salty than sweet our sour. It tasted like the chicken had been brined in salt? Not sure. I did like the flambee action that made it extra crispy - long beans: I would skip. The deescription of sweet black bean sauce was nowhere to be found nor was the spicy or sweet description the menu offered - crab fried rice: I appreciate the lumps of crab. Another review said it was too fishy, and that's why I liked it. I want my rice to taste like crab and the ocean. - Mapo tofu: the most authentic dish of the night I appreciate them playing old canto songs. The interior is cute.

Double Luck is a charming little spot with thoughtful decor and a cozy feel but be prepared for very tight seating. Tables are placed so closely together that the diners next to us were less than an arm's length away. While the space is undeniably cute, the lack of privacy made the atmosphere feel more bustling than intimate. As for the food, it was overall a solid experience. My partner ordered the duck and absolutely loved it. I don't eat meat, so I opted for the fried eggplant, which I really enjoyed (though it wasn't her favorite). I tried one of the lotus buns that came with the duck, and made my own vegetarian version and absolutely loved it. For appetizers, we ordered the cabbage dish, which didn't work for me at all, but my partner liked it. We also shared the vegetarian spicy Sichuan noodles. They were good, nicely spiced and flavorful, but not particularly memorable. Shoutout to our server, Daniel, who was excellent, friendly, attentive, and on top of everything throughout the meal. All in all, I'd come back to try more of the menu. Just know going in that the space is more about buzz and energy than a quiet, intimate dining experience.

Exactly what Miami needs! I order for takeout and it was great. I had the spicy noodles and the ribs both were great and stayed well in the takeout containers. The spicy noodles were peanuty and spicy and the pieces of beef were delicious and tender. The ribs had good flavor and act as a good shareable app. Will definitely be back

Love Double Luck. The food and service are always excellent. That said, we had the bacon egg fried rice wasn't great. The rice has a tangy flavor that is offputting. I understand why that's incorporated with crab fried rice, but it's completely unnecessary with this. We also had the char sui ribs. Excellent!

From the same chef / team that brought you Tam Tam; here we have the birth of your soon or already go to Chinese restaurant in Miami. Double Luck is not like your average Chinese restaurant, this one has rizz (as the young kids would say), you come here to have a culinary experience that'll keep you wanting more until you have to unbuckle your belt to breathe. The menu will please all crowds, from their creative Crab Leg Rangoon's to their take your phones out to record Hennessy Orange Chicken dish. The service and ambiance is steller, everyone is very nice and joyful. Great place to go with a group of friends or even a nice date night outing. I'll let you on s secret too, please do not skip on the deserts, the pastry mastermind behind it is Callie and she never misses; you have my word on that. Double Luck is a gem and i am happy they exist and are officially permanent as they began as a pop up.

Weird little place. In an old schnitzel restaurant, they never bothered to change the sign. Looks kind of out of business. You sort of have to know it's here. When you step inside it's pretty cool looking. Don't expect to get a table unless you have a reservation, even on a weeknight. The menu is a bit unusual, definitely not standard Chinese. Food is very well prepared and good quality. We had crab fried rice, Hennessy orange chicken, and sesame noodles. It was all good, nothing amazing. Rice pudding for dessert also good. Everything perfectly fine, nothing that made me say wow. This was a one and done. And on a final note...we had leftovers (a fairly substantial amount). We asked for them to go, and they were completely forgotten about...thrown out. We didn't mention it to them as we didn't really care, buy that's not the best.

This spot is in a small hard to reach location just before crossing the bridge to get to North Miami Beach. It's on the left side so you'll have to turn into a small driveway to get to their parking lot or end up having to cross the bridge and come back. Once you get inside it has a small diner feel. About ten seats at the bar and then maybe 7 booths and ten tables. Then once you get to the food most of the dishes hit the spot. My favorite was the orange chicken, the crab fried rice, and the spare ribs. We also had the shrimp which were not bad and some vegetables and the noodles. All the items were good but strong recs for the first three.

This spot is BOMB! My mouth gets watery just thinking of it. I have already made my next reservation and can't wait to come again. I sat at the bar since I was flying solo and had the best time. Authentic Chinese and a great atmosphere!

I'll start with a positive: I actually really liked the anime-themed decor. It's unique, fun, and definitely adds personality to the space. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. The customer service wasn't great. It felt inattentive and unwelcoming, which immediately set the tone for the meal. We ordered two servings of crab rangoon, and I was honestly shocked at both the price and the quality. To put it simply it was the worst crab rangoon I've ever had. They tasted like they were deep-fried in old oil, with that heavy, stale aftertaste. They didn't seem fresh at all more like something pulled from a freezer and quickly dropped into the fryer. When I opened them up, there was barely any filling besides cream cheese. I couldn't find any actual crab inside, which was really disappointing, especially considering how much they charged for them. I was genuinely sad about how much money we spent on those two orders, only to be completely let down. I love supporting unique, themed spots and the anime vibe really had potential but unfortunately, the food quality and service just didn't meet expectations. I hope they improve because the concept itself is cute.

This Chinese…read morerestaurant is near my home and I frequently see it, but had never tried it until I noticed that the place I usually go for Chinese food was not on any of my delivery apps. Consequently, when I decided it was a night for takeout and eating in front of the television, I figured why not. Canton Lee has a nice menu with all of the usual Chinese American choices. They have both lunch and combination dinner specials, which are very reasonably priced. But what really struck me was did they list all of my favorite dishes for takeout and they are well priced as well. My mother, a blessed memory, and still the love of Chinese food and me, and she would never start a meal without three distinct things. Wonton soup, spareribs (on the bone, of course), and egg roll. I ordered these items and they're not just tasted great but they were so good thst they even were able to bring back. Great memories (Sidenote: Dad loved pork strips and yatke mein soup which I rarely find these days.). Moving onto the main dishes, I ordered the Dragon and Phoenix, which is a mixture of sautéed shrimp and orange chicken. Their iteration is not spicy like I prefer, but it's really good. I love that. The chicken is still crispy even for takeout and is always nice, moist chicken breast. Maybe next time I will ask if they make it spicy. The second Dish that I ordered is Assorted Wonton which is beef, chicken and shrimp. Sautéed in a garlic sauce with pork wontons. The vegetables mixed in are extremely fresh and the sauce is delicious. I like this dish a lot although the wontons are these flat things that are a little bit strange to me and I would prefer the more robust ones I have had at other restaurants. The young chow fried rice is a huge hit for me as it is not only delicious but a huge quantity is packed into the container. Mixed into the rice, our combination of meat, chicken, and seafood, making this a perfect side dish or even main dish. There are many things in the menu I'd like to try but have not gotten around to yet. Regrettably I forgot to take pictures, but will add them at some point. I cannot comment on the ambience. as I have not been to the restaurant. What I can say, however is the both times that I have ordered the food was delivered quicker than expected. It arrives hot. Perhaps the only complaint that I have and it is not a very big one is that when I do the takeout order I check off the box to include utensils and plates, but neither time were they included. Again, not a big deal, but they should not offer that if they're not going to do it. So overall, I'm rating this specifically as a takeout restaurant as this is the only experience I have with them and as far as that goes, they are at the top of my list.

My wife is a fan of honey chicken, and the reviews that I read online spoke highly of it. This dish did not disappoint at all. Lightly breaded unlike so many Chinese restaurants where you have to dig for the chicken through a very starchy coating. This was delicious moist chicken breast with a light and tasty breading. The honey sauce was in a separate container, which was nice as the food arrived. Still crispy and delicious. We all enjoyed this dish immensely. The second dish we ordered was called Four Seasons, presumably for the four proteins which were chicken, pork, shrimp, and beef. The shrimp was described as Jumbo shrimp but calling them jumbo would be a stretch and the fact that they were difficult to even find in the dish as I think there were only two or three total. The beef and chicken were cooked reasonably, but the pork must've been cooked a while before the dish and was so tough and difficult to chew that I gave up and threw it out. The vegetables were overcut as well and were soggy and essentially tasteless. Exact opposite of the honey chicken this is a dish that I could never recommend. Lastly was the shrimp fried rice. There were a fair amount of shrimp although they didn't seem to be well distributed to the rice and all seem to be near the top of the container. That may have been coincidence. The rice itself was a bit salty otherwise had virtually no flavor. It was very disappointing. Overall, the delivery was quick and the honey chicken was superb. The rest of the meal was not memorable and there are too many places with better overall food for me too risk another disappointment by ordering from there again. Although I might just order some honey chicken and skip the rest.
