Been craving dim sum in Miami for a while and there's really any options close to downtown where I live, so finally made it out here to try and was very satisfied! The place is a bit smaller than the typical large cart-rolling dim sum places I'm used to in the East coast or West coast but they have all of the classic options from dumplings, steamed rice rolls, turnip cakes, bbq meats, sweet buns, etc. We got an order of shrimp dumplings (har how) which were big and juicy, scallop dumplings which were good but pretty similar in taste to the shrimp, steamed rice roll filled with crispy donut which came with a generous portion, and lotus leaf wrapped sticky rice which was also surprisingly large and filled with meat including little chunks of marinated chicken, pork, and a few pieces of lap cheong Chinese sausage. Overall, while I do miss the spectacle of dim sum carts rolling around, this no frills place hits the spot if you're looking for dim sum or Chinese food in general.

Traditional Chinese spot that has been around for a long time. There were a few things I liked, such as the pork dumplings and the eggplant, but unfortunately, I wouldn't go back. Nothing on the menu really stood out or made me feel like I would want to return or recommend. There isn't much to say about the ambiance or service, as both were pretty average. Parking is convenient since it's located in a plaza, and you can also walk over afterward to a nearby Chinese convenience store that has a wide assortment of snacks and food items.

When you want Chinese food and walk into a place where there is nothing but Asians around sitting in wooden tables and doing nothing more than looking at their food and shoveling it down with chopsticks then you know you're at the right place! For starters this is the place to go for Dim sum! They have an a tensile dim sum menu and it every single one of them is phenomenal. Their lunch or dinner combination menu is enough food for two to share or even two meals. The duck soup is as authentic as it gets with noodles, bokchoy and 1/2 a crispy duck breast. The service is authentically Chinese with a paper to write your dim sum on and every time you finish a plate their is someone watching to come grab it faster than you can put it down. Miami can really use more dim sum places like this.

Our go to Chinese place. No nonsense authentic food. Fresh and delicious. We've been coming here for over 10 years and we love it. We love the shrimp wonton. The sticky rice is slso a treat. The service is impeccable. We also love the dim sum. Actually everything is delicious. Nice portions for sharing. Very laid back vibe but not about the food!

Authentic as it gets. You know it's legit when the people that are there look like they belong. Everything we had was really good to straight up delicious. The fried rice was elite Service while being to the point is still better than you would normally get in Miami

Still awesome after all these years. Not trying to be fancy just really good food perfectly cooked at a vary fair price

So this is def on the outskirts of Miami and looks like a whole in the wall. I had visited the asian shop a couple of doors down but never imagined to stop in and try the food at this restaurant. I was craving chinese and so I read the reviews and decided to stop in. My honest review is that I was questioning my decision when I stepped into the restaurant, it's not fancy, but what shocked me the most was the carpet on the floor, i'm just not a fan. The staff was so nice and menu was large. I picked a couple of items off the dim sum menu and I was pleasantly surprised. Everything I tried was delicious.

I'm changing my review. All of my past visits have been great. The food is great. But on my last visit I was taking family to a birthday brunch, and the minute we stepped in everyone noticed a very strong bathroom deodorizer-like smell. It was strong enough to trigger an asthma reaction in me. We had to leave. My wife asked them what that was, and she was told that they were cleaning the bathrooms with Fabulosa.... Not so much a cleaner as a perfume scented deodorizer. Whatever it was, its strong overwhelming presence would have ruined our meal even I I could have stayed. What a disappointment that a poor decision by someone cleaning a bathroom should impact the restaurant so significantly on a Sunday brunch morning. We ended up having a delightful meal at Tropical Chinese, even if that involved a less interesting selection of Dim Sum. I hope the management rethinks their cleaning timing and choice of cleaners.

Only a four because of decor. But the food is fantastic This is a neighborhood staple. Just down the street from the much fancier tropical Chinese. The exception here is its cheaper, friendlier and has dim sum ALL DAY LOV

My favorite dumpling spot in Miami by far. Come here all the time and it never disappoints, food is consistently amazing! Good prices and very kind & helpful staff. Inside isn't fancy, but always clean and comfortable. Have tried many many things on the menu, but my favorites are the green tea mushroom dumplings, soup dumplings, roast pork buns, and their egg rolls.

Picked up a wonton noodle soup and a yang chow fried rice for dinner!! It hit the spot! Next time I'll get the duck noodle soup.

Food is amazing. If ordering over the phone for pick up , sometimes lack service can happen. But overall the food is great.

Ask the Community - Kon Chau Restaurant

Are they offering dine in again?

Yes, it is open! I just posted a review yesterday ... enjoy

Are they planning on reopening for dine in?

    Probably not any time soon

Do they take all major credit cards like Amex?

Everything but Amex. But the food is great , take out only.

Are they open for sit down dining or is it take out only?

    Take out only for now.

Have they reopened for DINE-IN services again since the county lifted the restrictions on restaurants? If so, how late are they open now?

They are still only offering take out only, no dine in.

Does anyone know if they use peanut oil?

    No, sorry

What are their dim sum hours?

Dim sum style is all day.... unlike other dim sum places they do not run around with carts.... you write what you like and they start bringing you plates.

Hakkasan is quite a special restaurant. If you're looking for a very high end dim sum experience,…read morethis is the place. The ambiance is moody and sexy. The service is top notch with extreme attention to detail. We were celebrating my friend's birthday so we went all out and did the Taste of Hakkasan Prix Fixe menu for $175. It was so much food but everything was phenomenal. I especially enjoyed the duck, all of the dumplings, the sea bass and beef tenderloin. But the flavors were great in every dish. Between the two of us, we had a ton of leftovers which wasn't ideal as we were staying in a hotel. We asked for a mini fridge and munched on the very expensive leftovers it in between activities. Although it was extremely pricey, we had a lovely experience and I'd love to go back when feasible.

The service was incredibly slow, and our waiter Juan Pablo was unfriendly and completely inattentive throughout the meal. He made Mother's Day brunch at Hakkasan a bad experience. The restaurant wasn't even half full, yet it took forever just to place our order, have dishes cleared, and get drink refills. On top of the poor service, the brunch menu has become extremely limited. They no longer offer the dim sum platters as pictured in the advertisement and many of our favorite dishes including the venison and pumpkin puffs are no longer on the menu. We loved bringing our parents here for dim sum and to celebrate special occasions, but after today, this will definitely be our last visit. What should have been a special Mother's Day celebration ended up being a huge disappointment.

Located off Stirling Road (accessible from both directions), Hong's BBQ sits amongst the various shops that make up the Stirling Place Plaza. If you're here based off your search for food around the Seminole Hard Rock Casino and Hotel Hollywood, you've got the same idea as us and this review is for you; Hong's is essentially "around the corner" from the casino and a great option if you want to venture off the resort for some great food. Recommended by a source for reliable eats, we decided to give Hong's BBQ a go before our trip back to Tampa. We found that Hong's BBQ has some great authentic Canto-style Chinese cuisine. Not big by any means (you can't necessarily host a large banquet style gathering here), there is definitely ample seating - mainly suited for parties of 4. We came around 1pm on a Sunday and had no issues being seated - although the restaurant maintained a steady flow of customers in and out of the restaurant. There are a few larger round tables scatter throughout with the typical lazy-susan setup in the center that may accommodate larger parties of 6-8. If you're not interested in dining-in, there is definitely a "butcher's" station/display that is set up toward the back of the dining section. The setup within the restaurant definitely brought back nostalgic memories of Chinatown restaurants and their racks of char-siu, roast duck, pig, and soy chicken hanging under the heating lamps. From here, you can order cuts of the aforementioned meats by weight without the "extras." The menu offered a great variety of Canto-style cuisine; I would argue that it's hard to go wrong with a choice based on their selections they have available. We ordered two noodle soups (roast duck and char siu), along with an order of the beef chow fun, which were all outstanding. Beginning with the noodle soups, you have 3 different noodle options; I opted for the flat rice noodles which I instantly craved upon identifying it as a choice. The noodles were cooked to al-dente perfection that had a good amount of "bounce" while easy to chew. The broth was also on a whole other level that warrants praise in itself. The beef chow fun is also a must - yes, I recognize that this may be considered a "basic" choice, but Hong's BBQ makes this the right way. The service wasn't poor - let's just say that it falls in line with the coveted 3-star Asian restaurant rating (If you know, you know). The servers knew how and when to deliver. All in all, Hong's BBQ is a great place to dine with your family. I would recommend this to anyone in or travelling to this area.

Heard about this place and wanted to try it's BBQ and roasted meats…read more We stopped by on a Thursday evening around 5. The eatery seats about 40 and is clean and simply decorated. It was empty. But it slowly got more diners, with about 5 tables filled before we left. Service was fine but the waitress who took our order barely spoke English and it was difficult getting answers about items on the menu. Nevertheless, we ordered pan-fried dumplings, the three meat combo plate with roast duck, BBQ roast pork, and crispy pork. We also got a seafood platter with salt and pepper shrimp, squid, and scallops. The latter didn't have much taste. We couldn't even taste any salt and pepper. The dish came on a bed of shredded raw cabbage. There was no rice. When I asked, the server (a different one from the woman who took our order) brought us a small bowl. They had forgotten to put the rice on the plate. (The dish is advertised as being served on a bed of rice.) The meat platter was decent. Although the duck skin needed to be crispier, the pork skin was very crispy. The BBQ roast pork was tasty, boasting a nice char siu flavor. The few strands of Chinese broccoli that was served with the dish was cold, as if it was added from the refrigerator. We enjoyed the pan-fried dumplings. They seemed to be homemade. One appetizer, two entrees, tax, and tip was $66.
