Soup dumplings have been at the tops of my cravings requests recently. So just know that's what my review is based on. And theirs did not disappoint. When you enter you are immediately greeted at the front and quickly seated. Our waitress came to bring us water and take our order within a few minutes. I only came for the soup dumplings. They come 3 to an order for $5.95. They come out super fresh and steaming so let them cool down. The broth inside is delicious and really hit the spot. My husband ordered the pan fried pork dumpling. Also come 3 per order. We loved both and were happy with flavor, seasoning. Especially how fast the food came out. I would call this a small restaurant. The space is very casual with ample seating. On a Monday afternoon they were pretty busy so that tells me locals also really love this spot. I'll be coming back to try more of their menu. read more

I came to this restaurant due to the hype on social media because of their authentic food. I decided to come and try it with a friend and it did not disappoint. As soon as you're seated, you get offered hot tea and water. The hot tea is good. The waiter provided some great suggestions. The only thing is that we did have to request the chow mein noodles, when it was offered to the other tables. To eat, I tried the fried shrimp taro cake, fried crab rangoon, pan fried pork dumplings and special lomein. The fried shrimp taro cake was the best thing I've tried that day. It was delicious and I could eat this all day, everyday. The fried crab rangoon was also delicious and I will definitely order it again. The pork dumplings were tasty too. The special lomein had pork, chicken and shrimp and it was very good. It also came with white rice, which was had no seasoning, but that was expected. The special lomein is definitely a shareable dish. Overall, the service was good and the food was very tasty. I was also very surprised how affordable it was. Traditional Chinese spot that has been around for a long time. There were a few things I liked, such as the pork dumplings and the eggplant, but unfortunately, I wouldn't go back. Nothing on the menu really stood out or made me feel like I would want to return or recommend. There isn't much to say about the ambiance or service, as both were pretty average. Been craving dim sum in Miami for a while and there's really any options close to downtown where I live, so finally made it out here to try and was very satisfied! The place is a bit smaller than the typical large cart-rolling dim sum places I'm used to in the East coast or West coast but they have all of the classic options from dumplings, steamed rice rolls, turnip cakes, bbq meats, sweet buns, etc. We got an order of shrimp dumplings (har how) which were big and juicy, scallop dumplings which were good but pretty similar in taste to the shrimp, steamed rice roll filled with crispy donut which came with a generous portion, and lotus leaf wrapped sticky rice which was also surprisingly large and filled with meat including little chunks of marinated chicken, pork, and a few pieces of lap cheong Chinese sausage. Overall, while I do miss the spectacle of dim sum carts rolling around, this no frills place hits the spot if you're looking for dim sum or Chinese food in general. read more

When you want Chinese food and walk into a place where there is nothing but Asians around sitting in wooden tables and doing nothing more than looking at their food and shoveling it down with chopsticks then you know you're at the right place! For starters this is the place to go for Dim sum! They have an a tensile dim sum menu and it every single one of them is phenomenal. Their lunch or dinner combination menu is enough food for two to share or even two meals. The duck soup is as authentic as it gets with noodles, bokchoy and 1/2 a crispy duck breast. The service is authentically Chinese with a paper to write your dim sum on and every time you finish a plate their is someone watching to come grab it faster than you can put it down. Don't be deceived by the small size, it's very quaint, mom and pop store in the shopping center off Bird.... Food is fresh and sooo tasty. They offer a vast selection of dishes and a whole day's menu of dim sum. The choices you have to make at the restaurant are so numerous, you'll need to go there at least a few times. I'm changing my review. All of my past visits have been great. The food is great. But on my last visit I was taking family to a birthday brunch, and the minute we stepped in everyone noticed a very strong bathroom deodorizer-like smell. It was strong enough to trigger an asthma reaction in me. We had to leave. My wife asked them what that was, and she was told that they were cleaning the bathrooms with Fabulosa.... Not so much a cleaner as a perfume scented deodorizer. Whatever it was, its strong overwhelming presence would have ruined our meal even I I could have stayed. What a disappointment that a poor decision by someone cleaning a bathroom should impact the restaurant so significantly on a Sunday brunch morning. We ended up having a delightful meal at Tropical Chinese, even if that involved a less interesting selection of Dim Sum. By far, the best and most authentic Chinese restaurant in South Florida. They have a phenomenal dim sum menu, with scores of choices and many stars, including roast duck noodle soup, shu mai, and soup dumpling. The wonton soup is excellent, and the daily specials (handwritten on a board) are superb, including the chive flowers with garlic and pea tips with garlic. The service is fast and the corkage fee is reasonable ($15). A couple of dishes don't quite hit the mark, including the roast duck (needed more seasoning, and some pieces had dry meat) and spareribs with black bean sauce (not traditional full-length spareribs, cut chunks that fell short on flavor). The 18% service charge also is problematic- I can understand this at a Michelin-star restaurant (even then, I have a problem with it, as it should be earned, not expected), but not at a low-key dim-sum house. Nevertheless, this should be your go-to for authentic Chinese fare. Parking is never an issue, but they don't take reservations, so get there early or expect a wait. read more

The prices are a bit high compared to what we are used to from Philadelphia, but it's possible that's just the market here. The food was quite nice, that's what we would expect of all of the dim sum. So I've been to China, and I have to say this place gives me the closest vibes to what I experienced in the far east. It's small, no razzle dazzle, but the dim sum and flavor light this place up. There really isn't a dish you can go wrong with here. Everything is delicious, and the portion sizes are great if you want to try a little bit of everything. This is our go to place for dim sum on Miami. It never disappoints! By the time I arrived, my daughters were almost finished filling out their request sheet with multiple orders of their favorites. This included many dumplings, including soup, pork, shrimp, and green tea duck dumplings. We got pork buns, wonton soup, and some kind of delish slightly spicy egg plant. Or maybe it was just spicy as they'd drizzled that on, since it was one of their side requests to the waitress. They also got some sticky buns that were considered dessert. Staff is very nice and welcoming but there's definitely a language barrier with English and Spanish speakers so don't think you can just ask questions about the menu and chat up the servers.
