Wondered into Dumpling King after a local appointment. Having never been to the area, I consulted my trusty Yelp app for reviews. After discovering it was highly rated, I happily walked up to the counter and placed my order with their self-service kiosks. It was around 3pm and no one was at the counter. I noticed one staff member in the corner of the restaurant refilling sauces. The place was basically empty. I figured this was normal for the time I got there. It's a comfortable fit for about 30 or so customers with a homey ambiance. I ordered the bubble tea and the spicy fish filet dip. As a side note, there is a special $3 discount for ordering 2 or more dumpling types. Being slightly hung over, I figured the soup was my best bet. It took about 15 mins for the food to come out. I have been here a few times and finally got the chance to try the fried chicken wings. They have a hint of curry and are absolutely scrumptious. I adore the soup dumplings; they never disappoint. We also got an order of pork pak choy dumplings and had to take some home. We always order too much for two people because we see so much that we want to eat. Server/bussers kind of linger in the self seated dining area to bring food and assist as needed. My person was very attentive and constantly cleared dishes and trash off the table. We got bubble tea, honey wings and the pork XLB. The tea was alright. Nothing wrong with it but probably would save it for a designated tea place. The wings were surprisingly good. Dumpling king is always a good time. The restaurant itself is always clean and it's nice that you can see them making the dumplings. The beef pan fried dumplings are always my go to. They're super flavorful and are always delicious. I recently tried the sesame cold noodles and they were also good but could use a bit more flavor. The wonton soup and beef noodle soup are also great options. The honey wings are crispy and have a nice honey flavor. The boba is also really good. The service is also pretty good. Recommended by a family member who has quickly become a regular at this location (and knows how much I love dumplings!). The place was packed, but service was fairly fast. They make the dumplings fresh every day, and you can even see through a window when they're making them. We had to go with the classic Xiao Long Bao, and pot stickers. But also tried their Braised Pork Rice dish and it was a wonderful, flavorful addition to the dumpling selection. We also ordered the honey chicken wings which were also a fan favorite. As well as the soups dumplings! I wasn't a fan of the scallion pancakes - but the dumplings were delish! Prices range from $10.99+ for 8 pieces or so. We also ordered the mango green tea which was super cheap for a large, it was only $5. I wasn't a fan of the Thai milk tea- it came in a slush form not a milk tea.. I'm excited that they opened one in Pembroke Pines- this place is in a hot spot - with other restaurants next to it and this place was easy to find with decent amount of parking. We split Shanghai Style Steamed Soup Dumplings, Pork Fried Dumplings, Braised Pork Rice, and finished with a boba each. We weren't able to finish it all, but we loved every bit and took the rest home. The soup dumplings were juicy and flavorful, the pan fried dumplings were particularly large and had the perfect crisp at the bottom, and the pork rice was packed with flavor and the pork melted in my mouth. The Boba was a refreshing dessert to end the meal. Both my lychee green tea with jelly and my partner's taro milk tea were positively delightful in their own way.
