My go to for take out really delivers. This Chinese restaurant is near my home and I frequently see it, but had never tried it until I noticed that the place I usually go for Chinese food was not on any of my delivery apps. Consequently, when I decided it was a night for takeout and eating in front of the television, I figured why not. Canton Lee has a nice menu with all of the usual Chinese American choices. They have both lunch and combination dinner specials, which are very reasonably priced. But what really struck me was did they list all of my favorite dishes for takeout and they are well priced as well. My mother, a blessed memory, and still the love of Chinese food and me, and she would never start a meal without three distinct things. Wonton soup, spareribs (on the bone, of course), and egg roll. I ordered these items and they're not just tasted great but they were so good thst they even were able to bring back. Great memories (Sidenote: Dad loved pork strips and yatke mein soup which I rarely find these days.). Moving onto the main dishes, I ordered the Dragon and Phoenix, which is a mixture of sautéed shrimp and orange chicken. Their iteration is not spicy like I prefer, but it's really good. I love that. The chicken is still crispy even for takeout and is always nice, moist chicken breast. Maybe next time I will ask if they make it spicy. The second Dish that I ordered is Assorted Wonton which is beef, chicken and shrimp. Sautéed in a garlic sauce with pork wontons. The vegetables mixed in are extremely fresh and the sauce is delicious. I like this dish a lot although the wontons are these flat things that are a little bit strange to me and I would prefer the more robust ones I have had at other restaurants. The young chow fried rice is a huge hit for me as it is not only delicious but a huge quantity is packed into the container. Mixed into the rice, our combination of meat, chicken, and seafood, making this a perfect side dish or even main dish. There are many things in the menu I'd like to try but have not gotten around to yet. Regrettably I forgot to take pictures, but will add them at some point. I cannot comment on the ambience. as I have not been to the restaurant. What I can say, however is the both times that I have ordered the food was delivered quicker than expected. It arrives hot. Perhaps the only complaint that I have and it is not a very big one is that when I do the takeout order I check off the box to include utensils and plates, but neither time were they included. Again, not a big deal, but they should not offer that if they're not going to do it. So overall, I'm rating this specifically as a takeout restaurant as this is the only experience I have with them and as far as that goes, they are at the top of my list. read more

The sweet and sour pork was average but not exceptional as it was obvious that pork was prepared ahead of time and re-fried making the dough hard rather than crispy. Pleasantly surprised that there was no extra charge for hot tea & won ton soup. But the Singapore noodles were great and what we are accustomed too in a Cantonese Chinese Restaurant. What happened here?? I've been getting takeout from this restaurant since I was in college in 2015 and this was the first time I did not enjoy a single item from my order. We always order chicken wings, general tso's chicken, and crab rangoons. They have definitely changed cooks in the back or something. The chicken wings weren't too bad but were not as flavorful as I recall. The general tso's chicken was mid, made from dark meat chicken and more breading than chicken. The crab rangoons went straight to the trash as they lacked any flavor, cream cheese and imitation krab. They used to fill them up with a tasty cream cheese and krab filling and were folded into triangles. This time they were dry and a different shape (which probably attributed to the lack of filling as it probably escaped through from the folding). We also ordered a chicken lo mein, only one size apparently? Super oily, weird taste, and barely any sauce. Safe to say, I will not be coming back. Nothing like getting food from a favorite place you have patronized for a long time only to be met with disappointments. At $55 for that order, I expected more.. read more

This is canton lee on Miller Road and 138th street. I have visited this place in person and also have had it delivered ten miles away. This is an authentic family owned and operated business. The food is delicious, plentiful and offered at a great value. The people that work there are amazing and make you feel like family. The wonton soup is reminiscent of the past with ham and chives. The egg rolls are crunchy and stuffed with vegetables, the fried rice is full of ham, egg, shrimp, chicken and veggies. The dumplings are amazing. The fried wontons are addicting. We have had their honey chicken and sweet and sour chicken and both are fresh and delicious. Did I mention that their portions are outrageous. They even pour out if the containers. I had to lower my stars from my previous review because unfortunately both times recently that I ordered seafood dishes from here they've shorted me quite a bit. Ordering the black bean scallops I might have gotten about six small scallops not jumbo ones and everything else was vegetables. In my last ordered I ordered the steamed fish fillet with ginger and scallions. I received three tiny fillets of fish. The food is still really good but just keep in mind if you're going to order seafood it will not be a lot of food. Both dishes were almost $20 each. Pre-pandemic (what feels like a million years ago), I fell in love with the salt and pepper tofu at Chang's Chinese. When they temporarily closed, I searched other Chinese restaurants and found that not many offer this on their menus... but Canton Lee does! I placed a to-go order via the Yelp/Grubhub app and the order was ready when I arrived. I also noted that the door was left open (less things to touch) and they built a plexiglass fortress around the cash register and reception area, with just a small opening to be able to grab your food and go. As we all figure out our eating strategies for the next month or more, I think it is important to not only support local restaurants but also praise the ones that take extra measures to keep everyone safe. So, bravo Canton Lee! On to the food. For $35 I have leftovers to eat all week! While the salt and pepper tofu was not as good as Chang's, I appreciated the effort and enjoyed that it seemed to be coated in a light tempura batter which adds a different texture than the one at Chang's. I was also excited that they offered shumai and shrimp dumplings on their menu, since you usually only find those at Japanese establishments. I enjoyed both. Finally, I got the Sweet and Sour Chicken Combo Platter which came with an egg roll, wonton soup, and pork fried rice. This was pretty standard fare, what you would expect from a Chinese restaurant in South Florida. But overall, I think this is a great restaurant, especially the prices, and I hope they continue to stay open! read more

The best of the best Chinese food!!! Their delivery service is the quickest I've ever had. And the good thing is that they do their own delivery versus going through a 3rd party delivery service. The food was delivered as though it just came out straight from the pots and pans that the food was cooked on. Not overly salty as most Chinese restaurants are. Tons of food for the amount spent. I swear we had leftover Chinese for at least 3 days! But also we exaggerated with our order (THAT'S MY BAD!!! LOL) Pepper & salt squid is officially my new menu item. Never tried it before this day. Also, the jumbo house fried rice feeds a minimum of 5 ppl. Biggest order of rice I've ever received. Overall the delivery was speedy with no issues and the driver was super nice. My husband and I have been to this restaurant 3 times now and every time, it is a solid experience. The owner is very friendly and accommodating, and the establishment is very clean. We have ordered the beef and veggies, veggie soup, Happy Family, sweet and sour chicken and fried rice. The veggies are perfectly crisp, the beef is rich and tender and everything comes in a very tasty sauce. On our last two visits I have asked for my food to be made with less sodium and they made that adjustment for me. This place is now our local go to place for Chinese food. read more
