First time here as recommended by Arizona locals. The food was delicious. The burgers were all cooked just the way we ordered it. The toppings were plentiful and flavorful. We wanted to try a few different things and got the classic diner burger, chinese chicken salad, Mac n cheese, sweet potato fries and their special dessert of the month. The burger was juicy and had enough bun to meat ratio. It was cooked perfectly as well (no hockey pucks wanted around here). The chinese chicken salad was fresh and delicious. The sides of Mac n cheese was perfectly cheesey goodness and those sweet potato fries had a delicious yogurt sauce with them. So good! We came here for lunch yesterday for the first time in at least a year. Bar seating was wide open since they had just opened at 11am. Service provided by Garret was excellent. Always good to see a friendly and familiar face. Chopped wedge salad is amazing, especially with extra dressing on the side and fresh ground pepper. It was decent, but unimpressive. I did like that they weren't super stingy with the avocado. But it's super messy, fyi. I came here during Restaurant Week (and because I could walk here too) and I ordered the California Bowl, sweet potato fries (that I shared) and banana cream pie (shared), and a glass of red wine (but ended up giving most of that to my hubby). To start, the California Bowl was actually quite good. Maybe I didn't read the description well, but I was surprised when I was ordering that she asked how I'd like it cooked... well, what? Oh, there's a meat patty in this. Again, pleasantly surprised, and I'd definitely eat it again. However, the sweet potato fries were lacking in flavor and the banana cream pie was just good, not great. The restaurant week menu is set, so I could not substitute a sangria (during happy hour) for the red wine, which was the same price, but I get it--the menu is the menu for restaurant week. The service was a little lacking. We lost our waitress for a long time after she said that she'd be back with the pie. Even had to ask a passing waiter where she was or where the pie was after a long wait. She did apologize, and I get that they are obviously understaffed. Let's just say best burgers by far! I wished we had this restaurant in Southern Cali, Orange County to be exact. The bf, his daughter and I were starving and wanted burgers. My bf looked on Yelp and found this place. We arrived during dinner time 5pm they were busy so we had a choice sit at the bar or wait 45 minutes for table. We sat at the bar lol, the waiters were all very nice, friendly and helpful. They have happy hour here from 3-6pm. Our burgers were delicious and juicy very flavorful! Fun atmosphere! This place is definitely coming across as a very fancy burger place. We enjoyed a couple of burgers as well as some of the zucchini fries. I would say the zucchini fries were pretty good. You get a decent amount and they definitely feel worth the price. My burger, which had jalapenos on it, was good but it was a very messy burger. It did not quite come across that professional. But it was very flavorful so I want to make sure they get points for that. We had great service and I feel like we were definitely getting a gourmet burger treatment for the most part. Ok so updating my review from a few weeks ago. I kinda laid into them with my last review due to the service and food. Ultimately they missed the mark that time. Little did I know shortly after posting the review I got an email from corporate and yelp message from the manager letting me know how sorry they were and that the experience I had was not acceptable. It was crazy how fast they responded! They offered to make it right and we went back in today. Our server was great and service was a 10 out of 10. Valerie the manager stopped by a few times to check in on us which was nice, seemed like she was checking on everyone which was also nice to see. It was a night and day difference from a few weeks ago. The service was spot on and the food was absolutely delicious! This is the Zinburger that we have been accustomed to and what kept us going back time and time again. We were regulars there with the usual great food and service until the last experience. So glad that was just an anomaly as the family and I hated the thought of not dining there any more. Huge kudos to Josh in corporate and Valerie the manager for being all over the situation and for getting us to come back in and give them another chance. This one is back on the list and looking forward to dining here again, maybe even in the next couple of days. read more

We usually love coming to zinburger and absolutely love the bar staff! Unfortunately, this time was an unusually disappointing experience. We arrived looking for bar seats and were happy to find two open seats next to each other, even though they hadn't been bussed yet. That was not a problem whatsoever for us. However, there were menus still present (one of them happening to be a happy hour menu), so we began to look at them. For reference, we sat down around 6:30pm. As I picked up the happy hour menu and began reading it, the bartender immediately snatched the menu out of my hands and said "happy hour has been over". She did not greet us or introduce herself- she just pulled the menu out of my hands. I was very taken back by the lack of hospitality, as I had not experienced anything like this at zinburger before. Trying to move past this strange interaction, we politely asked if she could turn on the nba finals game. She then told us that it was only playing on YouTube tv, and that they did not have access to the game. We knew this to be incorrect, as it was playing on espn/abc and playing at nearby restaurants. Although she did offer to turn on the channel if we could find it, her insincerity led us to decide to take our business elsewhere. As we began to leave our seats, I saw her look at us and say "well, okay then". I would have given one star had it not been for the other bartenders at zinburger who are absolutely stellar and consistently deliver excellent service. I hope that this interaction is not the new standard, as I specifically come here for the hospitality and experience. read more

Went here for lunch on a weekday. There was no wait and I was seated right away. The atmosphere was bright and airy thanks to the large windows that did an excellent job of letting the Arizona sun shine through. My server, Lauren was kind and attentive. I ordered the classic diner cheeseburger with an extra patty and a side of onion rings with ranch. The burger was good enough to warrant the $13 price tag. The bun was soft on the inside, but delightfully crispy underneath - offering a nice textural contrast with the rest of the burger. The toppings were all carefully considered and well placed - so even though the burger itself was hearty and stacked high, it wasn't messy to eat. The cheese was melted to perfection - not oozing, but half-melted either. It was just right. The burger patties were thin and cooked well. I prefer my cheeseburgers with thinner patties, hence my selection. I feel like the additional surface area allows for more char and flavor vs. going with one larger patty. That said, the seasoning was a little heavy for my taste. A pinch or two less salt would have been perfect. Not sure if this is representative of how they typically season their burgers or if cook who prepared mine was just a little heavy handed that day, but that was my experience. The onion rings were crispy and the portion size was generous. I requested ranch as a substitute for the BBQ sauce. The ranch they served was excellent ranch - just the right viscosity and very flavorful. A great companion to the burger. Overall, I'd definitely visit Zinburger again. read more

This is at the mall so lots of parking at the mall. They take reservations on opentable which is easy! We were able to easily find something same day for a party of 4. I'm a huge Fox Restaurant Groups fan so wanted to try Zinburger while I was visiting Scottsdale. It definitely has the same vibe as their other restaurants with consistently good service, nice aesthetic decor, and simple menus that work for groups. Zinburger has a bit more of the gastro-pub feel than an upscale burger bar. They have a mix of tables and bar height tables and have tv's with the current games on. I got the truffle melt special and enjoyed it! It was a great mix of flavors and not too greasy or heavy. You do have to order fries and things on the side, so our table split fries and zucchini fries which were both good (but not standout). We also got a cookies and cream milkshake which was good (I like milkshakes a little thicker but personal preference). Overall I thought the place was cute, food was good, and everything about the restaurant is easy and simple. Wouldn't go out of my way to stop by if I only had 24 hours in Scottsdale, but I'd definitely come back if someone else wanted to go! read more

I ordered the Burger of the month which was the Brooklyn Burger it came with pepperoni, tomato marmalade, roasted peppers, onion, lettuce, smoked mozzarella, and mayo. I'll keep saying this, because I'm a spicy girl, I added some roasted jalapenos. The jalapenos gave the burger a nice spicy kick. My server provided top tier service with her commentary, expertise on items on the menu and very accommodating with food modifications requests. It was a nice day so I opted to sit in the patio area. At the end of your meal, treat yourself to a hefty slab of chocolate cream or banana cream pie. Their bar is stellar and the Cherry Ginger Mule is my absolute favorite. Three of us went to grab dinner here on a weeknight. Even though there were plenty of tables open, we were first offered a table just outside of the kitchen. Fortunately the hostess allowed us to choose a different table away from the noise and chaos of the kitchen. Our server was great and she brought our drinks out quickly (she was also good with refills when we needed them). And our food came out quickly which was appreciated. We had 3 burgers and they were fine, prepared as we ordered. My issue was the "large" order of fries. It didn't even fill the basket halfway and they throw the ketchup cup in the basket so it takes up room too that should have fries in that space. There were maybe 1 and 1/2 potatoes in there. Sides like this are super cheap so I don't understand why a restaurant would be stingy with them. Also something strange happened. The fire alarm started going off during dinner. No one bothered to come by and explain what was happening or why. Everyone just kept doing what they were doing. We were surprised to see a fire truck outside when we left. For $56 + tip, we won't be choosing Zin again soon. You really need to have a blanket on the floor at my feet on the blanket that she spent a couple minutes digging to settle her self don't care. read more

So I returned to this spot, thanks to Jake, and this time I tried a Turkey burger. I'm still not the biggest fan of the flavor profiles of the burgers here, to be honest! But it is hard to compare a Turkey burger to a normal beef burger. The Turkey burger was a bit bland too, but I'm not sure if it's because it's Turkey or from the toppings or from lack of seasoning. BUT THE FRIES AND SAUCES ARE TO DIE FOR! We got lots of extra sauce with our fries and used it all up. I just wish they had more "fancy" burger options with cooler flavor profiles and topping combinations. Half of the options aren't even burgers; they're chicken or tuekey or a bowl. Out of the beef burger options, most are plain toppings. I really miss the BRUCE LEE BURGER from a few years back. It was one of my faves burgers anywhere. Unfortunately, doing a build your own burger here is a bit too pricy compared to other establishments, so I won't be doing that. I'll definitely return just for wings and fries. I love the green chili fries and the sauce on it, it's the best sauce ever. I also love the double truffle fries and the sweet potato fries. Always nice and crispy. The price fixe menu was a bargain for two that comes with choice of alcoholic beverage (Pinot, white wine or a red sangria), choice or side, choice of entree and dessert to share. There was a short wait on a Friday evening due to covid and by regulation the restaurants must operate at 50% capacity which makes seating limited. While waiting we saw the hostess spray down the menus, which is a first I've seen from dining out and was nice to see. He had a chicken burger, I chose the zinburger, we shared a side of delicious sweet potato fries and topped off our evening with a banana cream pie. I came here during the COVID ordeal so this review is for a takeout order. There was a $28 burger deal that consisted of two burgers of your choosing, a mixed bag of fries (onion rings, sweet potato fries, and crinkle-cut fries), and a wedge salad. I also ordered the 'Double Truffle Fries'. I went for the El Diablo Burger and the Crispy West Chicken as my burger choices. Burgers: What to say. The El Diablo had amazing flavors. The burger was nicely cooked and the bun was nice and toasty. However, it was incredibly messy and sloppy to eat. It might be designed this way but there was no way to eat this without the entire burger dissembling itself. The chicken burger was the better burger. However, the chicken was definitely not straight out of the fryer. Perhaps it was baked? Who knows. Fries: The bag of mixed fries were good, of course. I was disappointed that they left out the crinkle-cut fries and replaced them with plain regular fries. Maybe they ran out of crinkle? Who knows. The Double Truffle Fries were a huge disappointment. They were served to us in this small wax bag which probably contained about 15 fries. The truffle was very mute and the parmesan cheese was plentiful. It should definitely be renamed to Double Parm Fries! They would probably consider another way to package these fries for the price they charge and to keep the truffle scent in. We decided to eat here during restaurant week. We were able to get reservations for 6:30 pm on a Wednesday. It was a really hot day and so we really appreciated the misters that kept the outside patio quite pleasantly cool. We ordered the sweet potato fries (to share) and then I had the Zinburger (rare-yummy) and the banana cream pie to share. I also ordered the red wine to go with it and I also shared my wife's wine as well. It was a very pleasant cabernet sauvignon. I was not impressed with the sweet potato fries as they had almost no flavor. The banana creme pie was good. My hamburger was the best part of the meal. Parking here is really easy. It doesn't matter if you park in the front or the back, you will only have a minute's walk to the restaurant. If you arrive early, you can always window shop in the mall area. Our waitress was very personable and started out efficiently and with a smile. Unfortunately, during the meal she seemed to vanish into thin air, and we had to find another waiter in order to get our dessert. I understand that they are understaffed so this can happen.
