This place is a nice Korean restaurant in Murray Hills, near the LIRR. Lots of authentic dishes. Appetizers like seafood pancakes, bibimbap stone plate, japchae, shorts ribs... Tasty tofu stews with a large variety of ingredients one can choose from. Seafood, beef, vegetables; different types of noodle or rice; broth spice level.... Lunch specials are available too. Shaved ice desserts. When in doubt, you can go for the boxes that have a little bit of everything. Service was a little slow, due to the minimal staff but friendly manager. Parking was hard to find, useless you got one for the few parking spots in the front. Open pretty late. Definitely one of my go to places.
Super cozy and accommodating setting. The food was hot and absolutely delicious! Felt super yummy, but not heavy and it was well balanced.
3.5 stars for the overall tasty food and hospitality. Walking in, some of the online pics didn't seem to match what we saw but I'm guessing either management changed or decor changed. The interior is simple, very typical of an old Korean noodle shop or casual fast food; decorated with wooden dining tables and partitions. The dividers lend more privacy for a conversation setting. We ordered the grilled octopus, seafood pancake (we asked for no shrimp due to my allergy) and started with a rolled omelette for an appetizer. Everything was plated simply and no frills. The ban chan offered was quite delicious. This style of kimchi was not too spicy and it was basically cut cabbage but for once, I was able to eat most of it. So I'm guessing for those looking for the spicy kimchi, this one is mild. The cucumbers were the best. Refreshing and pickled nicely with the bean curd skin. While we ordered the grilled octopus, it didn't quite seem grilled enough, both in taste or color. Very tender so we still enjoyed it, just wished it had some char. The rolled omelette was really good - had that home made touch. And it had good seasoning. I think my favorite dish though, was the seafood pancake. I I've never had it with that crisp edge and semi even golden pan fried appearance. It was one of the better seafood pancakes I've ever had. And I really appreciate that they accomodated my shrimp allergy. Many restaurants must have the batter pre-mixed and don't leave out the shrimp but they did. I also ordered a white grape soju but I didn't care for it much. I normally equate white grape juice to a sweet flavor profile and despite knowing the brand, It still tasted like cough medicine. I'll skip for next time and stick with the more classic flavors like peach or citrus. I would like to return to try some of their meat dishes but just to get a fair sampling of the menu. They offer bimbimbap, tofu stew and bento box entrees so I know I didn't get to try everything.
Ziggle Tofu & Grill is one of my favorite spots to get soondubu in Queens. Sundubu-jjigae is a soft tofu stew, filled with silky tofu, vegetables, and optional meat, all in a spicy broth served in a clay pot. I usually get the seafood stew and Ben opts for the beef stew. It's hot, hearty, comforting, and delicious. The tofu is silky and soft which gives the dish a little bit of a creamy texture, and a whole lot of jiggle. I like to get mine mild, so that I can taste every flavor. We also ordered beef short ribs and beef bulgogi with our soondubu dishes. Love the beef short ribs (galbi)! For appetizers, I always go for their seafood pancake - one of the best appetizers here. One of my favorite parts of my meal at Ziggle is that they have a mango shaved ice on their menu. It's a really fun dessert where you smash the white chocolate mango shell that's filled with mango purée. It's refreshing, and is paired with walnuts! Ziggle Tofu & Grill (149-06 41st Ave, Flushing, NY 11355) Open daily 11am-3am
The Beef Soondubu Jigae was filling, perfect for chillier weather when paired with the hot tea. The service was great; the staff was friendly and attentive. On a weekday afternoon, it wasn't too loud, which made this spot perfect for a comforting meal.
Came here because it was open late night around 1230am ! Place is very clean and spacious! I was impressed by the banchan they serve you with the meal. It consisted of the following: Potato salad, bamboo shoots, cucumber, fish cakes & Kimchi! I also got a side of steamed egg. I could've made all that into a meal in itself. I ordered the tofu ramen with beef & kimchi. It didn't look appetizing or filling but I was wrong! The bowl depth is crazy and everything just worked. Tofu was silky, kimchi and beef was enough, ramen was al dente ! I left stuffed and happy. Curious about the other dishes here! TIL next time!
Ziggle is always a good spot to choose whenever I want korean food and do not want to go all the way to northern. This convenient location is right across from the Murray Hill train station. The restaurant is not overly big but also not too crowded when I have been there. The wait staff is pretty attentive and very accommodating. Dining with a child can be difficult and such a mess but they were so nice and helpful. They served us all with hot tea but gave my babe a straw cup with ice water. They start you off with a small tray of banchan like spicy pickles, potato salad, marinated tofu skins and kimchi. We like the soondoobu tofu soup here which can be so warm and comforting especially in the winter. The tofu is so soft and silky and the broth very flavorful. The seafood pancake was thick, crispy and chock full of big pieces of shrimp, squid and other seafood and perfect to soak up any alcohol haze. The seafood noodles were generous that we could not finish it. The galbi short ribs were tasty and tender. We also like the ziggle box meal. The bulgogi or spicy squid are solid choices and comes with egg drop soup, rice, garden salad, omelette, scoop of potato salad, japchae glass noodles, tempura shrimp and perfectly fried dumpling and eggplant tempura. A tiny taste of everything to satisfy your FOMO. They also have bingsu shaved ice now so no need to even find another place for dessert. Love this place for a casual night out with friends, good food and perfect portions leaving you full out into the night.
TLDR: Ziggle is a local restaurant in the Murray Hill area that specializes in soondubu. Good spot for a late night meal, they're open until 3am. Kimchi beef, yook jeon are the way to go. With BCD gone, Queens has been looking for a soondubu spot. Ziggle has filled that void and is great for a late night meal. The soondubu is a bit more chunky than BCD's - good to get a combo as well. The soondubu can get quite spicy if you ask for the max, so be careful. The gentleman who works the late night shift is very generous with the banchan and nice to talk with.
The 11am - 4pm lunch special is one of the best Korean lunch specials in Flushing. Some prices look a bit hefty, but you can actually share most of them with your SO, which I recommend, otherwise you would be stuffed. Just take a look at the most recent lunch special menus in the pics section along with doing a key word search of the reviews. Today, I went with the $8.95 soon tubu jigae (with pork) special. You choose between beef, pork, seafood or, I believe, dumpling...you also choose the spice level. It comes boiling hot along with a whole egg. The bonchon comprised of mashed potato salad, marinated mild radish, tofu skin, cucumber kimchi and bokchoy kimchi...all were excellent. Were it not for the 2 beers, the total would have been less than $10 (and I believe a little cheaper if you pay in cash). Winter's coming, get ready for the hot stews! Oh, btw, if you order dishes from the main menu, then you will get a complimentary steamed egg (been here for dinner before).
I enjoy coming here. They have good Korean tofu soup. This place is good if you are also looking to come late night. Wait staff in late nights can be very lite, so the wait can be a bit longer if there are multiple customers. The place is spacious and you won't feel like you on top of each other. I do come here often and the food in general is very good. They have some good combos and prices are fare.
Came here hungry and left happily overfilled! My friend and I shared the Squid Combo with Kimchi Beef Tofu, Seafood Pancake, Japchae, and Egg Stew. Everything was delicious, but the Japchae and Egg Stew were the real winners for me. Also, the cucumber banchan was amazing. The seasoning was perfect--not too salty--and the food felt very comforting and warm. Great spot for a hearty meal.
This restaurant is located on 41st Ave and 149th St, where many restaurants are located. There is both residential parking and meter parking available, along with the Murray Hill LIRR nearby. I've been here a few times now as it is conveniently located near me, and it is a solid place to get your Soondubu (tofu soup) fix. Inside, the restaurant is clean and does not look run down. My most recent visit was with my family, and one of the items I ordered was the Bibimnaengmyeon. It was nicely flavored, with a mix of sweetness and spicyness. The most important thing was that the noodles were not dry, which is sometimes a problem at other restaurants. For the soondubu, I chose the beef soondubu and chose the extra spicy option. You can also make it into a combo, which is what I did. The kalbi combined with the soondubu makes an excellent pair! As I frequently compare the flavor of the tofu soup to the more known restaurant that has been closed for a while, I think this restaurant is a good alternative. At the end of your soondubu meal, remember that you can make your own Nuringji (scorched rice with hot tea/water). You can ask the staff to pour the water in for you when you're ready. From their banchans, the spicy cucumbers were definitely a favorite. We kept asking for more refills! Staff at this restaurant are courteous and are able to help you if you need something.

AMAZING!!! without a doubt my favorite soondubu restaurant. I always order the beef soondubu (hot). It is priced around $14-15 and is extremely worth because you get lots of DELICIOUS side dishes and a steamed egg. the steamed egg is always made perfectly!! I have been to Ziggle a countless number of times and have even got my friends/family hooked:) it also closes at 3AM so it is great for late night munchies read more

My Korean friend who grew up around Flushing swears by this place, and now it's my go-to for soondubu and other korean eats. While it's not SUPER cheap, it won't break your wallet either and they do a pretty good pajeon (seafood pancake) and the rabeokki is yummy too, with a good amount of heat. I love that they give you so much banchan in the beginning, including steamed egg which is my favorite and most places don't give it. Ask to add some perilla powder to the soondubu for an extra boost of umami! read more

If BCD is your standard, Ziggle is so much more flavorful and better! I would definitely come back. Though it is difficult to find parking in the area, it is worth it. First, their side dishes are all delicious. Especially when a restaurant gives you complimentary steamed egg, you know they're doing something right. The kimchi is so fresh and crisp. Perfect balance between salt and sourness and spice. The fish cakes are flavorful snd chewy. The bean sprouts have a good sesame oil seasoning. My friends and I ordered the army stew and various soondobu (aka tofu stews). You can't go wrong with ordering anything from here. We also tried the cold noodles with the spicy sauce. It tastes chewy and kind of like a sweet Thai chili sauce. It is worth trying! All stews get rice and an egg to go with it. The seafood pancake was crispy and didn't need any sauce to dip. It was delicious as it and tons of seafood/squ I'd highly recommend anything from here. read more
Ziggle... what a cute name for a Korean restaurant. A little zig... a lot of fresh food and flavor. As usual, we were given an assortment of banchan and barley tea, which was served in mugs with handles. The steamed egg is perfect. To share, we ordered a seafood pancake, which was crispy and savory with medium-sized chunks of seafood in it. I ordered my usual bibimbap on hot stone, and it was above my expectations. All the veggies were very fresh and colorful, the rice was plump and steamed but still nicely toasted on the bottom with the crunchy layer. The plate was hot but not splattering. The service here is very very friendly and available, even though there are only a few staff. They even provided the appropriate take out containers to pack our leftovers, including the appropriately sized bags. There is enough seating for small groups and having great conversation with friends or family. Come for great comfort food and great service! read more
Ziggle is an underrated korean restaurant with hard working employees. I loved the staples of banchon (the little plates of appetizers they give you) and seafood pancakes were some of the best I've had in Flushing. My friend hit the mango dessert open too hard, so the ice cream kinda oozed out, but it was a great place to relax and catch up with friends. Give this place a try, you won't regret it. read more
Went there yesterday during lunch time. They have a lunch special going on for $8.99 + tax and the portions and quality are no different from if you go at any other time which is great. After two weeks of extreme heat yesterday was a really cool nice day so I felt like having me some Soondooboo and it was an excellent choice once again. read more
Wanted to see if the 5 star rating is real or hype since it's rare to see this for a restaurant. Well it's definitely deserving of it and not hype. The dining experience was pleasant and you see the pride the restaurant has in their service. First you are met with a very friendly host/owner at the door when asked to see our vaccination record. The staff is lean with only 3 people beside the kitchen staff - owner, server and busboy. When it came to ordering, the owner was very helpful. Once the food came out, he came over to suggest how to eat the food for the full experience. He even told us when to use the spoon in addition to the chopsticks to make sure you get to eat every bite from the plate. The spoon is not only for eating the soup. Regarding the food: We ordered grilled whole octopus, japchae noodles, cheese lapokki, and kimchi pancakes for appetizers. All were very tasty. I liked the noodles and pancakes which were not very greasy. I especially liked the lapokki. The cheese was just enough to blend in with the sauce to coat the rice cakes, baby dumplings, and noodles to give it a flavorful treat. Our entrees were bibimbaps and tofu stews. The bibimbaps were served on a hot stone plate and were a good size. This was when the owner came by to show us that we should also use the spoon in addition to the chopsticks to consume the dish. The tofu were served based on the level of spiciness desired in hot stone bowls which kept the food nice and hot. All in all everyone enjoyed the dining experience here and feel that it does deserve the high ratings. The staff is friendly and takes pride in their work/service. The food is tasty and a good serving size. I highly suggest giving this place a try! read more
Great late night hangout with excellent food that opens till 3am! The service is attentive. The place is no fill and old, but clean with thoughtful simplicity (for example, the extra bowls and utensils for us to share the ice were chilled and aesthetically pleasing). Since it was a late night snack run, we only had a grilled fish and it tasted fresh and nicely done. Then we topped it off with a very special ice. Will be back for sure! read more
Outstanding service by the older gentleman. Kept running around by himself very loud and social juggling all the customers. I don't see that at other Korean restaurants. Food tasted a lot better than I expected. Was very hot , careful not to burn your tongue or hands. Reccomend read more

I had another excellent meal. We ordered the lunch special with the beef short ribs and a spicy tofu stew. They were delicious and enough to feed the two of us. Can't wait to go back and try the spicy squid. read more
We discovered this place on the way to Mapo BBQ. The outdoor seating decor is amazing! They have a Christmas tree with a cute lil Santa climbing up & down the ladder. Anyway, for Banchan, they gave regular Kimchi, Cucumber Kimchi, sweet Pickled Radish & Japchae. The Cabbage Kimchi is standard. We loved the Cucumber Kimchi! We werent really a fan of the Radish as it was too sweet. The Japchae was too salty but bland otherwise. I've noticed Japchae is like this at other restaurants too. My friend got the Spicy Squid which was hella spicy for me but it was hella good! You know when food is so good you're crying & sniffling but you cant stop eating cuz its so good? That wuda been me if my stomach could handle it. But alas, gastritis, reflux, enteritis & Gerd wont let me enjoy burning a hole in my whole digestive system. Anyway, I got Sundubu Jjigae, which is my usual Korean meal, esp in the winter. Any kinda soup is like a warm, comforting, hug on a cold day. But Sundubu Jjigae is 1 of my fave Korean Soul Foods! It literally comforts not only my body but my soul as well. Anyway, I asked for mild & it wasnt spicy at all. They provided a raw egg which I added & my Sundubu Jjigae ended up tasting like Ramen soup with a fresh egg in it! 1 of the reasons I love getting Sundubu Jjigae is some restaurants like this 1 provide my beloved Egg Souffle with it. Honestly, if I could marry Korean food, I would. read more
I've only really tried one item on the menu here, but it keeps me coming back. I feel like this place is somehow related to so kong dong. I think this used to be so kong dong and either they changed their name or this is some sort of spin off. I could be wrong, but the soon doo boo tastes very similar to so kong dong. Anyway the soon doo boo is very good. Fresh, hot, steaming with a few banchan. I usually get the beef soon doo boo, but I have tried the dumpling version, as well. The dumpling wasn't as good as the beef, in my opinion, but I don't think you could go wrong with any flavor here. The food comes out fast and the service is attentive. read more

Came looking for SGD Tofu and found that they changed their name to "Ziggle". Strange name for Tofu, but I guess you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Thankfully, the menu is more or less the same as the owner and staff are the same. They did a makeover to the restaurant as the outdoor tent is enclosed to deal with the colder weather. The inside was also redesigned to create small private "rooms" which is great for Pandemic dining. The food on the other hand was great comfort food as before, with steamed egg and tofu on a cold day. Yum. read more

Old fashion korean restaurant owned by local. I enjoyed their bon chon- side dishes. I'm a sucker for the steamed egg...my favorite. The fish tofu was tasty along with the potatoe salad. Their bimbimbap served in a stone griddle was delicious! There's a nice variety of soon tofu dishes and you can pick from different levels if spiciness. Service is excellent..they top of your tea and are always checking in with the table read more
Came here with my family and it was such a good value restaurant! I regret not knowing this spot earlier. I definitely recommend their combo options (which comes with a stir fry / BBQ + tofu stew). They're around $30, and come with a huge side of rice which tasted fresh and was cooked in a clay pot (see photo). I ordered two combos for 3 people and it was more than enough to split. Side dishes were also pretty good, and they give us a side of steamed egg too. The service was good. Maybe the only thing I would complain about is their restroom cleanliness, which I never expect much from in Asian restaurants . The squid stir fry was also greasier than I would have liked. Place is also cash ONLY (or maybe it was specific to the day we went), so be prepared if you go! read more

Perfect, quiet place to dine with your family and friends. We came on a weekend for dinner and it wasn't too crowded. There were plenty of seating for my family of 6. As always, there is a nice spread of appetizers. Everything was delicious and refills are complementary. My favorite is the fish tofu. Seafood pancake wasn't as crispy as I liked it to be. 7/10 Stone plate rice was a bit of a let down. If you're a seafood person, you'll love it but it wasn't my cup of tea. It was my grandpa's favorite though. 9/10 Tofu stews were tasty and hot. I am extremely picky about soup bases and these definitely passed the vibe check. I highly recommend. 10/10 Beef short ribs were to die for! It's perfectly marinated; not too sweet. It was nice and tender but not too soft to the point it lost its texture. I also highly recommend. 10/10 Spicy pork bulgogi was a bit on the drier side. The flavors are really tasty but I personally would not order pork. 9/10 Overall: 9/10 read more

The menu stayed mostly the same with fair pricing since the SGD Tofu House replacement. They even kept SGD's complimentary side dishes. Soondubu was great as I remembered from the last time I visited when SGD was still around. Just wished that the rice that came with it wasn't so sticky and mushy. Seafood pancake was soft and fluffy like bread but still flavorful compared to the ones I have tried from other restaurants. My friends and I dined in on a Thursday evening and they accepted card payments but with fee. Be wary that the initial receipt does not mention any card fees nor did the worker that took the card tell us about it. The card fee will be reflected in the receipt after they have swiped your card. Not a large fee but still... a heads up would be nice. read more

Came here for late night eats. The food was pretty pricy for quality. Service was fast although his English isn't great. Pancakes were good. Short ribs were tender. Overall a decent meal just pricey. Will be back if I need late night korean food. 4.0/5.0 star experience Tip: don't over order read more

Best Korean tofu stew place I have ever been to. Excellent service and food. After signing out of work at midnight I craved a hearty meal and this was one of the few Korean tofu stew places still open. There's plenty of street parking around the area at night, I am not sure about how the parking is during the day time. The food was to die for. Ziggle serves complementary small appetizers that are full of flavor. Our server made sure to tell us that the small appetizers were refillable too. The potato salad and fish tofu were my favorite. I ended up ordering a seafood pancake along with my tofu stew. Both were extremely good and the portions were huge. You can tell they didn't skimp on the ingredients. TLDR: Perfect hearty meal after a long day. Excellent service. Will definitely come back. read more

Review on service not food: If I can give 0 stars, I absolutely would. I ordered 5 items for dinner and only received 3. When I called to ask if perhaps the delivery was misplaced, they claimed I only ordered 4 so was only missing one dish. They keep claiming I was the one in the wrong. The guy on the phone kept telling me he was the manager and "not to worry" which makes me very worried. He said he needed to clarify with the kitchen and would call me back. I had to call them back and he still had no answer and said I was only missing 1 item out of 4. After arguing back and forth he told me to call back in 2 days to request a refund on the missing dish. Let's see what ends up happening. On another note: what did arrive was shocking. My first reaction to opening up my bibimbop was "where is the rest of it?" So now I am basically missing 2.5 items from my order. What is my family supposed to eat tonight? read more

Can't say enough how much my husband and I love this place!! We found Ziggle in the middle of the quarantine and we come by almost every weekend for outdoor dinning just to get out of the house. The service here is so good. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. The side dishes are delicious and the server would refill any dishes you like more of. Having the steamed egg at some Korean restaurants in flushing is a battle because they require you to order certain dishes. But at Ziggle We get a steamed egg every time no matter what we order. The Tofu stew is so delicious and you can choose so many different ingredients with different levels of spicy. My favorites are kimchi beef and beef intestines. Japchae and Tteok-bokki (spicy rice cakes) are our usual orders. So happy to hear that they recently opened up another location in Sunnyside. Glad they made through the pandemic and doing well! read more
Ziggle Ziggle Ziggle - What an incredibly fun name to say! : ) Don't let the name fool you, they may zig and zag, but they execute just as well as anybody. This entire area is bustling with amazing hidden Korean mom and pop gems and Ziggle is definitely one of them. Every time we pass by Ziggle during prime dinner time, they are always popping! The music and the crowd and energy is always there so we HAD to come back and try it sometime. Just means they are definitely doing something right and boy, they did NOT disappoint. If I had to describe them quickly, they're like a BCD Tofu House but with more combination offers and delicious options. They have amazing flavors and everything tastes so authentic and delicious. Atmosphere: They have a really rustic outdoor space with string lights and it feels more open and spacious. I would recommend going this route as it feels less stuffy and you can sit bigger groups like 6-8. I'm not sure as the colder season arrives if they have heaters but I would assume so. The location has their outdoor space really close with (2) other restaurants so it may be a little confusing, but if you arrive at a narrow corridor, you know you're in the right area. Food: We literally ordered a little of everything. Seafood pancake, tofu soondubu, kalbi, marinated chicken. I believe beer was $5 per and all the alcohol was really reasonably priced. They have some nice sizzling platters which cooks your food as they bring it out. Service: Super friendly and constantly checking up on you. Make sure to get their attention if they get busy so you can get waited on. Just standard Asian culture. Summary: Amazing spot to get some great authentic food. The tofu soondubu is just as good as any other location and they have several protein levels and you can also select your spice level. They have some nice tofu combinations with marinated meats and lots of other authentic korean dishes to choose from. Overall a great Korean dining experience and I'll definitely be back for more! Try this hole in the wall out and you will NOT be disappointed. Fair prices, amazing flavors and Korean food done really well! read more
My friends and I have been trying a lot of new places recently and decided to give this place a visit. We went on a Friday evening for dinner. It wasn't busy so we were seated right away and they have a nice outdoor set up with a makeshift roof with lights and a couple of heaters per table. Whenever I go for Korean food I order sundubu jjigae. I thought Ziggle's sundubu was good, but nothing super special in my opinion. My friends and I also ordered the special spicy chicken stir fry to share which was really big. It tasted alright, but I wished it had cheese on it. The reason I gave 4 stars is mainly for the banchan. I thought the kimchi and others were good, but I really loved the cucumbers. It reminded me of a Korean style bar I used to go to in Houston and brought back some memories. Overall Ziggle was a nice experience, my friends and I had the whole outside dining area for ourselves which was nice. Food was good and priced as expected. One thing though was that soju was pretty expensive here I believe. read more
