Lentil soup

2026 May 10: 1) red lentil soup 2) chicken kebab rice and salad 3) slow roasted lamb rice and salad 4) mint lemonade The lamb is extremely good! Chicken is also very fragrant.

Cozy spot for Palestinian eats on Beacon Main Street, portions are decently large -- would recommend family style! The restaurant isn't super large, would recommend putting name down and walking around. Labne, Baba Ganoush, Halloumi and Falafel were clear standouts, everything baseline delicious.

A great spot after a nearby hike. Super flavorful and satisfying. Still thinking about these crispy, well-seasoned za'tar fries! Anything with Lamb is going to be flavorful! We absolute cleared it! Seating is a bit limited, nut the outdoor options aren't too bad if warm outside!

Delicious food! We tried the fries, lentil soup, and wraps. All were fresh and satisfying. If you are looking for excellent food and service, this place is worth stopping at. Prices are reasonable as well. If you sit outside, you get a nice view of the mountains!

From the top, lamb/beef Shawarma, Bamia- Okra Stew, & Falafel w/House Hummus.

I've had better... The space -What looked like the potential to be a hidden gem was just OK. The space is very small, seating maybe 10-12 people total. The food-I already knew what I wanted, falafel, hummus, shawarma & okra stew. The falafel was dense in my opinion, the hummus was average, the okra was good but not great, I liked the flavor of the beef/lamb shawarma but my husband commented it was dry. The rice had cinnamon in it, & at first I didn't mind it but later it seemed to overwhelm the dishes. As far as the presentation everything looked great. Service- There was one person seating, taking orders & manning the register. He was looking on his phone a couple times which isn't a huge deal but when we wanted to order & check out we had to physically go & get him. There are some amazing places in NY to get Lebanese/middle eastern food, this place unfortunately is not one of them.

My partner and I journeyed to Beacon from the city for a day trip! Of course we had to enjoy a meal before we left! We heard good things about Ziatun, and since it was off-peak dining hours, we wanted to take our chances given Ziatun is a popular spot. Thankfully a table was open indoors as soon as we arrived! It is a small space with limited tables (even more limited as it gets colder out, since they had some tables outdoors). There were two staff members running the front of house, and were SUPER efficient that I was in awe! We ordered the - Addas soup (red lentil soup) - Falafel mezze - Chicken Shwarma wrap - Kofta burger with za'atar fries We were STUFFED by the end of our meal, but we have no regrets! The soup was delicious and perfect for a brisk fall day. The falafel had a crispy exterior and a good appetizer. Our entrees came out quickly after the apps. My boyfriend enjoyed his burger which came with a TON of fries, so both of us shared those throughout the night. The za'atar fries had a lot of seasoning. I loved my chicken schwarma wrap. The wrap stayed hot the entire meal, which I appreciated. The chicken was seasoned so well, and loved the pickled turnips and pickles in the wrap as well, giving some crunch and vinegar taste that balanced out the rest of the wrap flavors. Despite the restaurant being packed at only 4pm on a Sunday, the staff did an excellent job as they were super friendly, efficient, and attentive to all their customers. Loved my experience dining here!

Really enjoyed my experience here. The staff were friendly and did a good job of managing busy restaurant, which was packed the entire time we were there. The atmosphere is cozy- you feel like you're being welcomed into someone's home. The food was great- well-seasoned and very filling. Recommend: Kofta Burger, Chicken Shawarma Wrap, Falafel, Addas (Lentil) Soup

Food 8/10 It was a 50 minutes wait but in the meantime, we got to explore the town. When we finally got seated, we ordered the chicken shawarma and kofta burger. The chicken shawarma had a nice char, was tender, and tasted so good with hummus and bita. The kofta burger was also quite delicious, their fries had a seasoning that made me actually want to eat fries. Atmosphere 6/10 It felt a bit stuffy inside, but it was also raining that day. The bathroom was too small :( Service 6/10 I know it was only two guys handling all the servers, so totally understand that that was the reason it was a bit slow. They seemed so stressed out so kudos to them for running a restaurant :(

Shawarma with baba ghanouj as base

Went here after a fall festivities day and was in a waitlist for around 45mins. During that time we explored Beacon area. The restaurant sent us a text and when we arrived there was a table waiting for us. the service was awesome very kind and laid back The ambiance is quite cozy and a bit cramped spaces but it works nonetheless. it was nice interior and allure to it. good vibes for sure! For food, we got Mansef and Shawarma with Baba Ganoush as the base. The Mansef was chicken (they ran out of lamb). It was deliciously seasoned and very warm perfect for the season. The shawarma on the other hand was stone cold on the baba ghanoush which was a disappointment. i've had this dish many times before and the protein is usually sizzling hot. it was not that good. At the end we got Black tea and Herbal Mint tea. the black tea was lukewarm while the mint tea was on point. i've had better (kanye shrug) 7/10 B rating

All the food we got

Do not get shawarma - they served some diced meat marinade in Lemmon and pan fried , not shawarma at all , - server did offered different dish but we were not hungry or wanted to try something else as we got full of the appetizer that came with small difrent dips .It was good , a lot of difrent salads , and mint tea had mint , loved it , very cute little place- Come for the appetizers , mint lemonade was very lemony - if you like lots of lemon sour flavor I would highly recommend it

Consider this a review of the now two times I've been to Ziatun!! I was shocked to see that I did not review them when I first went to visit with my partner back in June. This recent time I went I grabbed the Vegan Shawarma wrap, which was incredibly rich with flavor! We drove about an hour to have dinner here and it was so worth it! I ordered some Palestinian Lemon Lime soda this time and that was quite good! If you're from the city like I am and visiting the Beacon area, I would very highly recommend this spot!

Some of the best food I've had in a while. Awesome gluten free and vegetarian options. The fries are seasoned to perfection and not greasy at all. The seasonings and dips are amazing. I love the decor and the music. The staff is super nice and helpful with ordering. Their wait system is super efficient as well. I'm glad they're keeping busy and filling diners with amazing food. I wish I lived closer.

It's counter service and there was already a bit of a line when we arrived around 7:15am (why were so many people already up and about?! lol). We loved that they had a great variety of options, including many vegetarian options. I went with the egg & cheese sandwich and accidentally ordered it without the greens & sauce (whoops!). However, it was still delicious and satisfying. My husband got the avocado toast which was SUPER filling due to the hummus that was on it. He was only able to finish half of it. We also got a side order of fruit which, to my delight, was a bowl of berries! The fruit is seasonal so the combination might be different depending on what time of year you are visiting. Also, both of our coffees met our standards, which are a bit high these days. So kudos to them on that! The ambiance was absolutely incredible!!! Very well lit with a bright, welcoming atmosphere. We sat near the back of the restaurant (away from all windows), however we still felt like we were being flooded with sunlight. It was wonderful! Definitely recommend coming here to grab breakfast while visiting Beacon!

I also got their pumpkin spice latte. My boyfriend got one of their specials, which was Shakshouka, a poached egg dish in a pepper sauce that was served with bread for dipping. Both dishes were so flavorful! We really enjoyed them. You could also tell they made their own pumpkin syrup for the latte. It tasted so good and not overly sweet at all. Highly recommend!

They are crazy popular, so there was already a line outside when we arrive 5 minutes before opening on a sunny summer Sunday morning. Wow! That's always a good sign. We waited in line for about 25 minutes total, which wasn't terrible. They have sooo many choices, and we ended up choosing the Strawberry Crumb Cake and the Old Fashioned Chocolate Crumb. The Strawberry one was fluffy and had a jam filling, which was deliciously fruity. The chocolate one was absolutely incredible!! It was a classic "cake donut", meaning that it was super dense in texture. It reminded me of a brownie, however not too overwhelming chocolatey. Even though they say they're open until 3pm, they are clear about being open "until sold out". I asked the guy behind the counter and he said that they will often sell out by 1-2pm in the summer. By 12pm they typically have very limited options left. He also mentioned that the line will often start forming around 9am, a full hour before the place opens. I find that to be a bit extreme... There's very little seating inside (just two small tables), so I highly recommend that you take your donuts to go. If it's a nice day out, walk around the corner and grab a seat at a picnic table! Lastly, they have a huge "WARNING: FOOD ALLERGY" sign on their door that I highly recommend you read if you have any type of food allergies. I like that they're up front about it and suggest you not consume their donuts if you have specific types of allergies. If you're in town visiting, it's definitely worth giving this place a try!

Great service and friendly staff at this Sri Lankan restaurant…read more The manager/owner used to be a chef at the UN after traveling the world for various stints after leaving Sri Lanka at age 25. He will fill you with his wealth of knowledge of Sri Lankan food as well as how his food is pure and wholesome. Food was very good. I had Sri Lankan rice entree specialty dish. Except for the the shrimp tasting like dried shrimp - which I hate with a passion the rest of the dish was pretty good. No complaints from my other guests who enjoyed their meals. The dessert was great. They have both vegetarian (including goat, beef, pork, shrimp, squid, and chicken) and non-vegetarian options. It fell short of five stars for two reasons: 1. the dried shrimp or dried fish taste in the dish (shimp, calamari, and chicken); and 2. the moderately high prices (I can only compare to prices at Indian restaurants in the city, and what people are typically paying for the same portion size at casual sit down restaurants) Since we don't frequent this location often it is a treat to stop by every once in awhile and introduce my friends to it. If you are on a budget and consume large volumes of food to be full, this is most likely a one off or a place you may want to skip. Otherwise, enjoy it. On premise parking lot and seems ADA compliant. It looks like it is in a house, but inside it is comfortable and casual. It appears there is allot more local customers than visitors from out of town. The interior plays tourist information on Sri Lanka while the interior is also decorated in culturally appropriate ascents. We were there on a Saturday for dinner and the space was fairly empty - perhaps two other tables occupied. It is in sort of a remote area outside the main drag of Beacon most are familiar with (not within reasonable walking distance). It's worth a try, especially if you are interested in healthier forms of food (ingredients).

There were only 5 different food stalls plus the ice cream stall in the very front, however only 3 of the food stalls were open at 7pm on a Saturday. This is a small town, so I get it, but I was thoroughly surprised at this because of how crowded the entire town had been all weekend (it was truly the perfect weather to be out here!). The taco food stall had some Mac and cheese that I really wanted, but he was so overwhelmed with making a large order with only one person helping him that he literally told me to come back in 30 minutes to place my order. I ended up ordering the Pimento Grilled Cheese Sandwich from the burger place, where the guy (working solo) told me it would take about 30 minutes before it would be ready. We were in no rush, and it was DEFINITELY worth the wait!! The ooey gooey cheese paired with perfectly browned Texas toast satisfied my hunger after a long day of hiking and window shopping. My husband ordered the Paneer Kati Roll + Mango Lassi from the Indian food stall. He liked the roll, however we both decided that the lassi was average at best. Additionally, they served it with ice which was a huge disappointment (**being that my husband is from India, we have standards regarding Indian food). I'm giving 4 stars because the overall atmosphere of this food hall was not the best... Definitely NOT enough seating... They didn't seem to have anyone on staff taking care of the place, so the two tables that were empty when we arrived were extremely dirty (we cleaned one ourselves). They also didn't have napkins readily available and only 2 individual restrooms, despite having a bar in the back. Also, it was SO DARK inside... Scarce lighting which was not very pleasant or welcoming, especially since the sun was shining brightly outside. There is an outdoor patio, which is great, however because the weather was nice it was completely full. Final thoughts: this is a great place to grab lunch or dinner with a group of friends, especially if no one can agree on where to go. There's a variety of options and something for everyone to enjoy!

On a trip to Colorado, Kihlmire visited a shop that featured an abundance of books and records. He came up with an idea to open a similar shop that would also feature craft beer. Kihlmire initially opened The Vinyl Room by himself in Wappingers Falls. In addition to beer, records, and video games, customers could also enjoy pizza by ordering it through a special window that connected to the Wagon Wheel next door. Although the concept was well-received, the small space and constraints from the landlord limited the full potential of the business. In July 2021, it moved to a new space at 344 Main Street in Beacon. Customers could order food from Roma Nova across the street. Unfortunately, the space was still too small and the owners received numerous noise complaints from apartment tenants upstairs. In August 2023, The Vinyl Room moved down the street to 393 Main Street to their third (and hopefully forever) location. For the latest version of the business, childhood friend Kane Licari came on board as a partner. This also marks the first time that The Vinyl Room features a kitchen with their own food. The menu features burgers, sandwiches, wraps, salads, rice bowls, tacos, wings, and various bar bites. In addition to craft beer, the bar also serves wine, craft cocktails, and mocktails. I recently visited The Vinyl Room for lunch with my two sons while we were visiting Beacon. Any place that features craft beer, records, and classic arcade cabinets sounds like Heaven to someone like me. I really liked the whole vibe of the interior with the industrial design and all of the pop culture and music references. My sons and I grabbed a booth and looked over the menu. For food, I had the "Crunchy Chicken Bowl" (sushi rice, pickled onions, avocado, arugula, charred corn, chili garlic crunch, creamy garlic sauce), my older son had the "Grilled Cheese" (Vermont white cheddar, havarti, slow roasted onions, roasted garlic butter, sourdough), and my younger son had the "Return of The Mac" (smoked gouda Vermont cheddar cream, buttery breadcrumbs). We were all very happy with our choices! To drink, I had a draught pour of Upward Brewing's "Summer Camp" (Helles Lager). After finishing our delicious meal, I scrolled through the impressive record collection. Then we all headed downstairs to have a blast in the arcade. Before leaving, I enjoyed a pour of Equilibrium Brewery's "Tidal Balance" (Double IPA; collab w/ Sand City Brewing). We all had such a fun experience at The Vinyl Room and we hope to return in the future!
