Chicken Momo - The image shows a white plate with several chicken momos, some steamed and some pan-fried, arranged around a small bowl of dipping sauce. One momos is held with chopsticks, revealing its filling. The momos are served on a plain white plate, with some oil or sauce residue visible on the surface. The scene suggests a meal at a Himalayan restaurant offering traditional dishes.

Decided to update my review, been here numerous times. There are good dishes and not so good dishes and changes which I'm not fond of. One of the best dishes they used to have there were spinach and cheese momos, they got rid of it. That dish was also one of the things that made it unique and better than alot of the momo places i have been to. They have the chicken momos, which are decent, the beef one is meh. They also got rid of the mixed momos option. For the mains: Pad gra prao is decent but too salty, spicy but not too spicy. Chicken with chili, it has good heat, but that's all. The flavor is just weird, the chicken is nice and tender, but the sauce tastes weird as if they put too much corn starch in it and mixed in some weird smoke flavor. Not a fan. Overall: may come back in another year to see if they added the spinach and cheese momos back, at the same time, I'm gonna find a new go to place nearby.

This was my first time having Nepali food and I was not disappointed. Everything was absolutely bussin!!

Chow mein - A metal plate on a wooden table holds stir-fried noodles mixed with ground meat, sliced vegetables, and garnished with chopped green onions. In the background, there is a person in a pink top with a bowl, a small dish, and metal cups on the table, indicating a dining setting.

The food was so fresh especially the noodles. This place was so cute! Service was fast as well.

I was so pleasantly surprised to come across a spot like this in Beacon! I've never tried Himalayan food before, so I was so excited to try it here. I came here on a Friday afternoon for lunch by myself and was able to get a seat right away. I ordered the spicy chicken bowl and loved every bite of it. It was super flavorful, and was exactly what I needed on a cooler day. Whenever I'm back in Beacon, I would definitely come back here to try some other dishes too-because everything looked great!

Momo Valley was the first restaurant I tried at the Hudson Valley Food Hall in Beacon. This is my first visit to their new(ish) location on Main Street. The restaurant wasn't crowded; only a few people were seated at tables. While the location is perfect, the decor and seating arrangements could use some improvement. However, the food never disappoints. My kids enjoyed the Sherpa's Power Bowl with a mango lassie, while my wife and I savored the momo dumplings. I'll definitely be coming back for more.

Small cozy restaurant with attentive staff. We got both the chicken and beef momos to split for our table. The dumpling skin wasn't too thick and the filling was pretty juicy and the meat texture was pretty bouncy, the hallmarks of a good dumpling. i personally got the Everest platter and I must say when it arrived I underestimated the portions and how much it was going to fill be up because it just seemed like a spread of small bites but I was extremely full afterwards. I've never had Nepalese food before and if I can sum it up in my own way it would be like Indian food but less spicy with more Asian influences.

The image shows a white, round plate containing seven steamed momos, a traditional Himalayan dumpling, arranged in a circular pattern around a small bowl of dark, spicy dipping sauce. The momos have a pleated top and a smooth, shiny surface. The plate is placed on a wooden table, with part of a pair of glasses visible at the top right corner. The setting suggests a casual dining environment at Momo Valley in Beacon, NY.

Great spot to try in Beacon! We came here for lunch around 12PM. The service here is fast so everyone is in and out pretty quickly, but the place is definitely busy. We ordered the Everest platter, the Thukpa, and the momos. Everest platter was great to sample everything and it's more food than you'd expect. The thukpa was very flavorful, but definitely on the heavy side. I thought the momos were made REALLY well. The skin was really thin but didn't break and there was a lot of juice inside. I will say that the chive combo isn't my favorite in the beef momos, but they are delicious nonetheless. We definitely left VERY full. 3 dishes is more than enough for 2 people, so i'd almost recommend ordering less (even though everything is delicious) since there are so many small shops and eats to try in Beacon afterwards as we'll! This was my first time trying Nepalese food and it didn't not disappoint. I'd definitely recommend, this place is delicious!

Everest platter and beef dumplings - The image shows a metal platter with a serving of white rice, chicken curry, and vegetable dishes, alongside fresh spinach leaves. A bowl of yellow lentil soup is also present. The meal is set on a wooden table, with additional bowls and utensils nearby, indicating a traditional Indian or South Asian cuisine setting.

Wow wow wow. Momo Valley was incredible! Stopped in here for dinner during a day trip to Beacon, NY with one of my friends. We split the Everest platter, beef dumplings in broth and Thai chicken dish. So much food and so flavorful. I LOVED the dumplings in the broth. Everything was absolutely delicious. It's a small staff and location but the owner was fantastic, sweet and took care of every table. A must try in Beacon!

Absolutely delicious Momo dumplings. i recommend getting steamed instead of pan seared and also get the broth too. I got the dal for the entree but i think the momo were much better i got two orders of momos and plan on coming back to just order a bunch and have a momo day here the service is fantastic! i forgot my bag and they staff came outside to return it to me that's so kind of them the flavors of the dish were authentic and delicious pretty spicy too it's perfection and ambiance is nice and cozy not that loud either. this place is very good and i recommend it A+

Solid place for dinner! The owner and staff are very welcoming and always have good recommendations. This was my first time trying momos and I was pleasantly surprised at how juicy and flavorful they were! One of my favorite dishes is phing sha--a satisfying and cozy bowl of beef stew with potatoes, glass noodles, and wood ear mushrooms. The second time I ordered this however, the beef was super tough and basically inedible.. but everything else we ordered was great. I recommend making a reservation if you can because it does get busy especially at peak dinner time.

I highly highly recommend Momo Valley for amazing homemade Nepalese/Himalayan food! We started with the delicious vegan momo, which are not to be missed. The matcha-infused dough has the perfect bite to it, and the momo were appropriately filled with fresh vegetables. I ordered the vegan platter as my main. I loved the opportunity to try a few different authentic dishes! My favorites were the lentil soup and string beans/potatoes. Please come here when you are in Beacon! I'd recommend making a reservation. I will say the service was a bit slow and the restaurant was kept at a temperature too cold for my liking, but I loved the food so much that I didn't care!

Gundruk ko jhol (fermented leafy green soup) - incredible!

This restaurant is a GEM. The food is amazing and the staff are warm and friendly and clearly take pride in what they do. We were pleasantly surprised by how vegan-friendly they were - including offering vegan chai (chiya) made with oat milk - extremely rare to come by at south Asian restaurants.

Power Bowl with chicken - A large bowl of chicken noodle soup with a red, spicy broth contains noodles, fried chicken pieces, and chopped green onions. Accompanying the bowl are small side dishes, including a bowl of sauce with a spoon and a small dish of pickled vegetables. The setting appears to be a casual dining environment with a wooden table surface.

Inside is cozy, lots of dark wood and colorful flags. They also often have entertainment in the evening, so I would love to return to hear some live music while trying more Nepali cuisine.

There was only one other table dinning when I went with my group of three, I am assuming they probably have a lot of online orders and that is why it took so long for the food to come but it was not just the food! We recently moved closer and I decided to try it for a work at home lunch day. I did no research before going. It turns out that Himalaya does not presently have a dine in option, which is fine because I live nearby. I walked in to look at the menu and order. I'm not sure if the person who helped me was having an off day, or maybe he's used to regular customers ordering ahead and didn't like having to change his routine, but he was not particularly welcoming. No smile or friendly greeting. I'm fairly sure that he rolled his eyes when I went to pay with cash. I don't know who this person was relative to the restaurant, but it didn't set a good tone. I ordered from the Lunch Specials. I ordered the Chicken Saag special which came with Basmati Rice and Naan. I don't remember the exact cost, but I remember being surprised at how inexpensive it was. Everything on the Lunch Special menu was inexpensive relative to places I frequent. I was told that it would be 10 minutes. I returned around 15 minutes later and my order was ready. All of the food was at least OK to pretty good, but didn't really pop for me. I'm much more familiar with Indian restaurants than I am with Nepalese and Himalayan restaurants, but some of the dishes share names. I'm not sure if there are seasoning and other variations in Indian versus Nepalese cuisine, or if any variations are more based upon the chefs cooking the meals. In any event, Himalaya's version of both the Saag and the chicken in the Saag were different than I'm used to. I prefer the way the Saag is seasoned in my favorite Indian places in CT. I feel like the chicken in most Indian restaurants is kebab style and is cooked in a tandoori oven. Himalaya's chicken had a rougher texture and seemed like it was perhaps roasted. It was pretty good, but probably my least favorite Saag dish I've had in a while. The Basmati rice was fine. The naan was OK. The texture and flavor didn't measure up to my favorite Indian restaurants. I have multiple nearby Indian restaurants that I prefer to Himalaya. In light of that and my less than positive service experience, I'm unlikely to return to Himalaya. However, given Himalaya's strong overall rating, it's clear that others have had good experiences and maybe you'll have better luck than I did. And as I said, the lunch specials are a good value. 3 Stars
