The owner Simon was very accommodating , lovely, and made me feel like family. As soon as I finished ordering , he offered me a free side. The spicy mushroom side was so delicious! I also noticed he greeted all people coming in with kindness, charisma and free samples, which I loved. I sat down and waited for my food to come out. I got up to ask if they have any hot tea, he said yes and recommended the cardamom tea . The tea was perfect beautiful delicious! Never had cardamom tea before. I came from New York on a day trip and stumbled upon a true gem. I never had Lebanese food before and I am so glad I came here. I was treated like an actual princess. Food was so flavorful , delicious, full of love and flavors!!! The falafel was crunchy and so so so so good. Everything on the table was fresh!!! Simon would come to my table and give me free samples of their desserts. I was just so overjoyed with the whole experience! I couldn't leave without buying hummus and a seven bean salad as well as some cookies. The restaurant was beautiful and filled with life and colors. Thank you Simon for having me , you are amazing and your team is too! I will definitely be back and I recommend everyone from all parts of the globe to come here.

For the price and flavor it was so worth it. I got two meals out of mine. I got the gyro platter and it probably was one of the tastiest meals I've had in a long time. I thought the chicken was seasoned and flavorful. But by far, the best part was the white sauce. I would pair it with the mango lassi and it was such a great explosion of flavors - both savory and sweet. I will say they ask whether you're okay with onions and raisins in your platter. I liked them but I know raisins might not be what most people prefer to add to their rice. Service was fast. You can either order at the front table or at your seat. They got the food in a reasonable amount of time. The place looks small from the outside, but when you walk in, there's a back room worth of 30 people worth of seating. It's extremely cozy inside. There's also a parking lot right next to the restaurant and also across the street. The lot right next door is kinda small though, so you might need to loop around. Parking shouldn't be a problem and you can get a really good stop if you're lucky.

I found this place while casually browsing on Yelp and the food is amazing. We tried their spicy hummus with pita. Spicy hummus is too good. And the pita was so soft and fresh. For mains we tried their falafel burger - delicious. The falafel was flavorful and crispy. We also tried their egg and eggplant and it was outstanding. Their pomegranate lemonade is delicious too. Definitely visiting again!!

Saba was a very unexpected experience. I was in the area and just wanted something to…read moreeat--something healthy-ish with vegetables that wouldn't feel too heavy, but still tasty. I was looking at the menu on my way there, and earlier while driving down the street, I noticed people sitting outside. That's when I realized it was open. I was actually walking somewhere else and happened to pass by. I thought, you know what, let me just try it and see what they have. What surprised me was learning it had already been open for five weeks at the time. From the outside, it doesn't do the place justice. It looks cutesy, almost like a pizzeria vibe, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The moment I walked in, the ambience changed everything. Saba is truly an experience--a culinary experience. The designer did an amazing job: spacious seating, plenty of light, greenery touches along the top and borders, and warm colors accented with gold. It feels welcoming and elegant without being over the top. The layout allows for both a casual sit-up space to look outside and a more traditional restaurant setting. Honestly, the interior sets the tone before you even eat. Customer service was absolutely amazing! (It gets better with each visit. Major plus. Some of the best customer service I experienced in the area) I was greeted right away, and the staff went a step further by showing me pictures of menu items. I asked about chicken, and they explained the options and how I could customize them. Those personal touches matter, especially for a newer business--you never know who's walking in, and they made me feel like a valued guest. I ordered the chicken pita. The sauce had a little spice to it, which gave it a nice kick without being overpowering. Everything tasted fresh, which is a huge plus. I also tried the tahini and saba sauces, though they weren't my favorite--I'd probably go with hummus next time. Still, I appreciated the variety. The delivery of the food was excellent as well. I dined in, and I'd definitely recommend sitting inside or outside. Both have ample seating, and they serve you with real, heavy gold utensils, which really adds to the overall experience. It's giving! - especially at a $14 price point for my meal. The experience was uplifting. Whether you're having a good day, bad day, or just an average one, being there feels special. The staff even checked in after I started eating, which I appreciated. Before leaving, I ordered the falafel to go. They came as small bite-sized pieces--slightly oily but still flavorful. I also tried the cookie, and that was truly memorable. It felt like a warm hug from a family member, with that nostalgic taste that takes you back to a comforting place. Overall, I would give Saba a 10 out of 10. It was far more than I expected when I first walked in looking for a simple bite to eat. From the ambience and customer service to the food and little details, it was a full experience. I've been back a few times since and highly recommend it--whether you're a local, visiting, or just passing through Poughkeepsie. It's near Vassar College about 10 mins drive from the walkway over the Hudson and Poughkeepsie train station, and you won't be disappointed.
