I really really want to like this place. I haven't found good halal in the area since I moved here. The owner and his family seem so kind and the food is fresh and made on the spot, but the flavors are just missing. The beef shawarma was under-seasoned and over cooked, and I don't consider ground beef steak shawarma. The white sauce was bland and the gyro was ground up and dry. I'm hoping it will make some tweaks and come back stronger. I'll try the chicken next time and hopefully have a better review read more

So everything is best except " staff should wear the hat/or cover their hair/head while putting food together". It's a big killer if you see hair in your food. Otherwise food is great, quantity is sufficient, interior is better, wearing mask for COVID-19, staff is welcoming and pleasant. Owner may want to take care of my suggestion as above. read more

Tried here for first time. I got the shawarma beef platter, the beef was so flavorful and well seasoned, plus so tender, rice was alright, a lot of flavor, but wish the rice was hotter temp wise. Pita slices were awesome, nice and fresh tasting. Their yummy white sauce was delicious, I appreciated the extra cup of for lettuce and tomato since it jazzy them since there plain on there own. What a great find nestled in this random little strip mall. Not often one finds good Mediterranean cuisine done right but yummy platters has figured it out. Went here to check it out, it is definitely a repurposed Subway but they have done it right. The menu touches all your food from wraps, platters and the random wings, burgers and chicken fingers for those who don't partake. I went with a gyro meat platter, rice, veggies and white sauce. It was sooooooooooo good! Also I had wings which were good, cooked to crispy state and when I selected hot, that sauce was HOT! Staff was very friendly, use their punch card for a free meal and get yourself down to try this good food out. For this reason I gladly give them 5/5 stars. read more

So turns out Newburgh finally has a stand-alone halal slash shwarma stand-alone building. It's in the plaza across from dairy Queen in the town of Newburgh. Not an extensive menu but definitely well-crafted. The falafel pita wrap is definitely a must try. I would recommend asking them to lay off a little bit of the onion but that's really my preference. I also got the mixed grill to go and that was probably enough for two people to share the lamb and the chicken were really well seasoned and the hot sauce comes on the side. Just a fair warning this is just meant to be flavorful it's just a kick that makes your scalp sweat kinda hot sauce. The prices are really fair and the place is spacious and really well-kept. The food was really good. My only complaint is the tomatoes were bad within both platters. I really enjoyed everything besides that. I also wish it came with more white sauce. Updating to let this establishment know that when I returned the employees in the front (younger boy looked like he was 18 or 19) seemed like he wasn't there to work. The server needs to know that it won't hurt him to smile. Also a huge disappointment when I took my food home to find out my lamb was cold not as hot and tasty as the first time. Excellent place ! I didn't have a real halal grill since 2008 (when I still worked in new york city). Those street food trucks in the city had real halal there so I didn't know I can find this kind of food anywhere else besides the city. Their chicken and lamb gyro either on a pita bread or on a platter with lettuce, onions and tomato is excellent. So juicy and tasty. And their home made white sauce? Oh my God ! It is non-dairy sauce and you can grab the whole bottle to go (to take home with you for your own home meals) for just $5 ! The hot sauce is little too hot for me but overall very good experience. I be back next time I'm in Newburgh for sure. It's very hard to find real halal grill these days but these Egyptian guys know what they're doing. read more

When you think of Halal you think of something with at least some flavor but unfortunately, yummy platters halal had 0% flavor and was EXTREMELY bland. It was overpriced for bland food. SO and I ordered from here last night. The menu had been hanging up for a while and since I wasn't craving anything in particular, it seemed like a good time to give it a try. We called in the order for pickup since I wanted to see what the establishment looked like inside. Instead of telling us when it would be ready, the guy on the phone asked us when we wanted to pick up since it would only take a minute to put the food together; we said we'd be there in 10. We get there, the place looked great. Brightly lit, clean as a whistle, not much going on inside customer-wise but in all fairness it was a Wednesday night later on in the evening, so I would anticipate more pickup/to go orders than eating in anyways. (Note: If you want to eat in, there is ample room to do so.) We walked in and honestly I instantly started salivating; it smelled so good and I became acutely aware of just how hungry I was. We did end up waiting around 15 minutes or so, despite calling in ahead of time, but the guy behind the counter (owner?) explained that fresh ingredients were being prepped; I'm not going to complain about that one bit and it actually ended up building anticipation for the food even more. The portion sizes are hearty for sure - like, "food coma" status. Post-work out meal: you should be able to finish it all if you believe in yourself hard enough. A normal night with an average appetite: you'll probably have leftovers. Don't worry about ordering extra meat, but do order additional ingredients if you like them (feta, cucumber, falafel, olives, etc). We got the Mixed (chicken and lamb) and Shawerma (beef) platters, falafel, and gyro cheese fries - everything was completely devoured in less than 20 minutes. A few things that I thought were nice: -They have their sauces bottled in a mini fridge by the drink station so you can grab extra cups of it as you see fit. I'm not a hot sauce person but I definitely would grab a few extras of their white sauce next time (because there WILL be a "next time"). -They have a platter "frequent flyer" card - buy so many platters, get one free. Please and thank you! -They cater! Imagine trays upon trays of this stuff?! I grabbed a menu to take to work because you better believe that I'm going to be sending people here. 11/10 - go here.
