Tucked in a strip mall off Vassar Rd (77), is a jewel of Mediterranean restaurant, 3 Olives. We are spoiled in this area with a selection of terrific restaurants...this is one of the best. It's simply appointed, it's the food that's the star! We started with grape leaves, an explosion of spices and flavor. There were more than shown in the photo, I couldn't wait. We followed with Chicken Sambosa in the flakiest of crusts. I had the Chicken Shish Tawook (think Kebab), again beautifully spiced. My husband had the Chicken Sharma Platter. Delicious, but we were filling up so we ended up taking much of it home. We ended the night with the amazing pistachio cake. We both don't like desserts that are too sweet, and this is perfect for us, delicate, dreamy and delicious. We had one there and ordered 2 more to bring our friends. I asked our lovely hostess if it was made in-house, and she said, yes, indeed it was. The bill, including wine and tip, came to $140. We will be back to try other items. Treat yourself and pay this small family-run business a visit. You will not be disappointed! read more

On a recent trip to the Poughkeepsie area, I enjoyed some eats from 3 Olives that I ordered for delivery (which can conveniently be accomplished right through the Yelp app). I ordered their falafel sandwich with fries and an order of their baklava. The falafel sandwich was served on pita and was generous with falafel and tahini. So often I order falafel sandwiches and they kinda difficult to eat. Not so, here. It was served and presented perfectly. The fries were bountiful. I would probably only recommend ordering the fries for delivery if you can eat them straight away as they can get cold quickly (and who wants microwaved fries?). The baklava was dreamy and the entire order was perfectly packaged for delivery. Can't speak to dining in but for pickup or delivery--this place is top notch! read more

This is a small place with maybe 8 tables or so, and a bar area. Quiet and tastefully decorated, so you can talk. Plenty of close parking. Went for lunch and had a good time. Food was delicious and plentiful. The service was good too.The waitress even helped us with paying online. read more

We got take out from this restaurant for the first time. It was a little slow to pick up but seems like they hadn't been open that long so it's ok. I enjoyed my wrap and everyone else liked their meals too. The cake in the end was a tasty dessert. Food was incredible! Even the hummus was so special. Silky, smooth, and luscious mouth feel, beautifully seasoned and enriched with a lovely olive oil paired with crispy fresh vegetables. Cannot recommend enough! We shared the mixed grill platter. Perfect for two. The meats were nicely seasoned and tender, falling off the bone. It was a spur of the moment luncheon choice, what a great find! The service was as attentive as the food, friendly, accommodating absolutely lovely. Such a unique restaurant for the Poughkeepsie area, familiar flavors with different twists. Have recommended to multiple people who were not disappointed. Will be back! read more

This place just opened up, I believe previously it was a Japanese restaurant. But I like this place a lotttt better! The decor is cute; they're from Egypt :) the service was good but we were the only ones there and they only had one lady working, I'm guessing one of the owners. The food is the best. One of the best Mediterranean food in the area tbh. Good portions and good prices! They home make EVERYTHING! The pita bread is the best I've ever had and ordered 2 more baskets, they were only a dollar for every basket!! Hummus was delicious the zaatar fries well seasoned and the meats were well cooked and seasoned. The desserts all home made. The drinks all freshly made. I tried 2 of their drinks bc it was so fresh and delicious omg. The only complain is the atmosphere. The music was exactly what they play at foot spas and it was on super low and kept turning off so even though my friend and I were speaking softly, it sounded like we were being so loud. And it was kinda cold in there too lol. I would come back, probably mostly for take out but will def be returning numerous times. read more

service was so slow and disorganized, waitress disappeared for 30 minutes. Ordered chicken wings and 5 small wings for 15 bucks please tell the customers that you only get 5 wings or add that to your menu. that was embarrassing you got a lot more at other restaurants for less money. Food was not hot all and the gyro platter came with 3 strips of meat and stale rice , the meat has to be frozen since they were cut exactly the length and witdh. read more

Disclaimer that the food deserves 4 stars but the deduction to a 3 stars review is due to extremely slow service on a Friday night with only 1 server. We were excited to find this new restaurant and wanted to try it out. The interior is nicely decorated and feels authentic. We were seated right away as there were still some open tables. It's not too big inside, maybe 10 tables or so. Then the waiting game begins. It took the server a while to come and take the drink orders. They don't have any alcoholic beverages, but does have lassi! We ordered strawberry and mango, delicious (came to the table 45 min after we ordered). We also had the beef shawarma platter, kafta kebab dinner, za'atar fries, and a cup of the lentil soup. No complaints on the food, everything was yummy. The lentil soup had a curry kick to it which I really enjoyed. The meats all had great seasoning too. It took the server over 15 minutes to come back to get our food order and another 45 minutes for the food to be brought out. We waited over an hour from sitting to eating... With 2 kids, that was hard. I do feel bad for the server... We were nice about the wait and didn't say anything. But at one point, she said to us "I'm sorry for the wait, I'm doing the best I can". I feel for her, one person to handle the whole restaurant is not an easy feat! If they can add another wait staff during peak time, that should alleviate the wait. We may come back again, but perhaps not with kids. Haha. read more

It was our first time to visit. 7 of us just went for appetizers early evening. It is a clean place. Jinesh was very helpful. We had humus, baba ganush, fry's, tandoori wings, chicken & lamb Kebabs. Best part - the Pita bread is freshly baked and it was just delicious! We kept ordering more and more! Humus and baba Ganush was very fresh and tasty! Definitely to go for 2nd time. Fry's were very crispy as it is supposed to be. Generous portion. Tandoori wings were very good but not spicy enough. Wish they would offer boneless wings soon. Chicken shish kebabs were very juicy and tasty. It is a steal for the price!! I would order more spicy option next time. Lamb kebab's were ok - it was not hot enough. Overall, it is great addition to Dutchess county. Place is clean. Owners are very approachable!! Best part it is not expensive and portions are generous! P.S. The food was delicious. I recommend the Gyro wrap with grilled beef and tzatziki sauce.

I would give it zeros if possible. Food portions are child size and very expensive. Got a Greek salad which came in a plate fit for a child and it cost $14. Also ordered some calamari, which cost $15 and consisted of about 10 little round pieces of calamari on top of some scattered lettuce pieces, and no accompanying sauce to dip them in. Don't understand the rave reviews at all. The host/server didn't even come around to ask how everything was; meanwhile, the whole restaurant was empty during lunchtime. Had to track him down to get the check. I had a $5 coupon that I gave him. About 10 minutes passed and still no check. How hard is it to subtract 5 bucks?! I had to flag him down and ask him how long before I get the check. He brought it over and didn't even say a thank you or anything, so I left the money on the table and made my exit. What a waste of money and time. That guy needs lessons in customer service! read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place! We had a group of 8, and we were craving Mediterranean. Chose this place because of the reasonable prices, and it was the BEST decision! The food is fresh and authentic and amazing! Even the plating and presentation was beautiful. The service was excellent, we were waited on by the chef himself. And they were generous enough to let us sample their desserts which by the way are fantastic! (I recommend the Kunafa) over all you can tell the owners put a lot of care and passion into their business. This place just opened up - it is a great addition to the area! Delicious appetizers, as well as kebabs, shwarma and gyros! We had the Cold Moussaka appetizer with their delectable homemade pita. Then, we had a chicken kebab and a lamb kebab - both with hearty salads, although you can get rice instead. Lovely Egyptian decor and the management and wait staff were amazing. Service with a smile! We had planned on going there earlier, but changed our minds when we found out that they don't have a liquor license. But on a nasty, rainy day, we decided to order take out. Their website has an app to order. So, I went through the process of adding our order to the cart and submitting our order. I was not prompted to pay but was given and order number. I figured that it would take a while, so I ran an errand prior to going to pick up. But when I walked in, the hostess told me that they app doesn't work and that I would have to give her my order. I started to give her my order, again, and the first thing I ordered she said they couldn't make. I had to choose something else. I placed my order but now had to wait for it to be prepared. No one else was there, or came in. The food was ready fairly quickly. And it tasted that way. I was not impressed. Seemed to be slapped together without much effort.
