Met a couple of friends here for lunch. Not going to fault Aba's for lack of parking, but just know that it is right in the village of Rhinebeck and parking is tight on busy and holiday weekends. Aba's falafel is a charming little storefront, and it's very cute inside. They do not have a lot of seating, so this might not be the right place for you if you are having a big group or want to sit down at a busy time. The service was prompt, but I didn't find it super friendly. It was busy and they seemed more interested in moving the line along than taking the time to help each individual. The food is good. Nice selection of sauces on the side to complement your meal. I would go back for the food, but I would not have a group lunch there.

I haven't been to Rhinebeck in years but enjoyed walking around in early April. Lots of restaurants with delicious smells wafting outdoors. Aba's was no exception. I saw someone enjoying a delicious smelling soup outside and went in. They offer variations around falafel (sandwiches and platters) two daily soups, baklava for dessert and non alcoholic beverages. They offer homemade sauces and fresh hot pepper if you'd like to add more spice to your life. The place was packed inside. It's tiny in there and there's also some outdoor seating. It's more a take out place unless you come early and snag a seat. My falafel platter was super fresh and delicious- from the freshly fried falafel, salad, cabbage, tahini and pillowy pita. The prices are great-$16.50 for my falafel platter. They only make falafel and a handful of other food but what they offer is top notch. I could go on and on about how fantastic the food was. Service was friendly and efficient.

If I could give this place 100 stars I would. Every single thing is delicious. The falafels must be magic because they are the lightest and moistest anywhere. The salads are SUPER fresh (even in winter) and dressing is light and flavorful but so so delicious. The hummus is the best anywhere. It's perfect actually. My hubby got the Sabeech which has slices of potato and eggplant in the mango dressing. He orders this dish EVERY TIME! The pita is the best. Warm and fluffy and full of joy. The eat-in part is small and chilly due to the door being opened for patrons. The service is "cafeteria" style. The servers plate out nice portions with a smile. Great job Aba

Yum Yum! High-quality ingredients in a quaint small shop! The employees at Aba's seem to genuinely enjoy working there and interacting with their patrons. You order at the counter and can see all the ingredients and employees assembling the sandwiches. We really enjoyed our falafel sandwiches and the overall eco-friendliness of the place!

I was really excited to try this place after reading all the fantastic reviews, but I wasn't super excited about my recent experience here. I felt that the pita was a bit crunchy which did not seem super fresh to me. I'm used to a soft chewy pita bread. The falafel was okay, but didn't taste warm and freshly made. The service was friendly and timely, but it just seemed like everything was premade and had been sitting around. They have table seating, bar seats by the window and two tables outside.

We recently had lunch in Rhinebeck, but my husband was determined to try Aba's. After eating a modestly sized lunch elsewhere, we walked around and managed to get here right as they were closing, although they were polite enough to serve us. My husband got a falafel pita and I stupidly just got a few falafel. The falafel itself was probably the best I've ever had; they were incredibly flavorful, not dry at all, and with a bit of crunch. My husband's falafel pita was divine. The falafel combined with everything inside and the sauces made me fairly jealous that I did not get one myself. The food was delicious and we appreciated the service and this will be our go to spot for this kind of food.

This is my favorite dive in Rhinebeck - all vegetarian and all delicious! This time we came at the busiest hour - lunch rush on Easter weekend, and the line was super long out its door. But the atmosphere behind the counter (where they take your order and assemble the food) remained calm, orderly and efficient. Every customer was greeted with friendly smiles, thoughtful questions and speedy service. I ordered my usual falafel pita, plus the roasted pepper and artichoke soup, while my husband tried their sabeech pita. It's a miracle how much food they skillfully stuff into a pita pouch - I would have torn it or dropped the content - making one's meal a great value. The soup was amazing, and the sandwiches were heavenly! There aren't many such fast yet gourmet eateries in Rhinebeck, and this one is a must try!

Visiting family in the area and we decided to give Aba's a shot since the Yelp reviews were stellar. We had and combination plate - everything was great. The falafel was fresh, crispy and flavorful. We sampled all of the sauces and didn't taste one we didn't like! Outdoor seating has heaters and there's seating on the side too which we didn't realize until we were leaving. It was good, above average falafel. The packaging was all environmentally friendly for the most part.

This is definitely a must visit in Rhinebeck. I cant recommend this place more. Falafal, pita, hummus everything is so fresh and tasty. Place is providing best Falafal in town or may be in new england.

Update: We went back almost immediately because we couldn't stop talking about the first meal, and…read moresomehow it was every bit as amazing. The lamb shank was absurdly tender, the baba ganoush was smoky and rich, and yes, the ezme, beets, and pita remain mandatory ordering. But what really sets this place apart is the heart behind it. On a hard night for our family, a simple unexpected dessert brought genuine comfort and a smile when we needed it most. They don't just feed your stomach here. They feed your soul. I would go to war for this restaurant. An absolute gem, genuinely some of the best food I've had in the area!! I don't write glowing reviews lightly, but this place absolutely earned one. From the moment the food hit the table, it was obvious this was something special. Every single thing we ordered, from the mezze sampler to the drinks to dessert, felt like the best version of itself it could possibly be. Not one weak note. Even the pita bread was memorable. Warm, soft, fresh, lightly charred, and worthy of praise in a meal FULL of standout dishes. The mezze sampler was EXTRAORDINARY. The beet and goat cheese was one of those bites that makes you stop mid-conversation. The goat cheese was fresh, creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced by roasted beets that were unbelievably sweet and luscious. Honestly, they were almost candy-like. I don't know what they did to prepare them, but they were incredible. The spicy vegetable dip, Esme, was bright, vibrant, and bursting with flavor. Fresh, zippy, and balanced with just enough heat. The eggplant dip was equally impressive, with a silky texture, subtle tartness, mellow tomato notes, and that gentle pleasant bitterness that makes eggplant so satisfying when it's done well. The hummus was ridiculously creamy and rich with tahini, giving it a deep nutty flavor that made it one of the best hummus dishes I've personally had. We also ordered the Turkish manti, and they were fantastic. Little handmade parcels topped with cool yogurt and warm spiced oil that brought everything together beautifully. We didn't even manage to take a picture because by that point we were so completely absorbed in the meal that all manners disappeared and we just devoured them immediately. No photo. No pause. Just instinct. That might be the strongest endorsement I can give. The mint lemonade was perfect for a warm day. Bright, refreshing, tart, cooling, and mint-forward without being overly sweet. It tasted clean, balanced, and incredibly refreshing. Dessert completely sealed the deal. The Turkish revani was unbelievably soft, soaked through with milk, and had that luscious almost tres leches quality that makes every bite melt away. The fresh berries and raspberry sauce gave it just enough brightness and acidity to balance the sweetness beautifully. I had a cup of black tea with it, and the combination of cake, berries, and tea was one of those simple little moments that feels kind of magical. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Tasteful decor, warm atmosphere, and thoughtful design that feels welcoming without trying too hard. The service was friendly, attentive, and genuine. More than anything, the whole place feels like a labor of love. What blows my mind most is that this restaurant has apparently been here for over two years, and we somehow only just discovered it. We were legitimately mad at ourselves thinking about how many meals we could have had here already. Now we're just trying to make up for lost time!! For roughly $80 for two before tip, the value was outstanding. At first glance, the menu might look a little upscale, but once the food arrives, it makes perfect sense. The quality more than justifies the price. I've had good Mediterranean food before. This is operating on a completely different level. Without question, this is some of the best Mediterranean food I've had anywhere in the area, and I can't wait to go back.

We didn't have any reservations, and I thought - Why would we? We started with the appetizers, babaganoush and calamari. Both were good. My wife and I had the mixed platter for two. All the meats were tasty, seasoned well and weren't dry. For dessert, I tried the affogato, espresso over ice cream and that hit the spot. Overall, we were impressed.
