Saba was a very unexpected experience. I was in the area and just wanted something to eat--something healthy-ish with vegetables that wouldn't feel too heavy, but still tasty. I was looking at the menu on my way there, and earlier while driving down the street, I noticed people sitting outside. That's when I realized it was open. I was actually walking somewhere else and happened to pass by. I thought, you know what, let me just try it and see what they have. What surprised me was learning it had already been open for five weeks at the time. From the outside, it doesn't do the place justice. It looks cutesy, almost like a pizzeria vibe, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The moment I walked in, the ambience changed everything. Saba is truly an experience--a culinary experience. The designer did an amazing job: spacious seating, plenty of light, greenery touches along the top and borders, and warm colors accented with gold. It feels welcoming and elegant without being over the top. The layout allows for both a casual sit-up space to look outside and a more traditional restaurant setting. Honestly, the interior sets the tone before you even eat. Customer service was absolutely amazing! (It gets better with each visit. Major plus. Some of the best customer service I experienced in the area) I was greeted right away, and the staff went a step further by showing me pictures of menu items. I asked about chicken, and they explained the options and how I could customize them. Those personal touches matter, especially for a newer business--you never know who's walking in, and they made me feel like a valued guest. I ordered the chicken pita. The sauce had a little spice to it, which gave it a nice kick without being overpowering. Everything tasted fresh, which is a huge plus. I also tried the tahini and saba sauces, though they weren't my favorite--I'd probably go with hummus next time. Still, I appreciated the variety. The delivery of the food was excellent as well. I dined in, and I'd definitely recommend sitting inside or outside. Both have ample seating, and they serve you with real, heavy gold utensils, which really adds to the overall experience. It's giving! - especially at a $14 price point for my meal. The experience was uplifting. Whether you're having a good day, bad day, or just an average one, being there feels special. The staff even checked in after I started eating, which I appreciated. Before leaving, I ordered the falafel to go. They came as small bite-sized pieces--slightly oily but still flavorful. I also tried the cookie, and that was truly memorable. It felt like a warm hug from a family member, with that nostalgic taste that takes you back to a comforting place. Overall, I would give Saba a 10 out of 10. It was far more than I expected when I first walked in looking for a simple bite to eat. From the ambience and customer service to the food and little details, it was a full experience. I've been back a few times since and highly recommend it--whether you're a local, visiting, or just passing through Poughkeepsie. It's near Vassar College about 10 mins drive from the walkway over the Hudson and Poughkeepsie train station, and you won't be disappointed.

Saba was a great find, and is a good addition to the Poughkeepsie restaurant scene. It is clean and spacious, with some outdoor seating on Raymond Avenue. Ambience was fun and relaxed. Service was at the front counter, but very friendly and helpful. Menu has a lot on it, but the staff will help you navigate. My friend and I ordered one of the falafel platters, and Fayelle pita. FYI, they charge extra for sauces and we found that we didn't really need any. I thought the food was really good, tasty, and well seasoned. I would recommend this place.

The ambience is nice and somewhat casual. The place is very y clean they have the most quirky beautiful design pieces and plates that are also for sale. The person who took my order was very kind and nice. I saw advertised that they have the best burger around so since I have been craving a really well season burger. And Saba delivered!!!

This place is a MUST TRY! The food is delicious, with so many options. Their burger is wildly flavorful and did not disappoint. Everything we tried was great! The owner is super nice as well and very hands on. Facility is clean and cared after too. Easy parking and located in a super cool multi use complex near Vassar college. All around a little gem that packs a big bite! A+++

$8 piece of farmers cheesecake (very tiny, not worth the price)

Customer service was great. The falafel pita is fresh and delicious, packed with flavor. I asked for extra sauce on the side, didn't realize it would be $2... and they gave me the wrong sauce. Additionally the farmers cheesecake is incredibly small for the price, $8 for a tiny chunk of cake wasn't worth it. Would i go back for the falafel absolutely, just would skip the cheese cake next time.

We started with grape leaves, an explosion of spices and flavor. There were more than shown in the photo, I couldn't wait. We followed with Chicken Sambosa in the flakiest of crusts. I had the Chicken Shish Tawook (think Kebab), again beautifully spiced. My husband had the Chicken Sharma Platter. Delicious, but we were filling up so we ended up taking much of it home. We ended the night with the amazing pistachio cake. We both don't like desserts that are too sweet, and this is perfect for us, delicate, dreamy and delicious. We had one there and ordered 2 more to bring our friends. I asked our lovely hostess if it was made in-house, and she said, yes, indeed it was. The bill, including wine and tip, came to $140. We will be back to try other items. Treat yourself and pay this small family-run business a visit. You will not be disappointed!

I ordered their falafel sandwich with fries and an order of their baklava. The falafel sandwich was served on pita and was generous with falafel and tahini. So often I order falafel sandwiches and they kinda difficult to eat. Not so, here. It was served and presented perfectly. The fries were bountiful. I would probably only recommend ordering the fries for delivery if you can eat them straight away as they can get cold quickly (and who wants microwaved fries?). The baklava was dreamy and the entire order was perfectly packaged for delivery. Can't speak to dining in but for pickup or delivery--this place is top notch!
