I found this still relatively new restaurant ( opened a little over a year apparently) on a whim when I was Google-searching vegetarian restaurants in the area after a Catskills hike trip with my family. I've NEVER had Jamaican food as a vegetarian because usually it's meat-heavy so I was curious. Imagine my surprise when I read their website blurb that its owner used to work as a chef at one of my favorite restaurants in NYC (Gramercy Tavern) to name a few greats. How good could it be?? My taste buds were put to the test. As soon as we stepped into the door, we were warmly greeted by Shereen who was quick to accommodate our seating preference as my mom asked for one of the tables to be arranged differently. The decor and colors of the space itself lent itself to tropical and bright tones-- a calming and cozy vibe. Throughout our meal time there, Shereen and Chef Garfield were personable and checked in on us on how things were, etc. without being intrusive. We were forewarned that they didn't have tofu initially but from the vegan menu, we ordered four dishes and were given spinach patty as a complimentary dish. Spinach patty- warm and lovely, reminded me of empanada.. I'm a sucker for those Curry chickpeas- the chickpeas seemed more on the al dente side and curry was flavorful and strong (tastes like turmeric was in it so make sure you like turmeric), went delicious with rice Oyster mushroom (with rice/peas and with quinoa)- my favorite was the mushroom!! Well seasoned wonder and with quinoa it was the perfect combination texture-wise Vegetable lasagna- Soft layers without being soggy with sauce being on the sweeter side but ingredients all tasted fresh and savory Sorel with ginger- ginger is strong and tastes very sour and healthy, it was refreshing but best to save for when you really need a wake-up call They also give back to the community- be sure to check this restaurant out if you are in the area!! Telling all my foodie friends. :)

Soooooo GOOD, Incredible Jamaican food!!!! Always made to order so it's hot and fresh every time. Such a homie place, feel like an chill island when u step in there and the family who runs the place is so lovely My go to is their Steamed Veg with salt-fish Roti and Fried Whitening with Rice N pees with Steamed Veg. Paired off with Sorrel and Ginger juice My partner gets the brown stew beef with Rice N Pees with steamed Veg. or Shrimp Rasta Paste. Paired with freshly crushed Pineapple Ginger juice. Can't go wrong with this place I usually order lunch and dinner to go that I can't never decide which plate to order

My favorite Jamaican place in Poughkeepsie. Always fresh and delicious. Wide selection of menu items with several vegan options. Only thing to improve is more vegetables like cabbage and callaloo or kale with the entrees. Otherwise, just perfect.

Amazing. Great Caribbean food at great prices. The owner/head chef is knowledgeable and took the time to step out of the kitchen and talk shop with a fellow chef, my husband. Everything is made fresh and the flavors are great. We had fried fish, vegetables and rice with two types of chi ken served with rice and veggies. Take a few meat pies to go. They are so good. Heat them up on 400 for 5 minutes to re-crisp. On a rainy day his oxtail soup will warm you up quick and so will the curried goat. This is a gem of find. We will definitely be back to this local establishment that truly has the island vibe of kindness and hospitality.

The place has two seating arrangements in the periphery and one big community table in the middle that could fit maybe 10 or more. There's also bar style sitting overlooking the pizza makers. Overall, the place is small, but just enough. Take out folks come in to the cashier as well. Getting your pizza will take a while though. This is not your neighborhood pizzeria where you get a premade pizza and slap some toppings and 5 minutes later you got your pie. No folks, this is order pizza and wait about 20+ minutes for my pizza to arrive. I'm sure the take out folks may have something to do with it too. We will definitely be back to try the other creations.

My order was receiving mixed reviews: the salad I got was very small and the bowl did not allow for mixing, so a messy endeavor at best. The staff is really friendly, so the service hits a five. Loss of stars is for the price and the inconsistent quality of the ingredients.

I'm so glad I found this spot--it was exactly what I needed to reset. Food: 4/5 I ordered an ahi tuna poke bowl and a smoothie, and overall, it hit the mark. The tuna wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was still solid--fresh enough and well-balanced with the toppings. The smoothie, though, was delicious. I'd honestly come back just for that alone--it was cooling, clean, and packed with flavor. Atmosphere: 5/5 The interior design here is beautiful--very calm, airy, and just a peaceful place to sit for a bit. It felt like the kind of space where you could relax, journal, or just quietly enjoy a meal without the bustle of a typical café. Really appreciated that. Service & Price: This is more of a counter-service place--order at the front and grab a seat. No complaints there; everything came out pretty quickly and the staff was kind. As far as price goes: yes, it's on the higher end. A bowl + smoothie can easily run you over $30 which feels like a lot when compared to, say, a hearty Italian sandwich around the corner. But I get it--healthy food often just costs more. For me, it was worth it this time around. Overall: If you're in the area and looking to take a break from heavier meals, this is a lovely spot. It's not a cheap bite, but it's fresh, clean, and satisfying. I'll definitely be back for a smoothie if I'm nearby.

We were seated in the back near the pizza oven, which ended up being the best seat in the house because we got to meet Austin. He was absolutely fantastic. The energy, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality he brought to the experience made the evening so special. Mike was our server and he was also wonderful, checking in often and making sure everything was perfect. They had unfortunately run out of chicken parmesan, but instead of simply saying it wasn't available, they made it from scratch just for my husband. It was easily one of the best chicken parmesans we have ever had. The sauce was so incredible that we could not stop talking about it. Austin overheard us and, without us even asking, brought over a full bowl of the sauce so we could dip our pizza crust in it. That level of attention and care is something you rarely see. I ordered the New York style pizza and it was absolutely delicious. They use sourdough and King Arthur's flour, and you can truly taste the difference. The flavor and texture were outstanding. When we finished, they asked if we wanted dessert. We were hesitant because we were already so full, but Austin encouraged us to try their vanilla cheesecake and we are so glad he did. It was honestly some of the best cheesecake we have ever had. Between the phenomenal food, the thoughtful service, and the warm and welcoming atmosphere, this place completely exceeded our expectations. Experiences like this are rare and truly special. We will absolutely be back. Highly recommend!

The views in the Hudson Valley are literally breathtaking from almost every angle of every city. My Wife and I have both had Farmers and Chefs bookmarked in Yelp for quite some time, so finally heading over was so exciting. It was a beautiful day so we headed to the patio. Love the indoor/outdoor bar area. I ordered a dirty martini. Made perfectly. We shared the Farmer's Wings, oysters on a half shell and a mixed green salad with Goat Cheese, soooooo good. My Wife also went with the Salmon & garlic mash served with green beans. Hella Good. Everything was so fresh and tasty. Our server, a very kind gentleman, who's name a cannot remember made our experience even more incredible by going above and beyond to direct the umbrellas just so that the sun wasn't in my Wife's eyes and our view of the walkway wasn't blocked. We sat outside and it was mostly pleasant, aside from some pesky mosquitos -- citronella candles or similar would be helpful to have on the tables. I got the 50/Cut Burger on a bed of mixed greens (no GF bun option), and it was super tasty albeit slightly overcooked. The shoestring fries were also good. The Negroni I ordered had a good balance of flavors but I always prefer a big rock of ice vs. chipped ice, which waters down the drink too fast. But they supplied a legit Luxardo cherry, and that certainly elevated the experience. The service was fast & friendly. I enjoyed it, and would return to try some of the other menu items.
