The food is delicious and tastes authentic, the service is quietly supreme. The ambiance is mellow and the space is exceptionally clean. This is a soothing, clean, sweet little spot right on the Beacon strip. But with five stars on Yelp, I expected to be pretty starry-eyed eating their momos and beef stew and salted tea. We drove all the way from Queens and were anxious to try different food stalls. But Momo Valley was the only food stall open today, a Tuesday. Not sure if the other stalls will be open later in the week. And, a couple of the stalls looked like they were actually shut down. Bummer. The momos, however, did not disappoint. We've tried all kinds of dumplings. But, these were definitely a bit different than their Chinese variety. The skin was a little doughier. And their fillings ranged from yak to spinach and cheese. They were all really tasty, but I especially enjoyed the spinach and cheese. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was their price to portion ratio. These are about NYC prices, but with tiny portions. However, you are getting locally sourced and organic foods, as well as a bit of the exotic. I suppose that's the price. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu. We try to take one day trip per week to an upstate town. And our friends live near the town. To be clear, this is located inside the food hall, which is next door to the dentist office. The only criticism is that the menu board at the food stall is comically complicated. But who cares? The momo's are easy to order a la carte (similar wrapping as Chinese dumplings, but the flavor profiles of the fillings are different). The entrees are available on a rotating basis, apparently. We went to Momo Valley after Storm King and when we got in a big group joined as well. It was a bit noisy in the beginning but the good food compensated for it plenty. I loved the momos the most. Stumbled across this gem on a weekend trip to Beacon. We had just ate some rather bland tacos nearby and were looking for something with a little more kick and this did just the trick. I personally had never tried Himalayan food before, but my girlfriend had so I was excited to see what Momo Valley had to offer. We started out with the dhal bhat with lentil soup, pickled carrots, chicken curry, and tar Kari and the flavors were on point. We also had the yak momo's which were also fire. Sitting on the Hudson River, Beacon is a charming town. Momo Valley is right in downtown Beacon and therefore is a good place to stop even if you're not epicurious. But if you are a gourmand, Nepalese food is very similar to Himalayan good and similar to Indian. read more

Eat here!! Yummy food and friendly staff :) Tucked away in the Hudson Valley Food Hall is Momo Valley. Stopped here for lunch on a sunny Sunday. The food hall wasnt open for indoor dining so I ordered my food and sat in their backyard patio. I imagine it would be pretty nice to sit out there during the evenings when it's not as hot with the string lights turned on. Ordered their assorted momos (spicy), tarkari Everest platter and pickled daikon. Steamed Momos (2 of each) - beef, chicken, spinach and cheese, and veggie. The veggie tasted really fresh and full of various veggies, herbs and spices. The spinach and cheese was very cheese according to mom (cheese is always a good thing though, right??). Didn't try the chicken but mom said it wasn't quite as salty as the others. Beef was good but a little too salty for my tastebuds. Everest Platter - this was really good. I like that there are a variety of items to try. Top left corner - lentil soup - this was my favorite item in the platter. It had a hint of sweetness and helped "reset" the palate after eating the other goodies. Center - fermented and pickled daikon. Top right corner - string beans and potatoes. B right - spinach and brown rice. B left - cauliflower, green peas, edamame, onion in a curry sauce - I love love love cauliflower and onions, especially onions. All in all the vegetarian platter was delicious and i didn't feel it needed meat because there was so much flavor.
