Plan on going to this place when you're not hungry- 30 minutes for a table and 1 hour to get our food. Ordered 3 cups of coffee while waiting, only received 2. Food was mediocre, not worth the wait. 2 waitresses running around while 2 staff members just stood in the back doing nothing but chatting with customers. Sadly, all of these reviews are high because it's the only place in town with nothing else to compare it to. Dripped sweat while waiting at the table too- no ac, just some ceiling fans and a run down wall unit that blows into a customer's back since they have people seated right in front of it. Cozy local cafe for sure and reminds me a lot main st bistro in new platz with menu and vibe. Very kind of lowkey and pick your own seat. The server was really nice and followed up often. So as for food, it's small here so it does take a bit, but I will say the French dipper was great, stuffed steak, gooey cheese and very caramelized onions, the au jus dip was not too salty. I do really enjoy they go a different route with sandwiches here and give a pasta salad and homemade potato chips, rather than just fries. read more

Came here to meet friends for breakfast. Super cute spot. We were greeted right away and sat down. Menu had great options for both breakfast and lunch. We tried the French toast, eggs Benedict and the hungry mf combo. All was delicious. Would highly recommend. We did street parking not sure if they have a parking lot. We also got there as they opened after reading other reviews. When we left around 930 they still had some tables was getting busy. We will def come back again. read more

Fiddlestix has been on my food bucket list for a while. Great ratings from both Yelp and Google. Yesterday, I got to try it w best friend and fellow foodie, Hopaling Casualty. Not an overly large interior, but ample seating for a weekday. One server, young Kaylin, effortlessly handled the hungry patrons. And w a 100-watt smile. HC and I both ordered one of the specials ... blueberry cheesecake pancakes. I am not normally a pancake guy, but these were absolutely insanely incredible. Two large pancakes topped w a dollop of reduced blueberries and powdered sugar. The hit, at least for me, was the gooey cream cheese between the pancakes (with a hint of vanilla, maybe?). Everything blended well and, counting the syrup, put me in a carb coma for several hours. Coffee was excellent, and young Kaylin kept it coming. I gave props to the guy manning the grill. We really enjoyed our breakfast here. My wife got the Challah french toast combo with sausage, eggs and fruit (subbed for home fries). I got the eggs benedict and it was really good. The hollandaise was great as were the home fries. The blueberries were teeny and not good according to my wife, but other than that it was quick and affordable. I love this place so much I found it randomly by chance while having a disaster trip with my boyfriend (everything went wrong). Even though our trip went wrong and we wound up here by accident it was the happiest accident ever. I literally went September 2023 and it is now July 2025 and I still think of this place and try and find reasons to do the 2 1/2 hour drive to get there. read more

The place is small so sometimes there's a wait time, best to go as early as you can. And it's usually cold in there when you go in the winter time. This eclectic cafe was recommended to us by our hotel receptionist. We went on a Friday am for breakfast. By the eye there is nothing special to this place, the food was very good but nothing special, the servers were good but nothing special. But yet this cafe is a special place. The absolute atrocious service and wait time. The place itself is a little quaint restaurant (if you can even call it a restaurant). Seating is very limited due to the size of the place. Service is ridiculous; when we first arrived the only seating area available was the bar which is fine. There was only one waitress who was taking orders, checking out people, dealing with takeout orders and when she wasn't doing something she was busy rolling up utensils. We were seated for a bit waiting for her to come takeout orders - she made us wait a little longer so she can roll up some more utensils which to me was a wtf moment. She should have taken the order first. Her attention or concerned no longer was her job when her crush or ex came in - she was busy chit chatting with him bout a new girl he's dating and who she's dating. Finally placed an order after like 15 minutes; waiting on the food was long as well because there's only one cook taking care of in-house orders and takeouts simultaneously. We actually felt bad for the cook - he looked like he was under so much pressure. When the food finally came out the food was nothing special - mediocre at best. My omelette was a bit burned, bacon was cold bc it was precooked already. Overall the worst restaurant with the worst service ever. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere especially if you have little ones. I would give no stars if I could. read more

Pros: - Good eggs benedict, delicious coffee, side sausage, and homefries. Cons: - Breakfast Burrito was underwhelming and lacked flavor, especially with the wheat wrap. The ratio of ingredients felt off- like way too much egg compared to the beans, avocado, and cheese. - While the first bite was light and fluffy, the blueberry pancakes ate really doughy and heavy afterwards :( Couldn't finish them. read more

A little unasuming cafe on Main St. in Cornwall, NY. My wife and I came in to get a quick bite to eat and found a very interesting menu. My wife had pancakes with 2 over easy( perfectly made) with sausage patty and home fries. You can get this item off any breakfast menu however this meal was delicious. I had a dish called Largely Marge ( I chose that because it was my mother's name. Not the largely but Marge lol) this delicious omelette combined fried chicken, soppresata, spinach and roasted peppers, pesto & tomatoes stuffed with mozzarella sticks. The flavours were poppin. All around great experience, I saw some negative reviews, I can tell you if you go and have to wait a little while for service because the place is packed, well, that means the food is good. Came in for breakfast and thought the food was excellent! It's a small place but doesn't feel crowded. The ambiance is wide open with the cooktop/kitchen visible. The vibe is rock, sports, etc. I had their chicken and waffles which was really good and my wife had one of their combos with eggs, hash browns and French toast. She loved it. Now for the bad stuff. The service was poor. I want to be clear - the staff refills water and coffee regularly, but our meals took nearly 35 minutes to come out after we ordered. That's a ridiculous length of time to wait for breakfast. Another issue was that at least 2 tables that were seated after us got their food before us. That feels like a mistake to me. The other things was that we were there on a cold morning and they were bringing materials in through the back door which was open for about 10 minutes letting cold air in, so much so that we both had to bundle up...while sitting indoors!! Not cool - yes pun intended. So the food was excellent. Service was good but the wait for our food was exceptionally long. Being seated before another table, but they get their food first is never a good thing. Finally, maybe stock your supplies before opening on a Saturday morning. It's possible that we caught them on a bad Saturday morning, but the service deficiencies were noteworthy. read more

This is an amazing place tucked into a beautiful space on Main Street in Cornwall. The restaurant offers outside and inside dining and it has the feel of a Diner with the experience of eating with family. Hard to explain, but I think this sums it up. We all had 'the roots' -- their name for chicken and waffles. I have vowed that I will only get chicken and waffles here because these are the best-- nobody else has chicken and waffles as good as their's. I like them because they use chicken tenders rather than chicken on the bone and the crust of the chicken tenders is so crispy and delicious. They sprinkle crumbled, bacon on top, drizzle on just the right amount of maple syrup, and the waffles are so tender. Pretty much anything I've ever had here has been delicious.
