I see this deli all the time since I live nearby. Stopped in for a breakfast sandwich, bacon egg and cheese. They made it exactly how I wanted it, bacon extra crispy. Decided to get a hero for lunch the next day since the MEL appeared worth it on the menu. The MEL- grilled chicken, sautéed spinach and fresh mozzarella on garlic bread. Totally disappointed. The chicken to bread ratio was not even close, both ends of the sandwich did not have enough chicken to cover the hero. The scarce amount of spinach was disappointing, the thin slice of fresh mozzarella was a joke. Overall- breakfast I will return for another time, but the hero I got is any indication of the other sandwiches, I'll pass on lunch. read more

The owner takes the time to introduce himself & chat for a bit. He even gave us samples which led us to buy this delicious juice that his wife makes & the delicious jerk chicken salad. I had a very disturbing experience at Matson's Deli that left me feeling racially profiled as a young Black Amazon delivery driver. When I came in to deliver a simple package of chips, the older bald man immediately questioned my position as an Amazon worker, spoke to me rudely, and ignored me when I asked for the recipient's name. He then suspiciously examined the package as if something was wrong with it, gave me dirty looks, and continued to question the delivery for no valid reason. After repeatedly dismissing me, he finally said "have a good day" in a passive-aggressive tone, which only added to the disrespect. The most concerning part was that after I left, he watched closely me outside, watched me walk to my car, and stood there staring at me until I drove off. The entire interaction was hostile, unnecessary, and made me feel unsafe. No worker should ever be treated this way for simply doing their job. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, and it reflects poorly on the business. His actions have been reported to Amazon because of how unsafe and uncomfortable this experience was for me. read more

Walked in and the first thing I noticed is gluten free items. So happy happy to see because finding convenient food that's actually not fast food in a pinch is hard to find around here. I've eaten here several times for lunch. This restaurant is practicing the COVID-19 protocols. Masks are required, limited and spaced out seating is available. Hand sanitizer is available too. The restaurant is clean and tidy. The menu is very big, you can get overwhelmed when you visit for the first time. All orders are made to order after you order, so expect to wait at to receive your order. Leaving here not feeling satisfied and full is not a concern, the sandwich sizes aren't small. This is not a fast food restaurant, it's a deli and café, like the signs read. I had various sandwiches during my visits here, as well as their desserts. nothing I have ordered here has ever disappointed me. Breakfast and lunch are the prime times here. Dinner is not served, I'm not sure what time they close, but its before the dinner rush starts. There is free local delivery, but you have to make a $15 dollar order to get free delivery. Food wise I've never eaten anything but breakfast because well what else does one need from a great deli? They sell lots of different parties, sandwiches, etc but when it comes to a BOBO ( Bacon, Egg, Cheese, home fries) this place has it down! They have a nice little coffee bar that you make your own drink and it's much more than just milk creams and sugar has enough Fixn's for your usual person with flavored creamers & syrups. Breakfast sandwiches are great I enjoy the barge with has egg, cheese, ham, sausage, bacon all that's missing is some potato and it has it all! tried here for the first time 10/10. the staff was very friendly and patient while I was thinking what to order since they have a large section, plus I love how all numbered and on their wall so its easier to decided. so I ordered a #26 salami,ham cappi, sopressata, provolone, roasted red peppers, lettuce, tomato, oil and vinegar. the sandwich was fresh and bread was soft. tasted like a advanced version of a Italian combo, but made with pride to be the best. worth price for its size and taste. got a peanut butter brownie as well and it was soft and very fudge, the peanut butter on top was creamy. read more

I've stopped and tried this place 5 times for breakfast. Everything has this weird taste to it. Almost like moldy or the food is old, maybe it things aren't kept at temp, I can't figure it out, but it's bad. I was getting breakfast sandwiches and they all had that weird overpowering taste to it so I tried just a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese, it was still there. The service is decent, last I was in I was looking at my food sitting in the window for a good five minutes. Not one of the five staff standing around had a sense of urgency when the cook rang the bell to signal it was done. Maybe lunch is better, but breakfast is pretty bad. read more

I just ordered a bacon egg and cheese sandwich and asked for the eggs to be scrambled and the bacon to be crispy. I got what appears to be eggs over easy with rubbery, uncooked bacon. I took a few bites but wound up throwing the whole thing out in the garbage. Now I'm driving around looking for another deli to order a sandwich. Big let down. It is almost as if the guy took my order but didn't even listen to me, as if he said "we make it the way we make it so you'll get what you get and you'll like it." Had a similar thing happen just the other day at Home Depot. I was trying to explain what I needed while the sales person was trying to get me to sign up for a credit card. I felt bad for sales people and small businesses during the pandemic and tried to tip heavily but my sympathy is waning, they want your money but they're not listening to what you're asking for. I'll find another place that listens to the customer. UPDATE: I posted this before I read the other reviews. Looks like someone posted almost the exact same complaint a month ago and still, nothing has changed. That's indicative of a business that just doesn't care. While the food is usually good, their business practices leave a lot to be desired. Was there this past week, paid with a credit card, and was charged an additional "non cash adjustment". When I asked about this, I was told, well, we are just like the gas stations, we have to charge for more when you use a credit card. What ??!! They are the only deli in the entire area to charge this additional fee, and you'd be hard pressed to find another food establishment that charges this additional fee as well. I mentioned something on their FB page, and they took down my comment. BEWARE ! They could at least build this fee into their pricing, so it doesn't appear that you are being nickel and dimed. First time getting something from here - called first thing on a Saturday morning for some bagels and some heroes for a pick up order. The establishment itself was very nice inside, clean and had a nice selection of beverages and cold items (i.e. puddings, hard boiled eggs, pasta salads, etc.). I didn't see where the chips were but I have to look next time. When I arrived I had assumed my order would have been bagged up already but my items were mixed with other items off to the side and so they had to ask me what was in my order and grabbed those items. Our bagels were good - not Jersey bagels - but still tasty. I had ordered a salt bagel with butter but the girl made a mistake and grabbed instead a plain bagel with cream cheese. I had a hero of roast beef and fresh mozzarella and it was good - fairly good ratio of meat and cheese to roll - the roast beef wasn't as rare as I like it but I also didn't ask if the roast beef was rare when I ordered my sandwhich. I do tend to like more meat on my sandwhich but it was still good - very good bread. I would like to sample some of their wraps and other items in the future. The only thing is it needs a bit more parking because when it gets crowded you have people trying to pull in the same time people are trying to pull out and it can cause a bit of a traffic jam due to its location and one way in and out. read more
