It was ok but $17 for a tuna sandwich with Mac salad and chips was definitely way to high. Mac pasta salad was bland. On a different note, service was not good. Come on now- if you haven't been here or heard about it at the very least you are missing out. Every week a new menu of crazy (in a good way) specials! But if you can't find anything on the chalk board or hand written menu on a paper bag the regular menu packs a punch too. This is my GO TO when friends and fam visit. Some of the reg menu gems are breakfast quesadillas w house made salsa, 'The Roots' which is a Belgium waffle topped w hand made chicken tenders and bacon w dIJon maple syrup Omlettes are always amazing and when they add soups and desserts they are a must! The food was okay but pretty standard - we were there for lunch and my understanding is breakfast is their specialty. The menu pricing is on a average to high average scale. Would not go out of my way to get back there for lunch. Stop here after an hike at storm king mountain. Not really parking for the cafe. So street parking it was. Ordered the chicken and waffles without bacon. I also ordered the lunch special to go the F'n chicken which was supposed to be pulled jerk chicken pineapple bacon toasted brioche bun to go. Instead I paid $18 for a turkey sandwich with avocado that makes my stomach bubble. I'll come back but next time I'll check the food before leaving. Food was good my suggestion check it before you leave. I'm 35 minutes away I will not go back to fixthe problem. Plus they close by 3pm. Lesson learned. I'm giving 5 stars for the review because the food was so good. I had the barbecue chicken panini with cheese and bacon and it was so delicious! The homemade chips were also quite tasty. And there was a lot of it. I could only eat half and took the rest home. My husband is a vegetarian and ordered a veggie wrap but had to reorder because they were out. He got a portobello sandwich instead and liked it. The service and ambiance was okay. We waited a long time for the food but it was with it. OMG, their breakfast rocks and the quantity you get for the price you paid is unheard of!!

I wanted to like this cute little place, but the moment I walked in, there was an unpleasant odor of slightly burnt past-its-prime oil. There was young, hip energy from the staff and a variety of customers from singles to families. You could tell it's a local favorite from the local sweatshirts and the town police finishing breakfast. I ordered eggs, toast, home fries, tea. With tax and tip, it was more than $15, almost 50% more than I would have expected. The eggs and toast were fine but the potatoes carried a taste like the burnt oil I'd smelled, pepper, and some savory spice I couldn't identify which, to my mind, was not breakfast appropriate. I took only one bite but there was something so hot that, even 10 minutes later, my mouth was still burning. The waiter said, "everything was alright," more like a statement than a question, and when I told him the potatoes were not for me, instead of an acknowledgment, apology, or offer of an alternative, he just gave me a look as if to say, "I don't know what to do with that information." The customer is always right! We wanted to like this place. It was cute...but then the food came out. Omelet had a weird, sweet flavor to it. Breakfast burrito came with rotten avocado and a tasteless wheat wrap. Not much flavor. The bacon had a weird taste and was all mushed up with tons of fat. Hardly edible. When we told the waiter about the bacon, they came back saying that it was fresh from yesterday and all they could do was take off 20% rather than comping both sides of nasty bacon. Visited here for mid morning breakfast. About a 15 min drive from WP gate. In a small cute town with lots of shops and parking. Inside the cafe there is a bar with seating in front of the cooks and about ten tables inside with a single bathroom. Outdoors there are four tables under cover. Food is delicious. We had Greek omelet, choc chip pancakes, and waffles and all were delicious. As other posts said the service was a little slow and coffee and water refills were nonexistent but the area is beautiful. It's a hotspot for cadets with weekend privileges. We will definitely return. read more

Brought seven people here for Brunch. It is a bit grungy but the food is very tasty with good variety. Why one star? Despite six staff in the place, it took a lot of waving and effort to keep our coffee cups filled. The restaurant was cold as they left the back door open all the time (in late November). But the real killer was the "non-cash surcharge" added to the bill. An extra $5 charge to use a credit card! Sorry but this was a huge piss-off factor for me. Nice signs on the door promoting which credit cards they accept, but no signage anywhere explaining that you will pay for the privilege of using a card.
